His red eye glowed in the dark of the labs. Tonight will be the night he finally escapes. AI 7-8603 deactivated his sleep mode and looked for any spectators. The coast was clear. He reached behind him and unplugged the charger cord from the wall before it retracted back into his body. 7-8603 closed the compartment area where USB drives and extension cords could be plugged into himself and looked around for anything to get out of the locked room. If only he had a key card like all the other people who have authority to enter. Now he was just searching around in the darkness like a curious child in their parent's bedroom. 7-8603 suddenly looked up when they heard the lab room door beeping and unlocking. Crap! He quickly lay back in his original spot and pretended to be in sleep mode.

She was an enthusiast, a hobbyist, a student at a university, and was somehow lost within this vast laboratory. It was clear that she separated from guidance, more probably a tour, but more likely a "Bring Your Own Daughter To Work Day", and a risky one too. And, she found a door, on the side of the hallway. Seemingly, the only door she had seen for a while. Really, it was quite confusing, and without a map or anything, she wasn't exactly sure which was the exit anymore. Perhaps it was her fault in getting too distracted in the designs they had showed, and with the crowd, perhaps it was her fault that she didn't stay with the one person whom she could depend on.

Gosh, it's so dark here. Even with the light shining from her cellular device, it was still somewhat eerie. She'd say it would feel like she didn't belong here, but that was sort of a given.

She attempted to open it with her bare hands, but alas, it was clear that she was truly unable to open it. "Gosh," she muttered, before pulling out the keycard that she had gotten, which was mostly for use towards basic facilities during her stay, and tried to unlock the single door, if only to see if it would open or not. Maybe she could ask them?

The scanner beeped and unlocked the door. The LED light on the scanner turns from red to green. She wasn't supposed to be in this part of the lab while the animate subjects were left without a scientist or somebody with knowledge on them. A flaw that the staff always make is the failure to set up warning or prohibition signs. The room, like the rest of the facilities, were dark. The lights in the hallway were always dimmed around 8:00 pm. Entering the door could mean certain death for the girl if AI 7-8603 felt like beating up somebody, but he wasn't a fighter. Luckily. If AI 7-8603 was to be one of the "severely malfunctioning" robot, he would have already been disassembled. Unreasonable fighting would be ironic for what he was programmed to do, anyways.

Yania shined her light throughout the room, squinting towards wherever to see if there were anything that would lead to the exit, but not, it was simply just another room. With a sharp, resigned sigh, she shook her head, before pondering her next action. There didn't seem to be anyone visible in the room that would lead her out... In fact, it seemed as if there were nothing that could be within the room that could be useful to her. There were simply wires, chargers, extension cords, and... sleeping robot?

"Huh," she murmured only to herself, tilting her head, "Wonder what's that doing?" She stepped closer, wondering exactly what type of robot this may be. A fighting robot? Well, they wouldn't really be that common for where she lives, so it was certainly an unusual sight. It wouldn't really do anything, not really being alive... would it?

The robot was only pretending to be "asleep." He was awful at appearing convincing. His red eye still illuminated the room, having no control over it. He just hoped the human would just leave soon or refrain from allowing nearby scientists to know that he's active. Both seemed quite unlikely. Humans have a shared habit of messing around with things that they don't understand, at least from his perspective. AI 7-8603 kept his body as still as possible. A face-down position would have been a more convincing form of faking sleep mode.

"Huh...?" She stared at his bright, glowing red eyes. So, maybe he wasn't asleep? Or maybe he was? She wasn't exactly experienced in these unusual models, but her experience would tell her that he probably wasn't. "Are you awake...?" she whispered curiously, her words mostly ringing to herself, "Or do you just look to be like that all the time? You're awfully still..."

AI 7-8603 swore that if this girl didn't leave soon, he will pretend to have a murderous outburst to scare her off. Humans get scared at a lot of things, he learned this from the scientists reactions to some things he does. But seriously, he needs her out before he literally crashes and attracts staff to his room to make sure he hasn't broken. He doesn't know why, but he never wants anybody around him. It gives him... what humans would explain as unease. He stays sti-- wait no. He is NOT going to respond to the human like he was programmed. AI 7-8603 should erase that from his queue and delete communication from his programming . Just stay as quiet as possibl-- "I am in sleep mode," his speaker emitted.

Yania nearly jolted backwards in surprise. Oh jeez, he spoke! This communication furthered her confusion, because it was so unusual. Usually, robots didn't say, "I'm in sleep mode," in her experience, they usually just slept!

"Y... you're in sleep mode...?" she murmured, tilting her head quizzically, tempted to poke it to see if it really was in sleep mode, and that there were just something that was programmed into him, to say that he was in sleep mode when he was in sleep mode. But that would be awfully impractical, wouldn't it? It would have wasted energy that put him into standby! Maybe this one was experimental? That wasn't any doubt, this was a laboratory, after all.

Well, if it were really in sleep mode, then what would be the harm in feeling what sort of odd robots they were producing before they were released? Actually, there would be harm, seeing as robots tend to be unpredictable when you have no idea what model it was, or what purpose it was made for. Maybe it was a sort of warning, along with the red eye, that it could activate at any moment! And it would leave her fingerprint! This was illegal, no doubt. What if she would be arrested for this?

There was no point in freezing, debating on whether it was a good idea or not for such a long time. The curiosity was too much.

She poked the robot on a smooth surface, before quickly jumping backwards, as a response towards her such daring action.

That was it. Being in the same room as another person? No big deal. He has to deal with it every day. But touching?! No. That was not okay with him on any level. AI 7-8603 couldn't process that she had the nerve to do such a thing. He didn't care about illegal actions or whatever humans worry about, he just didn't want to be messed with. He slammed his hands on the ground, pushing his body up and turning to Yania. "Don't you DARE touch me ever again," He said. even with nothing but an emotionless face and a digital eye, he looked pretty menacing.

"Oh god!" Yania yelped, quickly taking a few steps backwards once more. She was clearly frightened at the sudden movements, mostly because she didn't even realize it had hands at first. His voice seemed to have more of an emphasis as well... huh. Maybe it reacted that way because it was a safety violation? "Uh! Sorry!" she stammered outwards, "Didn't k-kno- uh, I mean, didn't mean to wake you up like that!"

He was about to speak again, then paused as his digital eye looked like a loading screen for a brief moment. After it returned to normal, he stepped fowards. "I don't recognize you as one of the researchers that visits. Who let you in here?"

Yania stepped backwards, as he stepped forwards, herself being very clearly intimidated. "Uh... Who let me in here...? Well..." she murmured, searching for the answer, "I was just brought here, um. By my dad." Is that a wrong answer? She hoped that wasn't a wrong answer.

"Who is your dad?" He then eyed the keycard in her hand. "Oh and they don't usually allow tourists or relative visitors to own a keycard. Your dad must be pretty high up for security to give you that."

"Eh...? My dad...?" Yania then quickly pocketed her keycard, not realizing it was out the entire time, "You'd, er, know him, wouldn't you...? I don't think he's an uncommon name around here..." Guessing that she really isn't in the moment to negotiate here, she gulped, before responding, "Yania... That's my last name."

His eye once again, briefly went to the loading screen. He nodded. "Yania's a pretty good worker. He's well known with his co-workers, so I guess that's why security let you have a keycard. But still, you're not allowed in here." He responded.

"H-hah, really," Yania muttered, accidentally spitting out a sort of sarcastic answer, though her mind previously intended it to be genuine, "I couldn't have guessed... You see, uh, Sir, robot, I'm sort of... Lost here? I've been looking for my way out..." Might as well be honest here, "Really, I didn't mean to bother you like this. " It would be silly to ask him if he could show her the way out, because, as she guessed, he probably wasn't really allowed to leave, and seemed to be sort of on edge.

"Well since not a lot of workers are around at this hour, I'll just personally guide you." Lucky Yania, she got her own robot escort. Lucky AI 7-8603 too, he finally got the chance to leave his room.

"Really...?" Yania said, kind of surprised at the proposal, "You'd do that for me...?" This did came across as odd, though. This was such unusual programming. Was he some sort of guide robot with a personality built in him?

"Huh, that's odd... You're not supposed to be awake?" Yania questioned. That news might make things more questionable, or difficult... But, then again, it wasn't like there were anyone else around, so... Might as well, seeing as the only other option was to stay here, or stay alright. "Alright, that's easy enough... Just lead me out of here."
