"Do NOT call us fools for this. This is not foolishness, it is mercy, and compassion for someone who desires to change her ways. The same mercy and compassion rejected by DIO, and Pucci, and Marian, and they have perished on a path of their own destruction."

"Yeah, it's called 'basic human decency,' and it's something I can do. ME! That should tell you something!"

Libra paused momentarily and frowned, remembering Marian's death, before continuing. "There are some in this world who cannot be saved. As a priest, and as a proud member of this Coalition, my job is to save everyone that I can. I did not believe Othinus could be saved, that she was beyond the point of redemption. But this is not the case. Yes, her actions here were wrong. The lives lost from this all should never have been lost to begin with. But if we harden our hearts, slaughter her just as she begins to repent her ways...then I...no, WE fail, not only as members of these organizations, but as human beings."

As the rest of the group converged in on DIO, Touma's body flew toward the stacked god with the help of Ben, his right hand -- the same one that was cut cleanly off his body just moments ago -- clenched tightly as he tried once again, this time his Imagine Breaker power imbued with the power of Over Heaven just as everyone else was. As DIO's Stand moved to counter, it lunged its arm forward, just as Touma shot his right arm forward, his fist clashing against The World Over Heaven's as he crashed in like a human rocket.

And as his Imagine Breaker made contact with the Stand, the spirit exploded on contact, once again without enough force to send Touma flying back, but this time, at least he seemed much better for wear than the last time he was forced back, skidding several feet back safely from DIO's range, as well as the crossfire from everyone behind.

In the aftermath of the small explosion, DIO gritted his teeth, moving to summon The World Over Heaven once again in the eve of the group's combined attacks as they finally came to him... only for his Stand to remain sealed, as though something had prevented him from summoning it again.

Something like an Imagine Breaker Over Heaven.

"What--?!" DIO could only exclaim to himself through gritted teeth and cocked eyebrows as he was unexpectedly left without any defense from the merciless barrage of attacks that came his way, letting out a guttural roar as he became victim to the attacks, bolstered by Jotaro's effects that they seemed enough to begin reverting DIO's form. Just as abruptly as he had ascended into Heaven with monstrously blue skin and longer hair, he began to revert to how he had looked previously, until one could dare say he looked even younger than he ever did.

tumblr_inline_n6ofc1_Tslb1qfstub.jpg

"No... This can't be! I, DIO, was supposed to rule the world! The multiverse!" He roared, reduced to having had his power be taken away as he struggled to even stand up on his own. "To be upended by stupid monkeys...! Unacceptable! I won't let that...!"

At the end of it all, one phrase cut through.

"The Strike That Ends Everything It Touches."

BOOM!

With the same crimson power that allowed him to create portals across different worlds emanating from his right hand, Fiamma of the Right dealt the final blow, casting his own offensive spell now that he had a wide berth to take the shot, and with that, DIO met his unceremonious end as his body exploded violently, shattering like glass before Fiamma of the Right's power, similar to how Othinus had killed Fiamma of the Right himself earlier, though the irony seemed lost on the magician himself, for reasons one could only presume.

To that end...

"We... We did it! He's dead!" Ollerus breathed in relief, "But... What about--?"

"Othinus!!"

Without wasting any time, as though DIO's defeat was the last thing on his mind, Touma called out to Othinus as she was the same as she had been left before, bleeding out on the ground with a well-sized hole in her chest. Miraculously, she seemed to still be alive in that moment, but it was difficult to tell for how much longer. At that moment, everyone would be able to feel their godly power, granted by Jotaro, beginning to fade away, as though having only lasted for as long as they needed to. Just as well, the rips in space began to automatically mend themselves, like order naturally being restored.

Making a choking sound as though she were gagging on her own blood, Othinus's body shivered, her one eye displaying an emotion she wasn't quite accustomed to. Fear. She weakly stretched her arm out to the empty air, letting out a soft, weak chuckle.

"So this is how it feels..." She uttered, finding difficulty in breathing for much longer, "Ah... At the end of everything... It was all for naught... for something I wanted to do... that I'd forgotten the reason for long ago... for nothing...?"

Still releasing quite a bit of magical energy even after the fight ended, Chise approached. Taking a breath she spoke, nit quite sure what to say in the gravity of such a situation.

tumblr_inline_p7gbja7ApV1sjp02i_100.jpg

"Othinus, hang on a while longer." She muttered. She did wonder if anything could be done at this point? With the fairy spell, and the hole made by DIO. This would be the second time she was shortening her life-or at least destroying her body internally-to stop a former villan in some way or form without much violence, just with greater stakes involved in the beginning and a much more willing to repent adversary in the end.

Chise sat on her knees next to Othinus, one hand holding her's, the other resting on the former Magic God's head as she left her wand at her side on the ground. Attempting to heal her along with Libra, she glanced up at Will as Ruth stood by Chise protectively.

"Please, Will. Listen to your friends..."

"These people are NOT my friends. I don't even know them."

"If the others were here what do you think they'd do? Would they approve of this? This isn't you, Will. Libra is right."

"So what, she just gets a slap on the wrist!?"

"No. Othinus won't go unpunished. But killing her won't change the past or give you peace. You aren't Nerissa."

Will sighed and lowered her hand, the lightning dissolving. She looked over to Libra, and then back to Ben. Her dark look never changed, even as she moved Ben's spear aside.

"Even after everything she's done, you fools still want to save her?"

"Even if she's committed great sins, it was all in the name of achieving a dream that she wanted. Something that she'd turned her back upon for us, even after everything. Besides, letting her die would be to let her run away from the idea of living to right her wrongs," Touma said with firm conviction, eyes narrowed as he stood in front of Othinus's position. "Not when there's so much left for her to do."

Othinus hardly reacted to the feud in front of her, whether because she could not know how to, or because she was too weak to, it was difficult to tell, even for the former Magic God herself. She only let out a soft, amused breath, more self-deprecating than anything. "Yes... Perhaps it is what I deserve. Especially now that I am no longer a Magic God... Maybe it's time to face my own divine punishment..."

"Ironic, isn't it? Man always tries their hardest to become a god... and the god that lies before us fell victim to the most human of trappings," Ollerus said, seeming to opt to stay neutral for now as he initially had little idea what was going on, though he did well to pick up the pieces through context from everyone else, "It wasn't that you wanted to return to your original phase for the sake of it, was it, Othinus? You just wanted someone to find, to mutually understand. The greatest hope and fear of a human."

"..."

Othinus said nothing in response to the man who was his enemy just a few minutes ago from Ollerus's own point of view, letting Fiamma of the Right clear his throat and cut in.

"Perhaps I should note... I think I may have a way to save her, better than your bizarre earrings or other healing artes could. But we must move quick, at least now that Mr. Kujo's loan is expiring," he said, raising his right hand slightly as red energy continued to glow, though waning a bit more and more gradually.

"Though, if you're all still torn on what to do with her..."

Will turned and grabbed Ben by the front of his shirt, lifting him a foot off the ground and burning her bronze eyes into his green with a look that could murder the entire party over ten times.

"Why, Ben? Don't you remember when she killed us!? When she erased everyone we ever loved and forced us to live in her nightmare? She wasn't sorry then, was she!?"

Ben would be able to see small tears starting to form in Will's eyes, but only for a moment. She then put him back on his feet, turning to glare down at Othinus.

Let's say I agree with you wholly - what right do we have to end a life that can no longer bring harm? That no longer serves as a threat?"

Ben then looks towards Fiamma.

Will averted her gaze to Othinus, taking everyone's words in. It seemed that they all had forgiven her, even those she had personally killed herself.

Maybe they were right. Maybe Will was blinded by anger and sorrow. The inner turmoil threatened to consume The Keeper completely, but Xing Jin quickly dissipated those fears.

"Look at them, Will. Even after everything she's done, the others choose to forgive. I know deep in your soul that you know they're right."

"....I feel so angry, so full of hate when I see her. And yet..."

"I know we've been tricked by our enemies before when we offered mercy, Will. But if Othinus really was evil, do you think I'd let you or the others get close to her?"

Well... no..."

Will looked up at Ben and the others, watching as they all did their best to perserve Othinus' life.

"These are the moments that define who we are in the dark. What we do in dire situations. If we follow the light or plunge ourselves into shadows. You are better than this, Will. Please. Make the right choice."

The Keeper closed her eyes, searching for Othinus and her life force in the vastness of the astral chaos.

She rose into the air and took hold of reality itself, assisting Ben in holding off the regeneration.

"We don't have much time. Whatever you're trying to do, make it quick!"

Will dusted herself off, conjuring up a ball of Quintessence in her palm after DIO exploded. He may have been dead, but there was one more issue that needed to be taken care of.

Othinus.

As she lay on the ground, that accursed being that had brought her and the others so much pain, Will had nothing but the darkest of thoughts when she pushed past Ben, Libra and the others, extending her palm and aiming her attack down at Othinus' head.

"We're not done yet. There's still one more thing left to do." The Keeper snarled darkly.

"Will, wait..."

"Not. Now."

"Yeah, and we're doing it. Healing Othinus!" Severa rolled her eyes. "Jeez, does the Coalition REALLY let all these bloodthirsty freaks sign up? Or have you guys just been short staffed lately?"

Libra glared at Will, moving past her to continue healing Othinus. "Has there not been enough bloodshed already? If you wish Othinus to pay penance, we can discuss prison time or community service. It's clear she regrets her actions, and won't do anything of this nature again."

"But allow me to make myself completely clear, Will, from one Coalition member to the other. Schala could faintly register what was going on... Will was contemplating killing Othinus.

Even as her body was wracked in pain from her exertions, she was prepared to intercept a blast from Will if it came down to it, but so far... Nothing happened yet.

In fact, Fiamma's proposition, of potentially having something to save Othinus again gave Schala a glimmer of hope... And in turn, a bit more strength to keep using her healing magic, at the expense of her temporary physical well being.

Though she couldn't even turn to face Will directly, she managed to speak... Her voice shakey, but clear.

"... I too... Wish to save Othinus. I believe... It's still possible to grant her wish, without needing to destroy the multiverse..." She said, a frown creasing her face as she felt her body shake once more, before she continued.

"But... ... Will... If you... Or anyone else wants to end this... Right here... Right now... You'll have to go through me first. Even if I'm weak... Like this, I have just enough magic in me to shield Othinus... But... ... I doubt I'll make it... ... To kill Othinus, you have to kill me..." She added.

Schala was as serious as she could get; it seemed she was prepared to give up her life if it meant Othinus would survive in the end... Was it unreasonable? Crazy? Maybe so... But... It was the best she could think of at the moment.

"No need to spill my plans to an insect, especially not one at the edge of its pathetic life!" DIO exclaimed to Leivinia with an echoing roar, before clenching his fists once more.

"MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA!!!"

To that end, DIO, sent on the defensive, continued to hold his own against the continued onslaught of the attacks against him, his rapid, lightspeed punches contending with everything that came his way as far as his limited Reality Overwrite would allow; Mace's and Leivinia's onslaughts, the blasts from Max, Buddy, Jordshan, Rita, and Phil, and the supporting explosions from Ollerus.

Opting to keep on the move, DIO directed The World Over Heaven to dig its thick fingers on both hands into the concrete of the rooftop that the group might have stood upon, lifting up the ground and hoping to trip up anyone who might have been nearby, before picking up the debris and throwing it at everyone!

KRSSSH!

As some of the debris crashed into Mace's barrier made for Touma, dissipating it thanks to the Stand's properties, Touma wiped at his face with his right hand, a determined look poised on his face.

"I think... I think he's at his limit!" Touma said to everyone as he stumbled toward Ben's gigantic hand like a platform. "Just one more push! Give him everything you've got, guys! If we can keep him pinned for just one moment...!" He exclaimed, letting himself trailing off as he gazed down at his right hand, and the power within it, for a moment, before directing his gaze up to Ben.

"How well can you throw with his arm? I hope this is your pitching arm."

Jordshan nods in acknowledgemend and takes her assault cannon and opens fire on Dio. M1-4X joins Jordshan's attack with
As the rest of the group converged in on DIO, Touma's body flew toward the stacked god with the help of Ben, his right hand -- the same one that was cut cleanly off his body just moments ago -- clenched tightly as he tried once again, this time his Imagine Breaker power imbued with the power of Over Heaven just as everyone else was.

"Someone here a medic?!" Jordshan asked around at the group as she walked towards Othinus' body. She was seemingly not dead yet, but more than certain dying.
Will's eyes crackled with lightning dangerously, the very cosmos of the universe forming an aura around her body.

"Not this way. Stand down." Jordshan said towards Wil, moving between her and Othinus. "Do not try to kill either Ben or me. It will not make you any better than Dio." She added as she hovered her hand near her blaster pistol.

"She mutilated us, killed us, tried to break us. But we stayed above that, what will be killing a dying woman make you? Morally superior? And yes, back *then* she wasn't sorry. You should know how power can change a person. Especially with the powers you seem to have." Jordshan said before her arm relaxed away from her pistol. "A Jedi told me once that anyone can be redeemed. I don't agree entirely to it, but it is something to take into consideration." Jordshan said to Wil.

"Right, well. Don't mind if I do," Fiamma of the Right breathed, only able to hope that unexpected moves wouldn't be made against anyone as he prepared his magical spell.

With that, a magical stake arose from his open palm. It was the Fairy Spell, the very same that he and Ollerus had created with the specific purpose of taking down Othinus in the first place. Without any hesitation, he plunged the magical stake into Othinus's chest -- what was left of it, at least -- while he still had the residual power of Jotaro's boost from earlier, fleeting as it was. The one-eyed girl let out a sharp, pained gasp, and from there, her body began to glow, before slowly dissolving into orbs of light in the air.

"W-Wha--?! What did you--?!"

"I'll trust all of your words on this that she suddenly truly means no more harm, though... I'll have to ask later down the line just what is the meaning of everything," the magician said, keeping his palm fixed upon Othinus's body, though he seemed to wait to explain what exactly he was doing.

"Dying, surrounded by people from every angle... This isn't quite how I expected things to turn out..." Othinus gasped weakly as Touma clasped her hand, "To be called a human again, from my greatest rival at that... How sickening," she said with a light tone. Almost like a joke.

...

And from there, Othinus's body instantaneously evaporated into magical dust, leaving no trace that she ever existed as the small orbs in the air dissipated, like dust in the wind. Touma remained deathly silent, unsure of what to make of the girl who had just disappeared in his hands, his breathing ragged as he looked up toward Fiamma.

"Was... Was it enough? Or... Did she...?" Touma asked the magician as he withdrew his hand, now closed, the boy's voice choking up as though he were about to tear up again.

Fiamma of the Right remained silent, letting the boy's tears begin to well up again, letting out a soft breath at how strange it was that Touma was bleeding his heart out for someone who was his enemy until recently. But then...

"Cease your tears, human. It's quite unsightly."

Othinus's voice rang out, loud enough for everyone to hear, even though her body had disappeared. Touma's eyes shot open in shock, perplexed as to what he had just heard. "What...?"

"Didn't you hear her? You're giving off an unsightly display, Touma Kamijou," Fiamma of the Right said, before opening up his hand once again, revealing a rather peculiar sight.

A tiny, 15-centimeter tall girl, about as small as a fairy.

"Omigoshomigishomigosh! You're so cute! And you're okay! Happy days, happy days!" Mace laughed and clapped their hands. "I wonder where my little fairy friend is. You could have a buddy!"

As Mace spoke, the battle aura that surrounded them slowly started fading. Without the loan of power from Jotaro, the transformation couldn't be sustained forever. A lot of aura was used up in the battle, leaving the fusion with little left to spare, all of which had been used in a futile effort to heal Othinus. "Oh... Hold on... Ta ta for now!" Mace said, taking a step back just before splitting back into their components.

Macy was knocked prone and Mason landed supine. While she was able to rise and dust the dirt off her dress, Mason appeared to be unconscious for the time being. He's probably fine, though. The Potara earrings remained on the ears they put them on, but Macy took the one of Mason's ear and clipped it to her own to avoid accidentally fusing again.

She returned to Fiamma and matched her head to the height of his hand, watching the reborn Othinus. She asked, "How are you feeling, Othinus? Is your fairy body doing alright? How about mental health? Doing all good?"

Schala was too worn out to say much more, but... She managed to grasp Othinus' free hand just before she disappeared.

There was a brief period of silence, as she wondered if Fiamma's spell even worked... Fighting back tears even as Touma asked the question that was probably on the tip of nearly everyone's tongues by now.

Did it work? Did Othinus survive?

What happened next though caught her very much offguard; as it was revealed that not only did Othinus live, but she was... Really small, for some reason, like a fairy.

"O-Othinus?! Is that really you?... Y-You're so... ... Tiny..." Schala stammered, not even sure how to process what was right in front of her just yet.

Oddly enough, seeing Othinus like this produced a warm, bubbly kind of feeling... Like handling a kitten for the first time.

"... C-Can I ... ... I-I mean... Are you okay... If I... Pet you...?" She asked, her cheeks flushing even as she spoke.

Of all the things she had prepared for or anticipated, small Othinus was not one of them; quite frankly... She wasn't even sure what was the 'correct' conduct for a situation like this, but she had this unexplainable urge to pet the former magic god.

"Good grief, I think I bought you that one,"
a baritone voice interrupted the conversation. Jotaro Kujo and Giorno Giovanna made their slow descent from the air, still wrapped in a combined aura of golden coloration with their respective Stands looming by their side. The two users touched their feet to the ground, greeting the rest of the group with a nod.

Uncharacteristically, Jotaro had a cool smile across his face whereas Giorno's was flat and pensive.

"This isn't the weirdest thing we've come across along this journey... but it's up there," Jotaro sighed. "I'm just glad things end on a happy note for once."

"..."

Jotaro turned his look upon his newfound ally, furrowing his brow and dropping the smile. "Giorno? Whats wrong?"

"A-ah, it's nothing, I just..." Giorno quickly spat out as if he was startled, but his voice trailed back into the realm of deep thought as his feet moved on their own, leading the young, golden boy off towards the still-bubbling bloodstain on the floor where his father once stood. This blood wasn't spilled when DIO was destroyed, but because every trace of the man had been obliterated, this seemed to be the only evidence that DIO had ever been here in the first place.

A bizarre, grim memento of that callous, evil man that was Giorno Giovanna's blood father. The boy dropped to a knee, touching the pads of his fingers to the bloodstain and feeling the warmth upon his hand, even if it was quickly fading. Giorno's eyes were wide open, casting a thousand-yard stare towards the ground like a lifeless corpse. It was a wave crashing upon the shores of his psyche - a whole saga of events coalesced into a single bloodstain on the ground.

"...What cruel irony. What a twisted fate."

It is a victory in everyone elses book, and Giorno is supposed to be the morale boosting core of the group, but here he is; the only frown among a sea of relief, respite and hope. Could it be that his father's death was too quick? That he wanted to look his father in the eye one last time before seeing him shatter like glass into the blackened sea of eternity?

Was killing Dio Brando... the only reason Giorno Giovanna agreed to join Ollerus?

...

No.

No... that's not right.

A surge of life filled Giorno, returning some color to his eyes. "I understand why you killed my father that first time, Jotaro Kujo. To see someone like that, committing such sins without punishment... and then finally having the chance to end their reign of terror with one punch? I... I thought this moment would be more cathartic for me, you know? In the beginning, I believed that this was the reason I agreed to join Ollerus. It was probably the reason why Fiamma of the Right ever bothered seeking me out in the first place. Deep inside, I was nothing but a spiteful, vengeful animal seeking to let out some pent-up anger on a man that I would have never even met had things not gotten... bizzare."

"But with everything we've done? I realize that you, me, Jolyne... we came here because of this."

Giorno clutched the collar of his uniform, yanking it to the side to reveal a distinct star-shaped birthmark on his neck.

"A reminder that the three of us are related. It was simply an unforgiving fate that led us along this path. But we overcame the adversity regardless. From what I understand, that is our birthright. A birthright that I've been neglecting all along."

The boy turned to the rest of the group, rejoining them around Othinus. "Thank you, everyone. I know it doesn't seem relevant to you all, but... you've helped me."

The boy looked up the sky. It was getting sunny. He genuinely smiled, which is something he didn't do often.

"I'm finally free of the past."

"Good grief, I think I bought you that one," a baritone voice interrupted the conversation. Jotaro Kujo and Giorno Giovanna made their slow descent from the air, still wrapped in a combined aura of golden coloration with their respective Stands looming by their side. Ben attentively looked at Schala preparing to pet the small, navifairy-sized Othinus, a bit jealous to be honest, before Giorno pops in to thank all. This lead Ben to turn his attention to the don.

"No probs, Giorno Giovanna. Huh, happy endings all around," Ben ponders. "If you're finally free of the past, I'm going to assume you'll be walking into the future. Which brings me to this..."

Ben dramatically looks up into the sky, at the exact same angle and direction as Giorno.

"... what exactly does await you in the future, Giorno Giovanna?"

❝ ... I guess that solves that problem. ❞ Willard wasn't sure how else to react to the newly transformed fairy in front of them. To think that Othinus was the Magic God that they all opposed not too long ago, that'll be a story that most wouldn't believe at first. Well, it didn't shock him too much, this was the supposed outcome that they were hoping to get out of this. Willard would nod in affirmation towards Giorno, taking note that this outcome contributed to tying up a loose end for him as well.

❝ I am glad to see that you are fine now. ❞ Dlanor spoke towards Othinus, drifting away from her usual tone of voice again. It would've been devastating to see that after reaching a mutual ground with Othinus, she could've perished if not for the Fairy spell that Fiamma of the Right had in mind. Given by her strange lack of not speaking with that monotone and firm voice, it was like Dlanor developed a bit of her own personality during all this. Drifting away from that usual dutiful persona that most known her for. Much like becoming more independent and not as a tool that waits for their master's input.

Othinus herself stood in Fiamma's hand, without so much as a scratch on her body.

Will scoffed at the former Magic God's fate, crossing her arms under her chest and storming off a few paces away from the main group.

"You did well, Keeper. I am proud of you."

"Well. I guess at that size she can't erase universes...."

"No. She shouldn't be a threat any longer. At her size and with everyone here, I'm sure we'll be more than ready for the next challenge."

The Keeper walked over to Flamma then, narrowing he reyes down at her as she put her hands on her hips.

"There's your second chance, OIthinus."

Will then walked past Flamma, taking The Heart of Kandrakar in hand before slashed open a portal to Coaition Headquarters.

"Don't waste it. I'll be ready." she growled.

With those final words, Will entered the portal and closed it shut behind her, leaving the group for now.

"We need to have a long talk when we get back."

"I don't need a lecture. I need sleep."

"Very well. After you sleep, we'll have a long talk."

"Is it about letting Othinus go?"

"No. It's something else. Something personal between us."

"Fine. Just let me rest. This whole thing has been nothing but exhausting."

"You absolutely may not," the tiny Othinus said to Schala with a pointed glare, even if it might have looked significantly less threatening given her new size. As the group seemed to fawn over her new appearance, she draped her cape over a part of her face, as though to hide her expression briefly. "This new form is quite undignified and brings discomfort, but... I am alive, it seems. You chose to save my life, even after everything? Not just Fiamma of the Right, but... the rest of you as well?"

tmi04.png

"W-Well... For the most part, at least," Touma said sheepishly, scratching his chin idly as he pulled away, "But... I still don't get it. What happened?"

"Under normal circumstances, because of the imperfect nature of the Fairy Spell, casting it upon Othinus would ended in killing her more likely than not, as her body collapses in on itself," Fiamma of the Right began to explain.

"And when he cast it on me for the first time, it was only through the protection of Gungnir that I was able to slow down the destruction of my body."

"I did what?"

"I shall let you fill in that blank."

"I see... Well, my train of thinking was, with Mr. Kujo's boost, I was able to overcome that limitation and proportionately turn Othinus into a fairy with little to no harm. She may not have been able to revert to a human, but... At least this way, she still lives. After all, I don't particularly think of you as an ally, but my own allies seemed concerned for you. Thus, I acted in their interest."

"Hmph. Ironic, isn't it? What you previously used to kill me, you used to save me later on..."

"Still... I intend to repent for my sins as I am -- sparing me is more than I could ever have expected -- but... Is it truly alright for me to exist here?"
