Perhaps it is for the better that foreigners from another world does not peer too deeply into my secrets," he said to the alchemist. "And to answer your inquiry... To be exact, the Great Spirit has only been here for just one day. We have simply been awaiting your arrival this entire time."

"Oh, thank you." She blinked. She didn't expect him to have anything, but wasn't quite sure if she was glad he did or not. As the boy walked away, she held the amulet close, and tried to pick up any kind of scent.
From there she placed the item into her pocket. She wouldn't comment on Frank's remark, either.

As some of the others suggested finding taking the Great Spirit to safety in the present time, Shigure's first thought was the Coalition headquarters.
"What do you mean by direct-tether?" Shigure asked, blinking as the Great Spirit decided to approach him and Ben. He didn't know why, and he wasn't sure exactly if he wanted to know why. From the sounds of it, it was related to magic in some way.

"How about you, Touma?" Severa asked with a sly grin. "This sounds right up your alley." "I--what?" Shigure sputtered as Little My suggested him as a candidate and Muzét's following reaction to his question, which gave him a clear enough idea that whatever it was, it seemed like something he didn't want to know the details of. He was a little confused, to say the least.
Bayonetta's following response to Muzét made Shigure feel like he just got thrown to the wolves for a moment, before he winced and definitely did not flinch as Muzét got really close into his personal space and yelled into the communicator he barely figured out how to use since being conscripted.
"You don't have to yell." With a small sigh as he said it, Shigure was sure that if she kept it up, he'd hear ringing sooner or later. He couldn't remember if the device he temporarily forgot existed was sensitive to sound or not, but he really didn't want her to continue trying to destroy his eardrum.

Severa scoffed as Touma snapped. "Oh yeah? How about you give her YOUR eardrum then, see how much she shatters it?! At least when I yell at you, I do it from a respectable distance! You know what..." She turned to Muzét, now that everyone else was volunteering. "Pick me over Touma! I have magic...kind of! Maybe! Plus I'm a redhead! Who doesn't love a cute redhead?" Realizing that gave you-know-who an opening, she side-eyed him and muttered, "Don't answer that."

A bright flash heralded Deoxys' arrival, flakes of purple light rising off of the DNA Pokemon's figure as it descended towards the ground amid the constant bickering of its comrades. Luckily for Deoxys, the mission had thus far proceeded without any bumps, primarily since the group has managed to isolate the Great Spirit. For once, it seemed as if the situation was under control - a state of being that Deoxys found comfort in.
However, what was not comfortable was the atmosphere in this tight room. The mental 'air' had grown bitter and sharp to the touch again, assaulting the entity's senses like a cloud of sand thrown into one's eye. Deoxys cast a look over the so-called 'Great Spirit,' tilting its head to get a fuller angle of her chosen form.
It expected her to look a bit more robust. Beggars can't be choosers.
"I derive amusement from this dialogue between you all. However, the argument has come to a level that is negatively affecting the pace of the mission. For that reason, I must end it," the entity cast a glare at some of the supposed 'candidates' for the tethering.
It looked back to the Great Spirit. Tethering one's self to another organism... she was some parasite, then?
"It seems you have already chosen a host, Muzét. Do not consider this an argument to the contrary, but I am also a potential candidate for your process if necessary. I do not know what 'magic' means, but I possess psychokinetic power in... extreme quantities," Deoxys toned. One could even find a modicum of pride hidden within its alien voice. "Only if necessary, of course."
"I do not wish to share my power unless you intend to use it."

Floating away from Shigure, as though deciding to give the poor boy a break, Muzét floated over to Bayonetta and Severa next as they spoke to her.
"Of course, I'm not entirely picky either. Frankly, at this rate, just about anyone would do," she said wryly, in particular putting a finger under Severa's chin and perking it up slightly as though to get a better look at her. Peering deeply into the redhead's eyes, the Great Spirit tilted her head curiously. "Such a loud girl, though. You've certainly got a lot of emotion and passion just waiting to explode out. I admire that in humans; such unbridled fervor is what makes you all interesting to observe after all," she teased.
From there, Muzét laid out her holy form in the air horizontally, her head resting atop her hand as though she were laying on an invisible bed, as she looked to Deoxys, a more collected look on her features now. "You do have quite an interesting look to you; seems that you aren't even human at all. Curious," she mused, her other hand holding her chin pensively. "But yes, your purpose was to retrieve and escort me to the base of operations for your... Coalition, was it? I suppose reuniting with my dear sister Milla in any environment would still be preferable to this dreary room," she spoke, to which Crowley only blankly stared forward, as though officially zoning out of the conversation. "I'd hope to avoid it entirely, but if I do end up having to defend myself in the event of an enemy ambush, perhaps we might meet each other on that battlefield, and I can show you all the things we can do together," she winked.
"So this is what it looks like to other people..." Touma murmured all the while in the background.

You all have the rest of your mission to attend to after this, don't you? I wouldn't want to get in the way of that," She hypothesized, deciding to hold off for the time being despite herself.
Indeed, having come into contact with Muzét now, their objective here was as good as done, and once they were able to establish communication with the Coalition, they'd have to go on with the next phase of their defense against the Revanchist. But for now...

Mikoto's eyes were closed for the duration of the conversation with Muzét. She shook for just a moment, before taking a few steps toward Touma. She looked outwardly calm, even as raised her hand and roughly pushed the boy to the side.
"I have a better idea," she said, sparks of electricity appearing around her briefly. She still held her hand outward, but was now bringing her arm toward her chest. She balled her hand into a fist and held it in front of her face as if taking a determined stance. "Direct-tether with me, Muzét."
She slowly turned her head toward Touma and smiled.
"I think that's the best course of action here."
Of course, there had to be yet another disturbance.
"Hold up!"
From behind Crowley's tube came another girl with long, blonde hair. Her eyes scanned the group for a moment before looking absolutely horrified.
"Muzét!" she cried. "Why are all these people here?! What did you do?!"
Misaka's attention turned to the girl and her eyes narrowed. She forgot all about Touma and tethering immediately. "You're Junko Enoshima..." Sparks of electricity formed in the air between Junko and Misaka. The electric girl felt a sudden tug and she took a step toward Junko. "What the--"
Junko blinked. Though the distance between them was at least a dozen feet, Junko reached out as if to touch Mikoto. She yelped though, when a magical force appeared before her. "Eep!!" The magical force condensed together to form the image of Milla Maxwell. The magical projection of the woman turned to Muzet, sighed, and placed a hand on her hip.
"Muzét, don't tell me you're gossiping."

The cat led the group to where everyone else was. Its purpose was clear as it quickly jumped toward Piper and hissed at the woman. "W-What's got you so worked up, little guy?" she said, sounding slightly worried.
"I see no reason to carry this farce further," Kyosuke said. Piper turned to him to find his sword pointed at her neck. "Put down that amulet immediately," he ordered Chise. "Who knows what it truly is."
"Hey, I don't even--" Piper began to say, but a shot rang out and the woman jerked backward and fell to the ground. Down the hall was another Piper, half her face drenched with blood.
"Damn bastard tried to knock me out and stash me during the explosion!"
The Piper on the ground slowly began to change turning into an odd, cloaked creature.
"It wasn't supposed to be like this!" declared the creature.
Kyosuke shook his head. "Did you think we would be so easily fooled? Turns out, you were. Volt isn't even on this floor."
He then knelt down to examine the amulet. "I'll confiscate this and see that this agent of despair is locked up. The rest of you, go meet Wynne at the infirmary. If we're lucky, the boy has yet to catch on."
Despite her injuries, Piper navigated the group down to the infirmary while the cat perched itself on Reiner's shoulder. Just outside the entrance door, they found Wynne on the ground.
"He... attacked me."
Inside, the scene wasn't good. Men and women surrounded the boy, who had his palm to the back of a sitting Ellis, who still looked pretty out of it.
"So you're a bunch of liars," said the boy. It seemed likely that the amulet allowed Mithos to hear everything. "No matter. If you don't tell me where the Great Spirit is, I'll kill this one right here."

He then knelt down to examine the amulet. "I'll confiscate this and see that this agent of despair is locked up. The rest of you, go meet Wynne at the infirmary. If we're lucky, the boy has yet to catch on."
Despite her injuries, Piper navigated the group down to the infirmary while the cat perched itself on Reiner's shoulder. Just outside the entrance door, they found Wynne on the ground.
"He... attacked me."
Inside, the scene wasn't good. Men and women surrounded the boy, who had his palm to the back of a sitting Ellis, who still looked pretty out of it.
"So you're a bunch of liars," said the boy. It seemed likely that the amulet allowed Mithos to hear everything. "No matter. If you don't tell me where the Great Spirit is, I'll kill this one right here."

Libra was mortified by this turn of events. He had defended Piper...or, not-Piper, and she had led them along this entire time. Had it not been a dire situation he would be tearing himself to shreds for being so embarrassingly naive. But now the child he at least hadn't been foolish enough to trust threatened another member of their group. He gulped, knowing they had to be careful in this situation, lest more innocent blood was shed. He could use his bolt axe, but...the risk was far too great that more than just the boy would be harmed.

"But it is good to see you again. If you really do oversee this entourage, that puts me more at ease at the very least," she said, giving an earnest smile.
To Junko, she gave a cheeky, faux innocent giggle. "What can I say, Junko? You're decent company, but after a while, it gets awful lonely in such a cramped room like this! When you have wings, you're meant to fly after all!" She said nonchalantly toward the otherwise panicking blonde.

"Please remain calm. I shall endeavor to figure out how to transport you and the Revanchist agents back here in no time. Hopefully," the magician sheepishly said, hopelessly unversed in technology.
They'll be just fine.
