"Who would you like a dossier on?" Catherine asked, though Alvin let out a frustrated grunt.

"If we're taking her with us, we'll have info on them all anyway, we don't have time to sit down for some light afternoon reading."

"Very well," Catherine said. "As for Revan's location, he's on the floor above you. He specifically barred you from access, at least until you see what is in his personal chambers. I'm afraid it's not something I can override."

The locked door in the room slid open.

"Why has Revan let you go free?" Makoto asked. "Why is he allowing us access to this info?"

For this, Catherine actually had to think. "... My guess would be that he believes he has already won and that there is no reason to hide anything from you now."

"Whatever." Severa walked into his personal chambers. "Let's see what this freak wants to throw at us now." All this death, all this chaos...it was like she was back home. And she was sick of it.

FF followed Severa into Revan’s personal quarters, her hand morphed into a gun.

She was definitely more cautious now. Revan commanded men like Yggdrasil, Pyke, Thor, & Monokuma, so what’s to say how powerful Revan himself is.

"Well makes it easier for me to stomp in so hard he turns into a black hole," Frank replied cracking his neck. "What's that bucket head gonna do to us anyway? Stare at us menacingly?"

"Yes well, no more dillydallying," Bayonetta remarked. "Revan's been naughty for far too long. It's time for him to get a good spanking."

Alvin let out a grossed out noise upon entering the room. "Revan's letting us tour his bedroom," he muttered. "Something really not right about that."

The bedroom did not look particularly out of the ordinary. It was crisp and functional, with no personal affects to imply anyone was actually living here. In the corner of the room was some kind of pedestal with a glowing dome on top. As the group approached it, snippets of scenes flickered within the dome.

There was one scene of Junko Enoshima in the bowels of a destroyed Rapture, talking into some kind of recording device. Another scene of a boy named Hanzō Urushihara sporting a mermaid tail and gills, lounging about in some sort of underwater cavern. Then another of Hua Mulan being shot. Guy Cecil reeling in shock at the sight of a corpse. She-Hulk trying to get Bucky Barnes to smile. Emmeryn examining some kind of bust intently. Desmond Miles standing forlornly over an unmarked grave. Edna bopping the back Ren Fuji's head with her parasol. Jianyu sitting, resting after being thrown to the ground. Luigi shuffling cards at a poker table. Stephen Holder shooting a man dead by the waterside. Dlanor Knox charging a dragon and swinging a large red sword at it.

Endless scenes from across the multiverse, too many to take in all at once.

Julius shivered. "What is this? I feel..."

"This... device contains a fraction of Chronos' power," Milla said, examining it.

"Originally Revan stored copies of his memories in this device," Catherine said, her voice coming distantly from around the room. "However, it was modified using Chronos' power to extract visions from across time and space. However, it can not access the future."

Milla looked concerned. "Then at the very least, Revan has Chronos under his control..."

Libra felt himself reeling from seeing all these images. To think one person alone had access to such power...it felt sacriliegous. Revan had to be stopped. "And where is Chronos now, Catherine?" The priest asked, tearing his eyes away from the screens.

@Atomic Knight

Nothing happened to the device or FF's finger. It did not seem to run on any kind of interface.

Milla shook her head. "Well... Chronos was the first to go unaccounted for, at least."

"Chronos is as you suspect," Catherine said. "He is currently under Revan's control. His exact location is the room above you."

"Can we access any of these?" Makoto asked. He shared the thought that this was all very wrong. Revan's knowledge went far beyond they had expected.

"You may," Catherine said, "though it will expedite things if I only show you the ones Revan wants you to see."

"Hold on a second," Alvin interjected. "You said he was storing in his memories in this thing? Prove it, show us something from him specifically."

"Very well."

The dome shifted into a scene that was hard to discern. Looking through Revan's eyes meant the group was looking through the man's mask. In a dismal landscape, Elliot could be seen, consuming some kind of liquid. Revan turned to lead the boy to a space ship. When Revan looked at him, Elliot seemed hesitant, but he allowed himself to follow Revan into the ship and into the cargo bay.

“Full disclosure, I have stolen this device, but it is better in our hands than theirs,” Revan said. Revan led Elliot to a bench where a white robe hid a rectangular object. He pulled off the robe, revealing a device. It was the ARK.

“This is…” Elliot took a closer look, examining the device. “This was that virtual world. It is fascinating, I will admit, but I do not understand how it could be useful to us?”

Revan nodded to the device. “I’m sure you could find a way,” he said. “And even then, the technology could be useful for… other projects. That is if you are willing to come on board. If nothing else, perhaps the knowledge you could take from me, a man who now has the multiverse at his fingertips, and apply it to your own goals.”

“... Okay,” Elliot said after a moment. He placed his palm on the device, staring at it. “But there is one thing I want to aim for first.” He turned his head to look at Revan. “Have you heard of the entities known as the Reapers?”

The memory ended there. "Always been full of himself, huh?" Alvin said.

"The reason for that is obvious," Catherine said. "During the Discovery Incident, the Enterprise, the Discovery, and the Normandy ended up on a planet that had grown chaotic from an energy known as the Force. Revan and subject R1253H, Darth Rex, were Force sensitive. Titus and Blitzcrank may remember that one individual, Misogi Kumagawa, caused a fluctuation in the Force. This caused both Revan and Rex to obtain Force visions. Revan's were particularly powerful, as they laid out events from Point Zero to this exact moment in time."

Alvin looked around the room, suddenly confused. "Wait, what?"

Milla tapped her chin. "Are you saying...?"

Makoto finished for her. "... That Revan has known everything that would happen?"

"Yes," Catherine confirmed. "Revan worked painstakingly so that the multiverse's history matched his visions."

"So that means..." Libra felt his stomach knot. Everything...all the death and pain and heartache...this man caused it all? And for what?! The priest gritted his teeth. "If he has no more to show us," he said, "then I believe it is time we meet him face-to-face." Mortals who meddle in the ways of the Divine...Revan needed to be stopped at all costs.

@Atomic Knight

"That was merely the proof Alvin asked for," Catherine explained. "However, let me show you what you need to see now."

The image in the dome shifted to show the interior of a space ship... and a man with silver hair walking by.

dx4hlmx.jpg

The man was eyeing the machinery lining one wall of the hall. After a moment, he turned, plunging some kind of weapon deep into the machinery. After he pulled it out, the man disappeared. The vision lingered on the empty hall for a moment. As men and women began to walk by, they didn't see any damage at all.

"Those uniforms were worn by the crew of the Discovery,"
Makoto said as the vision ended.

"That was the man who caused the White Prison break," Alvin added.

A new scene was forming, that of the same silver-haired man. He was moving amidst beautiful architecture and amazing foliage. He stepped into a great tower and began to travel upward. The scene shifted to him observing a boy through a wall. The boy looked upset, standing the middle of a grand library. It was recognizably Elliot. The boy was frustrated by something, running up a flight of stairs to slam uselessly against a large window overlooking the library. He seemed trapped.

The silver-haired man watching him began to move. Stepping out on to a balcony, he conjured his weapon and raised it into the air. A force of energy cut through the air, blazing through the tower to destroy the entire thing.

As the tower began to collapse, the man disappeared. Elliot was falling through the sky, screaming. The boy closed his eyes as he felled into a portal of his own creation.

Severa narrowed her eyes. "Hey...there was a creep who kinda looked like that in Avalon!"

"So, Revan disposed of Elliot once he no longer had any use for him?" It felt like missing pieces of reports here and there were starting to come together. "Anything more he has for us?"

Chise frowned deeply, hands balled into fists until her knuckles turned white. He knew that people would die, whether he had an active hand in it or not. Jude, Ludger, and the countless others who died on Ash.

And he prided himself on it. Convinced himself that he won, that the greater multiverse was like some sort of game.

Shigure's jaw clenched as he watched the scenes and memories play out before them. He wanted to ask about Point Zero, but decided that in the grand scheme of things it probably wasn't important right this moment.

"That was merely the proof Alvin asked for," Catherine explained. "However, let me show you what you need to see now."

Brows furrowed at the scenes displayed to them now, Shigure watched as Elliot fell, and fell, until he wasn't seen again as he fell through the portal.

He didn't know much of those who were the enemies of the Coalition or other organizations other than what he's heard while on this mission, but seeing that surprised him. Why did that need to see this, specifically?

He didn't know, but if it was important for them to understand what Revan went to the trouble to accomplish to get to this point, to believe he was the winner of this outcome, well...

She had mentioned something about the device not being able to see the future, did she not? Revan knew how things would play out but how far did he see? Surely the man couldn't of been so sure of his own power and strength to believe that in the end he could win without any chance of failure, right?

Something didn’t sit right in FF’s stomach. Why was he showing us these things? Why? WHY?

But then... as she watched Elliot tumble... something clicked...

“Is... is this a warning? Is he... warning us about a much greater danger? I-I-It’s a hunch... but... that silver haired man is not Revan. If he was... we wouldn’t see him. If Elliot was so close to Revan, then if Elliot failed... why wouldn’t he be the one to personally take him out?”

Makoto crossed his arms. "Elliot was trapped until that moment. That silver-haired man was the one who freed him. Thus... putting him on the path to meeting Revan and doing all those horrible things. I don't think Revan needed anyone to take Elliot out... we did that for him."

"There's more," Catherine said.

oQ7j3Ay.png

The dome shifted to show the undeniable sight of the Tesseract, the device the Umbrella had used to jump start the events of Point Zero. The device was in the silver-haired man's hands and he was handing it to Annette Birkin, an employee of Umbrella. The man smiled at her before disappearing, leaving the woman with the device.

The scene shifted once more. The silver-haired man was watching another person, this one appearing to be Solas. The man never showed himself to the elf, simply conjuring a dark portal and leaving. Moments later, Solas came across the portal and curiously stepped inside.

The scenes were going more quickly now. Revan and Elliot appearing before the hologram of a small boy. Then Elliot using the ARK for experiments, doing some kind of research that Revan demanded of him. Elliot trapping people in order to study them. Elliot creating a device to absorb the powers of other individuals.

Then they ended.

"That is all Revan wanted you to see," Catherine said. "I would hazard a guess he is eager for you to know how far his machinations went."

From the very. Beginning. Libra swallowed the lump in his throat. Orchestrating these vile events, and for what? What did he have to gain for all this bloodshed, this destruction? So many dead...children...the faces of the young corpses at headquarters bubbled back up. "We have a good idea of what he's done. Now we make him face consequences for it."

❝ ... to think this went under our radar until now. ❞ The Witch of Miracles mumbled. This was such an insult to injury, after all they've been through. All of this was much more than the Metaworld anticipated. Much like Revan already prepared a chess formation before the opposing player could even put together a defense.

Four charges left. She dared to think that if she used all four of them up...

Lapis shook her head. There had to be another way.

❝ Majima, I hope you're ready. Sorry that I didn't warn you that things would pile up like this. ❞ She apologized to the man she dragged into this, thinking that it wouldn't be this urgent.

❝ Nah, I was sorta expecting shit to hit the fan once you went and knocked on my door. Even if I don't understand jack shit. ❞ The yakuza shrugged, seeing that it was too deep in the web to suddenly back out now.

❝ Uh, good enough answer for me. I suppose there's nothing left to do but to have a wonderful meet-and-greet with Revan himself. See if he's that prepared for the kind of audience we are. ❞

"... Elliot?"

It seemed to be the only word Titus could muster from his gullet. Ever since the reveal, anyway.

The sight of Ludger's brutalized body existed as a freeze-frame in Captain Titus' mind. Looming in the corner of his vision like a ghost - a reminder of a recent failure that will likely stick with him for much longer than it would anyone else. A corpse was a corpse - the discard remains of a soldier who has completed his ultimate purpose in service of the Golden Throne and has moved on to join the rest of his brothers-in-arms at the seat of eternity. The biomatter left in the wake of the soul has no intrinsic meaning - it's just meat. Fodder for the Machine Cult to turn into a servitor, or perhaps to be mulched down into material for sandbags.

For the first time since his mentor died, a corpse has meaning to Titus, a body belonging to someone whom he could not recall ever saying a single word to. Cruel and asinine is the mind still capable of feeling guilt. An indicator of his remaining humanity, if nothing else.

It did not matter. The one genuinely responsible - that disgusting bear - has already paid their debts. Or perhaps not. There is still vengeance yet to be served beginning with that name.

View attachment 6160

"I remember those names - Elliot, the troubled boy on the Discovery. I had not spoken to him much, but he was... too temperamental for his own good," Titus spoke as his mind returned to the Discovery. "There was a certain air about him that I did not trust. Too cunning. Had his gifts not been so useful at getting us through the conflict with the Normandy, I would have suspected him to be working against us somehow. But had I known the boy was capable of doing all this...

Titus grimaced. "Even if he had done no wrong at first, I'd have put a bolt shell in his skull when I had the chance. Such power cannot be trusted."

Titus spoke true. Elliot, at least as he understood it, was a psyker; unrestrained ambition stewing in unparalleled power births unrepentant evil. Granting the boy the Emperor's peace at the end of his gun barrel would've been the most merciful action done unto him compared to what some of these lot are capable of.

As the intelligence rattled on, memories of the shrouded world in which he had first encountered Revan returned to him. They use the term 'Force' to describe the phenomena that engrossed that planet, but Titus only knew it as the stuff of the War - power that no sane man could be trusted with. Revan's own words returned to Titus as the Astartes stared at the flickering hologram of the Sith.

I have seen visions, as well. That of a new path I must walk.

"... So from that point onward... he knew of it all."

Suddenly, it was like he was standing in the scene himself. Revan was turning away, offering his help. An unbroken skyline was roiling with the furious storm. The taste of unnatural energy palpable in the air. Revan and Elliot were both there. Unbothered, unquestioned - treated as allies because of circumstance and then allies of courtesy. All the warning signs discarded by those surrounding him because any alternative to peace is barbarism.

All of the lives that could have been saved. All of the destruction that could have been avoided. All of it gone had he just lifted his gun when their backs were turned and squeezed the trigger twice. No one would have understood. He'd have been put down like a rabid dog, murdering two allies in cold blood.

So that is the difference, then - the difference between his world and theirs. War did not consign all those souls to oblivion. In the end, it was peace that caused this.

" That certainly explains a lot, even if my understanding is lost on the bigger picture. You said this exact moment in the time- as in right now....that puts thing into perspective." Billy would smile. " Let's go and show Revan that he should have looked further. Shazam." Billy would go into his Shazam form, though it was noticeable that his eyes were sparking blue now.
