Friendly Local Cat
Plot: This world is split into two different realms. At least the main ones. There are others beyond the two. The Dragon Realms and the Lost Realm. Dragons from the Lost Realm used to be part of the main Realm but were banished years ago by the first set of Elders. The reason behind it is still unknown, lost to time. The dragons there split off into their own groups within the Realm much like what happened in the Dragon Realms. All was peaceful within the Lost Realm until a wicked tyrant declared war. Some were all too eager to take part in it, others were against the idea and thus formed a rebellion to put a stop to it.

The dragons that wanted no part in the war to take over created a safe place to live and any young that were born, were trained to fight in the battle, safe and sound in the temple that was meant to hide them and keep them safe. A prophecy has foretold the birth of a legendary hero that would stop the tyrant that threatened the lands. The dark forces attacked the temple, hoping they would be able to get rid of the one that was meant to beat their master before the prophecy could come to light. They failed, however, as some escaped the raid, going deeper into hiding, now on their own without any Elder to teach them. They now had to fend for themselves in a dark world that was out to get them.

The fate of not only the Lost Realm and Dragon Realms, but even those beyond rest in the paws of one small dragon and her allies that will have to save the world from the dark threat that looms over them like a poisonous shadow.

Elemental powers Dragons (and other elemental creatures) can have:

Fire
Water
Ice
Electricity
Wind
Earth
Nature
Shadow
Fear
Poison
Time
Dream Manipulation (includes nightmares)
Energy
Light
Aether
Dark Aether

Dual-types and multi-elemental dragons are a thing as well. Though these are rare and few and far in between. Other creatures can have elemental magic as well, such as a fire elemental fox or ice wolf. Though the main focus is still going to be dragons. Just to make it a bit different and spice things up. Dragons are the only ones that can control time, aether, and dark aether. Not to say that others can't, but dragons have a stronger connection to those three and dark aether corrupts, so one must be careful upon trying to control it, no matter the species.

Are you brave enough to step foot in this world and help to save it? Or will you be one trying to stop the heroes from completing their goal, wishing for the tyrant to win the war and rule overall?

If anyone's interested, please lemme know! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I'll answer as best I can.

The gentle breeze swept across a gorgeous grove. It was hidden beneath a cliff with a cave entrance just barely over the treetops. The trees stood up to 20 feet tall and covered an area just as wide. They boast paper-thin leaves of coppery-pink hue which spreads out to five long points that appeared so delicate as if the slightest disturbance would cause them to crumble away; yet still, they withstood the wind. The leaves danced to the currents of the air while humming a peaceful tune. The tallest of them swayed the most avidly, but the movements in one part of the tree were unnaturally stiff as if the leaves were glued together; a closer inspection would also reveal that the color is slightly different from the rest. True enough, that third of the tree rose to reveal a slender long dragon covered in purple leaves. The leaves were rooted from within its scales. Its eyes were light brown rippled with hints of purple. And two rows of spiny fins opened and stood up from the center of its head to its tail. It unfolded its wings which are barely shorter than the length of its body. Then it directed its gaze away from the cliffs, beyond the edge of the grove.

Cyndre scanned the horizon beyond the edge of the wood. The wind carried the scent of hostility and death. The dark forces had come for him, and it is too late for him to flee by air against the older dragons. He could hide amongst the maples using the imitations that he had grown from his scales. It was a unique ability, but he had not mastered it. They would undoubtedly find him. Cyndre’s heart was filled with sadness. He sighed and blew many leaves off their stems. The wood is young, just barely older than he, but he must destroy it to delay his pursuers.

Cyndre partook in a mouthful of purple leaves. It would be the last time he enjoys the faint sweet flavor that would coat his tongue for a brief minute. Then he set the grove ablaze. He did it not with his jaw, but with his body. Soft red glows emanated from the thin gaps between his scales. It distorted the air around him and ignited his leaves, surrounding him with milky smokes which turned darker and darker as the trees caught fire. He used the smoke to cover his escape through the cave. It won’t be until the smoke has thinned will the dark force find his trail, but Cyndre will miss the beautiful grove filled with rare, elegant maple trees.

Ooh, that's very stunning and amazing! If that's a sample of your writing, it's breathtaking and wonderful to read! Are you looking to take part in this rp? Because I'm down with you taking part! This isn't the spot to rp though, just an interest check to see who's all interested in joining. But if this is your way of doing that, awesome!

Thanks, and yes I am interested in joining. The three paragraphs are just a roleplay example, and quite possibly including the character I have in mind for the RP. Is this a group RP (my general preference)?

Ah, okay! I was wondering if it was. Thank you kindly for the example of your writing! I think Cyndre and Cindra would get along well. Maybe they could be siblings? And yes, this is a group RP, if we were to get other people that would like to join us that is. It's been a week almost and you're the only one that's come thus far.

It is quite surprising that the name I picked is so close to your character's. Yes, the two dragons being siblings would be interesting (and worth lots of details).

I am glad it is a group roleplay, and I hope that more people will show up to the thread. Are you interested in simple map-making?

Indeed! I had to do a double-take first when I first read Cyndre's name. XD It's only if you wish for them to be siblings of course. They don't have to be. But I'm fine with plotting details out and whatnot.

Most, if not all of my RPs are actually meant for groups. I only have two so far here, this and my Avatar RP that Rae and I are looking for more people to join as well. I'm hoping more people will come along to join us on this journey. If not, then guess it'll just be us. I've never made a map before, but I could give it a shot!

It would be cool to have them be siblings, way better for the stories too than two stranger dragons.

Unfortunately, I only like to have two active roleplay at a time (one made by me, and one by others). The other problem being I have never finished Avatar (except scattered episodes from TV). I do love the concept, I just have no idea about the main story.

As for map-making, I just use this generator. https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/

And what's better than two strong dragons than a pair of siblings ready to tackle the world head-on together?

Ah, that's alright! You don't really need to know much to take part in it since it's widely an AU. I'd be more than happy to help you out with it if you did wish to take part in that one as well.

Oh, thanks! This should be able to help out with figuring out some landmarks and giving a better idea of how this world looks.

Depending on how well my internet holds up today, we're getting pretty bad storms and it's making everything sluggish and pages not loading half of the time, I'll try to get a map done of this world and have it posted here for refenece at some point today.

No worries, take your time. I only like to focus on one roleplay at a time, so I would like to focus more on your Avatar roleplay since it is gaining traction.

Gonna bump this to see if anyone else would like to join us. We'd love to have a group rp going on! This is kinda meant for one. XD

Side note: Think I almost got the map done. Place names are a pain though. Names in general are actually.

Names are pretty hard, I know from experience.

I might be interested, but I was curious as to what exactly "Aether" represents, elementally.

Right? I've been struggling with actual names for the places within the realms themselves.

Aether: The user can create, shape, and manipulate Aether, a powerful and unique celestial element said to flow throughout the universe. Commonly recognized as the essence breathed by gods in the same way humans breathe air, Aether is a power that allows control over elemental, cosmic, spiritual, and transcendental forces. Regarded as divine power, users that can control Aether are considered god-like, essentially becoming invincible.

And I would assume Dark Aether is the antithesis? Rather than create, it destroys?

Yes, destroys, corrupts, things of that nature. A dark flow from it leads to corruption if those try to control it but are unable to resist the powerful darkness that comes from this corrupting force.

So in a lot of ways they do the same things, just differently? Definitely a thing I'm a fan of. Are they more of a yin/yang or a law/order type of situation?

Yep, they're the same pretty much. A more of a yin/yang type of thing.
