What's your favorite thing about roleplaying?

CrysCrys

Painfully back ;v;
I know everyone likes RPs for different reasons. For example, I love the different characters that are described during. It really puts a picture in your head! The universes described are fun too.

What I love most about Role Plays is that it becomes a time of relaxation for me. I get to step into a different world and try out new things and theorize to my hearts content.

I love that you get a chance to explore new subjects along with others. To plan new plots with new people to create something that you might never had come up with yourself :)

When it's good, it's really good. When I get along with the other writer(s) and the characters work and interact well in an agreeable and fun plot. I love to be in their world for a while, and in the case of rp-ing famous fictionals, it's as close as one gets to actually chumming around with those characters besides reading books, watching movies/TV. When it works out, rp can give the sort of camaraderie the real world just can't. And, it's an ongoing show you actually participate in. Now only am I sure what I'm going to write next, but when it goes great, I can't wait to see what the next writer will contribute. I've had some unpleasant experiences, but it's the memories of the good, and the potential for more awesome that keeps me searching whenever a good experience has been halted for whatever reason.

For me, roleplaying is a way to play out all of the ideas in my head. I get so many ideas in my head for stories that is not even funny. It's like my creative mind has no end, so I enjoy putting my ideas and creative thinking out in the open. It also helps that I love to write and read.

I like the whole collaborative writing/creating part. I always struggle to write long stories by myself since I tend to get stuck and run out of ideas, but when I'm roleplaying the constant additions made by other people make something click inside my brain that helps me write write write. I also love being able to "leave" the world I'm stuck in for a while.

EmiLou and OpheliaBee I couldn't have put that better. When that happens for me, role-playing is the best. It just doesn't happen often enough or long enough. Something always happens to cut the good times short.

Writing the characters and playing them out. It feels really rewarding to watch them grow and change throughout the story.

Setting up the basis for a story and characters and watching them grow and develop. I enjoy the collaborative aspect of the whole thing.

that feeling of being inspired by other great writers is one of the best things, if not the best for me. when my writing and the ideas I have for a roleplay or for certain characters flows well with somebody else's, it's so awesome. going along with that, being able to get excited for the things you have in mind is great, too.

I love the creativity that is involved in making this story with other people! And I like it when the stories get emotional and I get attached to all of the characters ❤️

What I love most is the unpredictability and involvement. Writing a story is fun because you can weave it yourself, but the twists are only fun if you hear someone else's reaction. In a roleplay, the twists feel more...real. You feel a connection with your character and you really are never sure where the story is going to go, and I love that.

I love building my characters and meeting new ones. Coming up with new idea's and adding onto my main universe and creating new characters in the process. : 3 I guess the freedom and creative aspects of it all. It is also very relaxing and fun. xD

I think of it sort of like co-writing a book. Gradually building scenarios, while keeping the almighty plot in mind, but with roleplay you get to act out those scenes with someone else. It feels different, really.

I love that roleplaying is my little escape from reality. I get to make up my own world with my own rules. It gives me a sense of freedom that I don't experience otherwise.
I also love learning and improving my roleplay ability. Every person I've ever roleplayed with has taught me something in one way or another.
Lastly, I love meeting new people. Each person that I've roleplayed with has always been so sweet and kind. It's always nice to create new friends, even through the internet.

GAAH Oh man This topic!
*pumps arms into air*
i LOVE rp! EVERY THING ABOUT IT All
*arms out, wide, fingers blissfully wiggle and Wave into INSPIRED jazz hands*
Oh what it is to be with those creative few and spring forth a text foundation of a reality Fleshed out and painted with imagination of many, so many minds, so many ideas as if a radiant spectrum sparking to a puncturing white light--But But this alone is not for I! is Not the color--its base mundane. Dull and gloomy...nooooo is that light and shadow--this shade and hue that both bleeds and whispers into the mind spun on gleaning insight of intoxication allowed by the open mind trusted to the flow of the rp itself that i surely SURELY love...Mmm these characters moving in a world both bright yet dark, hearts as imperfect as those clicking away on their keys ...

Mmm the bliss of rp is to flee our mundane reality only to take haven in its interesting extreme.

You know how sometimes, you want to read a really, really specific story... problem is, it hasn't been written? And if you ever say something along those lines, everyone tells you to go write it, then! But the thing is, you don't WANT to write it, you want to READ it, and everyone knows those are totally different things. Well, for me, roleplay is a way to scratch that itch. You get to craft that perfect story, and you don't even have to write it, at least, not entirely by yourself. You get that control over the plot, to a degree, but having other writers involved keeps that uncertainty all readers crave.

It's great.
