The Evrensel Conflict The Evrensel Conflict -- Chapter 2: Fire and Sand

"That is bad." Kingpin's Ghost sympathized. "Well, I might be able to transfer some of my Light to you, at least enough to keep yourself afloat and mobile. If push comes to shove, we have a Warlock who might be able to help. He's an Iron Lord, too!" The Ghost explained as it flashed Alken an affirmative.

Kingpin, meanwhile, ignored nooks and crannies where his radar did not flash red. So far, so good; he has yet to see more hostile, and the ones he could see were far off, a few hundred meters away, while his proximity radar only has a ranged of around fifty meters. But it'll hold... hopefully.

Speaking of range...

Kingpin cast a glance behind him at the approaching Sandstorm. Gut feeling and years of fighting told the Titan that the sandstorm held nothing good, and the random, intermittent flashes within the storm further validated his guess: something is wrong. Very wrong. He suddenly wished he still had the Sweet Business - it was currently locked away in his Vault at the Tower. Safe, yes, but it might as well be an Infinite Forest away.

He was seriously debating about bringing in his jumpship and ferrying them all out of here as his Ghost spoke up: "Hey, what if I called in a jumpship? We use it to traverse long distances, and may be useful in getting us to our destination faster."

Grimlock pauses when he sees someone under the rubble.

"We haven't much time to waste, the sandstorm nears," Athena rebuts.

"No! We have time to waste!" Grimlock exclaims as he kicks the building down and tosses the rubble about.

"If you insist, just carry him," Athena says, "otherwise, I will not hestitate to leave you behind."

"Fine, fine," Grimlock growls, "I carry weird thing."

Grimlock lifts the Chimera that was taller than him and slings him over his shoulder, all while maintaining his running speed. With that, the group of Grimlock, Red Hood, Athena & Jetfire trudged on, away from the sandstorm.

"Well as long as i don't have to restore limbs and recover heavy blood loss several times a day i can manage most wounds pretty quickly." She said tapping her lower lip with a finger. "as for combat" she said looking around at people. "I can provide aerial cover and fire support" She glanced over at the girls talking. "Though my weapons are limited if we get into a tight fight" her eyes wandered over to the door of the building taking on a worried frown. "I just hope this storm doesn't last to long we need supplies"

Another thing had crashed into the town. This one bigger than the machines. It was similar to the other biological unit he had scanned earlier.
Pondering this development for a few moments while data streamed in on the storm approaching. Strife decided to remain hidden but now only using a basic camoflauge to conserve energy.
He needed to get a sensor into the storm for clearer readings. But the range was still to far and a propelled probe could be shot down.
perhaps one of the groups would make for good bait when the storm caught up. A map took shape in the machines mind with dots scattered over the city.
Finding a high location on it he moved. When in the sniper position he could use the full cloak again with minial energy expenditure and full overview on this battlefield that might soon become threatening.

"Dont you get it i dont care about warriors pride. I was made to protect. And stop wasting energy on them they got nothingbthat can scratch you... Well besides nuclear weapons." as C3 spoke a warning popped up telling her to land and so she did with Vegeta still held in her hand.

"A storm is approaching... Its not safe to fly" looking at the storm she saw blue flashes. Zooming in she tried to see what was making them. The image was fuzzy and in places covered by static and rgb glitches. The star sure was active around this world or that storm wasnt natural but it was causing allot of higgs interference that ruined her sensor readings. "No use... Too much interference cant see into it."

"Tch." Vegeta exclaimed as he powered down and landed on the ground, now starting to set out on foot. "Just so you know, I don't take orders from you. But it seems we have no other choice in the matter. Urgh. Kakarot better not fuck up the tournament while I'm gone, or I swear to god, I will kill that bastard." He stated, crossing his arms as he walked. This sandstorm really was a bit irritating as he kept on blocking his face to make sure he could see. "Hmph. This Sandstorm is pissing me off. I've half a mind to clear it all in an instant!"

"Another Iron Lord? That's great news! We could use the advantage." The ghost exclaimed as he struggled to float but kept by the other guardians. Perhaps he'd be able to detect his Guardian if they got close enough to the city? Or wherever that shack was. "My Guardian's... not exactly the most wise Hunter out of them all. She takes a bit too much after Cayde-6."

"Something tells me your idea wont work that well." She said while her sensors picked up something exiting the sandstorm. Looking in that direction she saw a figure covered in sand and dust coming crashing down towards the city a few miles back. Switching over to higgs sensors she took a reading of its interference patters only for her eyes to widen under that mask. "Gauna detected....96% match to the same ones i blew up before ending up here." With the sandstorms interference she couldn't really see what it was visually as the image was too shaky and the gauna moved far too fast. Looking back down upon Vegeta. "Who is this Kakarot guy?" She asked while picking the saiyan prince up and letting him stand on her shoulder instead. With him being up there C'3 was able to speed up her pace considerably.

@Raynar Saassin

"If it comes down too it, I'm more than capable of fighting, even without the elements at my side. I'm just as armed, just as dangerous, no... MORE dangerous than before." she said with a scowl that flashed her fanged teeth. "There are few enemies I have found myself willing to truly destroy utterly and completely. These robots have just made that list. If we meet them again I will utterly destroy them." she then turned to Alicia and Terra. "And you two, thank you so much for stepping up. I'm going to need the help to keep everyone alive and healthy while addled like this. It's almost pathetic really. Years of training, experience, and harmony all undone by the lack of a staff. I should be stronger than this. I think I may be more... rattled... than anything and it's throwing me off. I will try again later to harmonize with the earth and, next time, I will not fail. The elements, they want to harmonize with me as well."

---

Nep looked out into the sandstorm. "You know, I feel kind of... trapped. Like, the only reason we're here, in this sandstorm, is to keep us out of the action. I suppose it wouldn't be too bad if, like, this place was the sight of some holy mans birth or a great war or something else or even just a kindly couple eager to take us in. But... hey. I just noticed something weird. How is it we can all speak to each other. I mean, I speak Japanese yet I can understand all of you guys perfectly despite how Ben over there is speaking American English and I'm sure we've got others who speak other languages here."

Jetfire looks over at the rather large... whatever that thing was, being carried by Grimlock. It was rare to see something so clearly bigger than a cybertronian, and he had to say it pissed him right off. However, he didn’t say anything, instead electing to simply let Grimlock carry the big bastard as the group trudged their way through the city.

“We’re going to need to find shelter from the sandstorm.” Red Hood comments after a few moments, looking towards the slowly approaching cloud of sand. “Only problem is this whole battle going on. We can’t get anywhere close to safe if there’s artillery raining down on us.”

“I don’t suppose anyone has an idea?”

The storm came closer and closer, like it was speeding up for every eye put on it. Before they could find shelter, the heroes and the town itself were suddenly engulfed in stand, as the massive winds were like a tornado pushing against them. They were flown backwards by the force, while the larger ones would be heavy enough to stay in place. The sand was hell, like shards of glass cutting against their clothing and skin, and without protection to the eyes, they'd be permanently blinded by the damage. Their biggest concern though had finally arrived, as hidden behind the sand was an enemy preparing for an attack. The storm was so thick, no one could see, but they could hear something, like tanks and the marching of soldiers, around a hundred or so. Something started to glow in the sand, the same neon green color everyone had seen before they were teleported here, as it was bright enough to pierce through the sand.

The glow, without warning, shot out towards Grimlock, hitting his right knee. The transformer suddenly couldn't use his leg anymore. It was paralyzed, with another massive neon green shot hitting Jetfire's arm, making it limp and lifeless. A massive barrage of glowing green bullets erupted at the two transformers, along with the goddesses, Red Hood, Drax, and the two Cimera's. Unlike the metal bullets, these stung like hell to the taller heroes, as the metal skin on the transformers bodies had marks on their bodies like scratches from a thorn bush. The bullets were slowly melting away at them. As for the C-3, she'd feel massive burns along her body from each shot taken.

Reinhardt was far enough away to not be seen, and the two guardians, SOLDIER, and Sam were hidden away inside the houses. But whoever was firing was surrounding the town, and they'd be on them soon if they didn't run. Without the glowing ammunition being fired, whoever was shooting still wasn't visible enough to see, as they stayed far into the sandstorm to avoid detection.

As for Vegeta, he'd be met with something hitting him from behind. This wasn't another neon green blast, this was a blast attack similar to his own, but it was pure black like the night sky. It'd hurt like hell and send him flying, and he would actually see his attacker, as he glowed black. It was someone dressed in Centurion armor, with a massive shield and sword short, hovering in a defensive position.

Without a warning or anything She suddenly felt a sharp pain at her left shoulder exactly where Vegeta stood just a moment ago. Her sensors follower the black beam while calculation ran through her mind. within a split second she determined form where the black blast came from and looked in that direction. Even if she couldn't really see much, she still tried to get a visual image of the attacker. after looking at him for several seconds she managed to gather up enough data to reconstruct a viable image through all of that interference. A man...or well a machine clad in roman centurion armor glowing black just like Vegeta glowed golden a while ago.

Her contemplations were just short as her sensors spotted another beam coming from a different direction, this time green. Managing to dodge the first one she ran right into the path of another one that hit her square in the chest. 'Ow that stings!' She yelled out in her mind while just tossing caution to the wind as she powered up her...whatever makes thrust and took off to the skies. Her tail moving the cannon to her hands she used the calculations of the first green blast and fired at the spot where she believed it cam from. All the while keeping an careful eye on the black mister glowy a few dozen yards away. She had long since lost sensor readings on Vegeta all she could feel is the energy he was leaking like a broken pipe.

"Ugh!"

Grimlock's right knee was hit and now the limb couldn't movd, but then he realised that he had more than one right knee.

"Of course!"

Grimlock smacks his fists into the ground, before his legs retreat and a great tail was unleashed in their place. Finally, a dinosaur head came into place as Grimlock had assumed his altmode once again.

An able-bodied moving Grimlock was there once more.

A great volley of bullets were prepared to strike when...

"Aegis."

Athena unleashed her signature shield once more, defending the group against the bullet volley and the sandstorm as she prepares to move alongside them. The divine forcefield created by the Aegis stood strong and tall.

"This has to be a Heretic God," Athena utters as she grasps her arm.

"Then we teach god lesson! We show god we god!"

"Unwise, automaton," Athena glares back, "we have to fall back until further plans. Every single one of us."

The run continued, this time with a barrier holding them.

Slumped against a wall in the building that overlooked most of the city, the robot observed trough placed sensors and his own ones that zoomed in on the escalating situation. In front of him was his axe placed like a rifle. humming gently from the charged energy.
And then what he had been waiting for happened. The storm came in and green light glowed.
That was not expected but at least he knew it was what had pulled him here and likley those others too. Shoots where fired between the parties and Strife mapped out locations and possible movements of hostiles using the sound and energy fire.

The machine raised the weapon looking down towards where the biological unit and the small humanoid began taking fire. Better start with the hardest shots first he concluded before a bright red beam unleashed from the end of his weapon. Reaching at near the speed of light it cut trough buildings vehicles and other objects out into the storm towards the green light. A quick nudge moved it sideways to catch as many targets as possible out in the distance. Before even five seconds had passed it was gone. Only collapsed buildings, glassed sand and smoldering red parts of where it had touched remained.

A hiss erupted from the weapon as the energy emitter opened into coolant mode and was replaced by the next one. Strife didn't stop he was already shifting towards the next group far away in the next direction. And once more a large red tinted beam cut trough the city like a hot knife trough butter sweeping towards the hostile green lights. Dissappeared and in two seconds a third erupted further out where Strife suspected more lines of enemies could be. For the moment the two groups had support fire. As long as they drew enough attention to give Strife enough data to locate viable targets. Or he had to move.

"Hmph. Kakarot. He's nothing but a low-class Saiyan, not even a Warrior. He was supposed to follow his orders and to destroy the planet Earth, but instead he became friends with them.... URGH!" Vegeta exclaimed, pausing for a moment to release some rage. Clearly this was quite the sensitive topic for Vegeta. "Spend most of your life ruled by another! Watch your race dwindle to a handful! And then, tell me what matters more than your own strength! I have in me the blood of a Saiyan Prince, he is nothing but a joke, yet I've had to watch him surpass me in strength, my destiny, thrown into the wayside! He-He's even saved me like I was a helpless child! He's stolen my honour, and his debt, must, be, paid!"

"What?!" Vegeta exclaimed angrily, still, as he was shot off of C-3 by a energy blast similar to a Ki Blast which caused him to quickly regain composure before spotting the one responsible. "Well then, it seems there may actually be someone on this planet that might actually give me a proper challenge." He smirked as he proceeded to transform once again into a Super Saiyan, standing proud towards the Centurion.

"Tell me. Do you feel fear? Because you're in the presence of a Saiyan Elite."

"Barrier... won't hold forever!" Reinhardt exclaimed as his Barrier Field was displaying cracks on the energy field, and was quick to give out. At least the attacks that were coming towards him weren't the Bastion Omnics back from his Universe, the sentry configuration they have would rip his shield to shreds in a matter of seconds while these are only periodically hitting. He kept backing up but this tactic wouldn't last forever. He could use some assistance, as he's used to having people firing from behind his shield towards the opposition.

Amid the howling dust surrounding the house a bright red blotch showed through the dust which then became the rough movement of a humanoid figure. A blue one emerged behind it as the two made their way to the house. Close enough and one could make out the shape of Mundi and another in a formal red dress and white labcoat. Mundi's limited kinetic shielding was running full force to keep the dust at bay but much of its exterior shows the dead grey and metal leads of a scoured active camo layer. Negative twelfth however was in the current sense unfazed but in the long term that transition glued the two leaves together when the Tardis moved them out of planar reference. As a more developed intelligence with a self-image, namely a blonde-haired escort whose clothes now barely recognized the wind, she'd been the path of least resistance in battle of intellect. Though she now had this discordant knowledge of the foundation in her head now. The servers on that leaf were either built wrong or in bad shape. She'd probed a bit but hadn't really tried hacking through the security weeds yet. Moving up to a boarded up window the stronger leaf bent a false image and sound onto reality easily seen and heard but not touched without an implant or harness.

Her curly brown hair barely wavered while a porcelain face shouts over the din, "Irantu! Anyone? I know you're iiiin there!♫ It took forever to walk here with Mundi! That reality transport fused my two leaves together! Someone open the door for Mundi, please!"

Lera Mishnev, Cyber-Ninja - Nazareth

Much to her disappointment, the Saiyan Prince had utterly ignored Lera and flew off with someone else to do lord knows what, leaving her and Leon more than a little confused, along with still being in the middle of a warzone.

"Oh, how rude! So much for Princely courtesy, pfft." Lera bellowed after him, finishing with a dismissive wave of the hand. She turned to face Leon all the while, the both of them about to begin a quick chatter before they too felt the presence of an encroaching sandstorm, one bearing a force too unnatural and powerful to be as one with the sand.

Leon "Seraph" Quinn - Nazareth

About as surprised as Lera when energy-based gunfire hailed from the Sandstorm, after the two of them had retreated to cover just as it arrived, which was no small task due to the speed of its arrival, Leon kept close to his new-found ally as they decided upon their next move.

"Have you any ideas, Lera?" "Visibility is god awful and there's a lot of 'em, my friend...we might have to retreat, as much as I hate to say." "You want to fight them all?" "You don't?" It was then that a red beam of light, presumably a laser and quite the potent one at that, was unleashed from a vantage point, namely a building, that caused major damage to anything in its way, turning sand to glass and any hostile Robots into less than that.

"Well! We either have covering fire or an interesting opponent~" Lera noted quietly still, as Leon and Lera were still trying to hide from the battalion of synthetics, namely the Centurion, though he was occupied anyway. "Then let's make haste and get to him before he leaves!" Leon suggested, Lera agreeing internally but she looked to him before they moved out. "One thing first...am I to be sure that I can trust you?" She proposed sensibly, a rare thing indeed, but Leon simply held firm. "We've little option either way, but I see no honour, nor reason, to stab you in the back, Lera. You have my word." Leon uttered in reply, Lera's initial grimace faded into a joyous look in her eyes. "I knew my gut was right! I'd never stab you in the back neither, Leon~" Lera stated, her second sentence a little more soft in tone.

"Warriors like you and I? Straight to the face." Lera continued, pointing to her own face. While she couldn't see Leon's face beneath his helmet, she gathered on his expression before holding up her hands and chuckling. "I'm jesting, tovarishch~ Let's go!" With little warning, Lera then took off toward the tower in which Strife resided, Leon following closely as both of them benefited from enhanced agility, hoping to get to the tower before he departed or the Robots noticed.

Lord Horus, Third Gen Iron Lord - Nazareth

Greeting those who addressed him with a bow, Horus was quite glad to see friendly faces, namely the Titan, Kingpin and Sam Fisher, who despite not needing to, handed him a pistol. Catching the thrown weapon with little effort, Lord Horus inspected it for a bit, lightly pulling back the slide to make sure everything was all right with the chamber.

"You know, Horus, you don't need--" "Shhhh, Ghost. I'm interested to see how it performs." Horus then knelt down, taking a magazine from a soldier's fallen body, before needing to follow Alken, Sam and Kingpin to a safe location as directed by Fisher.

"Even with our ships, these conditions favour them not!" Horus called to Kingpin's Ghost, despite a quick exit being preferable, Horus followed Sam into the City to keep safe. Lord Horus kept his acquired pistol firmly in his hands, though he had now drawn Frederick's Hunter Knife and placed it against the pistol's grip and spoke quietly to Sam. "I cannot speak for the other two, but I'll stick with you and your suggestion. The sooner we all get to safety, the better."

"Well isn't that a first?" Horus's Ghost spoke in his head.

"Ghost, please..." He begrudgingly replied, knowing his own tendencies all too well, taking another glance at the soldiers fighting.

Irantu jerked up as he heard his name, both in the howl of the wind and as a barely intelligible whisper though his neural harness. "It's Mundi. Onru, scan the area."

"Already done. I've had nothing to do, so I've been busying myself with attempting to scan the area as fast as I can, to see how fast it goes." Onru replied. "Only one small robotic construct at the door."

Irantu went for the door without a word.

@lil_kreen

Kingpin's Ghost hovered near Kingpin's head. If a mechanical construct could show anticipation, the Ghost would be doing a hell of a job at it. "Cayde-6? Really? Was she a student of his? The Vanguard-"

Kingpin held up a hand to silence the Ghost as he froze, slowly turning his body around in a 360 degree circle. The auto rifle now brought up to bear at a defensive stance, the Titan vocalized in his gruff voice:

"Contacts."

On the edge of his radar, red swarmed from all sides.

Two teal eyes peered through a crack in the door at Irantu as he approached, "My little Mundi can't open the door with the barrier up and I can't move through the door when you'd see me."

Lilting her voice a faint floral scent of perfume came to Irantu against the wind, "Intellectual consistency is the curse of touchability! I still can't manipulate things, like door handles, sorry!"

Mundi sidled up to the exterior wall with a thump of legs causing the buzz of reorganizing projection cells.

Rose was blinded by the green flash of light, her train of thought lost completely as she was distracted by it. When the blonde haired woman could eventually open her eyes she was surprised to see a desert and not the usual run-down estate of her home. She looked around for a moment, her brown eyes searching for traces and signs of other people, or just in general life. She raised a hand to her eyes to shield them from the sun, she had been in situations such as these before, arriving in completely random locations, foreign lands, but that only happened with the Doctor.

And she was no longer with him, so how did she end up here, and why? She felt a breeze on her back, and grains of sand scratched again her skin, a sandstorm? she knew then that she would need to find some cover, but she could see nothing other than sand, but better than standing around doing nothing she began to walk, she knew it was useless to try and use her mobile phone, so she left it in her pocket, for all she knew, she could be on some far away planet with no way to contact her mother.

Slowly but surely he regained his consciousness; his entire display lit up and his eyes began shining blue once more. He sensed movement, which was only confirmed when his sensors indicated he was being carried by something- or someone.

Then suddenly his balance shifted and he almost rolled off of whoever or whatever carried him. Moments after he had several alarms popping up into his display; showing incoming energy beams, as well as count-downs that counted down towards impact with himself. Then suddenly the countdowns disappeared, and his systems needed a moment as they triangulated the energy beams their new course, only to fail at doing so. At that moment he couldn't rely on his sensors alone, and he slowly turned his face around; his blue eyes shining dimly. He saw big, clawed feet stomping on a sandy surface. At that moment he realized he was being carried by someone...

'Someone...'

-...he thought as a sense, a weird but creepy feeling found its place in his mind; it was fear. Fear of the unknown.

"W-W-W-Woah!" he said as he slowly tried to get off of whatever was carrying him.

"Life-signs detected." he said as he succesfully got off the thing that had carried him. Soon after a green beam of energy managed to shoot over the shield that had been cast earlier. Flashes and alarms were once again filling his display as he said; "Incoming."

The green energy beam flew right over his head, leaving behind minimal scorch marks. It was at that moment that he looked around again and saw the other beings, both small and - almost equally - large as he was.

"H-Hello. I... I might have crashed..."

Alken had been collecting himself and his belongings during his short reprieve, but when Kingpin collected himself for battle, the SOLDIER huffed and leveled his blade, preparing for an attack from any side.

"Hey. Black and gold Guardian. The big one." Alken referred to Kingpin, quickly detaching the standard longsword from the magnetic clip on the back of his vestments. "If we're drawn into close-quarters, you might need something a bit more...proactive in an enclosed space."

Taking his extra weapon off his back, Alken spun the blade towards himself, offering Kingpin the handle. "It's a little blade-heavy. About ten pounds; not much, but it adds up if you swing it wildly without thinking. I get the feeling a big guy like you could make good use of it if your ammo runs dry, or something gets in your face." Alken had always frowned upon guns. SOLDIER was a department dedicated solely to the ancient and refined art of toe-to-toe violence. "Don't tell anybody; I'd catch hell back home for letting you borrow Shinra-tech." He honestly hoped the Titan would accept the offer; it worried him that nobody else here was using a weapon that wouldn't eventually run out of bullets.

If nothing else, this might make for a good cultural exchange before the battle began.

Irantu cocked his head as his left hand went for the door, while his right drew his sidearm. He didn't remember a woman's voice before, but as Onru said it was clear...

He pulled the door open, pistol held in a defensive position, looking down at the small robot.

@lil_kreen

Kingpin gave a curt shake of his head. "He's bad with swords." The Ghost explained. "He sees it as more of a Hunter or Warlock thing. "Also, forgive me for failing to introducing my Guardian properly. His name is-"

"Kingpin." The Titan introduced himself with yet another short sentence. Without missing a beat, he waved away the sword's handle and held out his hand towards his Ghost, seemingly concentrating on something. The weapons on his back glowed and faded, replaced by new ones - a revolver at his hip, a 10-barreled gatling-like rifle on his back, and a shotgun in hand.

"...yeah. Thank you for the generosity, but he feels more comfortable with these." The Ghost explained in a very apologetic tone, and turned to address the other Ghost. "When we find your Guardian, maybe we can loan or give her a weapon or two from on inventory." It turned again. "Iron Lord. Do you have your own weapons ready?"

Meanwhile, Kingpin produced another hand cannon, and offered it to Sam grip-first.
