" It doesn't bother to be called a machine at all. I just have a name that you can use which is easier," he said, looking over at him and thought about how to address him and finally settled for something. " You know after nearly a billion of years of trial and error and growth and survival, you think you would be smarter after all this, but turns out the growth and survival couldn't account for arrogance and violent tendencies. I know what I am, and I know what I know. I have a simple question for you, yellow man. Without your powers and I assume that you have some with your arrogance, do you know who you are anymore without or are you just a shell?"

It would have been so easy to get mad at him for his view, but he had learned from his previous models and Amanda, it was better to outmaneuver and cause self- doubt then it was to punch and shoot the person when equipment was low.

" As much as you like to think that I'm programmed and scripted, my mind is not. I didn't rule out the possibility, I'm only going off the information that I can read. I can't attest for the emotions of the Overseer who we have only seen twice, but perhaps, underestimating her is a good thing. The more a person thinks you believe every word they speak, the less likely it is she will believe we can escape. How do we know that she even knows about the files? For all we know, this can be an abandoned place she had set up and some things were left behind by the people before. I wouldn't expect a man whose natural defense is to play the victim to understand, but I do understand how humans work. I know all the psychology and behaviors of humans, I wouldn't be an effective model if I wasn't," he said, looking over at him before deciding to add something. " Perhaps you never have considered the fact that I can lie about what I do and don't believe, but then again, you didn't seem that bright back in the cells and when you were getting beaten, so perhaps I misread the intelligence I thought you had," he replied back to him without missing a beat.

Will had made sure to keep his hands away from the pistol. If he drew it now, he wouldn't even think twice about shooting the man in the head. It was almost instinct to do just that. But for now, he had a lot of humans who trusted him and didn't know what he did as the Connor 60. Besides, some were already on the fence about him. But if there was a moment where the bullet can miss and kill some of his problems, well Will wouldn't stop it.

" You assume very little of me. Just because I'm nice doesn't mean I am a pushover. There's a difference between nice and good and don't make that mistake. " He didn't reply to his second statement, but he filed it away for later. There were others here and even though Dhaos hated him, he did think Akande and Hela and Wesker would take too kind if the yellow man attacked him.

Will pulled his arm, so Thaal would only be slapping air. He was not interested in a friendship or care for it thought. " As much as those tricks might work on humans, I don't believe a work you say. Besides, if you are worried so much about your pride, you should worry about the fall you will have for your arrogancne. Pride cometh before the fall, but I'm sure we can co-exist."

'Wow.' Hela thought. 'He just put him down like the dog he his. Maybe I should stick around this guy, maybe he can teach me something about co-existing with others.' Hela soon spoke up. "While I would partially enjoy seeing the two of you argue over this issue, we should probably move forward and see if those two girls are okay. We may be able to find more information that could be useful." Hela suggested.

"Oh, you presume too much, tin man" Sinestro sang, unshaken by Will's word. Childish. That was the only way he could think to descibe such a display. The boy was trying to beat him at his own game, and for that, Thaal felt a great deal of pity for him... "I have no powers. Not a single innate Meta-Being skill. I've been given the opportunity to have them- do not get me wrong- but do you know why I've turned them down again and again and again? Because I do not need such a crutch. I'm not a shell. I know full-well who I am. I am Thaal Sinestro, a man whose mind has allowed him to move people, shape cultures and restore order from chaos. Listen to your own prattle, Android; survival and evolution have been fuelled by violence. Life didn't crawl from the primordial soup through niceties. The superior lust for survival is the only thing that has allowed for mammals to grow beyond their bacterial kin. I am simply the product of supremacy and success, and my pride and aptitude for harm are simple the fruits of such factors. "Heard twice, Android. We have only heard her twice. But by all means, continue"

"Underestimating her is a good thing. The more a person thinks you believe every word they speak, the less likely it is she will believe we can escape. [/USER]
"In what world?" Sinestro muttered in utter disbelief "No, in what universe would intentionally underestimating any foe help either party? All you've done is provide an excuse for your own failure! Feint ignorance. Don't spread misinformation among your own party in the name of confusing your foe! That is the most bizarre strategy I have ever heard. It's foolish. An embarrassment to hear... Sweet Arin..." Thaal hushed his tone and hummed his prayer "Why have I been forsaken like this... Trapped among herbs and stupid machines..."
How do we know that she even knows about the files?
"As I have said, I don't. What I am certain of, however, that it is possible that these documents have been planted or faked. A possibility, and one worth considering, instead of blinding taking them to be the Gospel Truth. Besides, with how loudly you have been arguing about this, I have no doubt that she knows about these documents now!"

"'Play Victim'? You'd consider me defending myself against two open assaults 'Playing Victim'? You misunderstand your own words. I have never claimed to be weak. I have shown far more strength and resolve than anybody here because of it. Perhaps I should demonstrate some that... how did you describe it? Oh, yes, my 'arrogance and violence' to show you my lack of victimhood. But, no... I won't give you that satisfaction. I'll put it simply; you are defective. Blind, for the first part. I was more than capable of defending myself . In fact, I did no. Do you not have memory banks between those rubber ears of yours? I deflected Hela's blades during her first attack and held her in place, unarmed. During her second attack, I destroyed her blades, summoned by ring and restrained her. Correct me if I am now mistaken, but her blades came for all of us. Megatron and I dealt with the situation, while you watch... sorry, cowered"

Thaal leaned forward in disdain, the white glow of his eyes reemphasising his namesake; his glare was sinister, his pupils betraying his demeanour.

Just because I'm nice doesn't mean I am a pushover.

"'Pride cometh before the fall'... Now that is a phrase I have never heard before. Your creativity knows now bounds"

With thinned eyes and raised brows, Thaal continued, breaking a fleeting moment of silence

"Machine, I have lived far longer than you are aware. Do not seek to lecture me on the rise and the fall of titans. I have witnessed many in my time, and if doing so has taught me one thing, its that from the ashes of defeat, even greater forces are born. The Pride I possess is not born of ignorance or self-importance, it is born of an understanding of my faults and limitations and the ultimate acceptance of such factors. I am totally and utterly aware of myself and those who surround me. I know when I am in my element and I know when I am out of it. The same goes for those I call 'Allies'. My compliments hold weight. My insults hold even more so. I shan't bask in pointless cruelty. The faith I place in my own skill is faith well placed, and the same goes for that I have placed in Megatron, Pyke, Candi and several others. My lack of faith in you can be backed up too. It's not a sign of my weakness or ignorance, machine, but a hallmark of my strength.

I thank you for that moniker, by the way. Thaal Sinestro, the Arrogant and the Violent. Now those are two titles I will gladly wear with pride..."

Will Nines

Will had already gotten to the point where he found the argument pointless, not because he knew he was going to lose, but because it wasn't getting him anywhere. All it was doing was causing undo stress and he shouldn't be wasting his breath on such a stupid man. He could also tell the man was lying. The android wasn't fucking blind. He had seen him make those energy constructs and they were particularly powerful, so he most certainly had a crutch. He however took a deep breath and focused less on what he was argued back too and he didn't even think twice about just walking away, but he did wanted to finish checking the desk. He knew there had been files in the cabinet, but he wanted to make sure that he didn't miss anything that could potentially help them. Sure, not every thing he found was meant to be helpful, he was sure that was true, but to pretend that everything was just something that was just planted was just as stupid in his mind. He was already done with Thaal. He did however have something else that he wanted to do. He had an objective of his to revise. Was it actually deviant to give himself objectives? Perhaps, but he needed something for his programming to understand.

Will could have sworn that she had also projected an image, but perhaps he misremembered.

The RK900 didn't answer the question that Sinestro provided. God, the fact that he had a pistol by his side made him so want to pull it out and shoot the man in the face. Maybe that would shut him up or cut the argument short. Of course, the second he did that, he would be seen as no better than Hela and lose trust of those he wanted to be "friends" with. Perhaps he would gain respect from the others, but trust was something that was easy to break. He didn't respond to stupid machines, instead making a note to once again revise his objectives.

Will continued to silently ponder things, but he didn't take these as the Gospel Truth. He had picked up the files and had also put them down. God, it was too bad that androids couldn't tune people out and he was certain there was no connection to Cyberlife to listen to music and make his words better or somehow make things worse as it would be.

The RK900 was silent still. He was trying to process information while he was paying attention to him and he listened to every work. He knew what had happened and he also knew that there was a way to twist his words if he spoke now. Silence was the best option. Though he knew his preprogrammed responses could hold a air of snark and perfection, he had quickly realized it was better to not speak. That had been the downfall on the 60 model they had sent out that had indeed defected. He knew it was so easy to be goaded and he knew he was going to say he cowered. Just pull out the gun, shoot him in the face, leave a corpse. No, no. Will compartmentalized the thought again. He didn't want anyone to realize that he had a gun from the dead soldier. He was sure someone had noticed him take it, but if he didn't use it, nobody could be mad at him. He hadn't cowered, he had been analyzing and taking notes, seeing what they could do.

He was unmoved by the gaze, it didn't even bother him that he was being so obvious about everything that had happened. He continued to not speak a single word.

Will had been developing his own theories, but he had kept silent about most of them. He didn't have any solid proof of anything, but he had made a note of a few things. They most likely weren't the first here. There had been a fight here, humans had certainly died. Something that he had made a special note of Wesker knowing what the herbs had done. He wasn't certain, but he was positive that they were native to the man's world. He was the one who had first noticed the rebar. He was the one who had found the key to get them up here. It was funny how unobservant Thaal was.

All Thaal was met with silence. Will had gone to actively ignoring him.

He started to compartmentalize his second objective in his mind

SECOND OBJECTIVE: KILL ANY DEVIANTS FOUND IN THE GROUP. OBJECTIVE REVISED: KEEP EYE ON YELLOW MAN, POSSIBLE FIRST DEVIANT OF GROUP, ELIMINATE IN A WAY THAT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE AN ACCIDENT TO KEEP GROUP'S TRUST IN YOU.

The sarcasm was lost on the android completely.

Will added a fourth objective to his programming. QUATERNARY OBJECTIVE: MAKE MORE FRIENDS AND STRENGTH CURRENT FRIENDSHIPS.

Of the fleeting moment of silence was beautiful while it lasted, but it was gone just as quickly.

Will continued to at least pretend to inspect to the desk, honestly, at this point, he just want Thaal to shut up. This monologue was so fucking long that he had to wonder if the man was doing it to prove it or just because he liked to hear himself talk. It was [SOFTWARE INSTABILITY] [SOFTWARE REPAIRED] enough to make him think that shooting him would be something that some members of the group would applaud him from. Was he done talking yet? God, how many more works could h fit into his statement. He was a walking contradiction. Friendly, yet arrogant, someone who claimed he didn't believe in self-importance but continuing to talk and talk and talk about himself. At this point, Will was just getting [SOFTWARE INSTABILITY] [SOFTWARE REPAIRED] being in the same room as him and just wanted to leave and go talk with literally any other in the group. He would even take a brooding man who didn't talk at all. Was he done yet?
When Sinestro finally finished his speech, Will nodded at Hela to say he agreed with her and looked over at the others in the room to show that he only agreed because he wanted to fucking get away from Sinestro at all costs.

"Oh, you presume too much, tin man" Sinestro sang, unshaken by Will's word. Childish. That was the only way he could think to descibe such a display. Dhaos hadn't shown much positive emotions during his time here, but the put down Sinestro was giving the human created machine felt cathartic to Dhaos for some reason. A tool of the humans grasping for straws. "Faith in the machine is just another thing that will put us in jeopardy," He replied pointing towards Will. " We do need to catch up to the rest of the group. I will gladly turn over the pistol if that is of concern, but I have yet to be able to see anyone else in the group who has experience with it. Part of my protocol was training with firearms and other weapons. "Good. We only need to work together 'For Now'... should you hate them more than you hate me, then I fear for the state of their future corpes"
An assertion of strength; that was the only thing the seaman would respect. He clearly wasn't a man in love with his monologues or even his logic, and it had long since dawned upon him that Thaal Sinestro, Archeologist, was not the face that would earn his favour. Titles wouldn't pass. For now, he wasn't the custodian of Korugar. He wasn't the Master of Fear. He wasn't even the Ruler of the Yellow Tribe; He was Sinestro, the First Splinter Lantern. A man of will and drive. A man of little words and large actions.

His gentlemanly facade shattered.

"The moment we step outside, you're free to leave; kill as many suits as you like. Try to kill me if you'd like, should you wish to cut your liberty short. But hear this; until then, neither of us are looking for a friend. Hate me. Loath me, as I'm sure many men here do; we don't get locked up here for sainthood. But channel that hatred. Channel that loathing. It'll keep us all alive long enough to kill each other. I'm glad we're on the same page, Pyke"

Marching on ahead, Thaal reassembled his old mask. He was the Guardian's Golden Boy once again, and he had one last job to complete; he was going to bring the Overseer to his own, bloody justice.

"Fair terms" Thaal lowered his brown, the tension from his brief interrogation fading from his face "But I'll remind you that there is always a choice; Those men behind desks cower in fear of action. They fear death. They fear sacrifice. Men like us have the power to bring their fears to light before them. Make them fear you. Let them cower. Make them cry. Make them bleed. After that... negotiation is no longer a necessity. Save your trust for those who've earned it; for those on their knees, fear is a much greater motivation that trust"

Dagran turned to Thaal with quiet contemplation. "I only work with them to bring a roof over my head-as well as the band of mercenaries I regularly travel with-and to get a good meal or two." Or in a certain memebers case, eat two hundred and fourteen muffins. It was something he still wasn't over, honestly.

Dagran didn't bother paying too much attention to the argument between Thaal and Will, instead he glanced to Pyke briefly before crossing his arms and deciding to finally speak up about wasted time, but it looks like he didn't necessarily need to.

Will didn't disagree with them, but he really wanted to finish doing a quick look over of anything that wasn't investigated in the hospital room, to make sure that he didn't miss anything before he left.

" If I am going to take a wild guess, your talents are probably closely related to the powers that you don't currently have. I don't think we will have a choice at the end of the day, the illusion of choice seems to be very strong. Every time we tried to go downstairs, we were stopped, the only way to go was up and secondly, a strike to the back would leave you crippled and possibly dead, but it is much better to strike someone in the mind or the heart, far more likely to kill them that way or so I understand." That end sentence made it unclear if Will knew how to snipe someone based on prior knowledge or reading it somewhere.

"Hold on,"
Pyke began, "He's a machine? He don't seem like one..." Evidently, he had no concept of androids that perfectly replicate humans. Any kind of machinery he'd ever come across was very obviously a mass of metal and bolts. But this one? Not so much.

When the topic of continuing was brought up, Pyke agreed. "What they said. Don't really care how we got here or why. All I'm concerned about is whether I'll get the chance to drown that captain. All this talk ain't gettin' us any closer."

Dagran turned to Thaal with quiet contemplation. "I only work with them to bring a roof over my head-as well as the band of mercenaries I regularly travel with-and to get a good meal or two." Hela understood Will completely... Sinestro was a burden to all of them. She soon saw nothing else was in the room to look. "Let's move." She said. Once she and Will left, she pulled him to the side and decided to have a secret conversation with him. "Listen," she whispered, "I don't like that yellow bastard anymore than you do. We need to eliminate him. We should make it look accidental though... don't want people accusing us of cold blooded murder." Hela whispered, making this up all on her own. She couldn't read the android's mind, so when she saw him get skeptical she clarified it. "If that was part of your mindset, I don't read minds so I didn't steal this idea from you."

Will was silent, trying his best to analyze the situation that was going on and he nodded at her, seeing as time had passed, a lot of people were leaving him alone. He was surprised when Hela pulled him aside and he listened to her with careful consideration of words he should pick to not anger the woman. " As much I don't like the man, that solution is only going to cause problems. Sometimes the best thing to do is just ignore him and keep an eye on him. If the group collectively thinks it is a good idea it is different , but right now Mr. Thaal has friends and the group that you managed to axe yourself from might not be too happy about any accident that can happen." He took a deep breath before deciding to add. " But I won't forget the idea." He turned heel, passing the infirmary again for a quick pass to see if there was anything he could find and went back to grab a few more plants before he would turn and join the others on the higher level.

"Look at it even now, like a rodent trapped in a cage trying to escape. Yet somehow it is allowed to carry the only weapon among us. This is folly of the highest order."

@Sark @CrunchyCHEEZIT @Siege @Atomic Knight @Yun Lee @Lucky
"I couldn't agree more..." Thaal continued to stare down their silent android adversary through slanted eyes "And just like the rodent, he seems ripe for a little experimentation... He wants me dead" Somehow, the idea seemed to excite Thaal. An opportunity had just presented itself; With Will and Hela working together, Will was simply ensuring his own isolation, cementing his reputation as an inhuman, unrelatable outsider. For a man with a calculator for a brain, he had failed to calculate the legitimacy he detracted from his own argument through his isolation. What he had intended to be a tactical retreat, or simply an attempt to undermine Thaal's growing support base had instead come across as an attempt to cover from a debate he had lost. Things could not have turned out better for Sinestro, in the end. Hushing his tone until only Dhaos could here him, Sinestro mirrored Will's conspiring.

"You can't see it in his eyes- or cameras- but as a creature of 'logic', it would make sense for him to try to eliminate those who would interfere with his 'prime directive'. He will show his true colours soon enough. Yes... let him keep the gun. He doesn't have enough bullets to take all of us, nor does he have the nerve. As long as that temptation remains, we will have the opportunity to remove him from the equation and leave the responsibilities in the hands of men, not appliances"
"I am not a stranger to mercenaries..." Thaal smiled with open arms. Yet another great opportunity had blessed his palet; it was like Christmas Morning for a Dictator. "Name your price; I might find a use for your services yet..."

"A slow round of applause to the machine who's clearly has no idea how anatomy works, nor the element of suprise..."

For an abomination like Will to exist, Thaal would initially believe that science had gone too far. But the more had had to endure listening to the creature speak, he was starting to believe that science hadn't gone far enough...

"Hold on,"
Pyke began, "He's a machine? He don't seem like one..." Evidently, he had no concept of androids that perfectly replicate humans. Any kind of machinery he'd ever come across was very obviously a mass of metal and bolts. But this one? Not so much.

When the topic of continuing was brought up, Pyke agreed. "What they said. Don't really care how we got here or why. All I'm concerned about is whether I'll get the chance to drown that captain. All this talk ain't gettin' us any closer."

"Also," he replied, "You don't wanna end up like me, Dagran. Watch your back when you work under those guys. Ain't nothin' darker than a captain's soul."
"Believe me, I would love nothing more than to tear the Overseer's head from her shoulders, but every second that machine wastes spreading misinformation is a second longer we must stop to counter him" Cement Will as the Villian he was; That would be the goal of this encounter. It was time to do away with his interference, and Pyke was the one man who could help him do so. Sinestro spoke quieter once again, sending a whispered message to the Sea-Man, voicing his suspicions in an honest, open tone. "He would rather see us meet the same fate as that guard rather than critically address this data. He's the one keeping us from our revenge, not Father-Time. He and Hela seek to become Captains of us all and control the information we receive. The Overseer may Captian them, but, if we let them have their way, they would love to Captain us. You said you wouldn't let anything get past you before, and in doing so ensured that Kokichi told the truth; Through prudence, we can ensure the same fate befalls the Machine. We must keep our eye on them... Fate only knows what they have planned for us..."

Dagran gave Pyke a nod of understanding. If he could gain the favor of the Count of Lazulis Island and could free his comerades from a false prison sentence back home with a bit of persuasion and a bit of the truth strewn in to the open ears of the Count, then he was sure he was doing fine so far at least.

A smirk of amusement came across Dagran's face at this, his usual stoic expression set aside for a moment. "Is that so? I'll have to apologize, for I'm currently in the process of serving the Count of my world. However, we'll have to see how this game we've found ourselves in ends first., then I might consider a price" He chuckled. He last remembered working for the Count still anyway, it was a bit concerning how jumbled his memory still was, but decided that it would all return and be made clear again eventually. Sinestro made a tempting offer-almost.

The man had too much of a target on his head currently when it came to Will and Hela, so Dagran would simply wait and see how things went from here on out. He wouldn't be so quick to trust Thaal, he wasn't complete trusting of even Pyke currently, though between the two it was currently best to keep Pyke on your side regardless of one's thoughts or gut instinct to tread very, very carefully around the Seaman.

Hela followed Will. It seems the two were at least now on a page where Will wasn't going to kill her... Hela needed to earn the trust of everyone again. She made a mental note of who helped her with that tarp. Ashe and Lucy. Will was now at least somewhat on her side. Candi? She thought she had her, but Sinestro ruined that. Megatron was... well... she didn't know if he was on her side or not. As far as everyone else, she didn't know for them either. The best thing to do was to keep moving.

"I completely understand human anatomy and I'm making a point that the anthology poor. The element of surprise would only be useful if I planned to use the information and I do not."

Will would eventually notice that Hela had been following him, but he had been so lost in his thoughts as his LED processed the information he had. There was a dead body which had the disease possibly described in the papers, two plants that had healing properties, two keys ( one of which he still had in his person with the pistol and some rebar). There was Cole and the strange purple haired boy and the area they hadn't visited which seemed cut off as Megatron had broken the scaffolding to go back up. There was also the hospital and infirmary that could factor in. And then there was the Overseer, this mysterious woman as far as he knew. Sinestro had made him wonder if the Overseer was indeed a woman now, what if it was a man with a very lady-like voice or a man using a voice changer? What if it was just a recording of a woman?

The more he questioned things, the more he realized he knew nothing [SOFTWARE INSTABILITY--- DEVIANCY AT 25%] [SOFTWARE UNABLE TO REPAIR- REPORT BACK TO CYBERLIFE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.]

After going to grab as many plants as he could and checking the room for a possible fifth time to make sure he didn't miss anything, he would go up to the third floor.

"

Will looked over at Hela. Had she been following him this whole time? He felt so taken back that he had missed that, but he was silent, not wanting to bring up the fact she followed him since it would be suspicious.

Since their arrival, Nathan had stayed silent, not even speaking when spoken too.

He was really going through all of this again? Was once not enough? He remembers Elliot falling mostly, and all of these people did not seem pleasant.

Nathan shook his head and followed behind the others, opening his mouth to speak- his voice corse from lack of use.

"What did you want from me earlier?"

Will looked over at her and wished he had face palming in his directive, but it was good to know. He didn't decide to ask her what she meant by getting the wrong idea about her following him.

Will had not immediately noticed that Nathan had even gone with the group. He had assumed that with the horned man from earlier that he had decided to stay in the cell.

He took a deep breath, realizing that he was someone who didn't know Sinestro or Dhaos opinion on him now that he thought about.

" I wanted to make sure you were okay as you had not made any effort to leave once the cell doors were open. It is good you followed eventually as I feel we are cut off from their now. I'm Will," he said, extending his hand for a handshake.
