I'm quite familiar with the show and while the concept itself could certainly fit within the overarching setting, I'm not sure it would necessarily fit with the Vanguard itself.
They're very morally driven and I can't think of a situation in which they would partake in such things.
Like... I could see some experimenting going on in Varnathus to utilize those kind of tactics, but even if the Vanguard where to stumble across such individuals, their most logical course of action would be to restore the original, not to turn it into a weapon for themselves.
This roleplay is more or less meant to be a bit of a contrast to the grim-dark feel of Chains of Retribution. It's a roleplay that focuses on the hope and resilience of humanity (I use the word humanity loosely since not all characters are human) against seemingly insurmountable odds. The Vanguard are your unwavering beacons of light standing against the dark do they're less shades of grey and not likely to utilize their own members as tools.
That is unless you were planning this to be an independent voluntary character ability rather than something done to them, in which case the characters themselves temporarily replace their personas with ones they have created for specific purposes. That would make it more viable that the Elysian Vanguard would utilize such an individual.
