"To think I had plans to end you for that. Very well then, we shall call truce, but the slightest sign of mutiny against our team from external teams will be met with elimination that is as immediate as possible. I have decided to discard my reasons to end you, since you have claimed that your attack on me was mere accident, do not give me another."

Megatron crosses his arms.

"If we are the fourth team, tell us more about your team, as well as the other two teams...

... and I suppose that now that you have introduced yourself, I will as well. Nadine, I am Megatron."

"I can't? What a crying shame. I was hoping to hear some cute screams," Larxene chuckled lightly, still barely able to conjure anything more than small sparks of electricity, as the woman named Nadine advised something about meeting another "team." The vixen wasn't in the slightest trusting of her, and even if she was a "good" person -- such an arbitrary term in any case -- what did it matter? Still, she'd hear Nadine out, if only because she could be useful.

Pursing her lips slightly, Larxene lowered her hands, holding her hips. "Fine, then. But make it quick. Don't think for a second that you can get the drop on us, though. I'll play along with your little game... for now."

Will Nines

Will looked over at Akande very confused. They had only ever lost Loki as of right now. He tilted his head and wondered- was it possible that.... " My memory is a bit fuzzy, how many have we lost Akande?" He asked.

@Yun Lee

Akande nodded towards Cole and Kokichi. "They are the only two survivors of a death trap, if memory serves. I'm not sure how many died in their original group."

"She's right mister Cole... We were all advised to work together after all. So killing her wouldn't really get us anywhere..."

Ashe would state towards Cole seeming to have taken Nadine's side currently. He now turns his attention to Nadine curious about her and these other teams mentioned.

"Miss Nadine...? I'm Ashe Bradley and I hope our teams can work together..." Ashe spoke deciding to introduce himself as well since others were asking the questions he wanted to ask.

Nadine seemed conflicted for a moment, but eventually she began answering the group's questions. "It's been almost two weeks now. The team that woke up first ended up controlling most of the city. We came in second, but ended up getting mostly decimated by the first team. Then the third showed up, giving us a distraction to fall back to the tower and take it over..."

She sighed and shook her head. "There's only five of us left. Most of us were killed, but some of us were killed by..." She pointed to her own bracelet.

"This is such bullshit," Cole said with a groan. "We have an advantage by coming in last! If there's only five of you, you can't do anything for us."

"That's not true," Nadine said. "We have people left who are experts with tech and weaponry. One of my teammates made the arrow that short-circuited your robot."

"Ahuh..." Cole did not looked convinced.

"You'd think this game would be so simple as to come down to one team surviving until the end?" Kokichi shrugged. "I wonder what the point is~..."

"...a city?" Akande repeated that tidbit. "You mean, this place we're in is an entire city? Are there any civilians, or is it only us now?"

Like a film unfolding before him, Izuru Kamukura locked his gaze upon the events that weaved in and around him, like a tapestry of violence. He sighed (as he is oft to do at this point), intending to move away from the growing crowd and isolate himself within his observing bubble for the umpteenth time. That is, until the wristband itself crackled to life again, this time with something that his diety-like interest couldn't possibly ignore.

Izuru pushed up the sleeve of his ebony coat and observed the words on the wristband like a businessman does a watch.

"... huh?"

The veil of god-like disinterest seemed to shatter for a split second as the widening eyes of something more akin to a human being watched the words scroll across his wristband.

The second passed, and so did that minute trace of life in his eyes. Izuru sighed. He didn't spare any words. The action itself was of literally no interest, but something was disconcerting about what it represented.

Forbidden actions, multiple 'teams' pit against one another; this situation became more and more like a true 'game' with each word that left the mouths of these boring people. Pieces being slid across a board, ultimately accomplishing some greater goal that couldn't possibly be realized in any other manner. These developments made it difficult for even Izuru to find any patterns to analyze; there weren't many opportunities for him to use his talent to cultivate a solution.

Even if he wasn't what he was, even if he had a fraction of interest or care for these people, the Ultimate Hope could not solve this issue instantly.

Would it be easy? Yes. If given a chance, it would be extremely easy to end this irritating pointless charade. But there is a presence that is actively ensuring it would not be effortless. It wouldn't be instant. It would require Izuru to recognize that there is a fraction of him that isn't perfect.

There is a level of unpredictably and uncertainty that makes it... how should Izuru put this... It was uncomfortably familiar. Like there is someone somewhere that is trying to prove a point, even if they aren't here right now.

This wasn't boring. This wasn't very interesting either. It was...

Without saying much to his own 'team', Izuru began to retreat from the crowd until the woman (her name is irrelevant at the moment) piped up about something, which brought the suited figure to a halt.
"That's not true," Nadine said. "We have people left who are experts with tech and weaponry. One of my teammates made the arrow that short-circuited your robot."

The Bloodharbor Ripper was sorely disappointed to find out that he hadn't found his target. He'd gone crazy with anticipation, thinking he finally had the Overseer cornered. Still, his eyes stared at Nadine, never once blinking, and he couldn't seem to shake the sight of her being on that dreaded ship, watching him drown. She must've been a midshipman too. He strained to listen in with his now nearly-deaf ears (no doubt a result of the Deep's influence), wanting to make sense of the situation before he rushed in madly and killed the woman. He was able to make out something about teams and forbidden actions and whatnot. He raised his arm and looked at his wrist, reading the message. He clenched his fist, his mind returning to him and his ears undeafening, as his anger was redirected toward a different person once again: the Overseer. How could he get by without doing something so basic?!

He looked back at Nadine, containing the rage within him that burned so passionately. How could he let someone, who attacked his own crew, go? Because he noticed that the Overseer had purposefully given favor to the first team, which really pissed him off. Captains always had their favorites. Why didn't all of the teams wake up at the same time? In a way, Nadine was also a victim. If he didn't work together, then perhaps neither of them would live to get revenge on the Overseer.

"I'm listenin'," he began reluctantly, "but if you backstab us, then you'll be gulpin' your last breath."

"Don't touch me," Isa said grumpily, shrugging Larxene off of him as he made his way for the right staircase door. Kokichi shrugged and followed after, with Cole deciding he wanted to be where the action was.

"We might as well all go together," Cole said, trying to herd the cattle that was just milling about.

The plants did not work on Will's body, for it seemed it only worked on biological individuals. The plan of action that proceeded worked as intended, setting off the next explosion so that no one got hurt. All that was left was the ladder into the next room. It seemed entirely unclear whether there was a trap ahead or not, but one member of the group cared little about the possibility as he moved on ahead.

"I'm bored of this already," Cole said, practically leaping up the ladder. Once he was out of sight, the group could hear him audibly grunt, followed by a female voice yelping. "It's clear!" Cole then yelled.

It was safe to proceed from there, though Megatron would destroy part of the ceiling when coming up to the next floor. The sight above was Cole standing behind a woman, holding her arms behind her so she couldn't get away. She had on a red leather jacket and ripped pants while her hair was done up in a long ponytail of dark brown hair. A bow was on the floor, looking modified with metal and tech. The room itself was likely once an office space, though the table and chairs were now pushed against the window to create a barricade.

The woman Cole held was about to speak when everyone's bracelets went off. "You have finally come face-to-face with a member of an opposing team. I will now activate your forbidden actions."

After saying this, a new message displayed, one that started with MUST NOT...

"If you perform the action you are told you must not to, you will die. There are no exceptions."

Cole looked down at his bracelet, but this gave the woman a moment to squeeze from his grasp and elbow him in the face. She then scrambled for her bow, but as she did so, Loki began to hunch over as if in pain. His bracelet flashed bright red and he opened his mouth to let out a strangled cry. Instead of dying right away, he first instead changed into another form entirely.

C7qe7uZ.jpg

The alien-like creature that was once Loki fell to the ground and writhed in pain. Parts of its face began to bloat as if diseased, After a few moments, it lie still.

"What?" Isa breathed, stepping away from the dead body. The bow-wielding woman trained her bow on him, though he seemed too shocked to care. "Why was he turned into that? Is that what will happen to us if we--?"

"No," said the woman, turning instead on Cole, who looked ready to rush her. "You just die."

"Then I guess he was just a lie, wasn't he?" Kokichi mused. He seemed absorbed in whatever it said on his bracelet.

Cole laughed. "Girl, you're really outnumbered. Should have run when you could." The woman only stared back at him.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, a dead body lay under the sheet. It was just a regular human as far as anyone could tell. He had been here for a few days at least, though it seemed particularly warm in the tower, so it was difficult to tell. Unlike the body in the basement, this one had definitely been killed with sharp weaponry.

it was then that the bracelets went off. "You have finally come face-to-face with a member of an opposing team. I will now activate your forbidden actions."

Dhaos brow furrowed in anger as he read the message. The indignity of it all! Looking over the body one final time before tossing the sheet back over it. "This one did not die by the disease, but by someone else. I think I've seen enough," Not waiting to see if the others followed Dhaos left the room and instead headed towards the right staircase door. Perhaps the others had found something useful.

Crap. What an annoying forbidden action. It'll certainly make cooperation and communication dangerous AND awkward. Especially since everyone else also got a forbidden action, considering their expressions. Still, what could Lucy do? She was drawn a bad card, and now, she'll have deal with it. Or find a loophole....

Gah, just a body. Absolutely nothing of importance. Although...this meant that definitely, there was a strange past around this tower. What happened? Did the Overseer kill them, or did she take over after there was an incident?

Well, the past was the past. Why should she care? It didn't even include her.

Lucy looked at the body, and flippantly walked away. Nothing more to know. She had far more deserving things to care about. The diclonius headed over to the over the staircase, the one with a hell of a lot of noise coming from it.
-----------

What the honest hell was going on?
Lucy had walked in just after Nadine had explained herself, and although she heard some of it, some things did not add up. Why were a bunch of criminals ruling a city? Much less, criminals from completely different planets(?). Why were they in teams? What will they have to do?

Lucy was going to be completely blunt. If it wasn't for the fact that the woman was far stronger then her physically, then Lucy would've killed her. She attacked a member of her group (prefering not to use ally), and was agressive at first? Who was to say this whole team thing wasn't a battle to the death? A survival of the fittest?

And also that her team was technologically advanced, even if only a few were left. And Lucy supposed that teaming up would mean five less people to take care of. Still, Lucy had no idea what was going on. Where was Loki? What was that digusting piece of barely-sentient trash that lay on the floor? Could anyone tell her what was going on, without asking her something in return?

Lucy gritted her teeth and stepped closer to the woman.
"So you are Nadine. You better show us those abilities of yours. We all need it, especially your team of five. And...don't you dare break this alliance between our teams."

Sure, Lucy didn't agree with pouty Izuru over there claiming that their team was objectively useless. But they're team could still be a burden. Why not warn them? Give them everything they want, and no backstabbing.

Dagran had remained silent at the exposure of the body, his brows furrowing at the forbidden action on the screen of the object on his wrist. It shouldn't be too hard, right? He could work around it...right? Nodding lightly at Dhaos, the mercenary followed to regroup with the rest, and placed a hand on his hip at the sight before him.

"What exactly happened here?" He asked, unknowingly pointing to what was once Loki with a raised brow, deciding not to say anything about Nadine's team joining there's for now.

"Interesting..."

Thaal muttered, strumming on the side of his gauntlet. Even without the jaws of a cell closing in on every side, the overseer had made them prisoners none the less. How the mighty had fallen... from a Lantern to a Leader to a God to Revolutionary... and now to a Prisoner and Slave. The very notion of it all sickened him. Thaal was a man who had endured many, many elaborate forms of shame over the years, but following orders? Now that was a scar he had never gotten used to. Thaal Sinestro was nobody's pawn. Not Oa's. Not Parallax's. Not the Overseer's.

The Yellow Lantern was a shaker of worlds, a shaper of peoples. He was a leader- not that he would admit to being so in front of Pike, of course. No... for now he would have to play by the petty rules the Overseer had lined out for them. For now, they would simply have to beat her at her own game.

"So... the Game is afoot after all...and our grace period has finally come to an end, not with a whisper... but with fanfare. Snarling, screaming fanfare..."
The woman let out a deep sigh and lowered her bow.

HHIaH6D.png

"You're the fourth team then," she said, before placing her bow on the ground, apparently wanting to comply. She shifted her face to Megatron. "I fired upon you as I believed you to be... a different team."

"Teams...?" Isa said a bit shakily, rubbing at his forehead.

"Yes, we were told that there would be four in total, but up until now... You are the last to arrive."

"So we kill you and move on?" Cole asked, though he wasn't waiting for an answer. "Great, let's get going--"

"Wait!" exclaimed the woman holding up her hands. "You can't blindly fight everyone! The teams outside this tower... please work with us. My name is Nadine. I can take you to the others."

"Hmm..." Sinestro hummed to himself, his heavier hand pressed against his chin "The assassin confesses to her crime? You call for us not to 'fight blindly', yet you just admitted to attacking us blindly? Then again... dead lips tend to tell the most flamboient of lies..."
Four teams? Now this was really something! Four teams, and with this forbidden action...well. This was going to be good.

"A shame we lost so many so early," Akande said, shaking his head. "I can only imagine how many people the other teans have."

@Atomic Knight @Lucky @Crow @Ottonomous Ghost @Crimson Spartan @ShadowCoyote0 @Gummi Bunnies @Everyone
"On the flip side, the other 3 teams have been on the front lines much longer than we have... should Nadine's team truly have but 5 members remaining- presuming this isn't just a rouse to lure us into an ambush- we could easily still hold an advantage over our contemporaries. Teams 1, 2 and 3 have been exhausting themselves for the past few rotations... whilst we've had the privilege of just waking up from a nice long nap. This is a war of attrition, and a war we have a distinct chance of winning..."

"And what talents do you have?" Kokichi asked, looking toward Izuru. "They must be quite remarkable for you to make that kind of claim, right?"

Nadine looked hesitant once again, though soon she looked a bit upset. "They're all dead," she said to Akande. "It was a city of the dead when we woke up. As for the other team..." She closed her eyes and nodded at what Megatron then said. "They have a robot like yourself. One who has killed many. As for what happened to this one..." She opened her eyes and looked down at the alien who had once been Loki. "... Defying the bracelets should only mean you die, as I said. I do not know why he changed."

Cole crossed his arms. "They're desperate. They'll say whatever they have to so we don't kill them. They're pretty much dead already." He then tilted his head to the side in thought. "Hold on, do any of those teams have, like, special powers?"

Nadine nodded her head sadly. "To a degree. There are those in our team who had similar powers, but they were weaker than the first team. In the end, they could not survive."

Cole grunted. "Okay, so, I guess while we get the advantage of waking up later, the first team has more of their powers open to them."

Dhaos said something surprising in regards to Isa's point. "I...agree with the boy." He looked over the group, arms folded, before he continued. "As I already stated more people will be a boon to us rather than a bane. I do not...see the harm in lending our ear, yes?" For anyone who was good at reading bodies, it was clear that Dhaos was being very tense as he said all of this, but was it because he truly believed in what he was saying or was it something else?

Noticong the way Dhaos was talking and acting, Akande couldn't help but smile. He could wager a guess what his forbidden action might be. As for himself, he crossed his arms and smiled at Nadine, not seeming to be bothered by his own forbiggen action. "I agree with the others! Even with fewer numbers, having a base like this tower could help, especially if those other teams are dangerous as Nadine says."

"I say we split up," said Candi, having already grinned at her forbidden action. Her's was interesting. Especially considering what had happened. But looking at people like Lucy, Larxene, and Niskiki... she knew that she couldn't afford to tell them. For now, she'd just stick to the plan and try to follow the rule she'd been given. "I doubt that they're all together in one big happy clump. In fact, I bet that they're scattered, too. If we split and then we find at least two groups, it'll all be evened out, and while they have the powers, we have the.... waking up later, I guess."

Candi shrugged. "We should always split up all the supplies then, like those good ol' healing herbs that girl and I got. We wouldn't want anyone getting hurt, right?" Candi chuckled before continuing. "Followin' up with this, we should probably have a couple big guys in each group to tank damage and general protect anyone. I'm not sure if it'd be safe for me to use my hair again," Candi half-lied.

"You're correct"

Thaal interjected, stumbling over the words as if the very notion of praise was alien to him. Regardless of what the group's decision was gravitating towards, Sinestro was growing impatient; every moment they wasted discussing the matter was another second as a stationary target- their first encounter may have resulted in minimal casualties, but the second attack? The third attack? Sinestro didn't intend to throw lives away so early on in their escape plan... or he had least didn't wish to jeopardise the safety of his more useful 'troops'.

Time such as these reminded himself as to why he chose the path he was walking. Democracy was so... ineffective. True leaders- strong leaders- needed to make decisions on behalf of the cattle. One could not expect cattle to make the best decisions for the farm. In times of Crisis, swift, ruthless decisions needed to be made... how fortunate it was that Sinestro possessed both a swift and ruthless mind...

"The tower is the obvious place for us to set up camp; from there, we can survey the environment and get a better idea as to the placement of the other groups. I doubt any of the other factions have the power to level the tower of their own; stairways and elevators should provide us with enough choke points to thin their forces should they try to overrun us with numbers alone. For now... I supposed that...oh, how does that old Earth phrase go... ah, yes... 'the only way is up'"

"Without communicators, we'd only be making ourselves vulnerable, Candi" Thaal raised a pensive eyebrow as he broke away from the group and began to search for a way to climb higher up the tower, shouting back over his shoulder as he paced the room "Say- for the sake of the argument- you find enough guns and drugs to fuel a militia. How would you bring them back to us? How would you transport them? Until we need to establish a base camp before we start laying out supply lines... that said, I admire your zeal. I assure you, we won't be bottled up in here for much longer. Soon you'll have a chance to... let your hair down, so to say. We'll need all the manpower we can muster for our first offensive..."
