There are many treasures and uncharted lands to be found.
There are many rogue-mages to be hunted.
In this world….
Mages are hidden from regular human society.
Mages stay within their communities.
Mages will protect these communities from supernatural threats.

In the Inner Circle all mages are equal. A battle of mages is like a game of chess. It’s tactics that get you to win. Every Mage-Born has equal power to another mage.

In this roleplay you are a mage in modern day hidden within the Inner Circle Society or even a small mage community. There are 3 Inner Circles in the world total that compete against each. Mostly the characters will engage in duels within their own community. The mage community is all about respect and honor. Those who disrespect the code are thrown out of the Inner Circle Communities. This roleplay will take place mostly around one of the hidden societies. Your character can interact in a number of mage activities: You can learn magic in the mage university, dual other mages for fun or to the death, Hunt artifacts or Rogue-Mages that are mage Criminals, You can even hunt supernatural creatures in the rare instance that they actually appear, And lastly you may enter in a mage war if a big enough threat arises. There’s plenty you can do in the Inner Circle.

The plot is decided by the roleplayers. Each may have their own sub plots that intertwine into a bigger plot later or even have it become an important part of the main story. Each player may have their own main plot if they desire

Um there a re plenty of types of magic. Like you create youre own style of magic really. But mostly youre spell may fall under multiple categories. and if its mysterious they have an unknown magic study to identify such magic to better understand it. I have a crap tone of lore and classes in google docs if your interested. but if you want the basic gist thats it. Usually a mage will use their basic magic through out battle. They also have defnsive spells like disperse which interupts magical waves to disband a spell. but that cost mana. Also their is a special spell know as a 'checkmate' where if all the right circumstances are met and the proper situation a mage can perform a spell that is basicallly a game winner hence the name checkmate. however that may be hard to perform at times if a foe is defensive. but also if you reveal your chechmate it may not work on them again and if there is an audience other people will understand how it works. Theres also a final act spell which is a spell that is basically stored up magic that takes a few days to recharge and it is a really powerful spell. that is really useful if used properly. Though i say it's like chess because its suppose to try to be tactics. this doesnt mean a player cant be agressive. but it just means they aren't or shouldn't be overpowered. Though sometimes with an artifact they would be.
 
Oh summoning definitely is.
so is using puppets through magic.
And even having a pet.
summoning isnt just restricted to creatures it can also be weapons. Though more powerful weapons and creatures can be very stubborn.
Also knowing how to summon the first thign amage learns is to create their own spaces in time. like they can store spells or weapons into. This is because once they learn how to create a invisable space in time esentailly creating a plane of existance and connecting to it and opening it often teaches them how to connect to other planes to open gate ways essentaily. also the whole mini planes they create are only visable when open so they can be used for a suprise attack to cast spells lol.

I'm going to do summoning wizard then. Probably. Maybe combine that with elements and make elementals.
 
Elementals do exist though as a common pet tbh and ghosts. other supernaturals are rare. lol funnily enough wizards exist in this world. they are a type of mage that does studies to have more knowledge then power haha
