“They might be planning to attack. We’ve attacked them once.. They might be reading us, assessing us.” Alonso gripped his rapier tighter, looking over at the group. “We might be entering one of their witchcraft tricks..”

Schala put a hand to her head, wincing as the sharp pain coursed through her head, and she saw those figures. It threatened to make her feel fear again, but she once more swallowed those feelings as they trudged forwards, eventually reaching the top of a mountain, where they could see shadows.

Observing Ben and the others attempt to communicate with the shadows, and Deoxys attempt to touch it, she herself gave Ben a trusting smile, then stepped forwards, as if trying to walk off the cliff.

Although, she was preparing to either step back, or catch herself if she felt she was really going to fall, or her life was in danger. It seemed like her way of testing the intent of these shadows...​

“Niña qué haces!? You are going to get killed!” Alonso chimed, sucking his teeth to get her attention and to stop her from what he thought may be her end.

I mean, if I was some all powerful Great Spirit, I would definitely go somewhere that I won't get bothered. ❞ The yakuza shrugged when asked about his guess on where their destination was. Even then, if they knew more than they did now, there wasn't much else to pick out from their surroundings that screamed out "Great Spirit Hideout" to them.

An eyebrow of his raised in perplexed caution when it came to the shadowy wisps appearing before them once again, not really doing much.

❝ Uh... does it want us following it or something? Don't think we can follow it from a goddamn cliff though... not like this. ❞ If those shadowy wisps were trying to get their attention, that was the only other possibility he could think of. Seeing Schala try to see if technically walking off the cliff towards the wisps did anything, Majima was very well prepared to pull her back if need be.

Ludger grit his teeth. "We are not finding doors," Ludger said to Will, holding his head. "Opening doors Is the exact thing we should not be doing. There is plenty here eager to lure us away from our goal."

"Perhaps the Great Spirit wishes for us to find it?" Eleanor reasoned. She smoothed down outfit. "I imagine it's hard to say what that was now."

Ludger nodded and gestured for the group to follow him through the park and toward the edge of the mountain. He listened in on the talk about Revanchist and spoke up. "Whoever Revan was matters little now. He helped form the Coalition but then committed the ultimate betrayal. We've known for a long time now that he has been working against us, but he has been eluding us for just as long."

Meceliss winced at the pain suddenly inside her head. Just as it disappeared, she started to raise and reinforce her mental defenses. Ready to defend against another attack should it have been mentally. "Perhaps who is he was does matter little, but his experience matters a lot." Meceliss said in response to Ludger.

Just before Schala stepped out into open air, Ludger reached out and grabbed her from behind to pull her back, fearing the worst. "Wait!" he exclaimed, watching as Deoxys was in the middle of touching the shadow.

As the Pokémon made contact, a strong breeze picked up, one that felt refreshing compared to the usual dark winds present in this world. The Pokémon heard a faint whisper on the wind.

"Wreckage."

Keaton held his head a moment confused and somewhat hurting for those few seconds. The dull roar left in his head annoyed and confused the poor wolfskin as he tried to understand what was going on. Regardless he moved with the others to the cliff.

Thankfully Ludger stepped in and pulled Schala back at least some people had some sense! Why was she planning to walk off the clip towards the spooky wisps anyways? Why was no one else trying to stop her...? Keaton himself wasn't looking at the cliff during that time but now is as he saw Deoxys touch the shadow.

Thankfully Ludger stepped in and pulled Schala back at least some people had some sense! Why was she planning to walk off the clip towards the spooky wisps anyways? "What the-" Diamondhead seemed a bit shocked, realising that Schala didn't take into account Ludger saving her before she could even start free-falling. He then turned attention to Deoxys' little conversation with the shadows.

Deoxys swayed in the air as the shadows did, gently moving with the wind as it flowed past and around it. A comforting, almost familiar sensation that nibbled away at the Pokemon's rough exterior. It silenced the noise of the others within its mind, allowing on the whisper to speak - so that it may hear and understand.

"Wreckage."

Deoxys repeated the first word it could hear, loud enough for Ben and the others to listen. The alien maintained its soft contact with the shadow, hoping to hear something else. In the meantime, the word it had spoken to its allies - and the meaning behind it - would have to be deliberated between them as it attempted to coax another scrap of info from the elusive entity.

Schala was surprised when she suddenly felt herself being tugged back, but realizing that it was Ludger, she calmed down a little. She had after all intended to back up herself if she found that there was really nothing to step on.

"Strange. I thought there was-... Nevermind. I'm sorry I scared you." She said, blushing a little as she turned around to face Ludger, Ben and the others.

eventually though, she frowned again as she too watched Deoxys float towards the dark whisps.

Her eyes wandered towards the place they were hovering, as she tried to see if the shadow was pointing in any particular dragon. Hearing Deoxys mention the word that shadow had spoken to it though, she started to contemplate the meaning behind the word. Feeling the warm, almost refreshing breeze suddenly pick up, she seemed to relax a little.

"Maybe that's where the Great Spirit is hiding. In, 'wreckage'." She said thoughtfully, putting a hand to her chin.

With that in mind, she tried to identify the direction the breeze was blowing, and at the same time, search the horizon for something that could be considered "wreckage". Perhaps even in this seemingly desolate place, there would be something that stood out to them now?​

"This entire planet is practically wreckage. Maybe we need something more specific... or try the word in a different contexts," Diamondhead adds.​
 
Kitty still covered her head, and was hunched over, as what was left of the plants still remained in her hands. She swore she could have heard something! Anything! But...the words escaped her, like it was just on the tip of its tongue. Dang it Will. Taking a deep breath, she put her hands down, but then quickly put it on her stomach, as Kitty felt sick. As in, she was about this close from barfing, she needed a barf bag before something else happens and she loses her stomach's contants.

And now, those shadows that danced among those plants that were simply wrong, now stood on the top of a mountain. It was like a challenge, who is the fool who will go up the mountain to meet these questionable beings that would likely rather be left alone? And probably get thrown off to their death? That fool, was Kitty. Luckily, she was stopped by Deoxys giving them a clue that was attained through far more safer means.

"Wreckage. Remains of something that has been wrecked, aka smashed or broken forcefully. Also has sea connotation, and their synonyms are jetsam, flotsam and ligan. Well...the word in pretty much all contexts have the same meaning, so if we're to be more specific, we're going to have to go for wordplay. Or just ask that weird DNA thing if it can get anyone information."

Maybe- Kitty had the power of future sight, surely she could find the answ- No. Kitty was going to wait, until all options were exhausted. Then she could split her head open trying to console answers.

The shadows dissipated and the wind blew lazily away from the mountain cliff. Ludger crossed his arms, considering the discussion. "You're right," he said, looking to Kitty. "Wreckage sometimes implies the water. There's a structure collapsed halfway in the lake near those spires." He pointed to where the city met the lake. "The structure looks out of place."

"It almost looks familiar..." Eleanor said absently.

After a moment, Ludger nodded. "I don't see anymore of those shadows, so perhaps they've said what they will. That probably gives us at least two areas of interest. That structure half in the water and those factories emitting smoke. Well, assuming we can trust this information."

A flash of green light turns Diamondhead back into Ben.

"Sounds like a split-up," Ben comments. He squints, looks and evaluates the group. "Or is it a better idea for the whole gang to go as one?"

All things taken into account, he was the only one in the whole shebang who had the means to fully adapt to underwater situations.

Yet the factory was strangely... bustling with activity.

But if splitting up was in order, then he would wait and see what others would feel, and where they might want to go.

“The smoke.. If it’s still in the sky, then it would most likely be recent. Mira, it’s the best we can do, to split up and cover more ground. We have a reasonable force. I say some of us go to the factory, and some of the others toward the water.” Alonso nodded his head in confidence, albeit with a bit of deception in mind. He was a bit unsure and frankly frightened by the situation, but their choices were little.

Frank was already sitting on his cosmic powered bike ready to make his way over the water. "Yeah you guys can stand and chill here, I'm going to get some results."

"I don't think we have a choice. I don't like the idea of splitting up either, but we do get to cover more ground this way," Touma responded to Severa seriously, "We'll just have to put faith in ourselves and each other not to take any unnecessary risks. I'm sure that sounds easier said than done between the... submerged structure and the smoking factories, but all things considered, we can't afford to be careless, especially in a place like this."

The boy could only hope that his Imagine Breaker would be able to dispel any sorts of illusions that might come their way. This world seemed rife with all sorts of mind games and tricks, but of all things, the fear that it fed off was more than likely the fear of the unknown. Not knowing what was here, or why it was here. It fed off human nature.

But he knew he had to be above those negative influences if he wanted to get anything done here, where the influence of malevolence was at its strongest.

So he forced a smile despite the grave situation.

"I know that, but it's as Touma says- we'll need to cover more ground since our enemies are acting fast too... also, I made this a short while ago."

Ben hands Severa a lance made of the same green-hued crystal as his recent transformation.

"It's not the most durable thing, but I thought it'd do the trick for now. If light's hitting you, try refracting it away with that."

Ben's eyes widen at the sight of the Cosmic Ghost Rider driving off to the submerged building.

"Can he do that? I know what it's like to have a head like that and you could honestly die if you dip yourself in too much. Should I accompany him?"

Ben looks towards his various allies to see where they might be going before he solidifies his decision.

“I will go to the factory. Maybe there are some sort of signs of life there. And answers.” Alonso brushes his forehead with his arm, and clicks his tongue. He looks into the distance, thinking of the short journey ahead. “Preparaos, for the journey ahead is one of many that we have.. and that I suspect will not be an easy one.”

So it seemed like they had two places to check. Keaton took in the names of both locations and considered where he should go. After a few minutes of this he simply couldn't decide where to go and so he looked over at Corrin for a moment.

"Hey Corrin....you have an idea on which to go to...?" He decided to ask her on this. She was really smart after all and always knew where to go or what to do. As much as he didn't want to admit it Keaton would most likely get lost if she wasn't the one leading anyways.
