"There's obviously another entity at hand to interfere with whatever we're doing. They're really good at hiding despite us being in the middle of literally nothing...

... unless they're outside this nothing?"

@Yun Lee @Crow @Hahli Nuva

Will nodded in response to Ben's suggestion. They very well could be puppets pulled by their strings, bending to the wishes of another darker, more powerful being.

"What if we combine our powers? With enough force we might be able to overload whatever or whoever is controlling this."

@Crow @Yun Lee

"If creating doesn't work, then we should the opposite. After that the guy will come out to gloat. Like clockwork."

Alien X creates a circle in his hands as it pulsates throughout the void as reality altered.

"Motion carried. Destroy this supposed 'void'."

Will nodded and charged War Song, running her palm along the flat of the blade which charged it with Quintessence. She then twirled the blade over her head and launched a succession of strikes against the void, creating a deadly dance of swift yet graceful blows that were a far cry from the angry, vengeful slashes Ben had seen before.

"Here we go! Take this!"

Nothing Ben did would work. Astolfo still bled, staring at Ben as though he himself had stabbed him. "How could you let me die, Ben?" He asked again, before the form shifted again.

"How could you let me die?"

Over, and over, people Ben cared about took form, dying and blaming him for their demise. The same question was asked over and over again, to the point where it embedded itself inside Ben's head, not giving him even a moment of peace.

"Do you see now, boy? Do you understand? You have no control, no power over anything. The world is lost, not just to you, but to all you love. You have failed everyone you know. And when the last Great Spirit is purged from existance..."

The figure removed their mask, revealimg nothing but an endless black void.

"There will be nothing left...but your own failure."

The void shot out from the mask, consuming Will, Ben, and the room itself. Ben and Will were now free of their nets...but did that truly matter, surrounded by complete nothingness?

Shan Yu turned to Guy, confusion momentarily written on his face. "Revan himself...?" Realization hit him, and he nodded. "Yes. Yes, of course." His eyes left Guy and looked downward as he began thinking out loud. "Even with the nets and emblems, we aren't protected from everything The Order could throw at us. Those already captured...there's no telling what they may have up their sleeves...!" He covered his mouth, eyes widening. "And I've gone and left all three of them unguarded..." He looked back to Guy, nodding towards the entrance of the prison. "Quickly! Come with me. We need to make sure none of the prisoners have escaped. They're the key to the Great Spirit."

Ren and Frank would converge together, finding a few Huns prepping dozens of nets for whatever came next. They would also notice Schala a bit of a ways off, talking to a large group. One of them pointed towards Shan Yu, who was walking towards the building's entrance.

"We're keeping everyone nice and safe in there," she said. "The boss is protecting them, and won't tell us anymore than that. I think I just heard him mentiom they're 'tickets to the Great Spirit' or something? I dunno. They must be important; he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to take prisoners."

"I see. Maybe I'll join him. If those prisoners are so important, we mustn't let anythin' happen to them." She said.

With that in mind, she made a move to head towards Shan Yu, picking up her pace as she noticed he was running, aiming to join up with him and Guy, hoping the former wouldn't regard her as anything more than one of his subordinates.

Oddly enough, there seemed to be no tangible way to touch the void, or even find an end to it. It was like lashing out at or trying to touch thin air. Was there even a point where the nothingness began or ended, or did it just stretch out into infinity?

Shan Yu didn't seem to notice the newcomer joining him as he continued on, seeming genuinely concerned about the state of his prisoners. "For all their talk, those two definitely were no ordinary mystics," he said. "If they were to escape..."

Will stopped attacking and dismissed her sword. nothing seemed to be working. the void seemed to stretch out everywhere.nothing but darkness and shadow. No light save for her and Ben.

Were they truly lost?

Alien X turned back into Ben with a flash of green light.

"... yeah let's just wait for something to happen for an hour or two. That's how it usually goes... then we can act again."

Ben takes a meat sub out of his jacket and starts biting on it.

"... you know, I'm starting to think that these fast food companies use some pretty impressive preservatives. I don't even know how long I put that sandwich in my jacket. Start of this whole series of missions, I think? How long ago was that?"

Wil sighed, smiling a bit as Ben dug into his lunch. She still had a lot she wanted to tell him. He had given her another chance, shown her that she didn't have to continue down her vengeful path. Will had been so shortsighted and lost in her own pain she failed to see the bigger picture.

And yet, here she was, stranded with the last person she expected. So she took a deep breath, and took the plunge.

"Ben...I want to ask you something personal."

Frank aimed two finger guns towards Ren when he spotted him in the crowd. "We should probably do something about these nets," Frank said leaning closer to Ren so that only he would hear him. "Then maybe go and rescue our pals? Maybe she's learned her lesson by now."

@Yun Lee @Kaykay @York @Sark

"How do you do it? How do you keep going when everything seems hopeless?" Will asked softly. She had been wondering this ever since he had shown up.

"My hands are soaked with the blood of my enemies. But not you, right? You always had another way to get out of situations."

@Crow @Yun Lee

"I have thought of soaking my hands with the blood of my foes before. Mostly Vilgax, but for those I actually came the closest to doing so - The Forever Knights and one of my closest pals, Kevin. I almost did it to Jiren and Othinus, but all that is history.

Well technically if you want to look at my record of killing sapient beings, I contributed in the killing of Dracula but the guys who really killed him are those great eldreitch abomination things that eat souls. Uh... long story. That's the same one where I met Astolfo. He's got a pretty nice Hippogriff that sleeps on its own bed beside Buddy's.

... well, I don't know how it works. I guess it just runs in the family, especially from Grandpa Max. He lost three partners before but look at how hardworking and unhindered he is...

... don't bring it up when you meet him next time.

Maybe hero time is more hereditary than I thought. Or maybe we all have something to cling to."

Huh. Guy had expected a little bit more resistance from the Revanchists. Maybe Hollywood had just conditioned him to expect to be asked for a string of Code words before being able to speak to the big cheese. Instead, Shan had taken the bait, hook, line and sinker.

"Right behind you, Sir!" Guy cried, sprinting alongside his new boss. "They'd be fools to resist us now. Then again, those Scum-Nuts in the Order are hardly the brightest of they're raising arms against us..."

'Keys to the Great Spirits'? Bingo. He'd let something slip. He'd have to keep pressing.

@York @Sark
"Aye Sir. They're strong. If they weren't, then we wouldn't be in need of all this security. Perhaps Revan would be lost for reasons to keep us around..."

He stopped for moment, letting his words linger for a moment. He had to push Shan the best he could without saying anything the might be seen as...'treasonous'.

"But we will remain vigilant, boss. If they so much as breathe, we'll be on them. But... say they do break free- what are our contingencies? How can we be certain that the nets will be enough?"

Guy lowered his tone and leaded over the Shan Yu's ear.

"If Revan's instincts are correct and we do have spies in our midst, we might need to update our security codes. Reboot our systems. Close our back doors. Beyond each other, we do not know who we can trust..."

Will giggled softly. Ben wasn't too diferent from her in having many different bad guys to fight, it seemed. But one thing stood out to her, even more than Ben's other foes.

"Hero time?"

"Classic catchphrase that I call out every time I do my thing. Every hero needs one...

... we've been in scenarios together like twice before, you honestly haven't heard me say that?"

Will blushed slightly for what must have been the third time that night.

"W-Well yes, but I thought it was just how you channeled your energy."

@Crow

"I'm not a magician, I'm a guy with an alien watch," Ben bluntly comments.

@Hahli Nuva

"You created an entire universe like five minutes ago, right? Sure it was fake but that's no magic trick, Ben."

Will then gave Ben a smile, punching him in the arm lightly.

"Not to mention you literally sword fighting me with the ACTUAL planet Earth! How crazy was that!?"

"That's just standard Alien X stuff. Alien X does that the same way Crashhopper hops, Diamondhead diamonds and Refrigerator effectively functions as one of those haughty rich ladies I see in my Japanese animes," Ben shrugs.
