"That's just standard Alien X stuff. Alien X does that the same way Crashhopper hops, Diamondhead diamonds and Refrigerator effectively functions as one of those haughty rich ladies I see in my Japanese animes," Ben shrugs.

@Hahli Nuva

"Well, sure, but YOU control when you transform and how you use your powers. As for me..."

Will took a deep breath. This wasn't easy to put into words.

"I don't remember if I told you, but there are supposed to be five Guardians of Kandrakar, not one."

@Crow

"Where'd the other four fly off to?" Ben asked.

@Hahli Nuva

"..."

Will was thankful the void was dark and Ben couldn't see her fighting back tears. Having to recall this moment was painful for her, but she knew that if she wanted to improve, she had to learn how to forgive.

"Do you remember when I was sent back to kill Ari's son? Well, Taranee, one of my closest friends found out I was going alone. She was the Fire Guardian, and my first friend I had made when I moved to Heatherfield."

Will summoned War Song so she had something to grip.

"She begged me to ignore The Oracle's orders, and take a stand against The Council with the other Guardians. I refused. I told her this would perserve the peace and that I had a plan. But she didn't accept that."

"... this is a story you don't want to talk about, isn't it?"

@Hahli Nuva

Will shook her head in response. She wanted to tell him. She trusted him, but trust was a two way street

"This is the first time I've spoken of it to anyone outside my realm. Only the other Guardians and The Oracle himself know. But to be honest, I need to get this off my chest to someone who I can trust or else it's going to consume me all over again."

The Keeper gave Ben a small smile before continuing.

"We fought. And I mean really fought. She even threw me into the damn sun at one point. We knew our bodies could take the punishment, so we just beat the shit out of each other until we let all of our anger out. But it wasn't stopping me from going."

Bullets and magical explosions lit the prison hall in a dazzling, deadly light as the Coalition exorcists fell to the might of the group. Eleanor was thankful for Kitty's words and so made sure to stay out of her way. Though Kitty's powers left her vulnerable, Deoxys' gravity powers made a counter-attack by the guards next to impossible. Ludger doubted the guards fell so easily in the past, but they at the very least knew that Velvet escaped from this place unscathed.

"We don't know exactly what happened," Ludger said to Meceliss. "All we really know is that the prison fell."

The last of the guards were put out of commission by Velvet and the silver-haired man, the latter of which directed the group further into the prison and eventually to a large vertical room. A sprawling metal staircase went up and down in a spiral, with the group at about the middle of the staircase.

"We can make our way out if we go down," Eleanor said, having once been here.

The silver-haired man waved this off. "No," he said, making his way for the stairs leading upward. "Better to put the prison out of commission entirely. That way, we ensure the least amount of resistance."

"Anything to cause a blow to Artorius and this... Coalition," Velvet said, following the man.

"Follow if you want," said the man to the group, "or leave. It's up to you."

Ludger sighed. Things would probably be fine if they diverged from here, but it was in the interests of the Coalition that they knew the truth of what happened here. "We should see it through," he said.

The spiral staircase connected to every floor of the White Prison from this central room. Normally guards and security checks kept the area in order, but everything was in complete disarray now. Not every floor was connected automatically and there were blockades at a couple points along the stairs. "Access the security panels and you can open the way," said the silver-haired man.

A couple of catwalks led to a room in the middle of the spiral staircase. The room had glass walls, allowing the group to see guards converging on a man trying to access the security panel inside the room.

"Drop the gun and put your hands in the air!" The guards had their weapons pulled and aimed at the man who was fiddling with the panel.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, hold on. I just need to get this thing moving. Man, the security in here, amirite? First have to go through a bunch of scrubs and then all these security doors. Yet the food was complete ass, what's up with that?" The man didn't seem to take the guards threat very seriously considering the calm manner he was working on the panel.

"You got five seconds to comply or we'll be forced to use lethal force! Five!"

"Look I told y-"

"Four!"

"I said hold o-!"

"Three!"

"You know how rude you're bei-?"

"Two!"

"Stop!"

"One!"

"Interrupting me!" Shots rang out into the air, but instead of the man working on the security panel falling dead the four guards pointing their guns at him fell, having been shot by what seemed to be hard light duplicates of the man that vanished once the deed was done. The man looked at the dead bodies and shrugged before turning around. "That's what happens when you're interrupting me." With a final push of the panel the security door opened up for him. "See ya guys later! Don't expect a good review of this place." He fired a shot at the panel causing the door to shut down behind him as he walked through.

Recounting one's darker memories was not a pleasent experience, yet Wil felt that with every revelation, her mind and spirit became less clouded. Even as they languished in the black nothingness, Will knew Ben could be trusted.

So, she continued.

"I went to Arkhanta alone. I knew I didn't want to kill anyone, but Kandrakar was watching. I could feel it. So, I cheated. I used The Heart to create Astral Drops of myself and Maqi, as well as Ari and his guards. The entire assault was staged. Kandrakar was pleased but my friends were horrified. Even after they saw it was an illusion they wanted nothing to do with me. They said I was nothing more than a puppet, a weapon for others to use. I felt their anger and pain as they turned their backs on me. They resigned as Guardians and I haven't heard from them in years."

Will toook a deep breath, sighing softly.

"I gave into my grief and anger all too easily. I felt betrayed and used, as well as powerless and weak. When I was sent to Ragnarok and i failed to save The Great Spirit, it hurt me even more so. I vowed to myself that I'd never be weak again. That nobody would lose or take another life. I may have lost everything but that doesn't mean others have to."

Me being the one protected, huh...

Touma said nothing as he mused on Severa's playful words toward him... or was that even the right word? Especially considering how she followed herself up later. But regardless, he said nothing to that, perhaps uncharacteristically so. He had to admit, the thought of a girl voluntarily stepping forward to protect him was nice, even if he was used to taking action for himself, but well... the boy didn't forget that his type was a little more... well...

Anyway.

As the "guards" were dispatched without much hassle, Touma went along with the prospect of following the silver-haired man. In line with what Ludger believed, even if the boy wasn't really a member of the Coalition, they ought to look into this incident if it did or could later impact them. If the latter was the case, these illusions -- echoes, memories even -- could definitely help them take a proactive step in shattering an illusion of truth that they'd held all this time.

As they all navigated through the hall, taking sight of a strange looking man making short work of some guards trying to apprehend him, Touma instinctively clenched his fist, but cursed under his breath knowing that this was all akin to a memory. Events that had already transpired, and even if they could interact with the illusion, it seemed there was definitely a limit to how much they could interfere with it.

As the strange man shot out the control panel, seemingly nixing their way forward unless there was a way around the door (or if they could just break through that door, prompting Touma to remember that time in the Fuse Facility when they made him try to open like two doors back to back with the same puzzle for no reason), the young man let out a harrowed sigh, unsure of what to make of it, until suddenly...

The silver-haired man seemed relatively unphased by this development. He reached his hand toward the control panel. Sparks that danced off the broken machine suddenly froze in the air. They then began to move in reverse and the small explosion that the bullet caused seemed to repeat this time, but now inversed. Ludger felt goosebumps on the back of his neck, realizing that the man had turned back time, just isolated to the control panel itself in order to fix it.

"That felt... familiar," Ludger muttered.

Witht the guards still dead, the silver-haired man walked into the room and accessed the control panel himself, opening the gate ahead so the group could pass. "I have a feeling we were not meant to witness this," Ludger whispered to the group.

They followed the silver-haired man further up the stairs, but were forced to stop when the stairs ended at open air. The section of stairs ahead was built in a way that it could be put away to deny access to the top floors. Another control panel controlled the stairs above and it was in a room in the center tower, but this one could only be accessed from above, meaning the group could not walk to it.

As they reached the "end" of the stairs, as far as they would take the group at least, Touma clicked his tongue, resting his hands on his hips as he looked around for a way to keep moving forward. He never had this problem of being stone-walled back home! "Great... Now what?" he could only utter aloud.

In the security room above, before one could think to make their own way up there, what looked like the shadow of a man stood inside the room, the security chamber too dark and dimly lit to allow one to see who exactly was there, but even so, even Touma took notice of him above.

"Hey, who's...?" He began to question, before suddenly, the chamber rumbled slightly as more stairs appeared for the group to continue their trek. Whoever the mystery man was in the security room, he had just granted access to the group, allowing them to keep moving forward, but for what purpose, who could say?

With another glance, the man was gone, his shadow gone completely as though he were never there, like a phantom.

to-aru-ma4jutsu-no-index-964441.jpg

"What... I could have sworn I saw someone there," Touma uttered in confusion. Was this a trap of some sort? It would have been easier to catch them off guard while they were in a place like this, so why help them, he wondered. But regardless of whether or not the mystery man had ill intent, Touma knew they had to keep moving, even if he didn't like it one bit.

...

Meanwhile, in a dark corner, away from the awareness of the group, the mystery man in question hunched over in a crouching position, watching them from afar like a silent stalker, keeping tabs on them with great interest, but never interfering with them.

His chalk white skin and otherwise unsubtle appearance surprisingly did little to expose him in the dark. Literally, a clown like him was able to hide shockingly well in a place like this, though perhaps that could also be attributed to his skills as a predator of sorts.

"Mm, like watching cookies in the oven," he chuckled to himself, conjuring up a heart with his strange power nonchalantly.

"Like ripe little fruits, just on the cusp of being pushed to their breaking point," he commentated to himself, "I see the game you're playing... so I'll let you carry it out, just so they can reach their full potential. But how far it'll go, it had better be worth it. If they yield too soon... that'd just be dreadfully boring."

And with that, he disappeared from the scene before anyone could take notice of him.

...

With that odd moment out of the way, the group continued up the stairs once again, soon reaching the top floor. "Some of the worst criminals... are held up here," Eleanor said in a small voice. She eyed the heavy-duty doors that lined the hall here and sighed. She followed dutifully into the next room, stopping behind the silver-haired man and Velvet as they were confronted by a pair of Coalition exorcists. One was male and one was female, but both had matching green eyes and blonde hair.

"Stop right there, daemons!" the woman cried. The man seemed more calm.

"Teresa," he said, "don't be so hasty." He took a step toward the group. "There are ladies among them. We should show them due respect. I am Oscar Dragonia, and this is my sister, Teresa. Who among you is the leader of this pack? Tell me, who are you?"

Neither the silver-haired man or Velvet responded. Ludger looked conflicted, while Eleanor looked outright in despair. "Oscar and Teresa... do they... not recognise me...?"

Velvet shook her head. "Sorry, we don't have time to chat. Move aside."

Oscar let out a disappointed noise and unsheathed his sword. "Very well. You may have numbers on your side, but my sister and are largely unmatched."

"Get back in your cages," Teresa said as magic cascaded around her. Fireballs erupted from the air and went flying at the group.

"Iibui! (Bouncy Bubble!)"

Buddy blew a giant water bubble and tossed it up into the air, before it split into many soccer ball-sized bubbles that dispersed, gobbling up Teresa's fireballs and homing in towards her and Oscar. If the fires within bubbles hit their targets, the damage would be great and their health would be drained back to Buddy.

They were homing in at a speed enough for others to still grab to improvise as weapons for other purposes though. Slamdunk time anyone?

The Eevee continued to sit on Deadpool's head to serve as an artillery cannon for the katana wielding anti-hero.

"Bui bui. (The bubbles are stronger than they look. Use them as platforms to jump on if need be, maybe grab one to bowl at something, since they also deal pretty heavy damage. Water is super-effective against Fire, Rock and Ground, and assuming the Fire inside has the same properties as my world... Grass, Steel and Ice and Bug are in pretty big trouble.)"

'Demons.' An ironic moniker, given the sort of enemies that Deoxys and its allies have encountered thus far. Being perhaps the most 'inhuman'-looking of the group, Deoxys regarded the pair of exorcists with a tilted head. The mental 'air' of the venue grew thin once Eleanor voiced her confusion. These were allies, Deoxys thought to itself as it watched the scene unfold like a human picture book - it hadn't much reason to intervene.

Deoxys never knew about these Coalition 'exorcists'. In those times, it was such a monger for information and data, how could it miss such a crucial detail? The days of the Strike Team were distant and muddled in uncomfortable memories. It was disconcerting to think about just how little the alien knew about this entity it had once opted to serve, let alone affiliate with.

It could recall a prison, though, and some of the problematic organisms that would be found within. Deoxys suddenly dashed the thought, its slender form visibly tensing up. The 'mental atmosphere' of the area went black and bristling, and Deoxys was already erupting towards the fore of the group before the blonde-haired male could brush the hilt of his weapon with his palm.

By the time it reached the 'frontlines,' the air had already exploded into a cloud of violence. Thankfully, Deoxys caught on with Eevee's plan (it had meant to communicate with the other... lesser pokemon earlier, only now did it show more independent tactical thought than the average Eevee) through telepathy, warping its frame around the suspended fireballs and allowing them to be reflected with little resistance. The Bubble Bounce would force the two exorcists to maneuver or otherwise defend against their attack.

Which allowed Deoxys a single second to power up. The greater pokemon of the two would let out a telltale buzzing noise, folding its tentacles inward towards its resplendent crystalline core. A ball of chaotic psychokinetic energy took shape, loud and riddled with warmth, expanding outward like a balloon and shaking the ground beneath the alien's body. Raw, insurmountable psychic power coalesced into a ball of chaos, to which Deoxys then leered towards the recovering duo and flung the ball toward with a force of will.

"No. I do not think I will,"
it venomously responded to Teresa.

DEOXYS used PSYCHO BOOST!

The destructive 'psycho ball,' hurtling through the air like the powerful meteor that had birthed its proprietor, had more kinetic energy packed into it than any of those preliminary fireballs that Teresa had launched. It was a harsh move to open up with, but Deoxys had an interest in testing the boundaries of this fake 'place'; to see if it could crack under raw power. Deoxys pondered what it would take to 'go off script.'

Deoxys was about to find out because if those two didn't move, they'd be vaporized.

Now that was a comfort to know. Looks Shan was a few prisoners short of a Grear Spirit key, and with Guy at his side, he had brought his team some time.

Still. The prospect of him putting the while facility on high alert threatened to undo off of their hard work. He had to think fast. He had to slow him down, it stop him all together. Think think think think...

He had to place himself inside Shan's shoes and feed upon all the Fury he could. Under normal circumstances, controlling an untethered construct took a dozen rings, or one really bad day, but tonight? Tonight Guy held in his palm the final Red Lantern Ring. Every last drop of the Butcher's blood flowed through him. He had all the power he needed to create something glorious. Someone glorious.

"Look, Sir! Over there!"

In a flash of light, a Red Lantern appeared between Guy the Hun, Shan Yu's and their exit. He resembled Guy's unaltered appearance, right down to the creases in his vest and the shade of the hair's on his chin.

"One of them! Behind you! Get dow--argh!!!!"

With a mental command, Guy's realistic 'construct' fired a blast of light down towards the leader of the Hun. Acting upon 'impulse', Guy continued to play the role of the loyal subject, throwing himself between Shan and the blast.

It hurt like hell, sure. But it was necessary for his performance. To any onlookers, a loyal Hun had almost laid down his life for his king. In reality, Guy Gardener had effectively shot himself in the chest as a sign of loyalty... And to force the Hun's commander into staying behind...

"At--a--at least we now know broke the prisoners free" The Real Guy growled through the pain. He stumbled to his feet and patted away the flames that danced across his cloak. He drew his sword. "I can't take him alone, Lord Shan. Lend me your strength... Brother... Let us send this filthy Order Bastard back to hell!"

Ow, ow, ow, ow. That spell hurt a ton to cast, and by the time she finished it, she was on her knees, having trouble regaining her balance. She couldn't tell if she cast holy or demonic magic, but given the pain she was in, it was probably demonic, huh? Getting up slowly to not put pressure on anything, she followed the others, holding her arm in pain.

As she saw the man kill the guards, Kitty had to put her hand on her eyes. They were illusions, actors who re-enacted scenes that have already happened that they could no longer change. But it was still upsetting, because Kitty knew that those guards did not survive the real prison break, Kitty didn't reply to the man casually snarking away his bloodbath, and put her hand away only when he disappeared. Only to put them back, this time pinching her nose bridge, when she realised what that man was doing. If there was something she hated more then teleportation and dark magic, it was time magic.

"Well, if someone did see this in the real prisonbreak, then we would know the details of the White Prison's fall, am I correct? But in order to know the truth....some rules have to be broken."

Kitty replied in a monotone way, looking down the floor while following the silver haired man with all the others. She was in a bad mood from all the injuries and the fact they were on the bad guy's side. Also that, the last sentence completely and utterly went against her morals. What also went against her morals, was the situation she realised she was in, when she looked up, to see two siblings. Oh no.
--------
"Of course they don't recognise you. We're playing the role of prisoners, we must look like the real thing to them. So. Did these two die in the real event?"

Kitty replied emptily, stepping forward, her head still down. She didn't want to do this, and she was far too tired to cast magic. Muttering something, a sword formed in her hands, likely taken out from her Corpus Ruby. She charged at the siblings, slashing any fireballs that came close. She didn't seem to be concerned about pain, but that was because she could endure pain pretty well. While she was being very very aggressive with the sword, she seemed to be intentionally trying to avoid causing any lethal damage.

"Why don't you go back in a cage and cry your heart out. We're not standing down, so that may be your best option."

Shan Yu watched the display in awe, mouth slightly hung open as all of this went down. But as Guy stepped towards him, the Hun smiled, nodding. "Yes...let's send him to Hell."

And that was when the net fell on Guy for the second time.

"Scree!" Shan Yu's falcon returned to its master, having snuck up on Guy while the lightshow went on. Shan Yu clicked his tongue, shaking his head, though a smug smirk remained on his face.

"I should honestly be insulted by how everyone seems to think me a complete imbecile...but on the other hand, it makes moments like these all the more enjoyable." He cocked his head to the side. "Did you really expect me to believe that Revan would send one of my own army with direct orders? The Huns answer to no one but me. Anything Revan says goes to me before them. I admit you acted your part with passion...I'm sure you enjoyed my acting, as well?"

Shan Yu stepped forward, before getting a good look at Guy. His eyes narrowed, and it appeared that something genuinely had surprised him. "That damned skeleton...I should have known better than to trust a mystic." He looked to the Huns nearby. "Find that Order scum and capture him, dead or alive! I've had enough of these annoying little spies and their games."

Without another word, he shoved Guy into the building, where the Lantern would tumble down...breaking his fall on Ben and Will. Both were still captive, both still in their nets...had the void been nothing more than an illusion? Well, they were both snapped out of it as soon as Guy crashed down on top of them.

"DDAAMMMNNN YYYOOOUU SHHAANMN YUUUU!!!!"
Guy cried as he vanished into the blackness of the pit, his rage over flowing. He could scream. He could spit. He could punch and cry. But he anger had long since slipped past the point childish expressions of emotion. He had been completely consumed by a silent fur.

His eyes were glassy. His breathing was slow. His mind was packed tightly with grotesque thoughts, which he fully intended to make grotesque realities the next time he met the Hun's master.

But to get there, he would have to lower himself. He would have to seek help from... Frank.

The Net had drained his ring dry, yet his reserves? They remained in hibernation. If he could throw one free of the net, he would have a chance. Flinging his Yellow Ring as far as he could, he waited for it to take flight, Guided by a silent order and engulfed in light.

The order was simple: find Frank Castle. Induct him into the Yellow Lantern Corps. Warn him of Shan Yu's coming. Maybe tell him where he, Ben and Will were being held for good measure. Remain in stealth mode until instructed to do otherwise.

Whilst he waited to see if his Yellow Ring operated whilst outside of the net, Guy turned back to Will and Ben. A tired, bitter look danced in his eyes.

"Seriously? You two are still here?"
