New User Salutations!

Nightwisher

A lost wish
Hello! My name is Nightwisher, though Night or Wisher will do. I originally started role playing when I was about eleven or twelve on a site about cats. Because life is like that some times. I was named Scartaln [sic]. So, if you were on the Warriors forums, and we were friends: bruh, hit me up.

I struggle with pretty bad dyslexia and started writing to combat it. Apparently, it helped a lot because I was nearly published when I was 16, thanks to a writing conference my brother put together. I got bored with the story though and never finished, but meeting with the agent was a pretty cool experience.

I specialize in writing that is meant to make people cry. Or at least myself and my friends.

If there's anything else you want to know, I'm an open book!

Close to! I got bored with the story I was writing (I found out a little late I'm more of a short story writer than a novel writer). But I did get to meet with an agent and all of that. It was a part of a writing conference my older brother put together. He'd seen my work and wanted me to go and present it. So I did, and the agent told me that if I ever finished the story, she'd publish it.

And so I went home, wrote a few more troubles, and realized that I had the beginning down, and the end. But the middle part to create a full length story was significantly more taxing than my 16 year old self was ready to put up with. So, I just stopped writing it completely. Kind of glad I did, to be honest. Being published would have been awesome! But looking back on the story, it had too many outside influences for it to really feel like my own work.

I get that, believe me. I'm working on my own, myself. I like to write all kinds of things, though from poetry to lyrics to short stories. I like anthologies. I might publish a book of my works, myself.

I write poetry as well! Lyrics not so much, but I was working towards a music degree for about two years at one point. Though, lyrics and music theory are two very different things.

I love editing works more than I like writing them, if I'm completely honest. My oldest brother has a few published poetry books out that I read over and helped edit before they were sent out, which was really cool.

Oh! That's really cool! Good luck with that, and when that happens, totally find me some time so I can be sure to buy a copy!

Absolutely! Anyway it was nice talking to you. If you're up for it, we can totally plot something, as well

Welcome to STC Nightwish. If you haven't had a chance to review the new member guide this would be a good time. Looks like you'll fit it here. What is your favorite genre to write?

I'd be down to doing that, Bartholomew! I'm pretty busy, so it may be a bit sporadic, I will admit.

Hello, Silence! Thank you ^-^ I will get to that definitely. I haven't been bale to take a good hard look at it, but I've skimmed it. My favorite genre is mostly realistic fiction. I've been working, incredibly haphazardly, on a story for about five years now about an secret organization called Team 73, which is -- for lack of a better term -- a special ops, 8 person United Nations (in principle, not Nations united). Something that could never happen, but at the same time, what if?

Though, I do also have a fantasy story that I've been working on as well, once again, haphazardly.

I care a lot more about character development than I do the actual story telling, if I'm completely honest.

Ah well, story telling is best when the writer takes time to develop the character. Character are what make the stories to begin with. So, since you like realistic type writing would you be the sort to enjoy a little political intrigue, or conspiracy theory type work?

Well, I am a Political Science and History double major, and I like to focus on the theory side of Poli-Sci. So I deal a lot with political intrigue, conspiracy work, ethics, and the human condition as a whole.

Haha, I was Political Science major with two minors and one of them was history. I think we could write some great stuff.

My college had career tracks, so I technically had a minor in pre-law. But it's really nice to meet another person who likes history, not going to lie. What was the other minor? If you don't mind me asking.

And I bet we could! What kind of things do you normally write?

My second minor was in Honors Inter-Disciplinary. I had thought about being a lawyer, but I'm happier having a life outside of the office and working as a law staff. Lol.

Usually I enjoy writing something secret agent, historical fiction, sci-fi and quite a few other things. Those are just the most common ones that I engage in. I'm not the biggest fan of romance, but I'll write a little bit of it. Slice of life is alright. I won't write anything that deals with demons, paranormal, witches, vampires, shapeshifters etc. I really hate those and especially zombies.

Nice! That's pretty awesome.

Same same. Though, I do enjoy romance, but less as something I write myself and more as something to role play. I feel like my personal romance stories never play out as naturally as I would like.

I do enjoy writing paranormal, and have had a few stories of it, though it's not my favorite but it's still fun. But different strokes, and I totally understand not liking those.
