"In a perfect world that would perhaps be the case," T'Challa replied solemnly. "But Dario Agger has too much power behind him. Anything we find will no doubt be cleaned up and vanish into the ether, but that wasn't the reason we did this," He admitted. "We need to know the why."

The rest of the journey went on in silence as they made their way back home, leaving Anakaris at his kingdom and pleasantries given they continued on to Wakanda. Landing in the palace T'Challa would step out of the aircraft down on palace grounds. "It will take some time to go through the information I've gathered. Considering your part in all of this I think it's important for you to see what the results have for us."

As they stepped out the duo was greeted by a woman.

"Brother, you have returned." She looked down at the device in his hand. "I assume that implies your mission was a success?"

T'Challa nodded. "Indeed it does. Menat, this is my sister, Shuri. If you don't mind," T'Challa turned his attention towards his sister. "Shuri, could you help our guest feel welcome as I try to solve the mystery of this. I'll summon you both the moment I find something."

"Of course, it's always nice to make new acquaintances after all."
Watching the king of Wakanda walk off Shuri turned her attention towards Menat. "I assure you will have a far more pleasant time in my care than you ever did with my brother. Are you hungry? You seem hungry."
@Yun Lee

The sudden grumbling in Menat's stomach answered Shuri's question for her. "Oh yeah, food would be lovely, thank you." She actually hadn't really eaten much at all save for a bit at the aution mingling, had she? Well, if Shuri was offering...

Man, the gratitude of two different kingdoms AND free food? Maggio was gonna be SO jealous!

@Jeremi

Shuri smirked at Menat's response. "Follow me then." She lead her into a smaller room where soon different food was placed on a nearby table. "Please, help yourself. As you dine perhaps we could have ourselves a little chat? Ever since the Convergence event I've been doing some research and tried to categorize what different worlds have come together. Is there something special about your world?"

@Yun Lee

"Ooh, thanks!" Menat didn't have to be told twice, starting to chow down happily. She still remembered her manners, though, and wouldn't speak with her mouth full. She was in the company of royalty, after all. "Um...well, I guess what may seem special to you is what's normal to us! We aren't super advanced like Wakanda, for starters. Well unless you're one of those big evil groups that keep popping up, that is. Is Psycho Power a thing here?"

@Jeremi

Shuri chuckled at Menat's remark about evil groups. "Depends on who you ask. Not every one finds the nation of Wakanda a friendly place." She shook her head to the second question. "No, but every since the event Shadaloo has certainly made its presence felt all over the globe. Last I heard they had joined forces with Hydra. As they say, rats tend to flock together." Shuri picked up a cup and took a drink before placing it back on the table.

"But from what I've gathered your world isn't quite dissimilar to ours. Though the notion that our world is one of the stranger ones is amusing, all things considered. I believe I met someone from your world previously. A big Russian man. We had a nice team up with a Russian super team."

@Yun Lee

"Oh great..." Menat had no idea who Hydra was, but she could guess they had to be despicable if they allied with crooks like Shadaloo. Starting on a plate of fries, she brightened as Shuri brought up the Red Cyclone. "Oh, Zangief? No way! I met him a few times. Really strong, but for whatever reason every time I try to see his future it's just him flexing. Oh! Speaking of..." Menat produced her crystal ball, which was back to its usual form. "Want a reading? I figure since everything has finally calmed down, we won't be seeing anymore fire and destruction in here."

@Jeremi

Shuri seemed to consider it for a moment before coming and sitting down next to the young fortuneteller. "Your skills seemed to have saved Wakanda from destruction. How can I refuse such an offer?"

As they began the ball seemed to be silent for a moment before images started to flash inside. The image of a desolate island in flames, a lone emblem of what Menat could tell was remnants of Shadaloo, and a name.

Krakoa.

With that the orb returned to normal.

@Yun Lee

...

...

...

"Oh, come ON!" Seriously? Seriously. Not even twenty four hours! A full day! And there was more fire and flames and evil and destruction. Just one fortune about a cute pony, or a first kiss, or something, anything nice! Just one!

Menat sighed. "I get the feeling we'll need to tell T'Challa about this one, huh..."

@Jeremi

"If only it was that simple..." Shuri replied before an annoyed sigh escaped her lips. "Krakoa...of course it had to deal with the mutants."

"What had to deal with the mutants?"
T'Challa was now standing at the door his mask now removed and wearing a more formal regal attire.

The King of Wakanda got a grim look on his face as they finished their tale. "From one flame to another. Into one that might be impossible to extinguish due to our current political climate."

"Brother, I know we rejected their offer and what that entailed,"
Shuri replied. "But if that premonition is accurate I do not want to have their deaths on my hand."

T'Challa was silent for a moment before turning towards Menat. "Menat, I will try to use my channels for a dialogue. For the time being you'll be a guest. I'm sure you're tired from our last ordeal. I'll have the servants set up living quarters for you. I'll contact you when I have reached out to them."

He was beginning to leave when Shuri spoke to him. "But T'Challa." He stopped her before she could say anything more.

"I know what you are going to say, Shuri, but I believe despite it that she'll take my message."
With that he left leaving the two women alone once again.

"...Does this always happen when you visit someone?"
Shuri asked Menat.

@Yun Lee

Menat sighed, unable to even enjoy the fact that she was literally about to be the guest of a king. "I really, REALLY wish I could say no," she said. "But good fortunes are the kind no one wants to change."

Though she did wonder... "This...Krakoa. Does T'Challa have some sort of history there, or...?"

@Jeremi

Shuri shook her head. "Not with the island, but with its inhabitants. Particularly one. His former wife now...complicated. She belongs to the Homo superior race. Mutants." Shuri wasn't much for gossip, though that had more to do with the fact that there wasn't many peers she wanted to 'spill the tea with' as it where. "This world before the Convergence event has always hated and feared them. Mainly for them being different and the next event in human evolution. And now..."

She pressed a button on her gauntlet to reveal an image of the island. "They become more isolationist, giving out gifts to those countries that wished it. Wakanda did not. Therefore, complications. But perhaps," She shut down the holograph. "There is still an opportunity to at least get a dialogue. Despite what they've become, I would not wish their death."

@Yun Lee

"...sheesh." Yeah, complicated sounded like a total understatement, if Memat was being totally honest. "And I really don't want Shadaloo to come back. They caused a ton of problems for a lot of good people." Master, of course, had been the first in her mind, what with her...unique connection to Bison. Then there was Maggio, who only finally reunited with his sister...well, most of her anyway. But a lost eye was better than an arm or something. Better than what a lot of other people got after dealing with the Four Kings... "I may not have had much to do with their defeat, but I'm not going to sit back and let them make a comeback."

@Jeremi

"If the rumors of them siding with Hydra are true then I wish for their downfall as well." Shuri nodded before motioning towards the door. "Come, I'll show you to your quarters. Whatever it is my brother thinks he's doing will take awhile. Get some rest and we'll do what we can tomorrow."

With that Shuri lead Menat to her room that would put any five star hotel suite to shame. There was a bathroom connected to the room with an actual pool inside. "I'll come see you in the morning. Make yourself at home." With that Shuri left Menat to her own devices.

@Yun Lee

...okay. So yeah, things could be going downhill with that new prophecy, but...come on. Come on! Her own private POOL?! Menat wasn't about to let this evening go to waste. Giving Shuri a quick thank you before the princess left, Menat enjoyed everything these rooms had to offer. She'd make sure to get some rest tonight too, in case the next day brought some more thrills. And when the morning came, she'd be refreshed and ready for whatever this new prophecy had waiting.

@Jeremi

The night continued out without any problems as Menat went to bed. She'd wake up quite early by a knock on the door. If she went to answer she'd find Shuri on the other side. "There will be a meeting with Krakoan delegates. The specifically asked for your presence." Shuri gave her another look. "Get dressed, I'll wait for you outside."

Once she was done the two women started to make their way down the corridor. "Due to how the political climate currently is between humanity and mutants. Not to mention the rejection from Wakanda for Krakoa's offer. They will not be setting foot on Wakanda. Nor will my brother be along to meet them."

They had made their way out to the courtyard where a similar flying jet that Menat had used previously was waiting for them. "Luckily, brother and you made a powerful friend recently." Shuri led Menat on to the craft before sitting down at the pilot seat. "Anakaris has been most graceful in offering his kingdom as our meeting place." With that, they headed off to their destination. "Did you sleep well?" Shuri finally asked after a bit. "I realize this might seem sudden but if your premonition is true then time is of the essence."

@Yun Lee

"I did, yeah, considering." Jeez...politics really got in the way of a lot of progress, huh? So many fortunes ignored out of pride or grudges...it was always kinda sad when they ended up coming into reality when they could've just as easily been altered.

But that wasn't Menat's place to get into. She was just a messenger, after all, and that meant neutrality...okay. Maybe she did have SOME bias here and there, but come on! There were people out there who were obviously evil! But Krakoa...maybe there wasn't any evil there, but she remembered what Shuri had told her last night. "Um...do you think T'Challa's wife will be there, or...?"

@Jeremi

“Doubtful,” Shuri replied to Menat as they continued their journey. “Perhaps they still assume my brother will be there or another reason, but I do not personally believe she’ll be part of the delegates…I assume the delegates won’t be much help either.” The final part was said in a slight mumble. “Apologies, I don’t wish to concern you. Even though a meeting will be taking place. The Krakoans…were not very trusting of my brothers' words. I assume they think we are trying to undermine them for some reason. Because, and you might not know this, only mutants are permitted to set foot on Krakoa.”

@Yun Lee

"Oh no, it's fine. Just as long as they're open-minded enough to help us change the future, I can handle some difficulty. Believe me, I've dealt with worse." Menat stretched, looking out the window of the craft. "So, these mutants. What is it that makes them different from regular humans? Is it some sort of physical thing, or how do Krakoans know if you are allowed there?"

@Jeremi

It dawned on Shuri that Menat was not familiar with how this world worked. "Apologies, I should perhaps explain to you what a mutant actually is. I will not bring in any biology or the like but the actual term for them are homo superior. They are the next step in human evolution which is why a lot of humans fear them and their powers. Though how a Norse God or a man given supernatural powers through science do not bring the same fear among the masses, but I digress. Being a mutant means that you have access to superhuman powers you get when you're born. Though most powers first manifest in their teen years. Suffice to say they have known prejudice for a long time and they finally decided to create a proper Haven for themselves. That has caused problems as well but..."

Shuri looked over to Menat. "Does that suffice or do you wish to hear more? I'm sure I have a power point presentation of this somewhere."

@Yun Lee

"Oh no, I think I get it perfrctly, thank you." It still didn't make all that much sense, but maybe meeting the Krakoan representatives would help her to understand it more? "So, people born with powers...in my world we call those superheroes." Though in her world, too, things like that wouldn't be too unusual. There were some very....unique individuals back home, though as far as Menat knew, none of them were actually born with their abilities.

"Wait...Krakoa's creation has caused problems? Does it have to do with those gifts you mentioned earlier? The ones Wakanda refused?"
