"So you're kind of like a Super hero, just without any cool powers!" Shou replied almost in awe. On one hand, he came off as a jerk, and on the other hand she knew she was being a bit childish but couldn't help it.

Speaking of heroes made her remember Ritsu, then.

"Ah! I can't fight but there's one thing I can do to help protect the others who can't fight either!" Shou spoke, having forgotten about the glasses she held close to her chest in a firm grip.

"I can make barriers. Well, these glasses can." She had a thoughtful look on her face then after saying that. Shou knew it was affecting against magic, but she didn't really want to test out if it was affective towards bullets. She wouldn't say that out loud however.

"It's all I have." She added in a softer tone.

The alien, noticing that the woman was incredibly scared of her, and the entire situation that was going on, frowned and walked over towards her. She approached slowly, her hands up to aloe sure she didn’t look like a threat or was going to try anything sneaky. “I’m not going to hurt you, earthling,” she said with a shake of her head.

Slowly, as long as the woman would allow it, she would grab both of her hands and bring them together, Celeste’s hands enveloping the media star’s. It was like a strange greeting. “My name is Celeste. Please, don’t be afraid. We’re all in a very odd situation, but I don’t think there’s reason to be scared.” She offered the woman a warm smile. “You’re going to be fine. In fact, I’ll make sure of it. I’ll have an eye out for you.”

She then turned to Havoc as they began to walk towards wherever the hell it was they were going. “Are you sure you’re going to do all the work? I’m quite experienced myself. I could be of help.”
The grinch was concerned, to say the least, when he heard the loud gunshot, like the roar of a beat. He winced in surprise, hands over his ears, but he wasn’t gonna give into childish fears. This man named Havoc, a rather foolish name, was speaking of things that were rather insane. And his attitude was one that could rival a Grinch, and the Grinch followed through with an angry twitch.

“and what do we do once you clear this base? I’m assuming you know a way out of this place? I don’t have time to be staying out here. I’m supposed to be grinching the most wonderful time of the year! And with no Kantoopas or Combelpas in sight, how do you expect to put up a fight?”

With that, he stepped up and shouted to the group.

"Alright, follow me and stay close. I'll take us to that signal so we can shut it down and get some backup. I'm sure we all have loads of questions. Now let's move out."

Havoc exclaimed as he began to move, expecting everyone to follow behind him. As they were walking, Boris walked ahead of the group towards Havoc.

"You seem to run into combat without a care in the world."
"Just how I roll. Got a problem with that?"
"No, but how can we guarantee their safety when most of them are unfit for combat?"
"Look at us. We're the most outfitted ones here. Hey, how are you not sweating in all that getup?"
"Not important, comrade. How much longer 'till this "Nod" base?"
"Dunno. But it must be pretty close for a small squad to be patrolling around."
"And what exactly is your plan?"
"Simple. Infiltrate and kill, same as usual, while you look after everyone else."
"So you do all the work."
"Pretty much. I work better on my own."

"Any reports, Field Marshal Bingham?"

"Nothing. Our contact in the Sahara Desert has gone dark. I'm sending Special Agent Tanya there now to retrieve him."
"Are you positive this Tanya can handle the Brotherhood of Nod's forces?"
"She's one of our most top operatives, General Granger. Trust me, she can handle the mission."
"Then I place my trust in your operative, and hope she can do the job. I need to get my Commander up to speed in the area after Sarajevo. Our combined forces seem to do the trick against the Empire of the Rising Sun, but your Russians seem to be aiding the Brotherhood's attacks against us. If you'll excuse us?"
"Of course. I need to tend to our forces."

"Commander, take control of the remainder of your forces and push into the Sahara Desert. Reports indicate high Nod presence there, most likely stragglers after our assault on Temple Prime. Deal with them."

"Yes sir."​

Shou blinked at that. Huh, he had a point.

"Yeah, that's true." She spoke up, before another group member caught her eye-other than the blue alien anyway.

"Um...do you always speak in rhymes?" She muttered to the Grinch as she stared at the...man? Monster?

Their group was colorful both literally and figuratively. Shou was getting used to the things she began to consider weird, but this whole situation might just be her breaking point.

At the accusation of her not being capable of much, Celeste would find quite a bit of offense. She frowned and pulled out two pistols, looking quite futuristic. “While I appreciate the complement, I don’t appreciate you doubting my capabilities. I will be more than happy to prove myself.”
“A grinch has always rhymed, since the dawn of time, since the first grinch ever grinched, the first grinch said a rhyme. I always rhyme, and so have all others. Rhyming’s a tradition, as I have discovered.”

the grinch could tell this could get on their nerves, and it filled him with glee, the grinch so disturbed. If he could chase some childish anger, his day would certainly get a little better.

“I will,” the alien said with a determined look on her rather pretty face as she stepped forward, pistols at the ready. “Storming bases is actually one of my specialties. It’s how I escaped imprisonment back at sector J-29. Lots of guards, lots of bullets.” She chuckled.

“Either way, I expect this to be a walk in the park, even with my limited weaponry. I would prefer more but...c’est la vie. I’m ready when you are.”
The Grinch was no fighter, and he had clear admission. He wasn’t going on such a dangerous mission. He crumpled his brow, crossed his arms, and he showed his crooked teeth with a crooked scowl.

“It seems too dangerous, I’ll be staying out,” he muttered. “And fleeing when it all starts to head south.”

" Wanna hewp," Asher told John.

The older killer let loose a sigh and shook his head. " As much as you normally could, you don't seem to have your powers here, so I'm going to leave you safely with Boris as I storm the facility. You even get to stay with Sandy Claws," he replied, handing him over to Boris to hold. Asher fidgeted and would be reaching for the Grinch.

Dan looked at the others and considered for a moment. " I'll help watch the kids as well and make sure nobody gets in from the opposite direction. As much as storming would help, we got too many young ones to let one man do it alone."

And so the group had split up. Whoever went with Havoc would follow him down the sandy dune towards the Communications Center, while everyone else stayed behind.

"Alright, here's the plan. If we're going to stealth this then I can't go in through the front, they'll shoot me on sight. But they don't know either of you. So..."

Havoc looked over to Celeste and looked her up, head to toe before shaking his head.

"That won't do... They might shoot you on sight before you even speak."

He then did the same for Jacob and stopped for a moment.

"Hmm... Perhaps. Okay. Jacob, Celeste, listen up. I want you to take her hostage gently and take her to the front gate. The soldiers'll sure to stop you to figure out what's going on, and all you have to do is say that you're turning her in to the Brotherhood, state that Kane'll find her useful for something. While you're doing that..."

Havoc then pulled out a Falcon pistol and armed it.

"I'll slip in through the back and get the door opened. Got it?"

"My leg got broken while I was held hostage by a pretty scary guy in shades, but my teacher saved me and...um...I guess the boy that was with me in that situation is my friend. Anyway, Haijima-sensei healed up my leg and then I last remember falling asleep..." Shou spoke, fiddling with the glasses in her hands.

"I hope I wasn't kidnapped by another Magician, the scary jerk in shades was enough." She muttered under her breath. That whole situation had been pretty scary really, and right now this seemed oddly...tame, compared to the earlier experience of beingg kidnapped.

Boris immediately cut himself off as he aimed his rifle at an uninvited guest; a woman who was wearing combat trousers and what appeared to be an armoured bra of some sorts as she was wielding a M16A2 Assault Rifle.

"Should of known why our contact went dark..."
"Tanya? What seems to be the issue, comrade?"
"Well, 'comrade', you're clearly holding these civvies hostage. Don't treat me as an ally while you're still a threat, commie scum."
"I am not holding them hostage, I'm ensuring their safety while Havoc and the others disable some sort of Jamming Signal from that structure behind us. Do you not recognize me, Special Agent Tanya? We were putting an end to Yuri's schemes---"
"First off, Yuri, who is that? Second, I can't trust you as far as I could throw you, Russian. Third, unless you have a lot of balls, you'll drop your weapon and get on your knees."
"If it will cease hostilities, then so be it."

Boris then laid down his weapon and do exactly as Tanya ordered which caught her off guard.

"Evac's on it's way. We'll be getting you lot out of here and back to America, then you can tell us what's really going on. Where is this "Havoc" going?"
"That structure behind us. It's some sort of Communications Facility."
"Good. I don't want you running off, so I'm sticking around. In the meantime..."

Tanya then turned to Shou and the others.

"What's all your stories? Why are you here in the Sahara Desert with this guy?"

"Oh, it is a Japanese name, I'm from Japan so...hm, I guess for simplicity I'll start calling him Mr. Saki, Saki's his first name. You know...I'm not really sure how I got taken from Japan and dropped off into a desert while I was asleep. It's odd--" she stopped her rambling when Tanya arrived, jumping a bit with a surprised yelp.

She moved closer to Boris, ready to activate her shield if the woman decided to shoot, eyeing Tanya wearily as she did so. Boris seemed to know her, nut she didn't seem to know him. What was going on?

"It's like he said, he's not holding us hostage! He's protecting us while we wait for Mr. Havoc to come back!" She spoke up in his defense, before she anxiously fiddled with the glasses in her hands again.

"And we all woke up here as far as I know." She added, frowning.

Celeste frowned and put a hand on her hip. “So that’s what’s going to happen? I’m going to be playing the decoy?” She rolled her eyes and holstered her pistols. “What a waste of my talents...but fine. I’ll go with your plan.”

" I personally think that it might be better if she went with you. Jacob and I could perhaps say we were scouting and that everything was clear. It also works better if she is with you, because the guards might think the worst otherwise. Plans like this always head south rather fast," he replied.

" Well, I was out doing some police work in LA before coming here and I honestly don't know much else. Well, besides the Grinch was apparently stealing Christmas before he got here."

Asher didn't get the question. " With Uncle John going lot of places."
