Mafia times up?

Hannah grinned at Maggie, before she glanced at the bag. "If you would like, you can put some of your stuff in my locker." She offered. "Its basically empty except for two text books and a binder." She said opening up the decently large locker that was barren of any photos except for a small photo of her, her father and mother.

Hannah grabbed her english textbook and looked at her phone before she sighed shaking her head. "I have two hours before a stupid exam..." She muttered under her breath but still somewhat loud enough for Maggie to hear. She ran a hand through her hair and shoved stray strands out of her face.

Lacey looked around the empty house that was filled with boxes still before she sighed and shook her head before walking out the door. She sent a message to MAggie, "starting work today since they had called me in.. don't know when i will get home today. message me when you get off and ill see if i can go get you."

she then went to start her car and it wouldn't start. She groaned in anger before she took in a deep breath and got out and kicked the tire. "Stupid old car..." She muttered before she looked around and asked someone who walked by, "Hey im new here and my car isn't starting... Is there a tow place and a car shop anywhere near here?" She asked.

After getting the number for Hannah's dad's shop she called.

Ever nosy (a trait she inherited from being the daughter of a cop), Maggie couldn't resist taking a peek into Hannah's locker. Most of the girls at her old school had pictures of their friends, their boyfriends, and that kind of thing. Her locker was reasonably sparse in comparison. She didn't know if that was due to a school trend or a personal trait, but she filed the information away anyway. "Thanks!" She brightened a little, grabbed a notebook and pen, and shoved her backpack into the locker. It would get her through the day until she had an idea of how the classes went and then she could worry about organizing her school supplies. "What kind of test?" She offered, hugging her notebook to her side.

...
The phone rang for a few moments and just as it looked like it might go to voicemail, a man picked up. "Marco's Auto, Marco speaking. How can I help you?"

Hannah winced, "Its a math test." She said shaking her head. "The worst type of test ever." She looked at Maggie, "Mrs. Zekovia, or Mrs. Z as she allows us to call her, throws a test at us almost every other week." She rolls her eyes playfully.

Lacey about hung up before the person picked up, "Hi, yes um, my piece of sh-.... My car will not turn on. I am not sure if the battery is dead or if there is something else wrong with it.. Its a very old car." She started shaking her head glaring at said car.

"Math is the worst," Maggie agreed, scrunching up her nose. When she was in the third grade, they started doing timed math tests, and it always took her a little extra time to get through the form. Ever since then, she and math have had a bad, bad relationship. "I do not envy you." Tagging after Hannah, she tugged on a lock of her own hair. "Do they make new students test on their first day?" That would be super lame, but unsurprising.

Marco signed off on a form, turning his full attention to the phone call. "Ah, is it making any noise when it won't turn out, or just silent and dead? It makes a difference. Where are you located; depending on what it is, I can maybe get you started long enough to get you to the shop, or fix you up right there."

Hannah shook her head. "Normally they do not. But I think Mrs. Z might make you to see where you are at so she can know if she needs to give you more one on one or not." She nodded. "But yes. Math is somewhat my worst subject. Give me Chemistry or any science then i will pass it with flying colors." She laughed.

Lacey sighed in relief. "I just moved in and im at my house... It is.." She tried to remember her address. "2695 Lillypond Rd...." She told him reading off one of the peices of paper she had with the address on it.

"I'm more into writing and history myself." Too much math in Chemistry for her taste. She stuck her hands in her pockets, following Hannah to their English class. When they reached the room, she tried to get in without much notice, aiming for the first empty chair, but luck was not on her side today.

As she was sliding into her seat, Mr. Howard beamed in her direction. "We have a new student today; why don't you introduce yourself." Frowning, Maggie sighed and opened her mouth-- "stand up, let everyone hear you." So, apparently, he was one of those.

"My name is Maggie," she offered, moving to sit back down.

"Tell us a little about yourself," Mr. Howard insisted.

She managed to resist the urge to roll her eyes. "My name is Maggie, I just moved here yesterday. I hate small talk and the color yellow." This time she sat all the way down, internally refusing to stand, even if he insisted. Thankfully, he moved on.

...
"I'll be there soon," he promised.

It took about fifteen minutes, but soon enough Marco was pulling up to Lacey's house in his work truck. He double-checked the address before parking on the street and climbing out. Offering Lacey a bit of a smile and a wave, he gestured to her car. "This is the patient, then?" He offered Lacey his hand. "Marco, nice to meet you."

Hannah sat down and rolled her eyes at the teacher and giggled when Maggie stood up. She raised a brow when she finished and whispered, "That was perfect." She giggled taking out her books for this class and laying them on top of the desk.

LAcey kicked the tire of her car once again after she hung up and sighed. "Stpid car." She said before calling her boss and telling him that she wasnt going to make it in without another cruiser picking her up as she was waiting for a towcar company to get to her house to pick up her car to get it fixed. "Who did you call to look at your car?" Her boss asked, "I called Marcos Auto-" She started before her boss said, "Keep a eye on Maros. We have been trying to catch him in his zone of drugs and mafia." Her boss told Lacey as someone in a truck pulled up, "Well he is here so i will check in after i figure out if my car is a goner or not." She said before hanging up without saying anything else.

Lacey grinned and nodded, "Yeah, this is the patient. The car might be a goner, Me and my daughter drove her all the way here from halfway aacross teh country." She rubbed the back of her head.

Maggie hid a smile as she bent her head down to pull a notebook out of her backpack. She wasn't quite sure why, but the compliment from Hannah did funny things to her stomach.

Marco offered Lacey a brighter smile as he examined the car. "Mind if I...?" He indicated the front door, waiting for her permission before pulling open the door and popping the hood to the car and going to take a look. "Battery isn't dead," he said as he climbed out of the front seat. Going around, he bent over and tinkered beneath the hood before coming back and leaning on the side of the car. "Your timing belt is bad," he informed her. "It's one of those maintenance things most people tend to forget about. It should be changed every sixty-thousand miles or so, or every five years and it doesn't look like yours has been changed. Unfortunately, not a fix I can do here, but I can get you a quote and take it back to the shop if you like, or you can shop around." There were a few other mechanics in the area, but he already knew his was the best.

((I am so so sorry for not responding back for about a month. I got super busy then sick then busy again. And i also thought i had responded. ^^; ))

Lacey nodded. "Go right on aheda." She told him before stepping back to let him to his work. She watched him closely trying to see what her boss saw before shaking her head and sighing. When he came up from inspecting hercar and told her about the timing belt. "Thats odd. When i went to the garage roughly a week ago they had said my timing belt was good my battery was just dead. So i got a new battery..." She mumbled shaking her head. "I am so glad it didn't break down on the way here. How soon can you have it done by? I had to be at work roughly a hour ago but i can't do my job without a car." She told him running a hand through her hair.

He hummed a little. "Yeah, but driving half-way across the country, you're going to put some wear on the timing belt. It might have been good before you left, but putting some mileage on it wore it out." After a moment of consideration, Marco shrugged. "The work is quick. An hour or two tops, but it's getting the part that might be difficult. I know I don't have any spare timing belts lying around, but I can maybe call in a couple of favors at a few other shops in the area. Someone might have one on hand. I can't guarantee anything." He wiped his hands on a rag, dropping the hood back down and coming to lean on the side of the car. "Will your insurance offer you a rental for a situation like this?"
