Heaven-Sent Abomination
Brief Intro: Welcome to Silfrvǫllr, a realm of ice and snow. With bitter summers and worse winters, the land is kept alive through the invention of steam power. Grand steam-powered behemoths sail the oceans in search of new lands to pillage, while steam heating provides respite from the biting cold on land. Ornate swords, axes and pistols are carried by the guards, while hunters prefer spears and bows. Things are taking a turn for the worse, however, as rumbling from the Jotunnfjell mountains indicates the awakening of a vicious race of frost giants. Man, dwarf and even troll must band together to prepare for the inevitable second coming of the giants. May Odin help us all.
Races:
Human - The charismatic humanoids who arrived to the land via longships and formed a long-standing friendship with the dwarves, exchanging food for the steam technology of the subterranean society. Traditional human weapons are spears, swords, axes, bows and pistols by hand, and mounted ballistae and catapults.
Dwarf - Short and stout, the dwarves dwell beneath the ground and were the first race to discover steam power. They use colossal machines to assist in digging and defending their tunnels, and their forgemasters were responsible for the brass steamships used by their human allies. They stood neutral in the human-troll war, staying to their tunnels to avoid ruining their relations with either race. They prefer axes, hammers, pistols and rifles on foot, and use large drills and cannons alongside infantry.
Troll - Towering beasts built for the ice, trolls rely on their thick skin and fur to fend off blows and the cold, though some have taken to dwarf-crafted armour as a second layer. They dislike the humans they once fought, but have a mutually beneficial partnership with the dwarves. They carry colossal warhammers and hand-held cannons, but lack siege weapons designed for their large frames.
