Roan wondered when Auga would return. She hoped that she was ok. She saw that they were nearing the surrounded wolf. She called back to the other wolves, "Let's stop for now and wait for the alpha to catch up. I don't want to ruin any plans he may have!" She looked down at her legs as they trembled slightly. She sat down with her head held high. Not wanting the rest of them to notice. She reached her paw up and wiped the slobber from her muzzle. She took a deep breath, testing the air, and waited.

Blinking his eyes the wolf that had been surrounded by Sabers stared blankly at a wolf who preceded to jump and bite one of the sabers on its macular neck. the wolf spoke to the saber with growls and roars rather than yips and barks and howls. "You alright?" he wasn't asking the wolf but the animal the wolf was attacking. "Would you like me to talk to it?"
The saber rolled his eyes and moved his body around to face the Purple wolf now really bloody. "You know that a lone wolf can't do any real damage. " he chuffed at the wolf in a laughing way. "Though his fangs do pinch a bit and since this one is part of your species maybe you can talk some sense into him but he may be scared you are covered in blood after all."
Void perked forward his ear his eyes intensely looking at the saber he spoke with. "I haven't been amongst wolves in years I'm not even sure I know how to howl anymore."
"Try" the saber looked at the wolf who continued to hold onto his neck "They can be quite heavy." the Muscles in the Saber's upper body were thick and the reason they could bring down massive prey on their own. he was being a rather docile saber not yet growing angry over what was happening which may seem strange to any wolf that was watching the ordeal.
Void cleared his throat and tried his best to talk to the wolf who swung from the neck of his friend. "you mind? let go.." his speech was broken up quite a bit as he really hadn't needed to use his native language in so long. "friend." he had a constant growl to his words Not that he meant to it was just how the sabers spoke to each other and what he had learned while helping them. "I go clean."
Void stood up and speaking in saber to the saber. "I told him I'm going to clean myself so maybe he would understand the blood isn't mine." Void turned and moved off a bit showing he wasn't injured in anyway and laid down and started to groom his forepaws and licking his muzzle clean though his way of cleaning looked more cat that wolf.

Roan watched from a distance and saw a wolf attack the saber. She yelped in confusion, "What are you doing?" But after seeing the surrounded wolf talk to the wolf that attacked, it backed down. She tilted her head. The wolf that had blood on it was calm and seemed to be conversing with the Sabers. "What in the..." She frowned in confusion.

Storm poked her head out the bush and watched the Sabers talking with the wolf. Her parents had told her stories about sabers. Apparently they were very mean and killed wolves for no reason. She wiggled out of the bush and rushed toward one of the sabers, opening her mouth to try to bite his leg.

Roan stiffens, seeing a little pup charging at the Sabers. "What..." Time seemed to stand still. Her mind was running a thousand miles and hour. She remembered her family and the sorrow she still felt from losing them. What would the pup's family think if it was found dead? What was the pup even doing all alone? She soon found herself moving. When had she decided to move? The world whipped by her as she charged toward the pup. She wasn't sure if the pup had already bitten down on the Saber by the time she reached it, but she did not care. All she thought about was getting the pup out of there as she grabbed it by the scruff.

Storm was close-- so close. Then she felt teeth tighten around her scruff and yank her away from the saber. She tried to wiggle out of the wolf's grasp. Just a few more feet... then that evil saber would be dead. "Let go! It's an evil saber!" she yowled at the wolf holding her.

Roan ignored the other wolves, alpha would reach them soon and tell them what to do. For now she just wanted to get the pup back to the group. Safe. If any action happened behind her, she did not hear it. Roan was just focused on what she needed to do. At this moment in time, she did not care if the alpha scolded her for what she did. She was just relieved to get the pup safe. She hoped.

Storm stopped struggling, the sweet scent of the wolf holding her washed over her nose and she relaxed. She felt safe, very safe. Maybe this wolf would bring her to some other wolves too. A new family... Storm had come to terms with the fact that her parents wouldn't be coming back. She slowly fell asleep.

When Roan reached the group of scouts and warriors, she nearly collapsed. She realized that the adrenaline was the only thing that had made her be able to run that fast in the first place. She set the pup down gently before sitting herself. Her tongue hung out as she breathed heavily. She hoped that the alpha would come soon. Her forelegs shook as she sat, she wanted to lay down but she knew she could not. Not as a leader who needed to stay on top of things. Where was Auga? She had a sinking feeling about her, but she pushed it aside. No! Auga was fine.

Flame rushed over to Roan, saying, "That was very brave of you, Roan. Take a few deep breaths. Let yourself calm down and then go back to your group." She then turned to the pup Roan had just saved, saying, "What were you thinking?! What's your name? You should be very grateful that saber didn't kill you on the spot! I know you were trying to protect your pack, but that was uncalled for!" Her eyes softened as she took a deep breath. "I just want you to be more careful, all right?"

Storm looked at the angry wolf, "It's a saber! They are evil!" she huffed. "As for protecting my pack, I don't have a pack. My parents disappeared a few days ago. I didn't even know other wolves existed until now." Storm's voice softened, "I probably shouldn't have done that-- I guess I just wanted to prove myself. Like if I could defeat a saber I could go after my parents and save them, you know?" She shuffled her feet and took a deep breath, "May I join your pack? I don't have any where else to go."

Flame stopped and inspected the pup, saying, "You're not from this pack-sorry- I got caught up in myself. But not all sabers are evil." When the pup asked if she could join the pack, Flame barked, "First, what's your name?"

"Storm." muttered the pup, this wolf was scary, she liked the other wolf who rescued her much better. What was her name again? Oh yes, Roan. Storm still wasn't convinced about the sabers though. She would have to see it for herself to believe it.

"Okay," Flame continued gently. "Come with me," Flame went to Zeke, looking over her shoulder to make sure that Storm was following. When she got to Zeke, she got his attention and said, "Zeke, this is Storm. Storm, this is Zeke, the Alpha Male of our pack. Zeke, Storm says she lost her parents a little bit ago and has nowhere left to go. She's wondering if she can join our pack. My preference would be that she does," her eyes softened and she glanced at Storm. "She's only a pup, after all. And though she seems like she can take care of herself, as she was on her own for the a little while, she wishes to join our pack. And if we turned her away..." I would never forgive myself. She didn't finish the thought out loud, but that was what she was going to say. She looked like an Alpha as she finished, "I wanted to get your opinion. Is it alright with you if she joins our pack?"

Alpha Male? Storm had never heard of that term but she guessed that it meant the leader of the pack. This wolf was very nice helping plead her case to the leader. She looked at Zeke and hoped he would let her join.

Zeke turned his attention to Flame for a moment as she ran off and noticing Roan he tilted his head confused but went back to the discussion he was having with the Healers. Urderviel's scent came to his nose along with some blood he turned around looking but couldn't see anything. His ears perked up wonderin what in the world had happened while he was talking to the healers. 'Did Ebony not find Urderviel?' giving a quick scratch to his side with his left back paw he turned back to the healers. “If we have the supplies will you go check on Urderviel I think I scented blood.” he turned to start the trot again and slowed down when he came across Flame once more. Listening he pulled back his ears and closed his eyes slightly 'this move isn't going the way I would have liked. Sabers cougars and now a lost pup.'

Lowering his head to the pup and giving a sniff. Zeke then preceded to lick the pup it trying to remove any scent that may turn any of the pack members on it. After he was done he turned and raised his leg giving a quick mark to the area around the pup to give her his scent also to prevent any other issues. “that should do it. If your joining your rank will be Tau until your 6 months old then we will give you an assignment for your future rank.” He looked at Flame and nodded his head. “It's the youngest pup we have should probably be carried a majority of the way. Or you can choose to put her with the other pups we will properly introduce her to the entire pack once we arrive at the Lunar Lakes.”

Void Finished cleaning up and seeing the wolf let go of the saber he tilted his head and huffed shaking out his fur. And speaking clearly to the saber. “Maybe this pack doesn't have a saber speaker.” he gave a gruff laugh

The saber joined him in the laugh. A twinge of blood seeping from his neck didn't seem to bother him much as he spoke back to void “Your services are appreciated that kit was hit by a bear the other day and we couldn't find what was wrong.” shaking his massive head he stood and started to follow his pride. “If you go talk to those wolves and they have any that need to learn the saber language send them to me.” His short tail stood as tall as it could as he proudly strode away knowing that a bloody wolf surrounded by sabers did sort of seem like a bad thing if none of them spoke saber. 'That pup was something else trying to help it's elder pack member. Reminds me of the two wolves we found near that bear did one come to save the other only for both to end up dead?' the saber disappeared back into the petrified forest without another word nor roar.

Void sniffed the air and stood up he started trotting in the direction of the wolves that had been in the area the random one that took the pup and the one that had apologized. He wondered why they would take the time out of their journey to assist a wolf they thought was in danger. Seeing the wolf that had taken the pup he perked his ears forward and listened as another wolf approached. Seeing the entire scene he shook his fur and quietly followed the female that took the pup. He understood more wolf than he spoke now and found the situation intriguing. The purple wolf watched as the male seemed to piss on the pup and nearly gave out a snarl of his own but held it back once he realized what the wolf was doing. 'those must be the leaders. Then it's them I should talk to.' stepping out of his hiding spot Void gave a huff to alert the wolves to his pressance.

As Roan was able to finally calm her heart rate she blinked. She smiled slightly as she saw the alpha welcoming the pup. She liked the pup and she was relieved her superiors were not upset with her for what she did. Her heart dropped as she realized she could have gotten herself killed and put the pack in danger had the Saber and or the lone wolf decided to attack her. She lectured herself a bit. She was actually surprised that she had not been injured.
She then seemed to zone out. Her ear twitched and as she realized something was not right. How stupid of her to think that she was not followed! Then she heard it, a huff. She whirled around. Her teeth bared as she let out a snarl and growled menacingly. She had let her guard down! "Who goes there?!" She saw it was the lone wolf. "Stay where you are!" Her legs shook ever so slightly, still exhausted from all the day's work. "You will not move until the alpha has approached you!" Her hackles stood straight up, making her back look like it was made out of fire. She barked an order for warriors to surround him. Usually she was not so aggressive to outside wolves, but the day's events had given her an edge and she did not want to make another mistake.

Storm was happy, no, ecstatic! She took in the smell of the pack, her new pack, her family. Even if she was the youngest and would have to wait until she would get a ranking. There must be so many things she can do! Storm heard the Alpha talk about other pups. It will be fun to meet them. She remembered that once she had siblings of her own, but they had all died before they reached the age of five weeks.
Her eyes drifted to Roan, who had her hackles raised and seemed to be confronting another wolf who was not part of the pack, she could tell from the scent. She almost ran over, but remembered earlier when she was lectured on trying to bite a saber and she stayed put.

Upon discussion, a decision was made for Onyx and one other scout to venture in opposite directions. This plan was too look for any easier path, and signs of danger such as an ambush. He fought against the brush as his legs kept up the work. Definitely not this route, he concluded in an obvious thought. His muzzle high in search for any recent signs of other predators. His legs kept moving while he nose occupied his attention, which led to a misstep. His paw latched under a raised root, causing him to tumble onto the ground head first. He let out a small yelp of surprise along with a huff of impact.

His throat gave a low grumble as he scrambled to his feet. Briers had caught his fur which only added to his current frustration. He was able to smell a strong scent of rust after he pulled himself free. The sudden adrenaline rush distracted him from the pain, so his muzzle went unnoticed with a wound from the damned thorned vines. He felt the warm, sticky liquid drip down his snout as well as other areas with injuries. He mentally cringed at himself for his clumsiness and began to make his loop around to meet up with the party.

His pace slowed to a speedy trot while he continued to scold himself. That was until he heard loud commotion coming from up ahead. The pack. Speed rushed to his muscles. Onyx burst out of the brush to find a rather interesting sight. His eyes fell upon his leader conversing with a young pup he did not recognize. His gaze changed to Roan. Her hackles had risen and her snarl was focused on another wolf's face which was also unfamiliar. He was surrounded by pack members and the smell of more blood drenched the air. What the hell happened?
