“If the Big Bang ain’t natural than nothing is natural!”
Gentaro said, “You ever heard of gasses? Hydrogen? You ain’t heard of all that? From what Kengo told me, and he’s the son of the scientist who made this thing,” he pulled out the Fourze Driver, the belt used to turn him into Kamen Rider Fourze, “he told me that this converts already pre-existin’ Cosmic Energy and turns it into power to use it in fightin’! That ain’t magic! Magic is curses and voodoo, and twistin’ water into tornadoes and using your hands to make fire!”

Billy considered the doctor's questions for a moment. He wasn't exactly keen with what Gentaro was saying but figured it was best to leave it. "The man's name is Revan," Billy said. "The army he commands is named after him and those who stand by him are just as strong as he is. Admittedly I... don't know much about him. He was waging a war on a group known as the Coalition, but they lost and now here we... are."

As for Cullen, his gaze was even as he stared Thaal down. His smirk lessened slightly and his tone was more serious.

"I'm not exactly the sort of bloke whose got a lot to lose. Still..." A memory came back to Cullen, of that of his time at Braddock. Felt like ages ago now. "... Not like I want it all to go away. Don't worry about my convictions, mate, I'm all in on winning this."

"It ain't magic! It's Cosmic Energy! It's the power of Space itself!" Gentaro shouted, instinctively defensive.

"Witches curse people with their magic! How can I not be afraid of that!" he said, his mind flickering back to the fight with the Ara Zodiarts, who was channeling her Cosmic Energy into pendants, so that her followers could use magic.

"What if... what if she curses me?" he whimpered.

"AAAAHHH! DON'T CURSE ME!!!" Gentaro shouted at Biscuit.

Urge to destroy. Rising. "Watch it or maybe I actually will put a curse on you." Her face looked serene and calm but her tone was threatening. She had beaten up people for less.

"Hmm, yes," Sinestro chirped, a smarmy smirk glued to his lips. "It's awfully good for you, isn't it?"

"Believe me when I say that getting my feelings out is something I excel at. Such a shame that effective armies do not run on self expression alone. We shall simply have to place our trust in discipline and do everything in our power to ensure that order wins the day..."

"Oh, now that is a shame..."
Thaal slowly closed his fingers around his construct dragon. Ribbons of light rippled out from between his fingers as the hard-light construct dissipated. "A fearsome dragon of our own would surely be useful in times like these. A beast like that would put the Fear of God in Revan's heart, of that I have no doubts... no matter..." The Yellow Lantern returned his fingers empty to the arm of his chair. He started to strum again.

Feeling Clark's eyes upon him, Thaal slowly rotated his chair to give to Kryptonian a look of his own. He raised his construct glass in a mock-toast.
Pfft. 'Evil'. What a boring, binary analysis...

"'Judgmental'..." Sinestro repeated to himself. A sharp chuckle escaped his pursed lips. "What would you have me do? Hold my tongue? Give these children a dozen second chances? Lay down the rug and let them walk all over me? No," He scoffed again. "No. You can learn a lot about a man from your first impression. It establishes a precedent. It tells you where you stand. I've judged these people. And they've all judged me. Just as you and I have judged each other, Knight.

"And I must say... It's nice to finally meet another man of reason, Siegward. Someone how can express himself without the primal rattling of fists. Believe me; the honor is all mine."

"I'm glad I amuse you,"
Thaal smirked back at Cullen. "Unless your friend finishes that miracle of his soon, I'll be the only 'comedian' left in the multiverse. Tell me. Is that the kind of 'eternity' you envisioned for yourself?"

“Then I guess it’s true... for your world. Did you forget I’m from another world, baaaa~ka. In my world, the universe is natural, unlike your magical world.”

Gentaro was, at this point, completely clocked out of that conversation. Nothing Lucifer could say would actually bring him back to that conversation.

“Let’s just destroy this guy and restore the universe!”

Excitable Kamen Rider said:

"Multiverse Blues"

"...This is...a dream..."

A pain resonated in his chest. His world was white, and around him, the cacophony of distant sirens wailed until there was nothing but white noise. He shakily rose his hand among the rubble, extending it outwards to formulate the silhouette of a gun. Words left his mouth, but for the man trapped by his past, he could not hear them. All he knew now is that, for the first time in awhile, he realized he finally felt alive.

"Yeah..."

"Just a bad dream."

---

Among those that had arrived through intentions not of their own there was one that was peculiar. Well, in a mismatched band of multiversal misfits and outcasts, everyone was undoubtedly peculiar. It was just that this one seemed absent and apathetic. A ragged old suit-jacket coated his lanky stature, and with an aura of grim quietude, thumbed through a pack of Marlboro "Cowboy Killers" Reds. In there lay a single cigarette with the end of it faced up -- a lucky cigarette. With a disgusted sigh the phlegmatic man strode over haphazardly to the main group of conferring heroes, villains and all those in-between. Placing the rolled-up tobacco in his mouth the paper crooked and bent just like Spike's luck. Hands folded into his jacket's pocket, and for the first time since he arrived, Spike Spiegel spoke up.

"Hey...anyone got a light?"

Oh. Sorry, Ma'am. You're looking great for your age"

Shaking his head, Clark turned back to Giorno. There was something about the young man that had Clark's interest peaked. Maybe it was the way he held himself? As Giorno stared Clark down, smirked as the man turned away. Clark called towards him.

The golden-haired boy finally cracked something resembling a smile - a restrained half-smirk. "Ah. No, not at all. I just have a way of 'reading' people. There's a surprising amount of info you can learn about a person with just one look. Their economic status, romantic status, how they feel about being in certain places, how they feel about certain people. Of course, in this situation, that kind of info is useless."

Giorno's eyes seemed to sharpen like a knife to a grindstone, and his half-smile faded again. "The only thing I care about is whether or not the person I'm looking at is a 'good person.' A just, honorable soul. If I saw in them something else - some dark intent, perhaps - I don't think I could sleep well at night if I allowed them to walk freely.

View attachment 6448

"If you could read a persons mind, and learn that they're a prolific serial killer, but you were the only one who could tell, and you knew the only way to stop them was with your own two hands... would you allow them to walk away? You would have no real 'proof' that they were a killer, at least nothing that would convince the people around you and a court of law. You would rot in prison, or go down in history as a cold-blooded murderer... and no one would know why you did what you did. But you would have removed a killer from the streets nonetheless."

"Unfortunately for me, only one look isn't enough to make that 'judgment.' A person should be defined by their actions and not their appearance, right? Not even their words."

He seemed to regard Clark's second question in the same fluid motion, turning his sharpened gaze in Sinestro's direction as the red-skinned alien (something that Giorno has learned not to question) went on with his tirades. The don frowned slightly, staying still enough to elude catching Thaal's attention.

"... Hm. Sorry if that all sounds so intense. I hope that makes sense. I'm just making sure my allies are who they say they are, Clark Kent. I wish I could do more than just look at them. Everything that I care about is at stake, after all. But... we have to take chances on those we choose to call our friends, don't we?"

The truth is, Giorno had thought about such a thing ever since he first entered the gang. It's unfortunate that the undoubtable scum of society - those who harm and exploit the innocent for their gain - are allowed to walk scot-free so long as they keep their actions private. It isn't illegal or immoral, so long as no one finds out, right?

That's why his dream was to be a gang-star and not, say, a cop. Can't expect the law to do all the work.

Azura had found herself at a loss of words when it came to speaking with Gentaro, mostly due to the claim that Billy couldn't be a witch due to his gender. She'd been exposed to the multiverse enough at this point to not consider the possibility that there were some witches out there that happened to be male. Billy would be the closest she'd get to such a thing so far.

Still, it seemed a bit...rude, to brush it off like that.

"I can control water to rejuvenate others and stop possessions, would you consider me a witch simply for that?" She asked, though her amusement didn't leak into her tone. Call it curiosity or what have you, but she genuinely wanted to know. While she didn't plan to use the pendants abilities too much outside of whenever necessary, she want to completely blindside the young man. However, she wouldn't share all of the abilities related to the pendant outside of what she already did share, simply for the fact that it currently didn't matter to do so.

"I've got you covered. I don't smoke myself, but this should do the trick." With a flick of his wrist and a flash of light, a small metal box appeared in his hand. He flicked his thumb against it and its top opened up like a lighter. He gave a its sparkwheel a quick turn and it produced a purple flame. Satisfied that it worked, he closed the lid and tossed the lighter to Spike.

"I'd say keep it, but the stuff I can make isn't exactly permanent."

He turned to Azure Kite and warned, "Don't smoke, kid. Er... You are a kid, right? I don't want to be condescending if you're actually an adult like Bisky apparently is."

After waiting for a response from Kite, Mason turned his attention back to the smoking space cowboy. "So, what's your name?" He attempted to mimic Spike's vibe by putting his hands in his pockets as well.

Azure Kite

He bent down to put himself at the level of the daggers and gazed at them intensely. "There we go! Looks like you're got some cool weapons. Do they have names? Or any special powers with them?" Mason's hands glowed with aura. He was about to try to form models of the daggers himself, but the gravity of the situation hit him very quickly. His excitement lasted only a moment. He stood back up and cleared his throat. He tried to restore a more mature appearance, to little success.

Kite had a smug lil' smirk on his face, making a show of twirling his dagger between his fingers. "These are... Empty Skies... Cool... right?"

He chuckled a bit. He felt lightness in his chest from Mason's fascination. It was an odd, new feeling for him, as all he knew before was to hunt people down, fight them, and kill them.

He liked it, though, as odd as it was for him.

He turned to Azure Kite and warned, "Don't smoke, kid. Er... You are a kid, right? I don't want to be condescending if you're actually an adult like Bisky apparently is."

Was he a kid? That question left him scratching the side of his head. He wasn't even exactly alive before this, but he had no idea of how to explain it, even to himself. Though he did have a semblance of a consciousness before he was pulled into this new world, it was half-programmed and malicious.

After a few seconds of humming in thought, Kite just shrugged his shoulders in response.

"Kite... is... a kid," he answered with hesitance. "I... do not age."

A left hand whipped out from the comfort of an old suit-jacket, twirling the small metal box in his fingers exotically and professionally for a man with his respectful addiction. In silent admiration of the flame and the lighter, Spike Spiegel pulled the lit flame the end of his cigarette. An impetuous puff of smoke left his lips, and with head thrown back, the false grin of a bounty hunter fell upon him. Was it happiness? No, not exactly. It was more of the great value discounted happiness you find on cereal boxes, Noir-esque alleyways and forgone lovers. A happiness for a man once and now frozen by his past.

tumblr_mpzjydrv9h1qatzuvo2_r1_500.gif

"My name? You never gave me yours. " Spike remarked with a casual shrug and coy grin. Some brooding hero boiled in a cauldron of angst and self-pity may say something exaggerated: 'shadow in the night', 'your nightmare', 'the black knight' and the list goes on. Maybe he could scream his name to top of his lungs to pretend a degree of constant excitement and false bravado...

Spike hated all of that.

"Spike Spiegel. Space bounty hunter. Say," Spike spoke, letting the cigarette tilt in his lips to be pointed downwards. He was rudely puffing smoke in the face of the young man who gave him the lighter, but hey, this comes from the same man that may of "accidentally" eaten some lady's groceries once before after bumping into her. "You know where the nearest convenience store is here? Or anyone I can ask?" the slouched and lackluster man inquired -- as if completely devoid of the true intensity of this situation. A continuous sleepwalker of the conscious.

Before he could reply to Kite, Mason found his face full of smoke. He held his breath as long as he could. A tiny whiff of smoke entered his mouth as he tried to speak. It sent him into a coughing fit that he tried to stifle, to little avail. Eventually, he conjured up a small electric fan to blow the smoke away from both him and Spike.

"Mason Moretti, from the United Universes. I usually end up involved in a lot of multiverse shenanigans. I assume this is your first time dealing with threats on an inter-universal scale instead of interplanetary. You may have not noticed this, but..."

Mason takes his hand and gestures towards the vast emptiness that surrounded the group, save for a lone streetlamp. He raised he voice, calling out into the darkness, "There's nothing here!" He let his words hang in the air for a moment.

Surely the space cowboy had to be screwing with him, right? Or had he really not been paying attention at all? He lowered his arms with a sigh, sending them back into the pockets of his coat. Whether Spike was serious or not, it was worth playing along. It might save some bickering later. He forced a smile to keep up his trademark protag cheer. He wanted his smile to say, "It's all good buddy, simple mistake," but all it really expressed was how annoyed he was.

"If you're looking to stock back up on your cigs, you're probably out of luck until we solve this big problem. Everyone except us is trapped in a time loop until we stop the guy who's trying to destroy the multiverse. Once we get that out of the way, there should be no problem. If you're looking for something to eat, though..."

Mason dug through his pockets and pulled out each item as he spoke of it. "I've got a packet of trail mix in one pocket. A couple of small bags of pretzels in another. Ah, some slightly melted chocolate, too. That's about it. I didn't get to stock up much before... y'know... this happened. I'd appreciate a convenience store too." Indeed, that was all he had, aside from a round earring in one pocket and a golden locket around his neck

Mason was about to offer Kite the chocolate when the implications of what the kid was saying hit him. The way the kid talked, it seemed like he wasnt completely human, nor completely Kite. Ignoring Spike for a moment, he took a more serious tone and talked with Kite.

"We're glad to have you here, as well as your Empty Skies. You've mentioned Kite is a kid, but you don't age... is there something else we should call you besides Kite? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Mason didn't want him getting upset like he did over Aura.

"Hypothetical: The Man you wish to kill is capable of doing everything you can do and more." Sinestro chimed, inserting himself into a debate he was all too familiar with. He stepped out of his chair and turned to face Clark. "Let's say that this Man- this vile, remorseless killer- lacks your moral code. You hesitate. You show mercy to your foe. He goes on to use his own abilities to torture and maim and kill those weaker than himself. You had an opportunity to save a potentially limitless number of lives, and you chose not to do so in fear of oppressing an oppressor. If you have the chance to save innocent lives, you should not cease that opportunity now matter the personal cost? You wouldn't just have the right to take that life, but you would have the moral duty."

He turned to face Giorno.

"Whether the price of justice is a prison sentence or a stain upon your soul, it is a small price to pay for the greater good. To sacrifices yourself in the service of others... is that not the definition of heroism?"

Azura spoke up, when Lucifer mentioned her, picking up her naginata from the ground where she had left it when she found herself in this... space between. Where light and dark were beside each other for a moment.

"That's as far as I'd allow my hands to get dirty, unless we can spare his ilk and imprison them somehow." She concluded, golden eyes narrowed as she glanced out into the abyss like darkness around them for a second.
