Conley Brothers

Viviana blinked and looked at the animal again almost like she hadn't been present for a moment and the animal brought her back. She gave Ragina another couple of pets.

"Viviana..." she paused "uh just V..I prefer V" ahe looked up at Vlad "I'll keep that in mind..." sh3 added glancing at the stalion

Regina's eyelids lowered and she leaned into the touch.
"Very good Vivian... V..." Vlad corrected himself. He finished buckling the last strap. It looked like a simple, rather plain harness across her back. Then Vlad started adding the feathers and the tacked on bits of glittery fabric. "By the way, I was hoping to run into you at some point, though this is sooner than I expected. Why were you watching us last night from the dark?"

She didn't answer for a moment, mesmerized by Ragina's soft coat.

"Because that is when people speak their truth" she answered "when they think they are not heard" so she was used to lies by the sound of it

Vlad smiled slightly. "Or they lie their best because they are lying to themselves." He took Regina's head gently and guided the unicorn's head down so he could attach a string of sparkles along its length in a spiral. "I understand what you mean, though."

Sbe paused at his words and frowned more "How do you know when it is truth then?" She looked at him suspiciously. Was he trying to get into her head? What was his game here? What did he want from her?

Vlad considered this as he finished his work then gave Regina a soft pat. "Time and practice mostly as well as keeping an open mind that not everyone will lie about everything but guarding yourself at the beginning. And remembering that people can change their minds if you give them reason to. And opening your heart to yourself." He gave a slight shrug, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he smiled at her. "There is no easy answer or one that does not sound supremely - what is the word - cheesy?"

Viviana stepped back again since it looked like he was about ready to go "I don't know what to make of you yet" she decided. He had given her things to consider though and that was something she supposed

Vlad chuckled. "We have known each other for less time than it takes to make a meal. Most decisions take far longer than that." He looked at Regina's golden hide and sighed. "Others... moments." He gave her a smile and a nod. "Please excuse me. I need to get Negru ready and then I have other business to attend to that will not wait. Stop by whenever you wish."

Viviana gave a little nod and then was gone without a sound. Simply there one moment then gone. Not unlike her ghostly friend

Vlad tied Regina to the back of the wagon and fetched Negru in thoughtful silence. Once the pair were dressed and ready to work, he put them in a small paddock near the big top with a small bucket of oats. They'd be ready when it was time for their part of the show. That done, he went to find Adanya, Kazimir, and Spectra.

By then they had just gotten back to spectra with pillows blanket and food to try and make her comfortable. Spectra could hardly hold the spoon and felt embarrassed to have them sitting there watching her struggle just to eat.

Adanya did not understand why she wasn't eating the food

Vlad noticed and stepped up. "I have a plan," he said. In one smooth motion, he knelt, placed the spoon securely in Spectra's hand, then rose and stepped away from the cage, his back to her to give her privacy.

Kazimir scrambled to his feet, instinctively turning to face the same direction as his brother and away from Spectra. "You do? What is it?"

Adanya perked up a bit and her focus shifted to Vlad too. Though she didn't turn her back "what do we do Vlad?" She was willing to help am follow. Being around Kaz..she had opened up a little

Vlad took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "We are going to get Spectra's wings back. I need you two to help me distract the others and let the twins complete the mission."

Kazimir nodded then paused. "Wait... the twins? But... Felix's wagon..." He looked at Vlad anxiously then glanced at Spectra mutilated form.

Adanya blinked "wings?" She repeated. Spectra hadn't mentioned her wings to anyone but Vlad and he alone, st least among her friends, knew what she was.
She shook that off for now and nodded "I can keep Felix distracted. Many things I can complain to him about" she knew she frustrated him and knew she could get away with it too. He needed her.

Vlad did not bother explaining the wings. Kazimir might eventually figure it out - he'd been obsessed with fictional fairies when he was young - but it did not matter. They were retrieving something that belonged to Spectra, and that was all that mattered. "There are new people, the new security. Do you think you could use the cats as a reason for alarm? Perhaps rig an escape but keep them calm enough to not escalate into anything too harmful?"

"Oh! I can keep an eye on Keith!" Kazimir said brightly.

Adanya frowned slightly "I am not sure...these new people would not cause my friends harm?" That was her only concern with that. She liked Spectra alright but her cats came first. Always

"They are under orders not to harm the circus folk. They would not do anything to make Felix angry," Vlad said quietly.

"The main one of their group, Marcel?" Kazimir said, "There is something... very dark about him."

"I know," Vlad nodded. "I will try to keep them in line."

Adanya nodded "then we will preform" she was still concerned. If anyone touched the animals she couldn't promise they wouldn't hurt anyone

"When will we do this?"

Vlad looked up and frowned. "I would rather not get too many people involved, but if there are a few citizens around, perhaps that would make things more distracting. Shortly after the circus opens before too many people arrive. Felix will want to shut things down as quickly as possible and keep the damage contained."
