We have one vacancy, and an odd number of players, so I'll allow it to fill the group out. If you get it in to be today. You won't have a much time to do revisions as everyone else though, so get it in quick!

General Info:


Name: Freebooter-Boss Garzok

Race: Ork

Gender: Though technically a genderless fungoid, Orks prefer masculine terms such as ‘he’, ‘him’.

Height: 7’

Weight: 399 lbs.

Home Universe: Warhammer 40k (OC)

Armor: Garzok has little in the way of armor; instead he relies on bizarre biomechanical enhancements he has found/invented over the years. What armor he does have is on his shoulders and stomach in the form of heavy steel plates. All his weapons, armor and cybernetics are made from heavy Ferris alloys, which slow him down and encumber him a lot.

Weapons: His primary gun is a temperamental Heat-Blaster he built himself. Barely small enough to be held in one hand, this ‘Mega-Slugga’ fires beams of raw heat energy to melt metal. It is also known to overheat, sometimes to fantastic extremes. Well, it’s an on-going project. For closer range fighting, Garzok will use two weapons he stole from a rival boss called the ‘Gunchoppas’. Part shotgun, part chainsaw, these could individually not be held in one natural hand, even by Garzok. To use them he has them mounted to short strong robotic arms mounted to his stomach. Garzok has one milky-white alien prosthetic in place of his whole left arm, on which is mounted an anti-armor sawblade, that works very, very slow but can cut through most allows, particularly aimed at tanks and other slow-moving armours. Finally, Garzok has two more robotic arms attached to a huge battery pack on his back. They carry a heavy metal sign that can double for a simple weapon in dire straits and a large wrench that, on top of being used to fix broken items, can serve a similar purpose to the sign.

Cybork Body: Along Garzoks spine and legs are augmentations that not only allow him to carry his immense weight of his equipment, but also provide higher pain-tolerance.

Bio:

Garzok spent years as the Mek-bosses assistant, toiling in under-estimation. When Boss Gobn died on the battlefield, Garzok saw the reigns passed down to him mid battle. The others disagreed, but after aggressive feats of superiority that could be either called brilliant or insane, the other freebooters in his piratical war band would learn who is boss, some of them the hard way, and all of this mid-battle.

With half his troops remaining, Garzok would pull through by only the skin of his teeth and sheer, mad luck. Some say he’s only lucky and doomed to fall, others claim he possesses mad genius and is a threat to humanity everywhere. Either way, Garzok’s career as a pirate among the stars was just beginning…

Unfortunately yes, glmstr and Lobos you two will be waiting out the first round. I'll go ahead and run the rest of the round 2 matches alongside the round 1, but since you two are slated to be paired against the winners of round 1, you two will be awaiting the resolution of the round 1 matches to start. Feel free to make use of the time with the lobby, observing the other combatants matches (perks of having to wait!), or just shooting the breeze.
 
Everyone who sent me their sheets in private message, please get them posted up into here now that submissions are closed. We'll be starting the actual matches tomorrow at noon. I'll get all the threads setup tonight to give people time to muse on things and formulate battle strategies in the meanwhile, but they won't be unlocked until noon tomorrow (EST time).

Appearance
Sarika is a lithe individual with the build of a dancer: powerful leg muscles for the swiftness and ease of movement and a limber upper adept at using a one handed sword. Though her hair is typically long enough to fall down to mid back, it's pulled up and around her head in a tight braid.


Abilities
Though human, Sarika possesses a few abilities inherited from traces of fae in her family bloodline. Her main ability allows her to dash in any direction for just a few feet without touching the ground, propelled by a short gust of wind.

Additionally, she can guide this wind with her strikes, helping her parry and toss strikes away from her if she isn't able to do it on her own, or helping her play with opponents in a couple ways, be it to cause them to stumble, to stir up dust, etc.


Armor
Gauntlet
The Gauntlet is set up much like Thistle, where it has six cartridges linked to small, sharp razors that can pierce Sarika's skin. They can be strengthened by runes lining her pauldron. They contain the following buffs:

  • Dragonskin: Sarika's skin hardens, temporarily protecting her from a large portion of danger, including intense heat, cold, piercing, and crushing. The effect lasts roughly a minute.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 1: Scales line Sarika's body, giving her an extra layer of protection against attacks that buff the original effects twofold.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 2: Flames envelop Sarika, melting the scales to her skin and armor, creating an all-but-penetrable defense.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 3: The enchantment interacts with Sarika's natural ability, creating a fearsome tornado of shrapnel and flame around her, leaving her in the calm eye of the storm.
  • Speedster: As though the woman isn't fast enough, this buff gives her a speed that makes it difficult for even the wielder to keep up with, making her merely a blur to the eye. It also lasts a minute.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 1: Sarika gains heightened interpretation to manage her speed while also boosting it further. With this, she can run on walls for a short amount of time and take much larger leaps through the air.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 2: Sarika disappears while moving, moving much faster than the normal human eye can interpret. Using this speed, she can skim water without following in.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 3: The enchantment interacts with Sarika's natural ability, creating a whirlwind around her target that she can manipulate, allowing her to glide within it.

Weapons
Thistle
A long, thin sword not unlike an epee, but with a thin slicing edge that tapers at the end. Its blade is about three feet long, and the very tip has a thin, almost indiscernible cleft. Along its blade and on the hilt are the same runes she uses for her gauntlet.
  • Blade Enchantment: This tip of the sword releases a toxin when it comes into contact with a target, causing a small area to become paralyzed. The more stabs and cuts made with the end of the blade, the worse the effect gets.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 1: The sword crackles with electricity, giving it a small, but shocking voltage that can briefly immobilize a target.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 2: Clouds form above the stage, giving Sarika the ability to call down powerful lighting strikes wherever the tip of her sword hits.
  • Hilt Enchantment: The pommel of the sword is able to deal crushing blows against a target far beyond what it would normally be able to do. Its primary use is to disable armor.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 1: A strong force is created in front of the pommel so that Sarika can deal the blows further from the target (no more than a foot). The force is enough to knock a grown man from his feet.
    • Rune Enchantment Level 2: Striking the ground with the pommel, Sarika can create a tremor that knocks up terrain in the direction she's facing.


Bio
Sarika had an expensive childhood. Her parents poured money into her upbringing, making sure that, no matter what she did, she would become a prodigy. Her mother wanted her to be a dancer, but her father saw the fire of a warrior in her. Sari decided to become both.

As she grew the young woman found a love for the dance one performed in battle, and associated many of her dance moves in her form. She has pride in her skills and that shows, but she cares more for the thrill of battle. Sari is rarely seen without a grin while she fights, electrified by the dance alone.

Appearance: Like many Sylvae, Kinra appears far younger than his actual age - closer to sixeen than a hundred. His form is slight and dainty like that of a child, and his features are near as youthful. This is in part due to how he perceives himself still very much the 'little brother' when compared to Alorel, and his relatively young age when compared to the lifespans of Sylvae as a whole.

His appearance is more human than many Sylvae, in part due to a desire to fit in amongst the new companions he has found in the Vanguard. His skin is fair but of normal shading, and his hair is a dark brown-black blend with hints of rosey pinks and reds that occasionally catch the eye. His eyes are as variable in shade as all sylvae, but usually rest either at a soft red-brown shade or a more rosey pink.

Abilities:

  • Calongáel - A mighty weapon of Sylvae make, forged from the supernatural wood of a great tree at the heart of the Court of Thorns. Calongáel is the source of much of Kinra's power. Capable of forming into the shape of any weapon that he desires, it possesses immense strength as though it were being wielded by a giant as opposed to a slight Sylvae boy. Nigh on indestructible and capable of cutting through mundane metals as easily as through flesh, Calongáel is as dangerous as it is beautiful. Kinra has total command of the weapon, and is able to manipulate it with his thoughts, and teleport it to his side instantaneously from wherever it is. Any foe attempting to assert control over the weapon through means such as telekinesis find doing so as difficult as if they were attempting to wrest it from the grip of a titan, so close is his bond to it. So long as he is in possession of the weapon, his durability, speed and strength are all enhanced to beyond-human levels. Standard manipulation of Calongáel requires very little in the way of exertion on Kinra's part, but using its more advanced forms is more taxing.
    Specific Forms: (note: these are not the only forms Calongáel can take, but they stand out as 'unusual' in the respect that they are not merely alternate shapes/minor divisions)
    • Dagger Storm Form - Kinra splits Calongáel into a cloud of dozens of razor-sharp daggers, that he can direct and manipulate like a swarm of angry insects.
    • Thorn Shield Form - Kinra forms Calongáel into a mighty spiked greatshield, large enough to cover his small frame entirely from one side. The shield can be charged with additional power to strengthen it, and if broken, reforms as Calongáel's standard spear form.
    • Great Lance Form - Kinra forms Calongáel into a vast spear swathed in radiant energy, that he launches like a bullet with enough force to decimate a tank. (1-2 prep)
    • Sunburst Cannon Form - Kinra forms Calongáel into a great golden tower, that then unleashes a cataclysmic explosion of radiant power on a wide area, decimating it with heat and force. (2-3 prep)

  • Prince of Roses - powers granted to Kinra by his powerful bloodline.
    • Flight
      • Kinra is able to dart and flit through the air with all the precision and speed of a nimble insect. He's incredibly difficult to pin down while in the air, and can accelerate to high speeds near instantaneously.
    • Minor-Moderate Illusions
      • Kinra can create illusions ranging in size from that of a tiny bug to that of a moderately sized building, and is able to replicate all senses bar touch with these illusions. These illusions are caused by influencing the minds of the observers.
    • Heartsight - the ability to read emotions and tell when a lie is being told with a touch. No real combat application.
    • Plant Manipulation/Growth
      • Commanding and growing existing plants is easier than spawning new ones, but he is able to do the latter as well.
      • The plantlife can be grown to impossible sizes and manipulated with precise control.
    • Beast Speech/Command
      • Kinra can exert near total control over non-intelligent animals, with the exception of particularly loyal companions such as trained dogs, that may be able to resist any commands that turn them against their companions.
    • Wispfire - the creation and manipulation of fiery wisps of primal energy.
      • This may take the form of small balls of fire, or larger blasts/flamethrowers.
      • The fire is inherently magical in nature, and burns at a target's soul as well as their physical form.
    • Radiance - the creation of weaponised blasts of radiant energy, possessing many of the supernatural qualities of sunlight with regard to its effect on vampires and other creatures of darkness.
    • Crown of Flowers - the projection of an aura that shields Kinra and his allies from mental manipulation, and grants supernatural courage and resolve.
      • This does not render Kinra immune to mental manipulation, but he is less susceptible to being mentally influenced, including being more difficult to fool with illusions (this does not apply to illusions created by the alteration of light, as opposed to fooling the viewer's mind)

Your arena threads are up, but still locked. Feel free to glance over them. I'll be unlocking them at noon tomorrow. I posted in each thread designating who will be going first in each match. Apologies for the lack luster descriptions. Still recovering from the flu, and with Dashmiel sick as well now, I figured better to get something rather than nothing written up, and just leave you guys to some creative liberties with it.

That said, everyone my feel free to make use of your FIRST post to establish any specifics for the playing field that you would like as long as it fits within the overarching description.

The lobby is unlocked and may be used for posting.
 
@Randium Hey, hate to do this but there's some hiccups with your post. I would have caught it during the profile revision stage but there was nothing in the profile to suggest you intended your character to be enslaved and forced into the tournament, or that he was an uncontrollable beast.

As written your character wouldn't make sense to be a contestant. It's not roman gladiator type arena where you get thrown in a pit against your will to fight to the death. The contestants need to walk out, stand in a designated spot in the arena, sync into a virtual reality, and then have the mental capacity to not murder their opponent when they unsync even if said opponent is lying helpless on the ground in front of them.

Violence in the lobby would be grounds for disqualification from the tournament (never mind outright murder in the lobby), and there wouldn't be arena masters forcing people to combat. Or masters of any kind.

Given the miscommunication I'm willing to delay the start of your match to get it rectified.

Okay all the arena threads are unlocked (except Otomos and Randium's, which is being delayed pending some fixes. The match will be extended to make up any lost time in the delay).

Quick reminder, post window is 48 hours (starting from 12:00pm EST today). The 48 timer is reset every time someone posts. If any contestant fails to post within the allotted time, their opponent may make a second post (previously made attacks may not be auto-landed, but the accumulated attacks/preps will need to be contended with). Match duration is 2 weeks and will end on Thursday January 19th, at 12:00pm EST).

If a match isn't resolved into a KO by the end of the allotted match time, it will be judged on the criteria outlined in the first post of this thread to determine a winner.

First round posts are non-combat posts. Use these to establish your character, any details you want to specific for the arena playing field, equipment, and any pre-combat setup. This means no preping, no laying traps to blind-side an opponent syncing in, etc.

If anyone has any questions, let me know.
 
@Otomos the Crazy and @Randium your guys thread is unlocked now and ready to begin. We're starting you guys exactly 24 hours later than the other matches, so we'll tack 24 hours on the end to make up for the lost time. Your match will end on the 20th, unless a KO is reached before then.
 
Hey guys, I'm so sorry for my inactivity lately - But with all the RP's I'm a part of and all the projects I've promised my time to, I just can't give this contest the attention it deserves. Would it be okay for me to back out at this point? Tiko, could you take over for me and have me lose the fight with Aman? I know this is not preferrable, but I just feel like if I kept up you guys would be lucky to get a post from me every two days.
