Etoliea Uneam - New Beginnings

Malini watched in quiet terror as the elf brought three deer to the creature. Not wanting to share the same fate, she dove into the water and peeked her head out of the surface, ready to dive down at a moments notice.

Odam notices a white haired blue skinned creature drawing. Odam gleams that the person is travel worn and most likely a drifter or someone who would need a hand . “Greetings traveler I am Odam. I seek local knowledge. Are you familiar with the locals?”

Toebo gave a sound like a shriek in shock at the sight of the floating box, but wasn't at all opposed to the offering. With a noise like a cackle and another squeal, this one in glee, he extended a wing and swept the deer away, into his breast. His head was hidden for a moment behind his wing, and thoroughly unpleasant noises emanated from behind the cover for a little while, before falling silent. Toebo revealed his head again, beak stained in blood. He seemed to smile, and dunked his beak under the water to drink, staining the blood red. He came back out of the water and looked to the elf, face still pulled in something like a childish smile. "What's your name, elf?" He asked.

The elven woman watched the bird eat the deer silently, with a straight face. He had good manners, for an enormous bird. Her eyelid twitched in irritation when he sullied the waters with blood, but she remained silent. It was only fair, she supposed. When he inquired after her name, she inclined her head politely. "Fairuz. And yours, winged one?"

Malini swam away from the commotion, looking instead toward the fae warrior who seemed to be striking up a conversation with a man who seemed to be drawing something. She slowly swam through the water, not wanting them to notice her eavesdropping.

Toebo nodded. "Toebo Vessaius." He said. "If you ever need anything that I could help with, you just look for me. I'm not very difficult to miss!" He laughed curtly. He got to his feet and stretched out his wings to their full length, casting shadows beneath him.

Fairuz nodded, giving Toebo a small, rare smile. "And if you ever happen upon trouble with rocks, I can help you. If you can find me." She watched him spread his wings, inhaling sharply in awe. He was a majestic beast, indeed.

Malini gazed up as the birds large wings shaded the waters. For a few seconds she was in awe, then quickly she realized what a danger he posed. She five down to wait for the beast to leave.

Toebo tensed and relaxed his body once. He looked down at Fairuz. "I'd hold on to something. Or do something with those earth powers of yours!" He looked over his shoulder at the forest behind him. "I've got an appetite!" He laughed again, and then kicked off the ground. He flapped his wings as he soared over the lake, then doing a u-turn and flying towards the forest, just skimming the tops of trees as he did.

Hold ont-- oh, he was going to take off. Reaching out quickly with her left hand, she bent the rock from the deer toward her, anchoring herself to the ground. She was glad Toebo was going off to hunt -- he'd seemed so sad and hungry before. She watched him soaring over the trees, feeling satisfied. And now the lake would be peaceful.

Looking up at the sky as the dark shadow of the avian left as he soared away, Malini felt more safe and secure now that he had left. Resurfacing, she looked around to see that more creatures had done the same. Deciding she wanted to do something a bit more exciting, she dove down again, this time breaking through the surface to create a spray of water, amusing some of the nearby youth, while annoying their elders. She didn't care too much, as instead she was just relieved she didn't have to worry about being hunted.

Whirling around to the source of the voice that Reloros assumed to be addressing him, he examined the speaker. Full plate, sword, definitely a warrior or some sort. Unsure of its true intentions but reassured by the fact that it made itself known, he decided to reply.

"Local knowledge? I'm as clueless as you in that regard. Although..." looking down at his papers, he searched for anything he had down on lakes in the area. "Ah. If I'm correct, this is the lake Uneam, but that's all I've got." Taking another look at the biped before him, his curiosity took over. "Odam, was it?" Not waiting for a reply, he continued. "What exactly are you?"

“I am sorry, stranger.” He looks the person up and down. “I do not know your customs, but I did give you my name. I am Odam.” Odam leans in to examine the odd person’s notepad. “As to what I am that requires at least two bottles of Summer Lord’s best. It is more of who I am. I am a protector and bondsman. Who are you.”

Noticing the conversation between the two creatures on the ground was getting interesting, Malini swam other in their direction, making sure only her eyes could be seen.

Reloros gave a curt nod at the response he received. Still unsure of the truth of Odam's words, Reloros hesitated to answer the question he was asked. Still, if this person is who he says he is, there should be nothing to fear until he does something unfavorable. "...Reloros." He stated simply. Noticing Odam was staring at his notes, he turned them so that he would be unable to see.

"Reloros is a strong name." Odam looks around fighting the urge to touch his hilt. "Does this place feel odd to you? I feel a tension just under the surface. Additionally, I swear I feel someone watching me."
Odam glances around looking at the lake and forestline.

"Watching you? I don't feel anything..." As he said this, Reloros looked around the surrounding area for anything that might be listening in, but found nothing.

"Is your business at the lake dangerous?" Odam cannot shake the feeling of being watched. He remembers the stories his fellow travelers told about massive beasts that tricked creatures into drowning.
"I ask because I am in between charges and willing to offer my sword until I find a new one."

"No, not in the slightest." Reloros took another glance around, now suspicious of whether or not the conversation was indeed private. "I've simply stopped here to rest."

Malini felt bad for eavesdropping, so she went under and looked around to try to find something to do. All the other Selvis were playing a game, but it wasn't one she knew and she didn't want to ask what it was. So she decided she would do some sunbathing instead. Finding a rock large enough for her to lay on, she hoisted herself up and curled into a small ball, while still keeping one eat on the conversation in case it became more interesting.
