What do you want most in an RP?

(I'm terribly sorry if this is in the wrong category. I didn't know where this would go; between this and Out-Of-Character Discussion)

1. What do you want in an RP? What do you want it to be about?

2. What needs to be implemented or improved?

3. What is your favorite aspect?

I'd say the best thing in an rp for me personally is when it's about the characters evolving. Especially when the plot is developed by both writers to grow all the protagonists. A lot of times this means plenty of dialogue and explaining behavior and so on. These sorts of rps stick with you forever, and the characters become a fond memory that you often want to revisit.

I wasn't sure what your second question is about, the site or rping in general. In general, rping has a lot of miscommunication, and it ends up causing one-sided enjoyment in a fun hobby.

And my favorite aspect is the other writers of course. The main reason rping is so fun is because you have a partner(s) to bounce ideas off. Everything they write is out of your control, and it really requires for you to understand your own character to properly react to it all!

For me, I want depth in an rp. I want to get to know the characters as if they were real people, and I want to experience their story. I like engaging stories, whether the genre is drama, action, or comedy. I also really enjoy getting to know my rp partner. Don't be afraid to message me outside of our rp.

As StellaLuna4 said, I also feel like miscommunication happens a lot when rping. I feel like that could be improved upon by the rp community in general.

My favorite aspect is seeing what other writers and myself can create! Writers can come up with some amazing things by themselves, and some do very well in the regard, but personally, having someone to throw ideas back and forth with is wonderful. Most of my best ideas come from talking with my best friend and creating a story together.

An engaging story is foremost from what I would like to experience from my own roleplays, added with some depth, watching the story evolve along with my characters, see how the story expands through the use of our contribution.

Writing partly to me is always an enjoyable read and I like to experience that familiar sensation of wanting more, to explore, to develop etc.

I’ll be coming from the perspective from a general roleplayer, and not a site one; since I haven’t been here long to draw any conclusions. But miscommunication is definitely what I’d add, as aforementioned from the two users above – as well as a lack of contribution from one partner can make the RP stagnant and not as enjoyable as it could have been.

Watching the story develop, grow and mature through the use of our influence, impact and involvement is my favourite. C:

1. What do you want in an RP? What do you want it to be about?
Something fascinating.
2. What needs to be implemented or improved?
A conflict, a clear direction toward attempting to resolve that conflict (even if there is no clear end), and a general sense of pacing that ensures that each scene has a point or purpose.

Also, some general indicator that the GM is willing to work hard on it and/or knows what they're doing certainly doesn't hurt.
3. What is your favorite aspect?
Of what? If you mean role playing in general, it's the creation of a story with satisfying moments of both success and defeat, life and death, love and loss.

What I want in a roleplay is so hard to summarize, because the things that I like are so wide and varied. The biggest thing is that I want good characters that fit the roles that are necessary for the story to follow. As for actual stories, I like a wide variety of genres, but I need a romantic subplot.
What I want the most in an rp right now is to have a partner that is creative, inspired, and into the same general things as me to start with one story and then follow into multiple alternative universes with these characters, but I've been looking for that for about 3 years since my last partner vanished, so I'm sticking with looking for someone that can write each role to the story I'm craving any given day.

Things that I could improve upon are vast and varied, but most of them are down to miscommunication as has been hashed and rehashed a few times before.

Lastly, and this is my third attempt at articulating what is the most important to me. In a word, it is the characters.

All of my favorite roleplays have had one theme in common: they had amazing characters that were three dimensional with real reactions to various situations. Whether it was a simple slice of life story with young people that were just living their lives or action/adventure tales of men and women fighting to survive. These were beautifully written characters with flaws and faults and virtues and humor. They had crutches and bad habits and made mistakes, fought over stupid things and made up on a lark. They didn't always stick to the script that I wanted to play with the plot, but they brought life and light to the roles that they were in and I loved these stories the most.

Second most important item is humor. I'm not an overly serious person. The last time I was in a car accident, I made certain everyone else was okay and then started cracking jokes. It's just the sort of person I am and while I know not everyone is, I find that humor makes me like a roleplay a heck of a lot more than something serious.

Well. First of all.
I want character development, i want to see the characters socialize and get to know each other as the adventure progresses. I absolutely hate bland characters with no personality.

Second...
Well, usually when a role-play takes place. What people usually demand you to improve is your writing. I would say the writing is what should be improved on overall.

And Finally.
If it's a Role-playing aspect. I'd say the whole pot development is my favorite aspect. Seeing heroes and villains change during the course of the story is something usually very satisfying and very likeable. The lack of exaggeration also adds quite a lot to how a Role-play is developed.

1. What do you want in an RP? What do you want it to be about?

My biggest want out of an rp is to have a detailed and in depth story that keeps everyone involved and interested

2. What needs to be implemented or improved?
Hard to say, usually depends on the rp or situation.

Personally I find I need to improve my dialogue and action sttucture a little bit. Sometimes I drag a paragraph on for a long time.

3. What is your favorite aspect?
The people. One person can tell a pretty awesome story but you get multiple people working together on something and it becomes something incredible
