Ryuna - Sanctuary

Perking her ears the fox turned a golden eye on the male for a moment, "To look inside yourself is to see yourself in a different way," She tapped her chin, "For example. When I first came into this world I didn't know that I could call fire to my add at any time. It took some digging around inside my soul to find the box that held that power. Our souls are designed in such a way that no two are the same. For me it's a vast darkness filled with millions of boxes each unique and distinguishable from the next. For you..." Her eyes shifted to a pale blue color that was very similar to the fire she was able to command, "I would say it's a vast library each book will hold something that makes you who you are. A trait of the physical form or a trait of your mental abilities. A photographic memory can be used to benefit you and should never be seen as a curse."

Ryuna ate a bit more before continuing after washing some of the food down with water, "Imagine you are sitting before a chess board. The pieces are laid out before you simple and neat. With in the first move or two you should be able to see the end result of the game if you use your mind's abilities to map it out and understand the predictable nature of war. Many factors can play into this most depend on your knowledge of the person you are facing," Her eyes returned to that normal golden color as she continued to eat slowly. Eventually she settled on simply sipping her water, "I used to be able to predict the outcome of any battle we entered. Due to my relaxed and suppressed memories I was unable to see the pawns on the board. The only piece I could see was myself and the King that I believed I was loyal to."

"People change and as they change their paths become less visible to them. On looker may think they see the way ahead clearly but there are many creatures lurking in the underbrush and trees. Even under the bridge. Find who you are use that knowledge to find the path best for you," Reaching over she tapped the cover of his book, "But you won't find it by gazing at the past of someone else."

He opened and closed his eyes as if trying to understand what she had told him. the weight of her words seeming to sink in slowly, yet on some level he understood them perfectly as if he had always known the answer. "That's... A lot to take in all at once..." Truthfully he felt bad that he didn't have much to add after all that, it was so, detailed and had truths within truths.... Yet letting go of his book seemed. Unthinkable. It always made him happy whenever he took a peek inside to read the stories and to see the beautiful artwork. It's not like he let it dictate his life or used it as a way to define himself... Did he?

Before he could go into deeper though he felt a chill run up his spine. There was a strange magical disturbance in Abbadon, "Did you feel that?" Asking without really thinking. In truth, he didn't expect her to feel it since Faeries are more in tune with magic than possibly any other race in the world. But being the literal tree of life maybe she still had senses that told her of what is going on in the world, at least to a less extent.

The energy was powerful, dark, unforgiving, yet somehow a small speck of goodwill was inside it. Was it Legion again? It seemed like it, yet he didn't have that little spark the last time, possibly something else? Not likely. It was coming from the Tavern where Wroth and Byrnhild went.... "Legion's out again!" The Aegis spheres stuck to his right and left arm in a ring as he looked as if he was going to rush out to battle.

The fox's ears splayed slightly at the loud out burst from Andrew. Her gaze showed him more so how displease she was with him for being so loud when right next to her, "Hush," She told him softly, "I can't tell how this will go but there is nothing to be done about it now."

Her long tails swayed slightly behind her as she conjured a long stemmed pipe and a bag of herbs. Packing the bowl she then lit the herbs with a bit of her fire. Taking a long draw from it she leaned back more in her seat. She seemed to be in thought as she pulled the mouth piece from her lips and let a cloud of white smoke drift up from her now parted lips, "She is on her own from this moment forward till she can win the battle with what she will become. Only then can she look past herself and see the world beyond the cage of her previous self," Ryuna patted Andrew's head, "Simply observe what will happen."

He was surprised at how relaxed she was which left him worried and then a bit confused to no end with her words. "What? What are you talking about Aun- Miss Ryuna?" Despite still being on edge Andrew still managed to sit down and observe what Ryuna was doing..... Wait. "Are you getting high?" He pointed at the herbs and the pipe, his tone was more questioning than annoyed or angry, Andrew took in the scent of the smoke she puffed. It was sweet, strong and made him feel, clear, like a door in his mind has been opened up to a whole new experience.

"Can you please explain what is going on?" unconsciously gripping the table as if it were a book, "What do you mean what she will become? Are you talking about Miss Xena? Miss Brynhild? Legion?" He was going to ask what in gods name did she mean observe but maybe she was talking more metaphorically since he is able to sense the strange energy emanating from the Talisman Tavern.

The fox glanced at the boy yet again, "It's not getting high but rather canceling out everything that would distract me internally and allowing me to focus upon one task at a time," She stared fondly at the pipe as she twisted it slightly before taking another hit from it, "The world is distracting and complex. Often times there are many ways to look at everything but to see things as they are is beautiful. As for what is happening to our dear friend there is nothing to be done. She knew that when she did it. All that matters now it that she can survive. As insane as Legion can be, they aren't a fool. That was one thing I learned about that person quickly when I met them. They know with their eyes what is natural and not for they are unnatural. Like myself."

When had she last talked so much she wondered slightly as she stared now up at the ceiling. Her magic was swelling again becoming stronger. There were other things she could feel. Far off in the distance of her past. Something was changing hands. A new light was beginning to flicker to life. Hope was still there in the world. One just had to look beyond the walls of the physical existence.

"Ah! It's a herb that sharpens the mind!" He said finally getting what the concoction was, "Well that-" He was cut off again when he felt an explosion of raw power coming from the location of the Tavern, "-Just happened....." Turning his head slowly obviously worried, that seemed to be all that he could feel right now, as the energy of who he could only guess belonged to Brynhild change into something else, something more primal and raw.

"What was Legion like?" Not really thinking of the question he asked. True Legion was his favorite for a number of reasons, the power, the artwork in the book, the.... Hotness. Yet Andrew felt something when he looked at the pages, it seemed silly. Even insane to have such an interest in someone you've never met. But in every artwork he saw of the white beauty, he could see something. Something that Andrew wanted most of all. Strong self-esteem. And that, at least to him made Legion the most fascinating Harbinger.

She gave a slight nod, "What just happened was one coming into their own. A Daeva being created is an unnatural event. And unnatural events are felt by all those that live and exist," Giving a stretch the fox took another puff from her pipe, "She will be fine if she has made it this far. As for your question... Where do I begin?"

Ryuna gave a soft sigh before she conjured a bit of fire to help give her something physically to do, "They were a person who you could never completely comprehend like the Metatron's Cube. It never seems to explain itself and never will," She leaned forward and rested an elbow on the table next to her, "In many ways I envied the Daeva for at least knowing who they were and what they were designed to do. They even were clear in their place upon these vast lands," casting her gaze to him it was sad, "At the time I had no knowledge of who I was or why I existed. It was as if they knew this and kept me at an arms length. They never for a moment allowed me to believe that I could be normal like the humans or beasts that roamed the world. Honestly, I would have enjoyed being closer to someone but I was unable to understand."

Still sitting down his posture and attention was now fully fixed on the Kitsune who he had known only as his auntie, "Designed? What do you mean by that?" No one that he knew of that had knowledge of the Harbingers could explain to him what Wroth and Legion was, they were an enigma to everyone it seemed. He cocked his head clearly confused, "Are you saying that someone, or something, created them?" She might have half answered his question about Legion's personality but this discussion about his and Wroth's origins could give him a speculation on some things.

That moment of intrigue and excitement was quickly shot in the knee with an arrow. Her sad expression was almost too much, he could sympathize with her pain. Hell, they were talking about a few minutes ago... To a certain degree, Andrew swallowed hard at how awkward he felt and about how she might have been feeling. "Don't you have a relationship with the Grandwarden?" Being in Oblitus for about 80 years one would expect him to be rather lost on current figures, but the rumor-mill runs strong no matter where you chose to be.

The fox's ears drooped a bit at the mention of the Grandwarden, "That is a very simple thing to explain yet so difficult at the same time," taking a breath she sighed heavily, "That man wasn't truly a man at all. He was merely a part of the Lucifer. He had erased my memories of the Harbingers and made me believe that I was a tool used to protect the lives of man. What sort of sick joke it must have been... The fox that rained down fire upon the heads of so many innocent suddenly siding with those she viewed as weak and worthy of only being a good meal," Her body shook, "After Aditi's Plume was stolen we gave chase into Kyramn forest only to for us to become separate. I protected those who fought to belong and longed to live only to find they didn't trust me to guild them and to know what was correct when dealing with the Forest Spirit that guarded the forest. Faced with the choice of saving them or letting them die before they ever had a chance to live I chose them over the forest and burnt most of it to the ground. Only to have those I had saved lash out and call me a monster."

Tears slipped down her cheeks before she swiped at them, "I know that the feelings I have now are natural but they are overwhelming and unsettling. I found parts of my memory began to return and the spell that kept me from knowing who that Grandwarden was broke. Finding just his armor I crushed it vowing to destroy Lucifer with everything I am. I am no longer a tool and I care not what this world will think of me. I will become as free as you one day even if it is only after my death in which it happens."

Gripping the sides of his chair so hard that an audible cracking sound could be heard. Andrew's face was a blank yet his eyes were a spectrum of emotion, Rage at Lucifers cruel trick to one that had served him so loyally along with those ungrateful at having their lives spared. Pain for the poor creature that felt trapped and was being manipulated for so long by one that cared nothing for her. There were no words he could say to elevate her pain, no action that could rewrite time to fix what happened so long ago.

He got up from his chair his soft footsteps almost seemed to echo through the building, only to stop as soon as he was in arms reach of her. Looking at her almost like he was amazed that she held this burden for so long. With the suddenness of life Andrew embraced her softly, "I Don't know if this means anything to you.... But If, I'm to stay after Legion.... I don't know." What was he trying to say? That he wanted to help her? That she wasn't going to be alone with people that would take her for granted? What could he do, to mend old wounds of these old ones?

Surprisingly she coiled her arms around the boy and held him close to her, "Don't try to promise me something that you can't keep," petting his hair gently she drew back slightly, "Once the battle begins with Lucifer there will be little to keep me from likely dying. I have hope for Legion and everyone. I know there will be losses but mostly there will be victories that set us free from the chains that bind us."

Pulling away from him more she conjured a blue fire fox that scampered off quickly, "It's a pain that I haven't found him yet. Not that I want to make it easier to find me."

Backing away to give her some space and to wipe a small tear away, "I feel liI'vev'e been doing that all my life." chuckling he stood up and strightened his leather satchel that clung around his chest,"Not trying to start something after our little moment, but why are you even looking for Lucifer right now? Shouldn't we focus on primarily legion than look for the god of all evil?" While talking he was also stuffing down some bread into his bag for later use.

The fox gave a soft sight, "I look for him so I know what he plans and where he is so I can keep those I care for away from his grasp. Like you for instance," She patted his head, "Legion is a bunny compared to Lucifer."

It wasn't an insult to the deva and she was sure they would understand that completely. There were just somethings that the devas just couldn't do and Lucifer could. It always left her all too aware of the simple fact that only Aditi could really stop him when she considered the simple fact that he could turn a soul dark without much thought.

A small blush and a slightly embarrassed turn of his head, "Y-You really mean that?" He didn't clarify whether or not she meant the part about Lucifer being more powerful than what he thought, or her telling him that he mattered to her.

The kitsune smiled gently at the boy. What a young child to be tangled in their mess she found herself thinking as she gave a sigh as she leaned back slightly in her seat, "I mean it all. Lucifer and all those who have found themselves in his path are never going to be the same. The feeling that fills me is one of knowing that the age of time as we know it will quickly come to an end. What will come after it I do not know... I somehow doubt I will be here to see it."

Stretching slightly she glared at the ceiling of the building they were in. It was strong and sturdy but nothing like the tower they used to live in. She missed it now and again. It had been a place where they had been free to do as they please and worry not for what might happen later.

"You will." He moved to the window watching the twilight start to illuminate the city of the damned. Making It actually looked peaceful, for once, and here's thinking that after some people went wild.... Legion. A chill ran up his spine he had offered his talents in defeating Legion, as little as they might be. A Harbinger turned monster. The Soul flyer, The beast of destruction. In a few hours, he would have to face something that could destroy a city with little effort.

"I might not, but you will.." Maybe it was insanity, maybe it was some rite of passage he made for himself just then, or maybe it's because there really is nowhere to run. At least this way even if he died, he could help out people who had more of a purpose than himself. Thinking about this made him dig his nails into the wooden frame of the window.

Maric Vakarian - Approaching the Sanctuary

He and Xena approached his love's greatest achievement arm in arm, ready to face whatever trials were thrown there way. As they entered the Sanctuary, he noticed both Andrew and Ryuna, still here. "Hope you two are feeling better. Unfortunately, it's almost time for Legion to be released. We've agreed to have the battle on the fringe, so if either of you have any questions, now would be the time to ask them." He said with a serious gaze.

The sound of the front door opening startled Andrew out of his 'daydream', "I'm terribly sorry but the owner is out, perhaps you ca- Oh!" He jumped up as soon as he realized it was Mr'Maric and Miss Xena returning. "Mr' Mar- Maric. And Miss Xena your back already? Then again, I always tend to lose track of time." But before he could go off rambling about stuff no one cared about, Maric's announcement of Legion's arrival and a gaze that seemed as hard as stone, made Andrew stop in his tracks.

Almost instantly his throat went dry and shake, "What is he fully capable of?" The words came out without any thought true he had studied extensively about the Harbingers and their abilities. Though books and scrolls could tell only so much. Nothing, he read said Legion was capable of manifesting a shadow avatar that could fling you into the wall with just a glance. His chest ached just remembering that.

The fox shook her head ever so slightly at the boy's assurance that she would be around to see the world after the downfall of all she loved. Her golden gaze became unfocused as she felt something that filled her with a moment of complete pleasure. The threads that connected every being became visible telling her a being she hadn't seen in many thousands of years was on the world even if just for a breath of time. A blue fox appeared only to turn white then vanish as if it could no long survive its nose had been facing to the west. Blinking she stood with a hand on her heart, "Aditi," She whispered gently under her breath. Some event has happened to cause her to appear even if just for a moment...

It made her skin crawl as she tried to understand what could have done it. Her eyes strayed over to Maric and Xena. Had they felt Aditi? Judging by how they were still more concerned with Legion she guessed not, "You don't need me do you?" She asked sharply as her gaze drifted back into the direction she had felt the goddess. Little she was aware that the mark on her chest was now darker in color and seeming to be coloring itself in to where the tree looked alive. The leaves were a vibrant green while the bark was a shading of browns the pentagram at the center of the tree was black as the night sky.

If they didn't need her to help with Legion then she would be racing off to find out why Aditi had appeared. It was a like a rope had been tied about her neck and she could ignore the pull at the other end to find the one at the other end.

As soon as Maric started talking about Legion, Xena zoned out, and instead busied herself with picking out medicine from the shelves, in case someone needs some medical attention in the battlefield. No... it was almost guaranteed for someone to be hurt at this time, but she hoped against all hope that Maric will not be severely injured. It's okay... he promised. She thought to herself, calming her heart. Her anxiety for this fight was way worse than she let others see. It was then that she felt it, a strange energy, a soothing presence... it was something she could not quite grasp. All she understood was one thing: it felt... familiar.

"Aditi." she murmured as she ran to the other side of the room and opened a window, looking into the distance, the direction where she felt the presence of the goddess. Is she back for good? Has someone summoned her? But as soon as she felt the presence, it was gone, leaving her confused. Ryuna's question did not even register in her head.
