Zara's Park Tournament (Pokemon RP)

When the trainer left, it only take a minute for the two Pokemon to come to. They weren't hurt too badly. A bit confused, but they were all right. With no threats in sight, the two Skiddo help each other up before heading off the rejoin the herd.

"Ah, yes... yes, I am. My name's Patricia. I usually go by 'Patty' though," she replies, oblivious to the hand offered for a shake. "And this is my partner, Ribbit." The croagunk croaks briefly at the shinx sniffing at her, before chirping in greeting and patting the shinx on the head.

"Sorry for interrupting your song, by the way. I supposed my partner and I should be going."The man seemed considerate enough. Not to say that she trusted him right off the bat though. The girl wanted to though. And not just because she needed someone to read things for her.

Riley stepped into the fields, sighing in pure bliss. The sounds of Pokémon echoed all around her; a flapping of wings here, a rustle of the grass there, all of it coming together to make the woman feel alive, and happy. Not that she wasn’t happy at the daycare, but the sounds of wild Pokémon were different from there. More...organic. Or something else some hippy would say.

She started to walk across the fields. She couldn’t see any other people, but she was totally fine with that. The human to Pokémon ratio could stay just as it was. Maybe with a bigger number on the Pokémon side though... Hey, that was actually a fair idea! Surely, Bella was going to end up lonely. The little Chingling still on her wrist, she kept her eyes open for any Pokémon that might be catchable.

A Zorua skulks around in the bushes looking for a meal from an unsuspecting victim. The Pokemon hears a trainer walking by and quickly runs into the tall grass. It peaks out to see a trainer with a Chingling wandering about and saw the trainer's pack, probably filled with all sorts of goodies. The Zorua saw it's chance for some food and immediately used Agility to run in and snatch the bag from off the trainer's back.

Dylan looked up from where he had been been sitting, Sam against his chest as the two had a break from walking. Giving the Poochyena a few strokes, he looks around. It had been a while since the battle (after which he had immediately applied a Medi-Heal), and he couldn't see anyone else around. Perfect timing to get some more training in!

Looking down at Sam in his arms, he grins at the pokémon as he stands up, eliciting a slightly worried look from the Bite pokémon as he sets him down. "Okay! Time to go looking buddy! You did amazing last round, so we're gonna take it a bit easier this time around." He tells Sam as he sets off in the direction his Gear was tellinzg him to go, althoug at a slight angle. He was hoping to be able to find a friend for Sam, although if he couldn't some training couldn't hurt.

As the two continued to walk, a sweet smell lingers in the air. An engrossing scent which attracts both trainers and Pokemon. The scent leads to a lone tree where a bunch of barres sit on the tree's branches. From afar the berries look just like normal berries, but upon closer inspection the berries have shown to have eyes, a mouth and legs which they use to move around the tree.

Dylan looked up at the tree, barely restraining himself from sprinting his way towards the clister if berry like pokémon. He had long since recalled Sam after they initally hit the smell, as he had no doubt the puppy would be unable to resist when confronted with such a sweet... delectable... smell...

Shaking his head, Dylan steps back a little as covers his face with his shirt as he raises his Gear roster towards his face. Pointing his hand at the berry like pokemon, the Gear roster screen projects an image of the pokemon and the pokedex entry.

'Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon. A Grass type. It's always emitting a delicious scennf from its body. Lured by its scent, many flying Pokémon mistake it for a berry. These pokemon are always found to be female. It is currently unknown if male Bounsweet exist.'

Well... that explains the smell. Looking up at the tree full of these pokémon, Dylan decides that are more subtle approach was required. Sam wouldn't be able to take on a whole tree's worth of Bounsweets, if he even wanted to considering the general happy attitude they seemed to have and that smell.

Stepping back a bit, Dylan goes with a different route. He had learnt this trick from a travelling Johto trainer during his journeys. Kneeling down, he withdraws a can of pokémon food and opens it slightly, a bit away from the tree. Making sure the wind was favourable, he lets the smell waft towards the Bounsweet. Hopefully one will take the bait.

Around 5 minutes later the smell of food gets past the sweet smell of Bounsweet and reaches the noise of one of the Pokemon. The Pokemon looks up and sniffs the air and turns to see the can of pokemon food. The Bounsweet perks up and climbs down the tree to reach the can. Without any arms, the Bounsweet knocks the can over and began to dig in, eating the pellet like pokefood a mouthful at a time.

Kovu purred at the pat it received from the Croagunk, mewing in approval and bouncing playfully around the pokemon. Jared waved off the girl's apology, then remembered that she wasn't capable of seeing anything. "Ah, no worries. I was winding the song down anyway. But like I was asking, would you like some company to help you along the road? I don't mind company, and it seems like our pokemon are getting along, so why not?"

Dylan was regretting recent life choices. The intial plan had been to lure out one of the Bounsweets, then sick Sam on it so he can capture it. But... looking at the pokemon and how happily it ate the food... this plan was really starting to suck in his mind.

He still wanted the pokemon. It had a bright attitude and, from what his Gear told him, a lot of potential. It's just... something about beating up and then capturing it after luring it away felt wrong. He needed a new plan. Violence can be plan be.

Looking down next to him, he could see that even Sam didn't want to fight. The puppy was sitting down, tail wagging a little as he looked up at Dylan, a questioning look on his face. Giving a sigh, Dylan pinched the bridge of his nose before deciding on what he would do.

He wasn't the best at... this, but he'll give it a shot.

Stepping out of thr underbrush slowly, he approaches the Bounsweet. "Don't be afraid." He murmurs gently. "Do you like that? I have more."

@TheGreenerGrey

The Bounsweet was spooked by the trainer showing up, and quickly run behind a root to hunker down and wait for the trainer to leave. It's disturbance spooks the rest of the Bounsweet into hiding among the thick leaves of the tree. The Bounsweet on the ground however stays on the ground rather then climbing back up and peeks out from behind the root to see what the trainer will do.

Dammit. Dylan was way out of his comfort zone here. This is probably why he has never had a girlfriend, in hindsight. Why couldn't all problems be solved by violence?! What is up with this stupid emotiontal attachment to something he has never encountered before.

Giving mental sigh, he crouches to the ground next to Sam and reaches for the half finished pokemon food. Turning to face the Bounsweet, he shakes the can a little. "Hey, we're not gonna hurt you. You want this? I'm happy to share."

@TheGreenerGrey

The Bounsweet carefully steps from the root and cautiously tip toes to the trainer. It keeps its eye on the human and it's pokemon while it moves to the can and when it can be sure that the trainer won't try to harm it, the Bounsweet continued to eat from the eat at the same pace it had done before. It wasn't long until the can was already empty as the Bounsweet had pretty much devoured the can. When it realized it was done, it looked up and the trainer with curious eyes and a dirty face as if asking the trainer where the food had gone.

It still wanted more? This thing could eat. Dylan wasn't exactly happy to be offering up some of the few pokemon food cans he had, but he figured that it was worth it. Besides, he had looked ariund earlier and he figured there would be enough berries here for him to scrounge together some meals for the (hopefully) three of them.

Slowly reaching into his backpack, he withdraws another can of food and opens it fully, placing it in fromt of the Bounsweet. After the pokémon looks up at him, almost as if asking permission, he gestures towards the food.

@TheGreenerGrey

The Bounsweet watches the trainer as it takes out another can of food and places it on the ground in front of it. The pokemon waited to see if the food was for it, and when it was given to go ahead, it perks up and tips over the can and began to chow down. Not half a minute later and already half the can was already gone.

Watching the little one chow down was almost cathartic in a way. Amodst all the rush of life, it was good to just stop and admire a cute thing eating. Wait. Nevermind. Anyways, Dylan felt it was time to try making the Bounsweet an offer. He wasn't sure about this, having only done it once and that had been after a lot of trauma for both him and Jonathan, but he felt he could do it.

"Hey." He begins, to which the Bounsweet looks up at him. "Uh... what do you think of letting me be your trainer? I have more of the food, and you would get to explore the world to eat all kinds of things and see a bunch of different stuff and uh... you could, um, get stronger? I guess? If you want. Evolve, protect your friends."

He was pretty sure he was the least convincing person on the planet right now.

@TheGreenerGrey

The Bounsweet continued to eat but stopped when the trainer began to talk. It offered to bring the Pokemon along as the Bounsweet's trainer. It tells the Bounsweet that the Pokemon can explore the world, protect her friends and eventually evolve. But the thing that peeked her attention the most is the prospect of travelling the world and getting to taste and eat so many wonderful things. With that it mind the pokemon makes its decision and jumps into the arms of the trainer.

As the bounsweet jumpe into Dylan's arms, the trainer had to physically stop himself from squeaking a little bit. How could something be this cute?! Hugging the little pokémon back a bit, sits down with her still in his lap. "Right," he begins, holding her up so he could see her face to face. "I think the first order of business will be making you official. Hold still for a second, would ya?" He asks as he reaches for his belt and withdraws a safari ball.

A small tap on the back of the Bounsweet's head was all it took, and after the ball stopped moving in his hand he let her out again, the Pokémon somewhat disoriented. "Yeah, don't worry about that. If it's your first time in a pokeball it can be a bit confusing." Dylan tells her as Sam rushes past frim behind him ti sniff and greet at his new teammate.

"Next up, you need a name! Can't just call you Bounsweet until the end of time." Dylan says, grinning. "What about... Anastasia! Wait no. That wouldn't fit something as happy as you!" He says happily as he squishes the Bounsweet a bit. "Hrm... what about... Anna! Anastasia for later, and Anna for now! What do you think?"

The Bounsweet seems to deliberate for a second, before and even larger smile grows on her face as she nods and lets out a cry. With that, Dylan outs Anatasia down next to Sam. "Right! Let's get moving guys! We have a lot of ground to cover, and don't think that just because you got out of battling this time around we wont do so later Sam!" He says cheerily, making his way back on track.

The Poochyena grumbles a little bit, before picking up the pace, the newly named Anastasia bouncing happily by his side.

All of a sudden, Bella cried out. Riley jumped and froze, which made the Zoura miss, where it wouldn't have if she had kept on walking. She looked down at the dark type, smiling softly. "Go, Bella! We want to catch this one!" She chirped shrilly. The Chingling jingled happily, floating down the floor. "Use Yawn!"
