Glitchy Dragon

NightCrawler
Heat; It was everywhere. Your characters squint ,after reaching the end of the long staircase, from the bright glow of lava and magma everywhere. Dragon-made stone bridges scattered the large area providing the workers acessibility to certain areas across the lava. Some can be seen marching one after another in a row, carrying what looked to be large baskets of rocks of all different kinds. Others were simply either mining with special tools, engaging in what seems to be a game of gambling, or fighting with one another. It seems that the King of Kindleston had created a mass underground slavery workplace for all those who either sided with the humans or broke important laws. Of course, it didn't seem very organized nor cleanest but it was still efficient.
The guards divide up your characters in groups and begins branding each of them with different markings. "LISTEN UP F*CKTARDS!" an armored blue dragon guard shouts. "Things are simple here, each division has their own seperate branded marks. At some point each day, your division will be called to work eight hours. When called off, the rest of the day is yours to bake in this hell hole. Also, your group is rewarded food according to how hard and well each of you work, so no slacking off unless you feel like going hungry" he pauses. "Punishments... If we catch you trying to escape, become unnecessarily rowdy, or if we even feel like it..." he chuckles. "Well, let's just say it can be anywhere from all the bones in your sh*tty bodies being broken, to death." As he finishes, the guards release you all from your bindings, but they leave the clamps on your wings.

(^o^) (Explooore. Or interact)

Koldrem sat there wiping off some tears from the recent branding. ~What the hell is this place...there...there are so many dragons bigger than me moving around. I can't tell whats going on...~ The juvenile wonders around for a few moments until he's found a nice distant spot from everyone else to think. ~Ok ok, this is some kind of jail I guess...Why did they bring me here instead of just killing me? They must need me for something...theres no way they'd let me live too long after father...~

Avery glanced about, surveying his surroundings. It really didn't make sense that they chose to capture him, as he was already technically sided with the dragons, and it wasn't like he could do as much as a captured dragon labor wise. It would make a lot more sense logically just to eat him.

He decided to just chalk it up to having an epic quest and a destiny to fulfill for his survival.

Unfortunately, he wasn't going to accomplish his goal within some prison/labor camp, so the first manner of business was escaping. Pushing the repercussions of failing such a task to the back of his mind, he decided he needed to find some like minded individuals. He walked about aimlessly, examining the figures around him. At least some of them had to be thinking the same thing as him.
He wondered if this place had any mind reading dragons.

If there were, he hoped they werent guards.

"Keep your head down, stay quiet. We can get out of this."

Cinon nodded to himself, trying to keep his eyes away from the dragons with the hot irons moving closer and closer. He was just hunting a few days ago, looking for rabbits in the woods when a group of dragons appeared and told him he was breaking the law. Now he was here, under the smothering blanket of heat from the lava, and pressed into slavery.

Why? We were jus' exploring...

"Sh."

The iron burned into his scales, and he shuddered and clenched his teeth against the pain. A whimper slipped past his lips as the tool lifted away, moving on to the next.\

"They do not know of me. I am able to get us out. Just wait for the oppourtunity."

(Forgot to mention, Koldrem has kinda like a metallic mask over just his eyes since he's blind)
Kold looked amongst all the dragon sadly. ~Ok...ok ok ok. Don't freakout. Maybe I should try talking to someone. Let's see..." He spots a strange avian human thing, a young black dragon who calmly seems to be observing everything around him, and the rest of his division seems to have already spread out; Doing either unnecessary labor or chatting withthe guards about this being some kind of mistake. ~Ooh, I don't like this...~
He shuffles his talons, unsure of what to do with himself.

Three dragons in the distance seem to be watching the new group, Cinon and Avery specifically. One of them jabs what looks to be the most muscular, possibly being the leader, and mumbles something to him before they move on.

"They are watching you. Move somewhere secluded."

Somewhere what?

"Quiet and alone, so we are not obvious."

But... it's all open and scary and stuff and I don't-

"Just wander. We will figure this out."

Okey, Cedric.

Cinon started walking, trying to keeping his head down, but his insatiable curiousity drove him to look intently at all the new wonders of the world around him. Even in pain and with his wings bound tightly to his arms, he was still himself.

Avery noticed the three dragons watching him and immediately assumed the worst, that he had been right about mind reading guard dragons, and starting thinking about his left hand. Just his left hand. Only his left hand. That way they couldn't find out his secrets, because he was only thinking about his hand. And all his secrets. Wait, he wasn't supposed to be thinking about those! Awkwardly, he followed the black dragon that had just begun walking, deciding to try and figure his plan out before the mind readers got him.

"Hey there friend, This is a pretty lame deal we got going on and it really sucks and that was redundant and I apologize!" He paused, trying to focus. "Anyways, I'm Avery. And you know what? We should try to escape and you should help. That sound good? Good! Glad you're in, but only one thing, don't think about escaping because I'm pretty sure they can read minds." Avery babbled to Cinon in the span of a second, sounding absolutely insane.

~Oh no, their leaving!~ "W-Wait!" Keldrom called towards two. ~What am I doing...they'll probably curb stomp me or something~ "Please, don't leave just quite yet." He trots up behind them. "Would me tagging along be ok? I'm scared i'll get my tail kicked if I go about things alone." Then it happened. For almost a split second, there seemed to be some kind of overlapping on where the shadow dragon stood; Almost as if something were to be extremely close or hiding behind him even. ~Wait...~

(Is Avery a bluejay too?)

Cinon tilted his head at the birdman. He hadn't noticed the feathery biped in the whole time, too distracted by the world around him.

"Ignore him. We don't want to be attracting attention."

"Sorry, I have to ignore you." Cinon just about turned around when Keldrom approached, but waited as he listened to the masked drake.

"Uh..."

Cedric?

"Moving as a group won't help, just leave them."

"I... No? Maybe... I don't want to get hurt either... but... I donno." Cinon sighed.

(Yesh.)

Avery shook his head. "No, it's fine, you can tag along." He looked around to see if anyone else was listening in. "Look, we're gonna need all the help we can get to get out of here. You can't seriously be turning me down on this offer. You're telling me you want to stay here?" Avery asked Cinon. Everytime he accidentally caught the eye of any dragon he thought about his left talon intensely, paranoia unwavering. "I'm not cut out for slave work, and this is not that great of an adventure. So whether you want in or not...I'm getting out of here."

He nods. "Wouldn't it be a bad idea though? I mean, we're new so they'd already have a close watch on us." Koldrem puts the edge of his talon in his mask. ~I already hate the idea~ "M-Maybe we should take our time here to escape. Just enough so that we don't need to worry about them being super cautious around us. Then it'd be super easy to escape.~
Not too far from them on one of the bridges, a guard gives a heavy shove to one of the workers, causing for them to scramble in place against the hard stone to retain balance. Despite the effort ,however, the worker's basket of mineral pulls him off the ledge and into the liquid fire. His scream echoed within the cave, causing for many of the dragons to stop what their activities and watch the slow agonizing death for one of their partners. Once the screaming stopped, everyone resumed their chores or off time as if nothing had happened.
"Um...nevermind..." Kold stammered looking into the lava as if staring at something foreign. "W-we should find a way out of here like, now."

Cinon's heart dropped in his chest, bile nearly coming up to replace it. He was not well versed in combat, fighting, or anything of the sort, much less death.

They... they killed him.

"Remind them that the fact there are so many prisoners shows how poorly an escape attempt with them would work."

"But there are so many dragons here... escapin' isn't... how..."

What about us?

"You have me."

Koldrem covered his snout as the smell of burning flesh had begun to trudge over to them. "If you don't mind, would you mind describing what the two of you look like. Its uh...hard to see with the light from the lava and the mask" he lied. Really, he indeed was curious at what they looked like, but wasn't quite comfortable yet of telling them he was blind partially. Although they too wanted to escape, he couldn't simply fully trust them already.

"O-Oh...um ok" he stammered, slightly shrinking away from te dragonet. "A bit more detailed would be nice. Maybe not color-wise, but more so in describing way."

Avery shrugged but decided to go along with the strange request. "I'm kind of like those human fellows but with a beak and a lot of feathers. Also wings. Which aren't very helpful right now. Also people tell me I'm blue, so I guess I'm blue." He answered, nodding.

"I'm kinda little n' black. I think my horns are growin' in now a little but they're just kinda nubby right now." Cinon looked at Avery. He was pretty blue, and a pretty blue at that. His warm aura seemed muffled by the feathers, but everyone's did here. The air was just too hot, it made everyone blur in much more than the cool air of the aboveground. "I never saw anything like you, where're ya from?"

Koldrem puts the tip of his claw in his mouth, pondering. ~The weird blue one says he looks like a bird...but is a human of some sort? He seems kinda cocky...then again, that's what i've been warned about many human things and their stubborn traits. The other one...little, black, and nubby. He sounds barely older than an hatchling but, what could he have done to be brought down here...~ The teen taps his claw on the warm cavern floor multiple times in deep thought.

"We need to move. Now. Keep away from the edges of the pit."

"Okey, well I'm gonna go walk around a bit now byeee." Cinon turned, starting to trot off in search of anything interesting.
