Riley sort of snorted and shook her head. "I would never ask you to do that." She shrugged. "Besides, that's technically a loan, and they're nasty things."
Bella let out a happy trill, pushing into Blake's hand to the extent that she nearly fell over when he moved away. She huffed, and like a too-cool-for-you teenager, turned away and crawled up Riley's leg. Before she made it up very far, Riley leant over and scooped her up, letting her sit on her shoulder. The height difference for the pokémon wasn't very much though, since right after Riley crouched down to meet Blake's two pokémon.
"They're adorable," she said with a smile. She reached around to her back pocket to pull out the Zorua's pokéball, but stopped herself. "Well, yes, but I don't think he's too happy about his situation." She laughed nervously. She lifted her wrist and started to go through options on her Gear Roster, eventually pulling up Richie's page. "I wish we could have caught him in a better way, but he attacked us first, so we just had to put him to sleep," she said as she was looking for his page. She tilted her wrist so that Blake could see it.
When he was done reading, Riley looked around. It was only getting later. "It's getting darker. We should set up camp," she said. She made sure Bella wasn't going to get slung off her shoulder, then dropped her bag to the ground. She unzipped it and pulled out the ration package, three of the cans of pokémon food, her tent and her sleeping bag. "Unless, of course, you want to keep on walking through the night and then pass out somewhere in the morning."
