Zara's Park Tournament (Pokemon RP)

Riley sort of snorted and shook her head. "I would never ask you to do that." She shrugged. "Besides, that's technically a loan, and they're nasty things."

Bella let out a happy trill, pushing into Blake's hand to the extent that she nearly fell over when he moved away. She huffed, and like a too-cool-for-you teenager, turned away and crawled up Riley's leg. Before she made it up very far, Riley leant over and scooped her up, letting her sit on her shoulder. The height difference for the pokémon wasn't very much though, since right after Riley crouched down to meet Blake's two pokémon.

"They're adorable," she said with a smile. She reached around to her back pocket to pull out the Zorua's pokéball, but stopped herself. "Well, yes, but I don't think he's too happy about his situation." She laughed nervously. She lifted her wrist and started to go through options on her Gear Roster, eventually pulling up Richie's page. "I wish we could have caught him in a better way, but he attacked us first, so we just had to put him to sleep," she said as she was looking for his page. She tilted her wrist so that Blake could see it.

When he was done reading, Riley looked around. It was only getting later. "It's getting darker. We should set up camp," she said. She made sure Bella wasn't going to get slung off her shoulder, then dropped her bag to the ground. She unzipped it and pulled out the ration package, three of the cans of pokémon food, her tent and her sleeping bag. "Unless, of course, you want to keep on walking through the night and then pass out somewhere in the morning."

Blake grinned at Riley's joke, although he became serious for just a moment as he considered the Zorua. Which, by the way, was astounding. A Zorua. When Riley had initially shown him, he had struggled immensly to contain his surprise. The amount of known Zorua in the world could be counted on his hands, and there was only one Zoruark that people were aware of.

"You would want to either let the Zorua out now and explain what's going on, or wait until morning. I wouldn't be letting a dark type out at night though, if i were you. And I certainly wouldn't wait too long or his resentment will grow." He advises as he looks around the plains, following his Gear to get them back on track. "Can't believe you fihnd a Zorua." He mutters.

Looking at the sky, he twists to look at Riley and Bella. "I say we go until it gets too dark. Night means we have access to pokémon that aren't that common in the daylight, and I want to get Anna some experience either way." He states as Sam gives Riley one last sniff before he and Anna rush to join Blake a metre away.

Together with Riley, the duo set out walking as the sun goes down on their first day at the park, darkness shrouding them.

( @ChelonianCommander Night time encounter pls)

Kovu took the kick like a champ, only getting staggered back a few steps. "Now, Kovu! Use Spark!" Electricity crackled around the Shink as it charged forward, attempting to headbutt the Deerling head on. If successful, then the electricity should course through the deerling's entire body, and thanks to the Charges Kovu had done before, the damage would be twice as effective.

Looking back to Patty as she spoke to her croagunk, he gave the 'mon a smile and a thumbs up. "Don't worry. Kovu and I've got this. Brace yourself for a counter-attack buddy!" He called out as Kovu began recovering.

The Deerling was shocked quite badly with the electricity from the eletric Pokemon and stumbles backwards. It was confused for a moment as electric attacks would normally wouldn't have hurt it that badly but this felt different. The Deerling staggers for a second but shakes off the electric attack and quickly turned around, kicking sand and dirt into the air and into the Shink's eyes.

The dark holds many dangers, and in Zara's Park is no exception. As the sun sets, more Pokemon not commonly seen come out of the shadows and some were more dangerous then their morning counterparts. As the two trainers walked, a yellow swarm was on the horizon, being attacked by a man in red with an Ursaring and a Starly. The swarm is an aggressive group of dozens of Combees attacking the man in red and his Pokemon. The Ursaring protects its trainer from the combee's attacks while the Starly uses aerial ace to thin out the swarm. As the trainer's approach a Combee notices the trainer and quickly flies in to attack the newcomers, immediately using gust as it flies forward.

As Dylan watched the Combee approach he felt conflicted. On one hand, this would be great training for Anna. On the other hand, Combee were known to use flying moves and the man with the Ursaring could use help. Eventually though, he settled with training Anna. Someone with an Ursaring couldn't be beaten by Combee, no matter how many there are.

Recalling Sam, he looks at Anna as the Combee approaches. "Right, this'll be your first time so just follow what I say alright?" He tells her, to which she responds with a determined nod and goes out to meet the Combee. That was when he realised he couldn't see much in the dark, and as he scrambled for a decent torch to shine he heard a cry of pain from Anna.

Once he found the torch he was after, he was greeted with the sight of a cowering Anna as the Combee floated above her. "Alright anna, don't be afraid! You can do this! Grass whistle!" He calls out. For a moment Anna hesistates, scared of the Combee, before taking confidence in her trainer as a smooth, melodic sound began to emanate from her.

The Pokemon avoided the grass whistle by preventing the Pokemon from finishing her song by using a Gust to blow away the light Pokemon. Anna tumbles backwards as the powerful winds launched her backwards and past the trainers.

Dylan clicks his tongue in annoyance at the Combee as Anna struggles to get up, the type effectiveness of the gust starting to get to her as she shakes a little, her trademark happy grin slightly dimished. Trying to recall her abilities, he switches to a new tactic.

"Alright Anna, use Razor Leaf to keep it away for as long as you can! The next time you see it use Gust, Rapid Spin as hard and as fast as you can!" He calls out to the Bounsweet, who swiftly reacts and fights through the pain, sendinf razor sharp leaves towards the Combee with a determined focus. Now, if Dylan was right here, the rapid spin should aid her in disrupting the power of the Gust closest to her.

The Combee was struck by a flurry of sharp leaves before it manages to get out of barrage of leaves. It flies towards the Bounsweet for another attack. The bottom head opens its mouth and a pair of glowing fangs erupt from the head's mouth and tackles onto the Bounsweet and began to bite and gnaw at the Pokemon.

As the two found, the swarm of angry Combee noticed their friend fighting two trainers and a trio of Combee breaks from the main group and dives straight towards the trainers. The man in red sees the Combee break off and head towards Dylan and Riley. The man couldn't step from behind his Ursaring without being attack so he shouts out to them. "Hey trainers! Watch out!" He cries out.

Riley had been watching the fight for a few seconds, fine with letting Dylan take the fight for the moment. She could hear the faint buzzing getting closer and whipped her head around, fixing her eyes on the approaching three. She pulled Bella's pokéball from her pocket, sending the bell pokémon out. "Bella, quick! Use Yawn, then hide!" She shouted while she took a few quick steps back. The pokémon yawned loudly, hopefully loud enough for all the Combee to hear, and the dived into the long grass.

Dylan quickly analysed the situation as he let Sam loose into the field, pointing at the crowd of Combee. “Use howl, and Ice fang any that get too close! Otherwise, stay out of their gust range! Anna, use rapid spin and follow it up with a razor lead! Keep close and try to use rapid spin to slam it into the floor!” He commands his Pokémon, feeling the familiar tide of emotions from his training days wash over him again.

Shaking his head, he watched Sam let loose a long, drawn out howl in the direction of the Combee just after Bella disappeared, his fangs beginning to lengthen and glow an icy blue. Over at Anna, the small Pokémon begins to spin fast enough to cast a groove into the dirt, sending the Combee rocketing off. As the Combee is sentence back into the air, a volley of razor leaves join it as Anna bounces to get above the Pokémon, spinning once again the moment she found the Combee was just below her.

Three newly arriving Combee flies toward the two trainers in order to support their comrade. The female trainer's brings out her pokemon which yawns at the three combee. Two of the new Combee manages to avoid getting hit by the yawn, but one wasn't as lucky as it began to feel drowsy. The two Combee still continued on as their comrade began to slow down and descend due to the yawn. Seeing the Bell Pokemon jumping into the wind the two Combee coordinate their attacks and began to use gust in the long grass, trying to flush out the Pokemon.

The first Combee, the one that attacked Anna was thrown off and was struck multiple times by the Razorleaf. The Combee seems to be in trouble as it was a bit dizzy after the razor leaf and wasn't ready for when Anna bounced up just above the Combee. The pokemon was startled and one more hit would bring it down. Anna began to attack, but the Combee's eyes flashed purple for a second and the pokemon became filled with an uncontrollable rage. A shadowy aura surrounds the pokemon and the Combee charged at Anna, striking the pokemon with what could be considered a powered up Takedown. The Combee falls to the ground unconscious right after making contact.

Kovu is startled by the Sand-attack, scratching at his eyes, trying to remove bits that obscured his vision. "Hang in there, buddy. Use bite!" Jared called out. Kovu leapt forward, eyes still teary from the sand, and attempted to bite at the Deerling's foreleg. "Hold it still so I can try to catch it!"

The Deerling couldn't react fast enough as the Shinx takes a bite of the pokemon's leg. It winces in pain and tries to shake off the Shinx, and prepares to strike back, but it hears the ground begin to shake and a loud roar is heard that frightens it, followed by a series of rapid heavy footsteps. In a single motion, it quickly spins and throws the Shinx off it, not as an attack, but to get the Shinx away from it. The reason why was soon made apparent as an enraged Pangoro rushes out from the grass, with its powerful fists swinging in a flurry of attacks. One of which hits the Deerling before it could get out of the way. The Pangoro seems to have slight purple ting to its fur. When it sees the two trainers it becomes even more enraged and roars before attacking the trainers with a slow but powerful punch.

Jared was about to throw his pokeball at the trapped Deerling when all of a sudden, the ground shook underneath him, a loud roar echoed in the distance. A Pangoro, larger than Jared, came rushing out of the grass. The Deerling was thrown off, and the Pangoro moved to attack him and Patty. "Patty, get down!" He called before tackling her to the ground, turning so that he hit the ground and she had him as a cushion.

"It's a Pangoro, and he's really mad. We're gonna need to team up to take this on. Kovu, protect the Deerling and start charging." He called out to his pokemon. Kovu leapt between the giant 'mon and the hurt Deer, charging up the electricity and looking to the Croagunk for assistance.

“Anna!” Dylan cries as his little bounsweet is sent flying by the takedown. Sprinting over, he scoops Anna up into his arms. She gives him a small, proud smile, one he returns before he places her in her pokéball. He would heal her up when he had the chance.

Looking back, he grows for a second at the unconscious form of the Combee. That purple glow... as far as he knew, Combee couldn’t learn Curse or anything like it. Concerning.

But also for another time. Jogging back over, he watches as the Combee try and uncover Bella from the brush. Sharing a glance with Dam, he mimes sneaking and then biting. It seems Sam got the message, as he crouches low to he ground with his fangs elongating, frost being formed on the grass directly below as he stalked up behind the Combee, ready to pounce.

Patty had stayed by the sidelines as Jared and his pokemon battled the deerling. Listening was enough for her to keep up with the events around her. She could have moved out of the way by herself at Jared's warning. She really didn't need someone to tackle her out of the way. Especially not with her own croagunk attempting to do the same by pouncing onto her.

"Ooof!"

At least she got cushioned. "Uh..thanks?" the girl mutters as she picks herself up. Then, to her croagunk, "Don't worry about me. Go assist Kovu. Poison sting!" The croagunk immediately springs into action, and as the Pangoro rushes at the Shinx, attempts to deal a poison sting to the larger pokemon's legs.

Kovu was too busy charging to move out of the way. He took the punch square on the top of his noggin, knocking him flat. He stood, a bit dazed but managed to shake off the hit. As Jared got back up he called out. "Use spark with Croagunk's Poison Sting." Once again Kovu charged forward with an electrically charged headbutt that would do double damage thanks to charge.

The Combee wasn't prepared for when the Poocheyena jumps up and bites it down with icy fangs. It couldn't fight back as the pokemon is frozen in an icy shell. The last Combee, seeing his allies incapacitated decides that this wasn't worth it and attempts to escape.

In the main swarm, more then half of the Combees had already fainted due to the attacks of the red trainer's Starly. The Pokemon decide to flee as the entire swarm dispersed into the surrounding area. The Starly takes out about two more before the swarm finally is gone. The Red trainer narrows his eyes as he watched the Combee swarms off. Afterwards he looks down at the fainted pokemon and shakes his head at the waste. He contacts his superiors with his gear roster. "This is Captain Wallace Grizzle in Nomad's Plains. The situation with the Combee have been taken care of. The Pokemon has dispersed into the surrounding area. There are two trainers that were involved. I'm gonna go check on them. I also request a capture and containment team....alright. Acknowledged, Grizzle out." He turns off this Gear Roster and recalls his Pokemon before making his way to the trainers.

"Hey! You two alright? Your pokemon ok?" He asks.
