Elementals

Elementals are creatures made of natural elements birthed from the minds and spirits of humans. They are made of one of 16 elements and resemble a real life animal. Between the ages of 5-7 a child will have a dream where they will walk in a desolate path for what seems like hours until they find a lair made of the element their Elemental shall be and upon entering they will crawl through a tunnel until they come across their elemental at the end of the tunnel waiting for them. Upon touching the animal, they wake up with their hand touching their lifelong companion.

Elementals live to be with their human, and are literally incapable of being more than 100ft away from them, otherwise they’ll wither and die, and dislike being more than 20ft from their human. They are sentient beings that are sexless and genderless, though it is common to call an Elemental a he or she depending on the owner’s own gender. Due to their mystical nature, have abilities that humans are incapable of, such as the ability to breath fire, sling crystal spikes or root themselves into the earth. However they’ll only do this on the order of the owner. Elementals are also incapable of harming their human; even if one owns something like a Metal Porcupine the spines will never harm the human, and will not affect their surroundings unless ordered to by the human.

Elementals are incapable of dying by normal means. They can get hurt by physical objects like if a beam falls on them or by are shot, but will generally heal after a week or two depending on the wound, but no longer than a month, but Elementals WILL die if taken more than 100ft from the human or if the human dies. The human can still live on if the Elemental dies, but will immediately sense if their Elemental has died and will generally feel hollow for the rest of their life.
 
Genetics

How a child gets their element is a genetic trait. It acts the same as with normal genetics with each of the 16 elements being made up of two different elements, with the first element being the primary and the second element being the secondary. Example: Metal is Earth/Fire and Snow is Air/ Water. This also applies to the ‘pure’ elements Fire (Fire/Fire), Earth (Earth/Earth), Water (Water/Water) and Air (Air/Air)

If the dad has a Metal Element and the Mom is a Snow Element then the child has a 25% chance to be, Sand (Earth/Air), Plant (Earth/Water), Smoke (Air/Earth) or Steam (Fire/Water). It's unlikely that siblings from the same parents will have the same elements, even twins, unless the parents are of the same pure element.

Abilities

Elementals are magical creatures with abilities that benefit their human companion and harms enemies. These abilities range from the mundane, such as lifting small object or heating up pots and pans, to the extrodinary such as creating walls of rock or creating rings of fire. However devastating or harmful these abilities may be, the Elemental will never harm directly its creator. A human will never drown in water created by its Elemental, and a human will never burn even if touching magma created by their Elemental. Still one must not thing they are immune to such deaths. A human with a water Elemental can still drown and a Human with a Fire elemental can still burn.

NOTE: Anything created from an elemental will usually disappear, wither or crumble after a short time, 10 minutes usually.

Abilities


Healing: A passive trait. In injured in some way, an Elemental can heal from said wound after several days or weeks, but no longer then a month.

Sling
: The Elemental spits, throws or slings forth its own Element at a designated target. The blast will be stronger if the Human is stronger. It will be considered possibly deadly around the ages of 15-24 and considered deadly at the age of 25.

Manifest
: Elementals can bind themselves to their humans and allow the human access to new abilities or attacks for a limited time. It can only be used safely once a day, as any more could harm the Elemental and Human as well as potentially kill them both, and Manifest's effect last for about 6 seconds for every year a human lives. (So a ten year old can hold Manifest for 60 seconds.) Manifest's effect is determined by the primary element of the element.

The Elemental binds itself to its human turns itself into armor that surrounds and protects the human. It cannot be used at the same time as Manifest Weapon.

Earth: Armor-Your Elemental binds with you and turns into a strong suit of armor made of that element.

Water: Invisibility- Your Elemental coats your body and turns a sheet that can camouflage against any background or reflect light.

Air: Flight- Your Elemental well surround you and allow you to fly for a limited time.

Fire: Cloak-Your Elemental turns into a swirling ring around a foot in radius around you that burns anyone it touches.
The Elemental binds itself to their human and forms weapons for the human to fight with. It cannot be used with Manifest Armor.

Earth: Gauntlets-The Elemental manifests as a coat of earth that surrounds the hands of the Human, giving them enhanced punching, gripping and lifting strength

Water: Whip- The Elemental manifests as a whip attached to the human's hand that snags, slashes and lashes just as dangerously as a real whip

Air: Blade- The Elemental manifests as a swirling ball of razor sharp winds around the human's hands that cuts, slices and pierces like a razor sharp blade

Fire: Arrows- The Elemental manifests itself as fiery aura that surround the human's hands. When the human swings or punches the aura is released as a bolt of searing elements.
The Elemental binds itself to their human and shares with them is powers, turning them into an Elemental Human hybrid. However this form last only half the time as Manifest Armor and Manifest Weapon. It can't be used with Manifest Armor or Manifest Weapon.

Elemental Physique: Manifest body gives the human the abilities and features of the Elemental. (Fire Bird Elementals will give you functioning wings made of fire and talons, a Metal Tiger Elemental will give you fangs and claws of Metal and an Ice Porcupine Elemental will give you icicle spikes.)

Elemental Generation: The Human now has the power to generate and throw out their element. (A Fire Bird Elemental will be able to General Fire, a Metal Tiger Elemental will be able to generate metal etc.)

Enhanced Ability: The human has 2x more strength, endurance and speed with an increased reaction time.
