Akashic Arcana Outside the Dorms - An Interesting Invention

Draco Shadowdragon

Unknown Entity
Einar was walking home from the library. He was a little drowsy from the accidental nap. He hadn't meant to fall asleep. Luckily the librarian found him before he drooled on the book he had been reading. Speaking of which he still had a red mark on his face and indentations on his cheek from the book.

As he neared the dorm he noticed a person tinkering with some invention he had never seen before. This intrigued him. He approached the guy. "Hello, whatcha got there?" The question came out dripping with curiosity. He always enjoyed learning a few things. The more knowledge the better was one of his mottos. But seriously what was this thing and what did it do?

Thomas was sitting down on the soft gravel working on a new invention, one that would decrease the amount of mana someone would use up when fighting willy-nilly, while also increasing their destructive capabilities by a multiplier of 5!..... It still has some Bugs to work out, the glove shape did help but he wanted it to be a suit... The suit caught on fire. hearing a voice calling out to him did make him rather nervous.

"Ah. No Mr' Decenaplenary member, I'm not working on something that could cause a fire.....again. I'm just sitting a spell in the streets nothing to.... Hmmm?" On closer inspection, it did not appear to be a member of the campus security but than again looks can be deceiving... But also then again this guy asked him about his invention. An opportunity perhaps? "My invention! Yesss. Yesss. It's quite the oddity. An enhancement in shape of a glove that decreases mana use while increasing destructive capabilities by a multiplier of 5!" He sounded proud of his little invention, while also sounding like he was pitching a sale of sorts. Perhaps he was. After all his mother used this tactic and it worked for her.

"You see I managed to use my ability to infuse objects with my mana to create these little metal power cells!" He popped out, it was the size of a regular battery. Showing to the man in front of him a little capsule that produced a blue bioluminescent glow. "Acting as an extra power source to... Well, your mana supplies. 60% Guaranteed that it won't blow up.... Forget I said that... That too.... You sure your not with the Decenaplenary squad?" As eccentric as always.

The man in front of him looked to be flustered about his appearance. "I'm no Disciplinary person," he said cringing as the man's suit caught on fire. The man started to explain the ability of his invention all the while not seeming to notice that it was burning to the ground. "Umm, sir, your invention sounds awesome and all but you do know it's on fire, right?" He hoped that the man would notice soon, before he had to start over again. "I'd hate for you to have to start over again." By now the flames were spewing dark smoke up into the air.

"Oh. Pweh. For a second I thought I would be chewed out again for- 'Sniff' What smells like burning plastics and metal alloy?" Following his nose, it didn't take him long to figure out what the burning smell was. "Dratdratdratdratdrat drat time 12 to the fourth power!" Not missing a beat Thomas pulled out his patented flame remover. It looked like an air horn but the body was translucent and the top had a strange glowing button. Activating this device, a magical rune formed at the center of the horn and started to literally suck up all the fire and smoke.

"By the way my names Thomas. Thomas Silvers." He said nonchalantly despite his suit seeming to be badly damaged, the insides looking very complex and time-consuming. "Well. Number 12 was a failure. Number 13 is sure to work! What is it they say? 13th times a charm?"

Einar watched as the man pulled out a weird device and activated it. The device proceeded to suck up all the smoke and fire, much like how a vacuum would. "That's an interesting device you have there," he said indicating the vacuum like device.

"I'm Einar Igorsson. Nice to meet you." He winced a little bit when he heard how many times Thomas had to start over. He kinda felt bad for the guy. "Yeah that's what they say. Hopefully it works out next time," he said.

"Don't threat it," He said with a confident smile, pick up the suit inspecting it for any parts her can salvage. "If someone gave up after a few flops than it would be a true failure after all isn't it a virtue to learn from your mistakes?" Putting the flame remover back into a blue and red knapsack, his mechanical goggles enhancing and retracting back as he did. "Its surprising how many times a flame remover comes in hand. Especially when you're me."

Einar raised an eyebrow. Thomas was definitely an interesting character. "I bet it does," he said talking about the flame remover. "I've only heard of the patience virtue sooooo I don't really know if that is a virtue or not."

"Is it a bad thing to be an inventor or something," he asked thinking back to how Thomas acted when he saw him, "you acted like you were scared of being found out by a Disciplinary member." He was a little curious about this. Also he wondered how much trouble he got in.

"No. I just have the lack of luck of being misunderstood by them." Putting his little invention into his knapsack he begins to rise from his seating area and continue towards the outer-limits of the academy to get more materials. "I mean yes I did start several fires. and did cause some explosions. That one time I caused a magical rip because I overcharged a mana crystal.... I screw up a lot." He finally said not really showing any melancholy in his tone or infections. "Trying to build my gear, I admit is pretty ambitious and dangerous. But hey for as many failures I have there have been great things to come out of it. Like that time I perfected my clothing breaker. Able to destroy enemy armor and leave them defenseless.... I did make the mistake however on misfiring and hitting, Ruby.... She broke my nose... And my left leg.... and my arms." He could go on. That moment was the greatest and most painful of his life.
