Chronicles of The Omniverse Archived Avenpeak Mountains

When the group awoke a heavy groggy sensation clung to them, leaving their thoughts and movements sluggish as they began to regain their senses. They would find that the entirety of the area had been overtaken by a thick mist that gave the surrounding forest a strangely surreal and somewhat eerie look to it. Just how much time had passed?

The chill of the snow and frozen ground had worked its way deep into their bones, and Jason let out a heavy shiver as he sat up trying to rub some feeling back into his arms.

"What the-"

His words trailed off as he tried to make sense of what had happened. He remembered falling to his knees, struggling to remain awake against... something. What had transpired?

"Is everyone alright?" he asked as he turned his attention to the more immediate concern of the safety of his group.

Blearily, Cinaed opened his eyes, Jason's voice echoing as muffled, unclear noises in his ears through the haze of slumber. The cold ached in his bones, damp snow clinging to his hair and clothes. He was used to the chill by now, but this was worse. He wondered how long he'd been lying there. He couldn't remember exactly how it had happened. One moment he'd been walking, weary but alert, the next... he and the others had started to collapse. It seemed distant, but it couldn't have been too long, could it?

His thoughts trailed off, and he curled up, his body almost subconsciously drawing tight against the cold. The ache was a numb ache, at this point. That was... bad, wasn't it? Grimacing, he gathered enough mental strength to fight more determinedly against the lingering grogginess, planting one hand on the ground to push himself halfway to upright. "W-wh... what happened?" he managed to mumble out weakly between shivering.

"Nani!" The Taiyou man called out as he jolted awake. It seemed like someone had hit him with some kind of tranquilizer, the air was cold, and his body was almost chilled to the bones as he pulled the various animal skins that comprised his makeshift coat close to his body.

Slowly he climbed to a sitting position, clutching his furs, he tried to muster the strength to get to his feet. He was fighting against the grogginess that still clung to him like a thick glue, was it the lingering effect of some tranquilizer?

"Were we attacked?" He asked.

Ejon slowly opened his eyes they felt heavy and the very effort was difficult. At first, he tried to move but couldn't. Was he back in his bead at Windcrest? No, it was far too cold, had he collapsed on patrol in the mountains was this how he was going to go out a frozen corpse? His eyes darted around as his vision returned. Then it all started to come back to him it was so crazy almost a dream but deep down he knew it wasn't.

"Move" He thought to himself. Focusing his energy he managed to move his head. He heard the others talking but it was too difficult to respond.
