Things had been changing, since the demise of Bill Cipher. To those who knew of the demon, it was almost certain that this was for the better. That, certainly, whatever could come Gravity Falls's way could never be so horrible as the monstrosity that had wreaked havoc upon the small town could never compare to the beast with just one eye.
Arguably, they were wrong. In the eyes of one, mystical temptress, in any case.
Cipher was... A piece of work, she had to admit. He was certainly an entertaining creature, by every mean. Her own world's version of the one-eyed being was pathetic and weak, but Cipher showed usefulness. Truly unpredictable and insane by every definition most could think of, willing to do whatever it took to get what he desired. And admittedly, that was something that Mabel appreciated; admired, even. To her, it was nothing short of thrilling, not knowing the powers at play. Only knowing they were dangerous; oh, yes, that made it
all the more
thrilling. And this particular woman lived for nothing if not thrill, which, the one-eyed beast created. What Cipher did not know when they entered their deal, however, was the other thing that the damsel lived for.
Breaking beasts like him.
You see, it was not something that she made any active attempt to hide, but Mabel Gleeful was not a woman appreciative of being manipulated. Sure, she adored seeing
others being used, but she much preferred to be the woman in charge. After all, the sense of satisfaction that came with watching the wills of her victims crumble was...
satisfying. And while the company of others who felt the same absolutely elated her, she could only enjoy her playmates for so long before she got bored and had to spice things up, in her own way. But there was a difference, few knew, between her 'playmates' and those that tried to rule her. One ended with certain death, the other? A little more fun.
In any case, she felt no need to linger on her past conquests, as fun as it had been to deal with her parallel universe's devil. No, right now? She was far more interested in something else. A disturbance, of sorts, in the falls; not that it was exactly her right to care. She had vacated the town long ago, running off with her most recent fixation; a cute little less-literal devil known as Roman Torchwick that had proven himself to be a
great deal of fun to play with. No, these dinky little falls were of little concern to her, but she certainly enjoyed the occasional return, with or without her boy toy, brother, crybaby triangle and colorful mute dragged along. If only to remind the town just who owned it.
Apparently, more than just those in the falls knew of such.
Nothing went unnoticed by her, here. So when an unknown figure entered the place, and through a
portal nonetheless? Well, suffice to say the mistress of the town was quick to find out. And even quicker to arrive on the scene, a warm, pleasant giggle erupting from behind Toffee as the lizard noted not only a sudden shift in the tracker, but a feeling of something cold pressing lightly against his back.
"Well, well, well...." the owner of the laughter, which had finally faded to a complete halt, cooed in a silky voice. Casually, the figure sashayed her way around to Toffee's front with one hand placed on her hip, humming thoughtfully as she did.
"I can't say I was expecting visitors," she spoke with a hint of something like woe, flipping her long brown hair absently with a smirk that contradicted the wistful sigh passing her lips.
"I must apologize. Had I known I would be graced with company, I most certainly would have cleaned up..."
