Prisoners of Hogwarts (A Harry Potter inspired rp)

Name:

Gavin Bentley

Age:
16

New Life Biography:
Gavin was born into poverty in London, a muggle child that barely even knew his mother or father, as they were unable to take care of him in their present state of being. Eventually he ended up in an orphanage, where a couple adopted him and raised him

Though young Gavin wasn't any wiser at the time, it turns out his parents were in fact, wizards, and though he was a muggle, they raised him as if he were their own child, and when the time came, he was sent to Hogwarts... To learn the arts of magic, and eventually become a wizard. As time passed, although he isn't exactly the most confident or social of students, he has proved to be quite competent and knowledgeable in magic. He also came to see his parents, particularly his father, as role models, people he strived to be like when he grew up.

Perhaps one day... He too could go on the sorts of ventures his father told countless stories about...

Description of the character:
Yaser is a young, Turkish child with typically cold features. He appears to be pale in spite of his darker skin tone, and his face is framed by very sharp and distinct features. His nose comes down into a sharp slant, his temples are deeply indented as well as his eyes- he is almost skeletal in his face, despite carrying an average build everywhere else. His hair is curling and- like his eyes- is dark. His skin is tight and shows signs of thin stubble growing along his top lip and chin,

Name:
Yaser Branblesnap

Age:
17

New Life Biography:
Yaser was born to a muggle mother and wizard father along the Turkish Border. His father was a swindler and con artist, a pusher of fraudulent magical goods and cheaply made potions. He profited from his sick and injured countrymen, exploiting the muggles in their time of greatest need all in the name of a quick and easy profit. Self-Healing bandages, mind-numbing painkiller potions, rings that could help regrow fingers-- you name it, Mr.Branblesnap could give it to you...at a price.
Maybe it was Karma what happened to him in the end. Maybe the universe was paying him back for all the misery he had caused when one of his cursed crutches finally blew up in his face. Distraut, his grieving widow left her only child on the doorstep of the Antioch Orphanage, before eventually succumbing to the sicknesses her husband had sought to profit from.

Being raised in the world's largest orphanage made life hard for Yaser. He was simply 1 in 900 young faces attending the shelter, with fresh refugees entering the hospice every day. It didn't take long for the child to fade off into the background, seemingly being forgotten by the matrons who had sworn to keep him safe.
Eventually, Yaser was 'Rescued' from his life at the Antioch by one of his father's old partners, who had parted ways with his old man days before the Crutch incident. He adopted the child and claimed him as a spoil of war- one last chance to get back at his father after a deal gone sour. By the time he was 10 he had been handed an old wand and forced to attempt to curse pocket watches for his guardian, the threat of violence deterring him from failure. His Guardian had convinced himself that the boy shared his father's natural aptitude for enchantments, and believed that- given enough 'motivation'- his abilities would come forth without training and he would have himself a powerful subordinate. The mental and physical stress he endured simply forced his abilities deeper and deeper inside of him, pushing him closer and closer to becoming and Obscurial.

Before he could fully sever himself from his magic, however, his Guardian's operation was burst by his country's ministry, and he was once again taken into Child Protective Services. Seeking to keep him as far away from his father's old operations as possible, the Ministry opted to send the boy overseas to Hogwarts- a place where his abilities could be nurtured, not milked from him.

Just wanting an ordinary life, Yaser begged the Sorting Hat to place him into Hufflepuff, the house in which he could survive his high school years as far away from the dangerous antics of the Slytherin and Griffindors, or the intellectual pressures of the Ravenclaws. His wishes were granted, and he was- for the first time in his life- recognized and acknowledged by his peers.

Description of the character:
Rolien is 150 cm tall and has an average build for a girl of her age. She has very light brown/borderline blond hair and green eyes. She wears blue jeans and a blue shirt. She keeps her hair to shoulder-height.

New Name: Rolien Langenberg

New Age: 11

New Life Biography:
Rolien was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in a middle-class family. Her father served in the military but never returned home. As time passed on, she started to get less and less curious about her father's fate. This came to the point that she no longer cared and forgot him. She has no brothers or sisters.
She went most of her childhood to a public school in Amsterdam. She lived with her mother until the age of nine when her mother was a victim of a car crash. She presumably died of her injuries in the hospital days later. From then, she lived in an orphanage. However, here she was given an opportunity that she couldn't refuse.

When it comes to magic, Rolien is relatively new and lacks the experience and training to use it. It was unknown from which of her parents was a wizard. However, she does seem to have the capability of learning quite fast.

At school, she did get lessons in English, but she hasn't learned enough to speak the language properly.

Personality wise: Rolien is a well-mannered girl for her age. Having learned by her mother to be polite to those older than her. However, she does have an urge sometimes to speak her mind, even if could potentially be rude. While she doesn't care about her father, she does miss her mother a lot. She feels rather uncomfortable in certain situations outside her comfort zone, yet she is still curious about new things.
