Vitam et Mortem IC - Altsoba School of Sorcery

Kenlei

The blonde smiled apologetically, a dimple winking in her cheek. "Sorry. Um...I mean, I guess that would be fun, but I'd rather not start a war. I want to come out being the popular girl everybody loves, not hates, ya know? Maybe after all this blows over and they find someone else to whisper about we can exact our revenge, but they will know it's me or us, and I don't want you two in the line of fire either."

Jera breathed carefully through her nose as she waited, eyes flitting around to take in the tired expressions of the other students as Sophie pulled their schedule from her pack. She couldn't help but ponder skipping the next class, it depended on what it was though. She started to bob her head in acknowledgement when the classes were listed, but aborted the movement quickly and hummed instead.

"I could stick around for Beginning gifts, but I shall have to see if I'll hold up to History lectures." She tossed Sophie a wry smile, eyes twinkling. "I have a feeling I'd just fall asleep though so more than likely I will not be present for that class."

Eyes flitted to the ceiling when the white pages started floating down, both of Jera's brows lifting in surprise. Catching one before it landed in her plate, she squinted at it.

"All the Altsoba Rumors?" She mumbled before setting the page down and holding her head with a groan. The title was easy enough to make out, but the smaller words made her head hurt.

"Sophie? If you could?" She asked. "What's it say?"

Anna

Anna listened to Natalia's story, nodding between bites of her sandwich. She hadn't even noticed Eva when she'd walked in. "That might have something to do with it," she said with a shake of her head. "She really likes him. I don't really know what she sees in him, I think he's just creepy." She glanced up at Natalia, suddenly realising that she was mouthing off someone that used to be her friend, and one of her only ones, from the way she was describing him. "Ugh, sorry. He's just...not that friendly."

The contact was comforting. It somehow told her that Natalia was super serious about making up with Eva. It only made her more sure that whatever had happened, it had just been a misunderstanding. She squeezed the Russian's hand. "Yeah, I'll talk with her. I think I'm in a class with her sometime soon-"

She was interrupted by the sudden appearance of things falling from the sky. She pulled her hand away from Natalia's and lifted her hands over her head to protect herself, but she very quickly realised that the falling things were floppy pieces of paper. The worst she was going to get was a paper cut.

She swiped up one of the sheets from the table. 'All the Altsoba Rumours'? The title itself made her whip her head around to look at her old friends, but they all looked either confused or excited. None of them looked like they'd been expecting the paper in front of them now. She turned her attention back to the paper.

A twelfth grader she didn't know, some ninth graders, and then something really important. Upon reading the description of the 'mystery girl', she glanced up at Natalia to see that it was a perfect match. She laid the paper back down on the table, looked up to meet Natalia's eyes. "No, I think it'll still be fine!" she tried to reassure. "Y'see, Eva won't think that it's you that wrote that. Not without proof, anyway!"

Natalia

This was even better than she could have hoped for. Someone had noticed her dancing with Nito and apparently there was some kind of rift between the two this morning. Realizing that they were rumors, she took the information with a grain of salt, but if it were true! The Russian could hardly contain her excitement that some outer force was working on splitting up the couple.

Burying her face in her hands, she looked absolutely miserable."She won't think I wrote it, but everyone is going to think I'm trying to steal her boyfriend and she already thinks that." Natalia sniffled into her arms. "She's not going to want to forgive me now.

Sophie

Swiping up a paper from the table, the young 9th grader skimmed through the notes. The only thing that was of any interest to her was the little story about Blake, Charlie, and Kenlei, but that was only because they were in her class and not because she knew them all that well.

Still, she read out the three rumors to Jera. "Someone has too much free time on their hands," she concluded with a roll of her eyes. Still, she tucked the paper into her bag, wondering if there would be another edition coming out and if so, when?

Blake

The rest of the class period was uneventful. Blake was half asleep for most of the morning and didn't fully wake up until it was lunch time and he was seated, once again, with Charlie and Kenlei. He was in the middle of telling them about the time his older cousin had accidentally cursed him with a tickling curse and they couldn't get it fixed for several hours. "... my sides were hurting so much by the end of it, we had to go to the hospital regardless because of the muscle spasms." He started to say something else when he caught sight of paper falling from the ceiling. Was the school trying out a new message system? He plucked one up, curious. At first he was amused at the gossip... until he kept reading, catching sight of his name... and Kenlei's... and Charlie's...

"Well, shit."

"I should say so." Jera agreed, lips set in mild annoyance as she took a deep sip from her water glass. "I do wonder though if Eva and Nito are doing so poorly, and I doubt that a student, what was her name? I doubt she's having a relationship with a teacher, the school wouldn't allow it." The young sorceress paused for a second, staring down at her plate as her head continued to throb. Her eyes gleamed with a thought.

"All these rumors are so terrible, but I find myself wondering what myths they'll cook up next." She smiled slightly, head finally starting to clear. Perhaps the next class wouldn't be so bad, she could finally turn her head without the room spinning wildly, but her headache still pounded a beat of it's own.

"How long until our next class? I was thinking about swinging by the nurse and asking for some relief to this pain."
