I'll be honest
I once had to sit down and watch three movies and four crappy music videos to come up with a pick up line which would be subtle, funny and effective all at the same time
Then I had my character ruin all of it by making him describe the pick up line as "quick and effective, like a spray of Raid on a baby cockroach"
