Abilities [Continuation - Break Down]

Reanimation: Kortho has the ability to bring a once breathing being back to life; the ritual is not as needed as it once was. His reanimations can last anywhere from a year to about 5 before their souls begin to get reclaimed back to the underworld. It is apparent when a body has been reanimated, since rigor mortis isn't a forgiving process, it is heavily slowed down and semi-reversed on fresher bodies, but will definitely kick into full gear nearing the end of the 5 allowed years.

Soul Manipulation: Very similar to the way reanimation works, Kortho has the ability to lock a soul into a container, being a crystal or a vial. Said souls can be forced into a host, such as a fresh corpse. Unlike reanimation, however, Soul manipulation requires a long ritual since souls, much like organs, can be rejected by the host. Which can result in pollution of the soul condemning it to spend eternity in limbo or corruption of the host creating a thrall like creature, much more like a flesh golem or zombie of sorts. This previously mentioned creature is soulless in nature and can only be destroyed by the creator of it.

Sanguine Manipulation: The art of manipulating someone's life is an art far hidden in the entrails of ancient necromancy books. In order to achieve the ability to drain the life out of a living being, an experienced necromancer needed to endure a long, old and forgotten ritual; Which Kortho spent years learning about, sneaking behind his father's back to steal the forbidden books he kept locked in his studio. The ritual was a simple set up, an empty room that contained three things, a ring of black salt, a table and a chair, the hardest part of the ritual relied on the sheer fact that it opened the possibility of something other than a soul connecting into the portal created by the necromancer. If that were the case, every book advised with bold red font, Disengage and create a cross of salt on the table. Yet, what would be the worst that could happen? No book provided an answer, and that had left a vague and stale sense of suspense that intrigued him and reeled him deeper into the forbidden parts of the arts of necromancy.
When the time came, the moon was at its darkest phase and the forest that surrounded the shack was quiet and eerily still. The small shack was decrepit, the windows were stained with the permanent breath of time. The tall and towering mansion just crossing the forest, provided a small and soft source of light that colored the side of the concrete walls that loosely held the shack in place.

Perhaps it was him and the years he spent learning and preparing for the right moment to come. Perhaps it was a pure stroke of luck, or maybe it was pure and simple faith; Regardless, he had managed to open a ring which connected him to the demon, Grisephed. At first, fear devoured the unprepared Necromancer, nothing makes someone revalue their own mortality quite like standing before a large demon with hooves the size of a grown man's head.
Kortho felt a cold rush of adrenaline creep up his spine, his hands shook against the dark wood of the table that separated him and the creature across him. His knees felt as if they were made of stone, weighing him down to the chair he was sitting on. With his lips quivering, he mumbled out, loud enough for the demon to hear and understand, the latin prayer-like greeting he had learned from the books.

Grisephed's horizontal pupils hid behind a red-tint that covered its eyes as it looked over his trembling body. The demon's breath fogged the cold air in front of its' face, and as the monster spoke, the putrid smell of death slapped the necromancer's face; Its voice was what can only be described as slowed down speech, the distortion of its words sounded much like nails on a blackboard.

It introduced itself as Lord Grisephed, inhabitant of the section of the netherworld where the souls of the ones damned by greed were to spend the rest of eternity in. It had gotten closer, further from the circle of salt scattered on the stone floor, what could be considered a smirk spread across its mouth, and continued to speak, this time proposing a contract of sorts. It proposed a rather simple trade, for a portion of the necromancer's soul, he would gain the ability to control somebody's life or terminate it as seen fit. It was not an instantaneous ability, and required a ritual prior to the ability's usage. But after the ritual was completed, the ability could be used twice following completion. The demon explained that along with the ability and the rituals required for it, he would gift Kortho with sight in the eye he had damaged years prior, but the vision gifted would not be regular, it would only grant him to see the vitality of somebody's soul, which could come in useful, Grisephed had chuckled under his breath.
It was a deal he could not pass up, and even if he did... there was no guarantee the demon would've taken kindly to rejection.

*The ability served purpose after the mentioned rituals and has limitations to its user. Some which include but are not limited to; undead creatures, much like vampires are unaffected by this ability - their tissue is not formed of living cells and thus, this renders sanguine manipulation useless. Werewolves and other shapeshifting creatures may only be affected if their shifting is a hereditary gene, otherwise, the cells of a turned creature are considered corrupted and the manipulation might be choppy and in the worst of cases could cause damage to the manipulator himself. Even with the ability to drain life and vitality from a regular being, it was a certain death that could not be reanimated unless the body was manipulated within the same day (and even then, the body would only work the same day unless an individual ritual is prepared 1) otherwise, it became an inhabitable host, and not even soul manipulation would be able to reanimate the body. The only thing this body would then be good for would be for the creation of thralls or flesh golems, however, unlike with the rejection of a soul, this monstrosity will NOT obey the necromancer or anyone at all.

1 The ritual required is also knowledge that came with the exchange between man and demon; this ritual can keep the body intact and alive as if the being would've never died. Their everyday lives permanently frozen in time - no aging, no physical deterioration (within reason - if the being were to fall from the 23th floor of a building they would break every single bone, feel pain, and experience a never-ending death-like feeling, but not actually "re-die" and at that point only the Necromancer would be able to fix the damage done, but even then, in this event the being would realize its own immortality and this could result in the bond created by the ritual to become severed, thus resulting in immediate death.)
The way the ritual works is simple. the necromancer's own life is shared with the body, this is done through something similar to a plasma transfusion between two people, but with the soul of the necromancer. A small fragment of it is shared into the body for as long as the necromancer wishes - it can be days, months, years or centuries; BUT with the one requirement that the body remains within 50 miles of the necromancer. If this is overlooked, the fragment of the soul will return to the necromancer, and the body will perish.
In any case, if the ritual's bond is broken between body and necromancer, the soul fragment the necromancer lent the body.

Abilities [Continuation - Break Down]

Soul Manipulation: Just like with any necromancer, she is able to manipulate the soul of a once living being into a vial or container of some sort. However, with her ability, she has the option of making it so the host does not reject the soul, so her rituals don't need to be as long as other necromancers'.

Resurrection: Giel has a rare ability among necromancers; the ability to restore life without corruption. As a staple, when a regular necromancer reanimates a body, more often than not there are aspects of the reanimated-body's life that is not resurrected; such as certain locked away memories, some talents (such as playing an instrument, for example) are forgotten, and even simple actions such as writing may be lost when reanimated. The reason is simple, and often explained to young necromancers, when a body dies, a part of the soul - no matter how powerful the necromancer- dies with it. So when reanimated with a soul, even with the body's own, it's not complete.
However, her ability allows for keeping a soul intact, she is able to synthetically create a filler for the body's soul and give them a second chance. But alas, not all is as easy as said. In order for her to complete a ritual of this caliber properly, she needs to be the one terminating the life of the body she is to resurrect.

Spirit Summoning: Summoning in necromancy is used to learn from a soul or sprite that has been doomed to wander the plains of the underworld. A lot of the times, these spirits are too weak to be used to animate a body, but they are able to lend themselves to keep a body alive while trying to resurrect the true soul that belongs to the body.

Abilities [Continuation - Break Down]

Reanimation: Kiel has the ability to reanimate a body after a ritual performed around the deceased body. Unlike his father and sister, Kiel's reanimation abilities are rather stronger since he actually performs an elaborate ritual more often than not; this makes it so his reanimations last significantly longer, about 4 years on top of the standard 5. Furthermore, his knowledge of the human body allows for his reanimations to not succumb to rigor mortis as fast, making it so when they perish they look rather fresh.

Soul Manipulation: Again, unlike his family, Kiel's ritual allows for the soul manipulating process to be much more efficient - allowing him to carry the soul as if it were a ball of light. Of course this is only for a short amount of time, only about 10 minutes or so, but convenient when transporting the soul from one vessel to the next or into the host. Though, this increases the chances of rejection, he is able to lock the soul in, resulting in an "infection" per se, where the soul begins to decay within the body only allowing the host to be alive for a very limited time before the soul decays in its entirety and is sent to limbo. At that point, the host remains alive as a thrall or zombie which would then follow the necromancer's command. This process is called "dewinding."

Divination: Divination amongst necromancers is rare, but not impossible. This kind of ability is the result of a hereditary gene that allows the first child of a gene-carrying-necromancer to be born with the innate ability to recall events lived by a now deceased being; but this gene is only active once every 5 generations. This ability alone makes it so when he touches a dead body, he can connect with the soul of the once breathing creature. See through its memories and gain knowledge that only that being would have access to.
With this ability he is also able to sense certain "death" pertaining events such as illness, or accidents. That is, however, limited to only non-gifted mortals, so only human life is sensed by this ability. If another necromancer were to be in danger of death, even if Kiel were to try, the ability would not be triggered thus not allowing him to sense it at all.
