Adenovirus 423 Adenovirus 423

a9b85960115b85b67620955c999d2e37.jpg

Name: Keaton Daniels.
Age: 21.
Gender: Male.
Gang: The Disciples | The North.

Appearance:
Some would describe Keaton as a beanpole at 6'1" - tall, lanky, and with long, thin limbs. He almost looks like if a character walked out of a Tim Burton film and entered the real world. His skin is rather pale, to the point where he looks sickly and wan at almost all times. It doesn't help that the lack of sleep tends to give him some subtle bags under his eyes; and not to mention the cough that often comes along with it all. His hair is straight and black, falling just past his chin and usually quite greasy, as he tends not to care for his appearance too much. As well as that, his eyes also appear to be almost black from a distance - but really they are just dark brown. It's rare that he will ever be seen without the black gas mask that covers the lower portion of his face and helps filter the air for him to breathe. He likes to wear suits and formal wear, but the clothing in this world is usually shabby and damaged. So he learned to sew and patch clothing up, because he deserves nothing short of the best.

Weapons:
Most often prefers to use two handguns, though they are both different models; since he couldn't find a matching pair. One is black and the other is white. He even decided to name them: Yin and Yang. When he isn't using Yin and Yang, he has a pocket knife that he keeps folded up in, well, his pocket - but really he could fight with most anything he finds around. Pipes, bats, a rock... etc. Always looking around for flash bangs, molotovs, grenades, all that stuff.

Personality:
Straight off the bat, you'll find that Keaton is a rather unpleasant person to be around. Normally it's to be expected of those in The North. They are the antagonists, after all. He's really not even nice to his allies, though. Most of the time he just ignores them and never does anything to help those around him. He's uncannily selfish and greedy, refusing to share things he finds with others, not even rations of food. He appears to have no prejudice against who he kills and/or steals from - children, men, women, the sick and dying - all fair game to him. Being far from merciful, he'd probably never spare anyone unless he felt like it would be too much of a bother to kill them, or was losing a fight. Then he would run away like a coward. He has a twisted way of viewing the world, and thinks that anybody who isn't willing to serve him and cater to his demands doesn't even deserve to be alive; much less in his presence. He's sadistic, cold-hearted, and cruel. Also with a touch of arrogance and vanity, thinking himself to be both attractive and skilled in everything he does. If he isn't skilled, then he would make the excuse that it's because he's not trying or he doesn't want to be. Keaton is definitely a hard person to get to know, but he does have the capacity to treat others with respect - if he deems them worthy.

Biography:
Like some people, Keaton had the luck of being born under the protection and safety of a gang. At the time, this was actually The South that he had grown up in. His father had been a random member of that same gang who was never actually in love with his mother. He'd ditched her once he'd found out that she was pregnant, and no one but her would have known who he actually was. His mother was another member; one who actively slept around with any guy who was willing to indulge her. 'Course, protection isn't all that great or abundant these days, and well... Accidents happen. Keaton is one of them. He was a mistake but, nonetheless, she didn't get an abortion out of fear of how unclean and dangerous it could be, what with the lack of good medical supplies. When he was born she had been planning to drown him and no longer have to deal with some child depending on her, but the other gang members took him away from her and raised him instead. Having more members was a good thing, and they would be able to train him well from a young age. So it was a plus.
He never grew up around his mother because she eventually ended up being killed on the field when he was around a year old. To this date he has no actual memories of her, and only knows that her name was 'Alicia Davis'. Nobody had cared to give the boy a middle name, since he was just seen as another fighter rather than an actual person. Like any gang, they started training him from a young age on how to fight. It seemed he preferred to use small guns like pistols, so he honed those skills and became pretty efficient in the art. All in all, his childhood wasn't bad compared to a lot of people. He had food, clothing, shelter, a 'family', and didn't have to do much other than practice shooting things. Not once had he ever missed his parents, for he didn't know them and felt no misery at growing up without them. After the first time he killed, Keaton realized that he liked it. Taking another person's life seemed so natural and perfectly-suited to one like him.
By the time he was 14, Keaton decided to leave The South and join up with The North instead. Of course, he didn't tell them - he just left one day and never came back. He suspected that they might have looked for him for a bit, but only to kill him if they saw him. And then he was forgotten. The reason he wanted to be part of The North was because he believed that if this 'Key' existed, it should be used on him. Loki's Kin only wanted to destroy it and gain total control, but he wanted to use it. He doesn't want to die; he wants to stay alive and indulge himself in as many pleasures as this world can offer. Alcohol, drugs, women, food - anything that he can possibly obtain, he wants it. All of it. He's determined to find The Key and use it on himself, so that he can live to see the future. With each passing year he grows more desperate.

Other:
Since he's 21 years old, Adenovirus 423 has already begun to infect him. Even though he's in an early stage, he still has a particularly moderate case of lung problems that he has to deal with. It's affected him greatly, to the point where he had to start wearing a gas mask so he could breathe properly. Even too much pollen or dust in the air could cause him to start choking and gasping for breath. Oftentimes the virus can give him chest pains and make him weak, so he has to be careful not to overdo it.

New map guys, created by @Sentry And @Kian I will update this on the main page. Everywhere around the gangs red territory is no man's land and of course the underground is underground. :) we will be basing the locations off of these points so the leaders can take points from within their areas to claim. If it's within No Man's Land, but near your territory, we just have to work out if its already a location already been used or not by rogues. :)

Name:

Claire "Cal" Ansley Llewellyn
Age:
16
Gender:
Female
Gang:
Thanatos Instinct
Appearance:
Standing at only five foot two inches, and weighing at just around 110 pounds soaking wet, Cal is very petite and slender. With an athletic body, she takes a lot of pride in taking care of herself, and can usually be seen wearing very tight clothing that hugs her small frame. Her hips are a bit wide and her bust quite voluptuous, while her skin is silky smooth and radiates with an almost soft pink glow. Cal’s eyes are a gentle baby-blue hue, and her hair is short with a midnight blue tinge that really shines under the moonlight. Under her ambitious smile are pouty pink lips that just leave most begging for more.
Weapons:
Although she does not wield anything specific, she always keeps a few knives lying around, and especially favors ones small enough to throw – which she can execute with almost pinpoint precision.
Personality:

She is as unpredictable as she is beautiful. At times she comes across as shy and quiet, while others she is overly sarcastic, confident, and even lewd or inappropriate – or borderline manipulative. While she is only interested in other women, she has no qualms in taking advantage of her looks to get what she wants. But underneath all of that is just a girl who wants to be loved and understood. Adventurous as well as ambitious, she has big dreams and is willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill them.
Biography:
With her parents succumbing to the virus a handful of years ago, she has mostly been on her own, trying to make it in the West. Unfortunately, she has gone mostly unnoticed over the years, choosing to work behind the scenes and do just about anything that was asked of her. She hasn’t made a lot of friends, and while she doesn’t struggle to get close to people, she likes to keep them at a distance. Cal understands that her life will be short and she doesn’t have an interest in letting anyone get too close to her out of fear she will just break their heart. Currently, she isn’t very skilled at handling a gun, but she is a pro with a knife. Her talents include stealth and infiltration, her personality being ideal to worm her way into just about any situation comfortably.

At times, the leader of Thanatos Instinct has been known to use her skills in the field when he ventures out, Cal never leaving the safety of his shadow. Over the years she has come to revere Ulric as almost a father figure while trying to overcome his normally cold nature. Presently, she has been assigned to help out the West as a mechanic’s assistant, something she is ill prepared to do. But, Ulric believed she would get along well with Ghost. Not sure where he got that idea from.
Other:
She may give some the wrong idea, but she is a fierce character and feels no sense of regret when it comes to taking a life out of necessity. While she does belong to the West, she has many reservations about the cure, or any myth surrounding the Key.

Shea Daubney
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Gang: Loki's Kin

Appearance
Shea is a hefty gal, of that there is no doubt, but most of her weight is in muscle mass, which many find out the hard way. She's pale, dark-haired, and a bit tall for a woman, towering over most girls at six feet.

Weapons
Shea's got a trusty wrench. This wrench has busted more brains than its fixed vehicles, but it's a pretty versatile tool no matter how you use it.

Shea also has a shotgun. It's a pretty big shotgun. No one touches Shea's shotgun because they'll get Shea's wrench instead.

Personality
This woman doesn't take anyone's shit. She's selfish and mean and no one can really stop her. Thatcher is the only person she listens to, and she looks up to that man like he's the second coming of Jesus Christ.

That being said, Shea thinks that the way of life that they live now is punishment for the war, and destroying the key is the only way to make sure that humanity redeems itself.

She's a bit of a nut.

Biography
Behind the religious zealotry and the brutishness of her attitude, Shea has a past as colorful as anyone else's. She had good parents who were very much in love with one another. They made the best of their short lives with their daughter, cherished her, took care of her, killed for her, and trained her to be a mechanic. For her eighth birthday, Shea got a wrench. It was the same year her parents fell sick and gave her the lecture of how God abandoned them for their crimes and how the virus was some kind of redemption. Dying of the virus was the path to forgiveness.

That was the same day someone decided to off her parents even though they didn't have much time left. Some douche who held a grudge thought the best revenge was seeing the fear in their eyes, knowing they weren't getting to the big shiny prize they'd lived a shit life for.

He didn't get away, though. Funny thing about wrenches? It's a pretty versatile tool no matter how you use it.

Name: Lyra Galloway
1d41d282ef6ea4933292e03ba09a44bf.jpg

Age: 16
Gender: Female
Gang: South, Loki's Kin
Appearance: Despite her age, Lyra is a ragged survivalist, evident through her rough skin and experienced blue eyes. She has fairly short black hair tucked into a dark blue beanie while her fringe is parted off to one side, just to the right of her eye. She has scars on her face from her time in the wilderness which she hides with combat paint lines underneath her eyes. She wears light versatile tactical clothing with a harness as well as cloaks to maintain warmth and cover the metal glints from her steel gauntlets. She still wears the patched up remains of her outfit from when she emerged from the wilderness into Washington. Green cargo pants and a red shirt with gray sleeves along with arm braces occasionally.
Weapons:
  • Steel gauntlets have a retractable short bladed on the side of gauntlets.
  • Beretta M9 pistol
  • M16A3 Assault rifle, semi-automatic, modified with a hand-grip, and red dot sight.
Personality:
09db596d47baa49f15876a353bc12ed7.jpg

Lyra is practical to say the least, and as such, she dislikes any kind of formality or fanciness and often acts crude and rude. With coaxing, she will partake in such actions to achieve her goals. Her words can be unsympathetic and harsh, even when she means well. She is strict and similar to a drill sergeant during her weekly training session. She is rather lively when speaking about her hobbies, though no one has ever seen her hobbies nor talked about them as of yet.
Biography:
Lyra originates from a military family with both of her parents being a part of a lineage of United States Marines from the past. She is an only child and often listened to the stories their ancestors experienced in the third world war. As a child, she was tended for by a close friend of the family most often, yet found her parents to be her heroes. When the virus struck her parents on a scavenging mission, she was left alone in a desolate city. Older scavengers filled the city, causing her to flee the city into the wilderness where she remained until the recently. Her survival was only a byproduct of her pure hatred for those who sent her mother and father off to their deaths in the war. She joined the North to ensure that old politics never claim another life again.
Other: Lyra hosts a weekly training session to strengthen her fellow Southerners.

For people that have already submitted characters and are posting, secondary characters are automatically accepted :)

Makes things easier so you guys don't have to wait.

To people that haven't made any character posts yet, do you guys need any help getting into a scene with your characters. Let me know because I'd be happy to help summarise scenes to get you involved. :)

Edit: please ignore this as it isn't now being revised and edited. Will let you know when it happens.

Right, going to put this up here, just got get an understanding of mobility, animals etc for gangs. And power.

  • No Man's Land - players here have no electricity. Candles and campfires are used to keep warm. Heating up hot water.
  • Gangs - have very limited power - hydropower for charging batteries etc persay, but it isn't very efficient so it would probably take a few hours to charge one battery.
  • Vehicles - very few have managed to be maintained over the years because of the gangs, the rivalry and conflict, the lack of care etc etc. Again, restoring is a problem because replica stuff has to be found or made that isn't always there and resources and knowledge are low. Bicycles or skateboard or scooters could be made. Also horses can be commonly used to get about.
  • Alternative fuel sources - looking at ethanol and ammonia currently, as the above post but this probably isn't economical or efficient.
  • Food - animals are abundant. Wolves, deer, rabbit are around plentifully.
  • Animals - rats and cockroaches are around and abundant in no man's land. Horses, cows, sheep and the above animals are abundant.
  • Weather - it's currently cold, windy and wet. But when it's dry it's dusty.
If you need to discuss something with me, to make sure it's okay, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm going to update the main page. Also, I'll tag everyone here to notify of this, but also if you see something inconsistent, let me know so I can amend or we can work it out. This is where my knowledge lacks so all help greatly appreciated.

Last but not least, it's been pointed out about character deaths and injuries, most people know to discuss with the other player first, but for anyone that is new and not aware, if you are wanting of kill or injure a character that someone owns, check with them. It must be mutually agreed. If that player doesn't want that outcome for their character then you can't force it.

Hopefully that's everyone, and this is just so that everyone is aware of how I imagine things. Will update the main page once I have a laptop again and update locations and profiles also when I can get a hold of my brother's laptop.

Again, need any help getting involved in a scene, if you haven't posted yet, let me know.

Name:
Sanjay Kau
Age:
19
Gender:
Male
Gang:
Obsidian Knights
Appearance:
With eyes as cold and frigid as a winter's night, his hair is as black as midnight and hangs well past his broad shoulders when it isn’t tied up and hugging his face. At six feet tall, and right around 145 pounds, he is quite skinny but fit, his chest and abs seemingly carved like marble with a defined musculature. Of Asian descent, his wardrobe varies depending on the circumstances; but normally, he wears all black, and has the tendency to cover his face with a hood pulled over his head and a scarf that leaves only his eyes left to peer from the shadows.
Weapons:
Sanjay is as versatile as they come in how to handle himself in a fight, but he prefers to keep his distance and end a battle before it begins. He is an extremely accurate sniper and puts a lot of trust in his M24 – able to take a shot at about a mile depending on the caliber. Nonetheless, he remains prepared for most situations with the habit of keeping a katana strapped to his back, as well as various daggers or even a few pistols at his side in the case of an emergency. This doesn’t even include what he can do just with his fists or his legs for that matter. The man is extremely quick and flexible, able to move rapidly like an acrobat while remaining quiet and having a good sense of balance.
Personality:
If you ever wondered about the strong silent types, then Sanjay is your man. He never says much, but most would consider him as strategic, valuing brains over brawn. Very few ever really know what he is thinking, his emotions normally being quite neutral even in the most stressful environments. While he rarely shares a single thought to anyone, he is quite compassionate, offering a hug or shoulder to cry on when others are in desperate need. But who is to really know how complicated the man really is? Unfortunately, like all good things, they grew complicated over time when he was simply in the wrong place at the right time.

There isn’t much to be said whether it was a mistake or not, or how Sanjay even feels about it because he never says anything on the subject as if it never even happened at all. One night with Asha either changed things for better or worse with them contaminating whatever brief fleeting moment in time they had was not a part of the plan. Fate, unfortunately, had other plans as the child didn’t make it. Ever since though, at least in public, neither Sanjay or Asha for that matter show much compassion for one another outside of just being close friends… seemingly having moved on from their shoddy past decisions.
Biography:
In his earlier years, he spent his time mostly alone, his home being wherever he could make it before coming to the Obsidian Knights in the east. Sanjay never really knew his parents, nor did he ever make many friends in light of him rarely saying much to anyone. His talents nonetheless have come to be valued by his comrades, and he has been a member of a squad headed up by Asha ever since he can remember.
Other:
You could easily consider Sanjay as Asha’s personal bodyguard, but he never stays close to her, but instead sticks to her shadow or watches silently from overhead. He was a member of Asha’s squad before it was slaughtered, and was presumed missing in action or dead. In an unofficial capacity, he is like an ambassador to the West, sharing information between the two gangs in an effort to share their resources.

The above bio is incomplete. The rest is written but I am waiting for some finalization with relevant users and their characters, so, expect more once that happens. Otherwise, he is good to go and has the proper approval thus far at least for what is presented currently.

Edit: All good! :D

I feel as though my characters ought to have been subject to revisions prior to their approval based on this new information. One of them is a mechanic who, as written, is capable of most things a modern day mechanic would be capable of. The other is an electrician with a lot of computer experience. If fuel and power are so scarce as to be barely able to charge batteries, the second character's concept is wholly invalidated and he probably shouldn't have been accepted to the RP without significant rewriting. :L now I've written stuff IC with both of them that will need to be rewritten.

wasteland_warrior_by_ton2005xxx_datd4dl.jpg

Name:

Caius Septimius Leonius
Age:
17
Gender:
Male
Gang:
Thanatos Instinct
Appearance:
Caius is by far one of the largest men in the West, at six foot eight inches and weighing roughly 225 pounds, when he isn’t barking orders, much of his time is spent training his body – which is needless to say, ripped. His raven black hair is ordinarily a disheveled mess, and for one reason or another, he opts to wear a mask over his face so nobody really knows what he looks like underneath. Choosing mobility over all else, he never wears a shirt; instead, his arms are outfitted with custom armor plating and he keeps a red scarf draped around his neck, billowing behind him.
Weapons:
There isn’t really a weapon out there that Caius couldn’t fire with pinpoint accuracy, but, in light of his role within Thanatos Instinct and the level of protection in the West, he rarely has a gun on him. With a trusty sword at his side, he also carries two blades connected by chains, which can be seen dangling along his waist.
Personality:
This stoic man has a way of demanding a level of respect that is far removed from Ulric’s crude approach. He is respected not only by his decisions, but his demeanor, which is restrained, thoughtful, and decisive. Among the men, his stature stands only beneath Ulric, and an argument could be made that they might even respect him more – although Caius is brutally loyal, and more than has Ulric’s ear when it comes to giving sound military advice. Normally, he spends most of his time listening, and never speaks out of turn or disrespects those who rely on him for their orders.
Biography:
If anyone were to be the successor to Ulric, it would be Caius. Presently, he is in complete command over all of the West’s forces, his time spent overseeing the command center. He is solely in charge of managing patrols, scouting missions, and other offensive and defensive measures. While Ulric may be the president, Caius is undoubtedly the general leading his armies. With a knack for fighting, it has been hard for him to stay put in the Pentagon, ensuring everyone is doing their job and communicating mainly through radio transmissions with the various forces spread out across the region.

Born to a large family with multiple brothers who hold one job or another in the West, he was always fascinated with books on war and conflict; always reading about the likes of Caesar or Alexander the Great along with other historical figures. He started young when it came to mastering various forms of weaponry and combat, and came to look up to Ulric – who returned the feeling. There is a strong bond and mutual respect between the pair, one that promotes cooperation and understanding.
Other:
Is very similar to Ulric in some of the decisions he makes, which is why most can comfortably confide in him when Ulric isn't available. The man is able to make most decisions without Ulric's consent, which makes him very capable of being quite independent.

Name:
HERO

Age:

Teens (?)

Gender:

Female

Gang:

Underground

Appearance:
Hero is an albino, but it's hard to tell under all the grime. She has unruly, shoulder-length white hair and red eyes. Her eyes and nose are often red-rimmed as a result of a perpetual cold she seems to have. She is unusually tall and gangly for her age, enough to be mistaken for a man, at least until she speaks. Her voice is a dry and raspy monotone.

She is usually dressed in dark blues or grays, with some manner of hood and face covering, like bandanas. Most of her body is concealed within a mottled poncho that helps her blend in with her surroundings. The poncho could be accurately described as a cloak as well.

Weapons:
Hero's favored weapon is a hunting crossbow with a low-powered scope. When in melee combat, she uses punch daggers or one of the many shivs she carries wherever she goes.

Personality:

Hero is not a nice human, and does not like other humans. She prefers to limit her interactions with them to trading supplies, but has been known to kill them--or kill for them--if she has enough reason. Honestly, it doesn't take much to give her a reason. Those who know Hero know to tread lightly and let sleeping dogs lie.

Hero will often smile and laugh even if she doesn't find anything funny, a tic she's developed over time. Most things are funny to her, however. She is the kind of person who would laugh at funerals, if she'd ever been to one. The ironies of everyday life in the post apocalypse are not lost on her. If you don't understand her humor, she might try to explain it to you.

When forced to fight, Hero may seem overly sadistic and gruesome, but that's not how she sees it. She merely takes advantage of what few benefits her short life has afforded her. Among those benefits are stealth, agility, and a working knowledge of the human body's weaknesses. However, the distinction is often lost on those less inclined to violence, mostly due to the rumors about what happens to her enemies.

One little known oddity is that Hero likes to collect books of poetry and short stories, and has even tried her hand at writing some of her own. The few who have read them and recognize them for what they are may be led to believe that Hero is a good writer. They are mistaken.

There is nothing good about Hero.

Biography:
Not much is known about Hero before she crawled out of a tiny maintenance access shaft and asked for a cigarette, and that's the way she prefers it. Although the other denizens of the Underground see her at best as an ally and at worst a nuisance, Hero doesn't subscribe to their logic. The Underground is hers, and she merely tolerates their presence. She knows every nook and cranny in the place. Every doorway, every tunnel, every grate. And all throughout her domain, she's laid devious, deadly traps. Somewhere in the uncanny maze is a secret place where she rests her head, but only one person living has any idea where it is.

Hero has quite nearly become an urban legend. The lonely specter of the deep tunnels, living off rats until someone more flavorful wanders into her domain. Whispers in the vents speak of murder or worse. Days or weeks might pass without a sign of the girl but for the faint wisps of tobacco smoke lingering in the choked corridors and the inescapable feeling of eyes watching you from somewhere in the dark.

Hero only rarely ventures above ground, usually at the behest of others. She has been known to carry out thefts or assassinations in exchange for various and sundry items such as food and blankets, though she has a particular fondness for anything you can light and smoke.

Other:

Years living in darkness have granted Hero preternatural vision in the dark, but at a cost. Torches, flashlights, or (of course) sunlight will hurt her and may cause temporary blindness. When she has to be in the light, she wears a pair of scratch-made blackout goggles.
