Vitam et Mortem IC - Altsoba School of Sorcery

The rest of Anna's September was a lot different than it had been her last few years in Altsoba. The past two years, she would simply spend it doing her best in her classes and joking around and gossiping with her friends when they had free time. However, after that interaction with Heinrich, her time became more divided. She attempted to bring the fire sorcerer into her friend group multiple times, but he was so painfully awkward that it was a bit difficult. She ended up splitting her time between her original friend group and the ginger sorcerer.

They would usually meet during the lunch break, where Anna would learn the forest herself and eventually make it so that Heinrich could get back to school on time for this fifth period class. Until that first snow, Heinrich would cook for them with the things they foraged for in the forest at dinner time. A few times, Anna brought along a friend, but Heinrich's awkward nature once again made it difficult. Eventually, she would just come alone. Once the snow started, the foraging stopped, but the two would still head out to the forest. Anna even started to copy Heinrich while he was practicing his taichi, incorporating her own ballet things into it. It wasn't the best, but she was working on it.

When everyone was boarding the bus, Anna and her crowd had been the first on the Orniormabichu. ("Orniormabusu," somebody quipped,) The rather large group had taken up the five seater at the back, as well as many of the seats in front of it. Anna took one of the seats in front of the five-seater, with her light pink backpack on the seat next to her, saving it for Heinrich. She stood on the seat so that she could peer over into the aisle, looking for the red haired sorcerer.

Mia spent another week researching and linking her HoH Textbooks and the newspaper article. She did her best to answer her questions, but she just didn't have all the information to answer each of them to the full extent they needed and deserved. This frustrated her to no end, but she knew when to quit. She needed to get back to studying for her other subjects. She kept the notebook in her bedside table though, ready to write in at even the slightest suggestion of a similar murder. At the end of it, she had concluded that it must have been a strong sorcerer or sorceress that killed Kenneth in the same way as a Hunter to cause hysteria. Why they had wanted to get the sorcerers in school riled up, Mia didn't know.

The mystery wasn't solved. So, the earth sorceress kept it in mind. She would often think of something new that she would think was maybe a breakthrough, but it would always fall just short. The rate of these 'breakthroughs' would slow and slow, until there wasn't any more, and by the time the school was going to Banff she hadn't touched the notebook for two weeks.

Sure, it was fun to go to Banff, but that wasn't the main reason Mia went. She got on the Orniormabichu after a lot of other people, so seating was a bit more scarce. She took a seat next to a boy with dark hair and purple eyes. "Sorry if you were saving this seat for anyone," she said quickly, dropping her messenger bag to the ground. She looked at the boy, recognising him pretty quick after that. He had a weird name that she couldn't remember just then, and he was a transfer student from...somewhere, she was pretty sure.

The past couple of weeks had been different to say the least for Heinrich, the small Air Sorceress had begun visiting more him more often in the forests. Sometimes helping him forage for ingredient, most times she would go to drag him back to classes on time. Occasionally she would drag him to hang out with her group of friends, but Heinrich would rarely talk much to them, not knowing what to fully say. Gossip of the school that they would talk about never really interested him much, ending up keeping silent for most of their exchanges.

He didn't dislike the changes in his normal routine, and actually welcomed them. He hadn't planned on going on the trip with the others, but Anna had asked him to go, and he really didn't have anything he could think of better to do. Arriving a few moments late, he quickly entered the strange Bus Creature. Anna was easy to spot, her pink backpack was easy to spot, that and she was the only student Standing on their seat.

------------------------------------------------------

Vivian had arrived early for the trip outing, wanting to get a decent seat before the rush of new students. She had convinced her roommate Meghan to join her into Banff, insisting to her that she needed to get out more. It was nice fore Vivian having someone there to talk to, and the Clairvoyant was decent enough conversation. She had surprised Vivian with her training to be a Clairvoyant, which was much tougher than she had given it credit.

She had begun to get close with Meghan over the past couple of weeks, listening to her after she would arrive home from classes. Sometimes she would try helping her anyway she could, with various techniques or potions for sleep and headaches.
Needing more supplies for the various potions it would be the perfect opportunity to go into town, as there were some exotic shops available to those who knew where to look.

Hazel bit her lip, still worrying about the events of the past few weeks that had gone by. She knew it was silly to still dwell on it, but she just couldn't stop thinking about it over and over. For one, she still had no idea what had happened to the quiz they had taken previously, and her mother would flay her alive if she'd gotten anything lower than an A. Although on her list of things that were nagging at her mind, the threat of her parents, for once, was pretty low in her priorities. No, she was much more worried about the news that she'd heard during lunch.

The fact that she'd had weeks to stew over it amplified the problem in her mind. She knew Sophie thought it was a bunch of rubbish conjured up by the media to freak people out, especially since they'd had full on discussions about it. Hazel really did wish she could be like Sophie and just forget about it, but it was almost impossible now. The amount that she'd heard from other students and even teachers made it unforgettable to her, and it worried her. If Hunters really were real and free again... Well, it wouldn't be any good. She didn't want to bother her friend, so she stayed quiet about the topic, instead choosing to talk about much more positive topics, but she felt like it was about time to say something. "Hey Sophie, remember that story in the news about how the professor died? I know you think it's a load of crap, but I'm still not completely sure... Are you sure that's a fake story? I can't quite tell, it just seems really real," she said, scratching the back of her head. "It might just be that I'm being ridiculously paranoid, but still, it's kind of bothered me for a bit, so yeah."

Sinclair was one of the last to arrive at the bus. As such, he got the seat right behind the driver, but at least he got it to himself! Sinclair hadn't been to the town before, so he sincerely hoped that he wouldn't get lost. Maybe I should tag along with some of the others? Sinclair quickly shook his head as an answer. No, not unless I get invited.

The problem was that Sinclair, after the several fiascos in most of his classes, hadn't talked to anyone, other than the headmistress, a lot. In fact, one could say that his only friend so far was the tiny cat, ceril, that went with him wherever he went.

With this being the case, Sinclair spread his legs out on the seat, his back resting against the window. Ceril, the puca, sat in his lap, licking at her paws. Waiting for the trip to start, or for someone to talk to him, Sinclair shut his eyes.

Sophie was staring out the window, enviously, as the upperclass men gathered upon a very odd looking bus. Meanwhile she and Hazel were stuck in the school. It was strangely quiet in the common room with most of the older students gone and she was preoccupied with how the two girls could be spending their Saturday when Hazel interrupted her thoughts. "Hm?" She blinked and turned to face her friend, shaking her head.

"You're not still on about the hunter thing?" When it was indeed confirmed, Sophie sighed and sat closer to the other girl. "I mean... it's possible, but this one thing after hundred of years? It just seems a little... ridiculous, don't you think?"

It wasn't that Sophie didn't worry, but between the amount of homework she had to complete, the aches and pains from gym, and her desire to join the Dueling Team, she simply didn't have time in her brain for things that were so far away, so unreal. "I'm sure they'll catch whoever did it and soon." She assured, with a smile. "Hey! Want to go build some snowmen outside?" That sounded like way more fun than peering over homework that they'd been looking at all week. "We can finish this essay for potions later. Come on!" She grabbed Hazel's hand, attempting to tug her out of her seat.

Eva was beginning to accept disappoint when one more glance over her shoulder showed Nito heading their way. Her smile was smile, subtle, but the spark of excitement in her eyes wouldn't be hard to miss to anyone paying attention. "I was starting to think you wouldn't show up," She admitted. He came. The fact that he'd put in more effort than normal in his appearance and had gone as far as to try and fix her hair made the stomach butterflies flutter. "I like it," She would admit when he mentioned how long it took for his hair. She preferred when he normally had it unruly, but it certainly wasn't her place to say so.

They started to head onto the bus and awkwardly Eva introduced Nito to, "My best friend, Monique. And her boyfriend, Max." It was strange introducing him to people he already knew, but she'd witnessed his self-isolation and figured they needed the proper introduction. The four were the last onto (into?) the creature and had to scramble to find seats. Max, being Mister Popular, easily persuaded another grade 11 to move and sit elsewhere so that he and Monique could sit together.

The ride into town was a short fifteen minutes. Monique, Max, Nito, and Eva went first to the Harry Potter movie where they ran into Klaus and Joanna. The six of them ended up sitting together with Eva and Nito situated between the two couples. It was clear there were other sorcerer students in the audience, too, because they were the only other ones laughing at all the wrong times.

After the movie Eva wanted to stop at the potions shop to stock up on potions ingredients. Monique and Eva each left with a hefty amount of ingredients tucked away in the same seemingly bottomless backpack usually reserved for potions. And then it was lunch! Food!

---

Meghan had no specific plans while in town. Mostly she planned on following Vivian around, although there was a bookshop she'd heard of that she wanted to stop into. The young clairvoyant also thought that maybe she could buy her new friend a present for being so kind.

At the very least, she could offer to pay for some of the potion ingredients or replenish Vivian's green tea supply while building her own supply of the soothing drink. "Thanks for dragging me out." The young woman beamed at her friend. It was good to get out from inside the school.

Never mind the feeling of dread and the headache beginning to prick just behind her eyes.

---

Hayato was with his roommate but the other guy had seen a human girl in the café they had ended up at and he wanted to stay, talking to her. Uninterested in being a wing man, Hayato paid for his drink, got up and left. He stood at the corner, right in front of the alleyway, blowing on his hands for some added warmth as he looked around to see what else he could find. He doubted there was a comic book shop nearby, but a guy could hope.

"Got a lighter?" A woman asked. He looked up. She was standing just inside the alleyway, a cigarette in one hand and a freshly opened pack being tucked away into a back pocket. She was a little older than Hayato, but she was smiling at him all the same. Blonde hair piled high into a messy ponytail.

He was incredibly disappointed, suddenly, that he didn't smoke. "Uh, no." He answered eventually.

"That's okay. I have some matches. Mind helping me block the wind?"

"Uh, sure." So he stepped forward, into the alley...

The day was a blur of socialization, a constant source of stress. He wasn't adept at handling new people, new places, new...things. It showed on his face, the occasional frown, the vacant look in his eyes, the frantic fidgeting of his fingers against his legs or the collar of his robe. Honestly, Nito wasn't enjoying his time here. The bus ride was short, the movie was tedious, obviously written for normal human children, and he drew odd looks from the majority of the people who gazed on him. Right now, he could be practicing. Researching. Honing his mind and his craft and his power. This...this was a waste...or almost one...

There was one thing making the whole thing bearable. One person keeping him from just getting up and leaving and walking back to the school. Putting up with all of the inane activities for Eva. It almost felt worth it, and to a certain extent, it did feel refreshing to spend time with her in some manner other than cyromancy practice and forced meals by the lake. It was also good to be as far from the school as possible, for various...legal reasons.

It was a shame it had to come to that. Nito had hoped that his certain style of influence wouldn't be needed, but that poor excuse at a concealment spell had forced his hand. It was never a call that Nito looked forward to making, but it was necessary. This had only been the third time he'd ordered such a thing, and to his credit, he'd never done it with his own hands. Gregori with Antony. His cousin Camilla with the man who had try to steal Nito's ancestral home. His uncle Goergio with the methamphetamine dealer and addict who had kidnapped his little Avacyn.

But those thoughts were neither here nor there. Right now, his attention was focused on the girl who captivated nearly half of his waking thoughts. Soon, she'd be free of the monster who plagued her life, free to be happy, and cherished, and cared for. As they were walking to lunch, the idea of such liberation for the water sorcereress made Nito reach for her hand before he realized what he was doing...

Well, this is going to be interesting, Julian thought, glancing around. He knew that he'd arrived later than pretty much every student in the school year, but hopefully no one would notice him slide into their usual lives. He slid into a random seat during class, ignoring the whispers and strange looks he was getting from everyone else. Heh, let the rumors fly. Not like I care, he thought, staring at the back of a girl's head.

As soon as the lunch bell rang, Julian almost bolted from the classroom, eager to do something and have a bit of free time before skidding to a stop. He stood around in the hallway awkwardly for a couple of minutes, gaze darting around the tables that he saw. Crap, where was he going to sit? He had no friends that he could sit next to, and it wasn't like he could just start introducing himself right that instant- it had been a month into school, after all. God, why couldn't he have just been transferred at the beginning of the year? It would have been way easier. Julian sat by himself for awhile, eating his lunch in silence and putting away some more of his things when he heard a pair of girls talking about something. Was it just me, or did they mention something about snowmen? He wondered, staring at them. Too bad I couldn't go. It'd be creepy and weird to invite myself along, but this really sucks, it's even more boring than class, he thought, turning back around. Well, it's either have an awkward conversation or just sit here like a total loser. Might as well say hi, I guess. Can't hurt, right? He strode briskly over to the pair and gave a nod of greeting towards both of them. "Hi, Julian Ernstiel. Sorry to come on you randomly like that, but it gets rather boring to just sit by yourself. Too many funny looks and not enough people to talk to. Who're you lot?" He asked, tilting his head. He had to make a conscious effort not to stare at either of them. One of them was ridiculously tiny, and the other... Well, she just caught his eye, and it was all he could do not to stare at her. For the moment, Julian decided to stop thinking so much and just to focus on the conversation, so he leaned against the table and waited for a reply.

Sinclair walked around the town for a bit, spending the majority of his day in a pet store. Go figure. The girl at the counter had been playing with Ceril while Sin had a couple of ferrets in his hands. They had been $80 for one of them. With such a cheap price...Sinclair bought one.

Walking out of the store, Sin smiled at the girl, whose name had been Emily. She blushed a little as he left, but, being the oblivious idiot he is, Sinclair didn't notice. With a ferret coiled around his neck, and Ceril in her pocket, he resumed his aimless wandering of the town. That was until he caught sight of another student going into an alley.

Hayato, that was the guy's name, right? Anyways, his curiosity peaked, Sinclair made his way over to the alleyway. Moving slowly and stealthily, he poked his head out just enough to see what was going on.

By the time that Sinclair had peered around the alley, the blonde woman had Hayato pressed up against the brick wall. Her lips were at his neck and his head tilted to the side. To anyone looking on, it simply looks like a young couple getting adventurous in a quiet alley. The woman would look up to find a face looking at them and she would grin, a little, shooing him away with one hand. Leave the kids be.

Sinclair turned around. While he felt bad for Hayato, for some strange reason, he immediately changed his focus. Petting the ferret as he walked away, Sinclair decided on a name for the little critter. "I'm gonna name you Dot."

The ferret was nearly all silver, his coat glossy in the street lights. A large black spot adorned his right shoulder. "Hey Ceril, what do you think of Dot," Sinclair asked the tiny puca as it popped its head out from his jacket. Oddly enough, the cat-shaped shifter purred a little, as though it was accepting of Dot. Smiling, lightly, to himself, the young mage continued to walk down the street. His hands were in the pockets of his dark blue jeans.

Combat boots were on his feet with his pants leg on the outside, while a dark green army jacket was worn on the outside of a grey hoodie. Making his way down the street, Sinclair began to look for a place to eat.

Max was having a great (excuse his french) goddamn time. First the trip to the town with Monique, which was already amazing news. Then Eva and her new friend (Boyfriend?) Nito tagged along too. The guy was pretty cold (Heyo!) but he seemed the right sort, if a bit creepy and seemingly a bit more detatched than he would normally expect from a person. But Eva practically had her eyes glued to him the entire time, and that was good enough for Max. She hadn't even had this reaction with Antony, which spoke pretty well! Plus, look at that! They're holding hands! Awww! Wonder how Antony handled the breakup?

Anyway, after watching the latest Harry Potter movie, in which the group had mostly mocked the inaccuracies (Or rather, Monique and the others had, while Max ompared it to the book and Nito kinda just sat there with a disdainful look on his face), the group had swiftly vacated the premises after getting the stink eye from nearly every other viewer and employee, to who Max bowed his head and grinned sheepishly.

Deciding to go get some food, the group all looked at each other silently for a moment until Max decided McDonald's and the group almost unanimously agreed. Living in a castle eating only the healthiest and finest of foods wpuld give any teen a hunger for junk food. It didn't take long for Max to charm some information out of a pair of locals (although it may have actually been the sight of Monique cracking her knuckles at the two girls behind Max's back that did it), and before long the group was traipsing their way downtown, looking for the telltale Golden Arches and joking with each other. At one point Max even slung his arm around Nito's shoulder.

Along the way the group spotted that kid from the runes class. Sinclair? He was pretty sure it was Sinclair. The whole procedure with Professor Loray was talked about for almost a week. The guy was semi-infamous for being better at pissing off teachers than Larry. Letting go of Nito, Max jog his way over and slung his arm around Sinclair's shoulders instead, taking the guy by surprise.

"Yo! Sinclair right?" He begins, grinning at the lad. "Me others are headed to go get some Maccas. Come on!" He says, guiding the guy back to the group before continuing on.

Ten minutes later and the group found themselves at a table inside the decently populated fast food store. Max sat there, enjoying three burgers and a thick shake while Monique sniped his fries and stole one of his burgers, having not really ordered much herself (He didn't mind, even if he was sure it was to save money.) Eva and Nito had gotten ice cream, with the girl having to explain step by step the ordering process for the teen. It was pretty hilarious.

Even though it was tempting to go around with her other friends for the day, Anna spent most of it with Heinrich. She had been the one that asked him to come to the town, after all. While they were doing their own things, Heinrich might notice how the short sorceress seemed to blend in flawlessly with other humans. She would chat meaninglessly with them whenever the opportunity for small talk arose. It was most obvious when somebody brought up the topic of the Harry Potter movies. "I wish magic was a real thing," she complained convincingly to the lady in front of her in the clothing shop queue.

Anna had managed to get some money from her parents for the trip, having promised that she would get at least a B- on her next Potions test. If she didn't get at least that grade, whatever she bought would be sent home The only things she bought were clothes, most of which had to be bought from the kids aisles. Anna and Heinrich came out of one shop, the sorceress holding a shopping bag full of children's clothes, though they were as grown up as Anna could pick. "The only good thing about being this short is that the clothes are cheaper," she remarked with a giggle.

She felt her stomach rumble and frowned. "I'm hungry. Wanna go get something to eat?" She asked the fire sorcerer.

When she sat next to the exchange student, Mia hadn't expected the two to have a fair amount of conversational material. A little bit of small talk on the electives they were taking had lead to a common ground; Ishade took choir, while Mia took band. This launched into a full on conversation on music and musical tastes, full of favourite songs to play and to listen to. The conversation didn't end when they got off the bus. Mia invited Ishade to go get tea at the first café she saw, eager to continue the conversation.

A fair bit of time passed, music being the main topic. As much as Mia wanted to talk about magic and their gifts, the non-sorcerer folks around made that pretty impossible without arousing suspicion. Mia finished off the third coffee she'd ordered, leaning her elbows onto the table. "Last year, we did Festive Overture," she said, face screwed up in distaste. "It wasn't as good as it sounds." She shook her head and sighed.

They'd been in the café for a fair amount of time now. "I was hoping to buy some new stationary today. Do you want to come with me?" She asked.

For the fauna mage, the next couple of weeks had passed rather quickly between duelling practice, which he did even when it wasn't scheduled, improving his control and fluidity with spells noticeable, as well as his physical condition.
Between that, classes and his gift meditation that he did at times in the forest, he didn't have much free time to let his mind wander, and it was good. He still woke up uncountable times every night, not preyed on by nightmares, he just opened his eyes, checked the time, and sometimes opened the room's window, to Hayato's misery because it was cold... but Ishade felt he was drowning sometimes, drowning inside the room, drowning among the blankets, drowning among people. The only friend he had made so far was Eva. Although he occasionally chatted with Heinrich the fire mage during lunch before he left to meditate. Eva was nice, and he had noticed her slipping further away from the fire mage's grasp that seemed a bit suffocating, and stepping forwards towards the cold of Nito, who Ishade was terrified of. Bot Anthony and Nito seemed terrifying to the fauna mage for very different reasons. He admired Eva because she could deal with them both and highly appreciate them too. He just couldn't.
Ishade thought of making her and her new friend a present, but he needed the materials and time to see if it'd be worth giving.

When he heard of the excursion he immediately tagged along to buy some potion materials, but mostly wood and chocolate powder, and new tools for his personal arts and crafts.
He was hoping to sit alone in the bus creature, which fascinated him, but apparently it couldn't be. What he wasn't hoping was for the Earth mage and himself to have so much in common, let alone about music taste which could be incredibly varied. He found himself engaged in discussions with Mia, saying more at once than anything he'd said since school started. When she suggested going for tea, he immediately accepted, hoping, praying she didn't mind.
Tea reminded him of his brother, tea with milk, like he always chose to have it. Lukias always had his tea with milk and honey if he could, a ping of sadness flooded his mind for a minute. He missed his brother, he missed his family. But the thought died out as the conversation carried on. He found himself being... himself. This new school was suffocating him. At his old school he wasn't a loner, he had friends, and a boyfriend. But then that happened, and he didn't have friends anymore, and he was expelled and had to literally move countries. He avoided talking about himself, or why it was so hard to socialise. It wasn't one of those cliche -im afraid i'll hurt them'. Ishade wasn't dangerous. He was scared.

Blinking, as he hadn't even considered another invitation to spend time together, Ishade agreed to go with Mia to get some stationary.
"I have to err... do some shopping as well, if you want to come. it's okay if you don't, though." He assured her with a nervous smile. fidgeting with his hands, like always, as they left the cafe.

Hayato had walked forward, ready to cup his hands to block the wind. The irony was not lost on him that he could simply divert the wind… but no magic outside of school. He looked up at the woman, who was digging for some matches, and when he met her eyes he felt something painful in his chest. Looking down he saw a knife sticking, her hand attached to it.

He thought, maybe, she had whispered an apology but after that… his mind was gone.

Maya had the young witch pushed up against the brick of the wall, large hunting knife buried deep into his chest. When she heard movement from the end of the alley she pressed her body close and kissed the dying witch’s neck.

After a moment she looked up and there was a kid staring at them. Another one of them. There were a lot out today, something she hadn’t expected. She considered her options. This witch boy wouldn’t be going anywhere and she could take on the other… Child’s play, really. Except she didn’t have that kind of time. So she just waved to the boy who seemed to get the hint that all was fine and his little school friend was simply getting a lucky afternoon. She nearly snorted at the irony. Once the kid had walked off, she straightened up.

Great, there was fucking blood on her blouse.

The young witch gurgled something and she twisted her wrist, twisting the knife. It wasn’t long before he was dead and the Hunter set to work.

As Mia and Ishade exit the coffee shop and pass by the alley. Mia would trip over something. It was large and thick and… a leg. Turning to inspect what would be sticking out from the alley? There was a body.

A student.

Hayato.

His head was a few feet away further in the alley, completely removed from his body. The eyes were still wide open, surprised.

There was a large hole in his chest like it had been crudely cut open. The boy’s heart rest beside his body.

His shirt had been cut open and there, crudely carved into his stomach, was a capital H.

---

Sophie dropped her friend's hand and turned to look at the boy who had approached them. He was new, a transfer, she knew that much. She also knew that he’d been staring at Hazel… often. It was strange and he seemed a little awkward and he was staring at Haze again, but Sophie smiled and nodded, “Ah, it’s okay…” She rocked on her feet a little. “I’m Sophie.” She thought about offering her hand to shake but only adults in business suits do that.

“We were just about to go outside and throw snowballs or something want to come?” Please, Haze, don’t bring up the Hunters now.

---

It wasn't long before Eva started feeling a little... guilty about convincing Nito to come into town with her. The bus ride he seemed okay; it was short and squished into a seat next to her, but he hadn’t complained.

He hadn’t complained the entire afternoon, just had this expression on his face. Like none of this interested him. She figured he would rather be studying. Still, he continued going along with whatever plan of action they had next. Though as their party grew she could tell he was growing more and more uncomfortable.

She found herself smiling at him, frequently. The more time she spent with Nito, particularly outside of practicing with him, the more she decided that whatever Anthony would do to her, it would be worth it to leave him. For good. He was a pretty powerful fire sorcerer, but she wasn’t exactly weak. She just had to remember that.

That was the thought in her mind while they headed to lunch. When Nito slipped her hands into hers it felt completely natural… Until she realized that she wasn’t supposed to be holding hands with someone who was not her boyfriend, regardless of her plans to break up with him. It was wrong of her to allow for the hand holding, but

Still, her heart did a whole flip flop as she realized that he had been the one to hold her hand. Out of the corner of her eye she could tell he hadn’t done it completely intentionally, either.

When the golden arches were in view she would give his hand one long, gentle squeeze before releasing it. Holding hands with Nito, she decided, was nice.

She hung back a little from the crowd that they had gathered. Most of these people were Max’s friends and while Eva wasn’t completely unknown (selling potions on the DL would do that) she wasn’t exactly a part of that crowd.

And Anthony was a part of that crowd.

“Ice cream?” She offered Nito, watching as the group found seats and booths near one another.

There was another booth that was just behind the large group and would be behind Monique. “We could sit there? Less crowded.” Compromise. She could still turn and talk to her best friend, if she wanted, but Nito could get a bit of a break from all the people.

The following weeks weren't anything special for Klaus. He was a very busy wind mage. Gift practice, spell practice, History of Hunters, potions, helping Cassie with potions, etc, etc... the weeks flew by, and he only tagged along for the trip because it'd been a while since Joanna and him had had some alone time for romance together. It was impossible at school with everyone sticking their nose and their goddamn feet, just jumping into everyone else's business like they had any right to be there. Gossip bothered Klaus.
Heinrich was a nice kid, an okay roommate only a bit to loud and energetic sometimes, but he was good with his light games and sometimes they were interesting as well as entertaining. About his other two suitemates he didn't know much. Besides that they were both excellent suitemates and they never found anything to complain about besides Heinrich and Klaus' night talk being a bit too loud. Particularly because Klaus' laughter was pretty damn LOUD.

They went to the cinema along with Maximiliano, Monique, Eva and... Nito. Who was the last person Klaus had expected to find there. At the cinema, watching a Harry Potter movie.. nope, but Eva and him seemed to get along, what picked at his curiosity but since he wasn't a fan of other people getting into his own business, he wasn't going to do it himself and didn't even comment on it. Joanna did, but she whispered it to him once, and then let it go because Klaus had been clear on his views about gossip...

After the cinema they both separated from the other two, one?, couple/s. They went off to have lunch to a somewhat fancy restaurant and had their alone time together that they'd been waiting so long for. Klaus tried to pay for it but as always Joanna didn't let him, because she didn't think men should always pay, so to avoid any possible arguments that could ruin their day, the wind mage simply agreed to pay their own food each, and then everyone was happy.
After that they went off to but something together. They got complementary winter hats, Joanna got some nail polish, potion ingredients, a pin about respecting magical creatures and some labels for class. Klaus got some hair bands for potion class, because his long hair had the bad costume of attempting to get a taste of the potion and he didn't want it to burn or to end bald or something. He also got a pin of a smiley face with sharp teeth and another of a black cat's face for his hat. Potion ingredients, new shoes and a bracelet.
After shopping, they went off to get some coffee or if they could find it, bubble tea.

Sinclair blinked, hard, as Max(?) put his arm around him. The young mage had never actually talked to Max...so, he felt awfully awkward. The ferret, sensing Max before Sin did, ran down into Sinclair's pocket on his hoodie. "Ummm, Hi there, Max, right?" asked Sin.

Max led him to three others. Two girls and one guy. Sin didn't know any of their names. In silence, the group walked to a nearby McDonald's. Sinclair, however didn't like fast food so he didn't order anything.

Instead, he let Ceril play around on top of his head as Dot ran around on his jacket. Finally, near the end of the meal, Sinclair finally spoke up.

"So, this was nice and all, but..." the young mage scratched the back of his neck and laughed nervously, "Who are all of you?" Honestly, Sinclair was freaking out, completely. He knew they were in his grade or above, but he had no idea what their names were. Sinclair had never talked to any of them anyways.

Heinrich was bewildered by the town, for one he never planned to go. Second, and this was the biggest realization, was he had no idea how to act in Non magical towns. His life revolved around his magics, his gifts. Not using them or talking about plain things didn't come naturally as it had for The Tiny Sorceress, who seamlessly blended into the crowd. Heinrich was impressed with the way she talked to both Magics and Nones, able to keep the conversations going, and not letting any magic talk slip through. He would speak up, talking with her in the various shops, laughing playfully when she had to buy Kids clothes. He even found some clothes that he liked, A red "Assassins Creed" style jacket caught his eye. He hadn't personally played those types of video games -nor could he remember playing Any sort of video game to be honest- he tried to for it and some black winter pants to match with his usual gold coins, but was shocked when the cashier thought he was joking, saying to pay with Real money instead of some toy pirates gold. Confused and a little angry Heinrich would have to get his money exchanged at the nearest Magical ATM.

After doing so and quickly returning to the shop, he bought both and quickly left feeling too embarrassed and frustrated to stay any longer. Besides Anna seemed to be finishing up with her shopping there as well, luckily for him. "Sorry about that, i am just used to paying for everything with gold," he looks back to the shop then at a gold coin in his hands, "To think someone who Doesn't is definitely bizarre, i mean its Gold," deciding to wear the jacket then and there he put it on, taking off his old one and stuffing it in the bag. Hearing the Grumbles of the Small Sorceress he soon realized his own hunger growing, "Yeah, Food sounds like a good idea, then maybe we could go check out some of the magical supply shops around, If you don't mind coming with?"

Vivian was dressed for the trip to town, being somewhat colder than the school -most likely due to lack of magic charms- she had dressed in black velvet formal trench-coat, and some thick winter slacks, giving her a sort of business woman's look. Her silver hair was kept in a tight bun that was held together with a chopstick and her wand. During the excursions out to the town and the various shops Vivian was Unusually chipper, almost lively as she talked to Meghan.

They would talk about various topics none magical, and magical when appropriate, giving Meghan more views of Vivian amazement at the outside world and the possibilities for both Science and magic. "It was a topic most magically inclined choose to ignore in my opinion, i mean why would they use science? They have Magic to do with what they wish, but i feel that's where they are wrong," going off a tangent as they walked to the book store, "I mean, Science has its own principles and formulas that could potentially Strengthen Magical ones." Vivian's mind wild with the thoughts of trying to combine two Very different subjects, "though i must admit i do sound more like a mad scientist then i do a Mage, but the Human world is extremely fascinating, look how far they have come without the help of magic?"

Anna raised an eyebrow at Heinrich. "What's that?" She asked, reaching up and plucking the coin out of his hand before he could put it away. It was engraved differently to a loonie, and didn't share the same colouring as any other coin. She tried to bend it, even using her teeth, but it didn't give way. "Is this just pure gold?" She asked, a little bewildered herself. "I don't think it really counts as money, if it is. You can't really know how much gold is worth off the top of your head," she said, holding the coin back out to him after wiping it on her skirt.

She beamed up at him. "Sure, I'll come along," she said, looking around the street. Her eyes fell on a random non-sorcerer, likely waiting for someone outside a shop. A few chirpy questions later, and she had directions to a nearby fast food joint. "There's a MacDoh's pretty nearby," she said as she walked back towards the other student. "Here, follow me," she said, starting to walk down the street.

They weren't walking for very long until that big telltale shining sign popped into view, a giant memorial to fat folk and mighty meals. Anna's face lit up at the sight of it, picking up the pace as she walked in. She looked up at the backlit menu, face just as bright. "I'm getting a hamburger, cheese bites, and fries," she said, pointing at each item as she said it. She looked to Heinrich. "What about you?" She asked, not quite realising that he might not be too experienced with the restaurant.

Mia smiled. "Of course," she replied, slinging her messenger bag over her shoulder as they left the building. "What do you need-" She was interrupted as her foot caught on something. She teetered, and then the weight of her bag threw her over. She caught herself with her hands, wincing as the skin scraped off the pavement. "Fuck," she hissed, the first time she'd sworn in a while. She stumbled to her feet, looking at her grazed hands. They weren't bleeding, not really, just a few layers of skin taken off. "What was that?" She muttered, turning around.

She stared at what she had tripped over, and scoffed. A leg? How lazy could you be? If you're going to get rid of a mannequin, you can take it to a dump yard, or sell it to somebody. She peered into the alley, half smirking.

Her eyes widened, connecting with the glassy blue ones of another student's. She pulled her head away, not believing what she had seen. No, no way. She took a deep breath, and craned her neck back around.

A teenage sorcerer, murdered and brutalised, head further in like a rolled bowling ball. A huge cavity in his chest still seemed to bleed. It looked like his heart was still beating, laying beside him like a crude headstone, but it was nothing but a trick of the light and Mia's twirling, frantic, panicking mind. She knew his face, but not his name. Would she ever know it, now?

Her eyes trailed down to his torso, another gruelling sight to see. She could only hope that his death was painless, and that everything happened after his life was gone. She saw the H.

What was it? His initial? A lover's initial? A Roman numeral? Hell? Heaven? Hero? Human?

Suddenly, it all clicked.

Head sliced off. Heart pulled out. H.

Hunter.

She stumbled backwards a few steps. "Ishade. Ishade, we need to go, we need to leave..." she wheezed, reaching out and grabbing the fauna sorcerer incredibly tightly by the forearm, even though it burned her newly cut hands. "Don't look, don't look, ya Allah! We need to get a professor, right now, we need to..."

Ishade was shocked, to say the least whith Mia's reaction to whatever she'd seen. And he had to see it himself to undersand.
The view was... incredibly gruesome and disgusting, but that wasn't half of it. The color had completely drained from his face.
"T-he h... Hayato?" He furrowed his brow, staring. He was dead. Murdered and used as... oh god. Oh lord... he blinked as his fucking thoughts finally made jt back to his mind. He casted a camouflage spell quietly so the body wouldn't be found... yet. And followed Mia. "L-l-lets get a-a profess-sor..." he could barely speak, his heart pounding in his chest. They both rushed away.

Mia started off speed walking, but it wasn't too long before she was running out of sheer panic. There was no way to know if the attacker was still nearby. That thought alone was enough to push Mia to get out of there ten times faster than she would have without it. She gravitated towards where they had gotten off the buses. If there were no teachers, maybe an Orniormabichu would help...as much as one of them could.

As she got closer, she was glad to see an actual figure there. She was a little less glad when she saw who it actually. Not a teacher she had ever had, but a teacher that she definitely knew, from that sleeved arm. Professor Loray was pretty infamous when it came to scary teachers. Even still, she didn't hesitate to rush up. There was no way she was as scary as everyone said. She was still a teacher.

"Prof...professor," she panted, part panicking, part exhaustion from the running. She'd never been the fittest. "We saw a student, s-someone's attacked him," she said between pants, pointing off in the direction she came with a trembling hand, "someone's attacked him horribly, professor."
