Blood Handy

She nods softly at his words. She sits down in a chair and began to eat. The food was as he said wonderful. She wasn't a picky eater and tried a little of everything. It was amazing.

Back at her home, everything seemed quiet. Her home had some pictures of her father and her mother around on the walls. Her parents bedroom door was shut and she never opened the door after her father passed.

He smiled, then joined her at the table, sitting across from her. He knew she liked her space but didn't want to leave her alone or awkwardly far away in another seat. As he served himself a bowl of pumpkin soup, he glanced to her. "You could eat like this everyday you know. And you'd be safe after my Master arrives. . .If you worked here, that is. All I'd ask is you do as you're told when asked. You won't even be required to work everyday, just every once and awhile."

Red ignored the room that was locked, mainly out of respect for the owner of the house. She was a kind woman, and if she wanted something private, he had no excuse to mess with it. A couple of the pictures interested him, though, in a way it offered him a glimpse into her family and life. It mostly just struck his interest since Red honored his family more than anything else.

The pictures showed a happy family of three. Her father, her mother and her. She was much younger in most of the pictures but they were always so happy in them.

As she got older in the pictures her mother was no longer in them and the joy in her father' eyes had faded a little. Then the pictures stopped all together.

Cindy blinks at him as she pauses in taking another bite. "You are offering me a job?" She asks curiously then tilts her head. "Would your master be okay with a human like me? Not sure what i could offer to him..."

"Yes! As long as you stay out of the way and don't stop my Master's plans, everything should be fine. I'll introduce you as a loyal servant and it shouldn't be a problem." He took a small sip of pumpkin soup. "If you're not a servant, however, I can't guarantee you'll live to see tomorrow. Not because of myself, but my master is not a very patient
man. . .at all."

The younger Cindy honestly made him smile a little, she seemed really happy. Soon enough he went back to the living room and sat down, trying again to clear his mind. It was like every time he tried to calm himself down, something else came up that worked his nerves up again. Vicious cycle... but he didn't plan to let it get the better of him.

The home seemed quiet now. Even the scurrying of the vampires outside had quieted down.

Cindy stared at him a moment. It wasn't a very simple thing he was asking of her. "I do not mean to sound unappreciative of the offer but I need time to make a choice. My home is all I have left of my father..."

He gave a soft smile. "We can bring your home here, into the mansion. And no, not a replica. We can move the entire thing here if you wish. My master is a powerful demon, the best you'll ever lay eyes upon! If you serve under him, you'll be rewarded for sure, and not just with your life!"

Somehow the quiet disturbed him, but maybe it was just because he was in somebody else's home. And he didn't really have a reason to be there. Right now he only stayed because it didn't feel right to leave. To try and take his mind off of it he turned on the TV and found a show that looked somewhat interesting, but it didn't help to clear his thoughts. At this point, it didn't seem like anything would help with that.

How could anyone argue with such a reward? Yet part of her was holding back. Something didn't seem right about making such a choice.

She shakes her head a little. "I need a a little more time to consider....its a huge decision to make."

"It's alright. I'm sure you'll come around." He smiled, then poked a bit of meat onto his fork and ate it. "The more on our side the merrier." he said once he was finished. "Just please don't ask me to bring that shrimp along. . .My patience with him is thin enough already."

Soon enough he gave up. He turned the TV off and let the thoughts grow to the top of his mind. If there was nothing he could do to hold it off, why try? And there was no one else around, so if anything happened... still, something about just being in another person's house, especially while they weren't there, felt wrong.

Cindy pauses in her thinking about the decision she needed to make as he made the comment about the younger demon. "Why do you hate him so much?" She asks curiously.

He paused. "Well. . . I suppose it's because he disobeyed my orders. . .I told him to stay away because, well, I don't like people interfering with my plans. . .And my plan was to observe you, so. . ." He let out an annoyed huff. "I decided since you were my source of information, I had to protect you from any possible threats. Don't mistake that for some kind of love, human. I'm not that soft." He poked at the bites on his plate a bit. "I'm just not as strict as my master."

After a while of sitting in silence, he ended up turning the TV on again but turned it down that he could only hear voices, but not make out what they were saying. It was background noise now, nothing compared to how loud and prominent his thoughts were. Turning on the TV for background noise was probably just to soften the blow as he started to get a chill down his spine, just from his own 'imagination.'

Cindy watches the male curiously. "I doubt he would have harmed me. " she says then continues eating for a moment until she was full.

Once full she nods softly. "Haven't eaten that well in a long time." She yawns a little as exhaustion from the long day began to pull at her.

Sleep was rare for her. She usually only got about 4 or 5 hours every other day. She was too busy keeping the city running to focus on sleep for herself.

"Well, since you're already here, I might as well offer." He stood, wiping his mouth gently with a cloth. "I have extra bedrooms. Would you like one? I can wake you in the morning and teleport you back to your home in no time. We have nightgowns here, long ones. Don't worry, I'm not interested in any lewd displays. I'm not that kind of Demon."

Soon enough, Red's thoughts pulled him into a light sleep. It was light enough that any noise could wake him up, not that there was any noise at the moment. Even the vampires had stopped. As long as he wasn't having one of those ridiculous dreams, he'd be okay.

She blinks at his offer. Sleep did sound good. His comment about lewd things made her smile faintly. "That is very good to know considering I'm not that kind of human." She says.

Then she nods a little and moves to stand up. "Thank you for the offer of sleep. I appreciate it. It's been a few days since I slept last."

He returned the gentle smile, then extended his hand as he walked over to her. "Come with me then. I'll take you to the changing room. I'm sure you'll find a nightgown there you'll like. After that I'll escort you to bed. You'll have your own private bedroom. The bed will be softer than any bed you find outside here, for sure. You might not want to get up in the morning." He giggled softly after his last comment.
