Briefing Room

This room is the briefing room, attached to the command centre, the nerve centre of all Warden operations. The briefing room is small, fitting about 20 people in maximum. It has a projector and whiteboard, as well as several maps. This is where all mission briefings take place, and where characters will ask questions about the mission, and can plan amongst themselves the best course of action.

"Hello. Take a seat guys." He waited until they had all sat down. "Right, first op of the new year, first real op of our unit." The Commander stood in front of a whiteboard, with a projection of a map on it. "The loaction is Egypt, small compount on the east coast. The Suez canal." The board now showed a statlie image of the compound, surrounded by a village. The compound had a small dock, and several barges could be seen moored up. "The target is a man called Sherif, Ahmed Sherif. He's a big time drug lord in the region, grows the stuff in South America, and moves it through the Middle East, mostly into the EU and Russia. Some of it still gets used in the Middle East though. This guy has killed his way to the top of the food chain since The Fall, and employs locals as his militia and workforce. They aren't well trained or equipped, but there'll be plenty of them to make up for it. Estimates stand at about 150 to 200 of these guys, plus 10 or so ex-Egyptian military, acting as Sherif's body guards."

The image changed again, showing a 2D representation of the compound and village. "We have very little actual intel on what the compound looks like as our sat imagery is outdated, but this is what we do know. The HQ is to the south of the compound, with the barracks a little further south of it. This is the area you are most likely to find this fucker. The storehouses are to the north of the compound, and the main entrance is at the west. It is surrounded by a chainlink fence, with some watch towers."

"You guys still awake? Good. Now, objectives are as follows. Your primaries are to eliminate Sherif, and sabotage the dock facility. Take some C4 and blow it sky high. Secondaries are searching the HQ building for intel, destroying the coke in the stores and if possible the barges. Generally just sow destruction if you can. Miss Marit is a procurement specialist and will be accompanying you. Her job is to extract any valuable assets, such as money, supplies and equipment or vehicles. At this point we need anything we can get. She will be very useful if you need to get away quickly, or need to find any intel."

"The rules of engagement are as follows - around the compound there is a village. This village is full of non-combatants. You will NOT put their lives in danger or kill any of them. Inside the compound, you will also make sure you are killing armed people. The stores and dock area will most likely have civilians working in and around it. Remember, these people are not evil, this is their only source of income. They're basically slaves for Sherif. You will do your best not to kill them. Try and usher them away, or failing that fire your gun in the air as you're leaving. Get creative." He looked at the people gathered in front of him. "Sherif is a bad guy, he's carving out a large territory and we can catch him with his guard down here, while he visits this facility. We get him now, his seconds start fighting eachother, its game over for his organization. You get me? Now, any questions before we start planning the op?" @atepem @Littlemankitten @RooibosWithCake @Rollui

I listened to the briefing intently, keeping track of all the different variables that were going into this mission. I paid special attention to the dock and storehouse segments, knowing that such large amounts of drugs wont get anywhere by ship alone, and that meant there had to be lots of cargo trucks, which in the wardens situation, was always valuable. There might also be a cargo helicopter, but that might be wishing for to much, and I doubted anyone would know how to fly it, but it would be nice. I also kept track of the people around me, I've been in the wardens for a little while now, yet I still find myself working with people I don't know. I looked at they're demeanor, how they react to certain pieces of intel, their faces if I can see them, all while trying to seem like I'm paying attention to the presentation, which I was, but all the info I cared about was already said.

When my name is called, I would softly raise my hand, simply so people would know who I was. When it was time to ask questions I would ask "What should we expect this Sherif guy to look like?" if it wasn't already said, if it was, I would stay silent.

"Good question. Sherif is dark skinned and usually wears dark aviator sunglasses and a boonie hat. Other than that we haven't been able to get solid intel on his face nor a picture of him. Right now we lack intelligence gathering capacity, but we are working on it. He will have some form of ID on him, and it should be fairly obvious who's giving the orders. He likes to stay at the back nowadays."

I would nod at the answer, a bit perplexed on how we know his facial accessories and nothing else, but i don't press that, knowing the wardens intel situation. Instead, I will just cross my right leg over my life and then cross my arms and wait for everyone else to have their say.

Alain kept an ear out for the intel, leaning heavily on his chair with arms crossed. Seemed standard enough really; get in, shoot shoot, get out. And that cocaine storage seemed quite promising - a small pack of that could help a lot on the battlefield. The only thing he'd found suspect was that the data on the guy seemed a little off and very lacking. Taking an unsubtle look around, it seemed like he wasn't the only one who caught on.

When it seemed like nobody was going to speak up, he sighed. "Hey, boss man?" He raised a finger, not even bothering to detangle his arms. "What if the Sherif guy chooses that day as un convenient day to change the wardrobe?"

"Well then we improvise. Right now, our intel has only shown Sherif with a shawl over his face, his hat and his glasses. We're informed the shawl isn't always on, but the aviators and hat usually are. There's no reliable description of him, no pictures, and we've never seen his face. There may be photos in the HQ, or one of his subordinates might be able to point you in the right way with some... persuasion. It's a difficult job, no ones denying that. If you can't find him, level the place and bug out. At the very least we'll disrupt his organisation and might force him into the open."

Liam straightens his back and speaks from A dark corner of the room "what are our asset near the target? Do we know anybody that might know something about the compound or contacts that about the organization the sheriff works with"

"Assets are next to nothing. Our intel was gathered from informants from the CIA. They've infiltrated Sherif's cartel, but are powerless to stop it so we've stepped in. Apart from that we got nothing. You will be on your own out there. You'll be infiltrating via helo, which will then wait in Saudi for extract. It'll take a couple hours at least to call for the evac, so you won't have any air support or support to speak of. This'll be a tough op, but this is brick laying. When we take this guy down, there'll be a lot of hardware around for us to snatch once his seconds start fighting eachother."

Liam looks baffled and crosses his arms "So you want us to enter A compound with no idea of the enemie's strength, The layout of their base or even what our target really looks like" Liam scoff I guess we need to prepare now huh what equipment can you spare as well as a cash budget to make contact with the players in the area. I'm assuming this will be a long op is there a safe house already in place and how would communications with HQ be handled."

"We know the rough layout of the base, and there's 200+ militia in it. But yeah. Pretty much. The planning is up to you, you can go in straight away or you can scope it out for a few days. The team will need to decide on the course of action, im simply giving you the mission and the objectives. Once you've discussed the plan with your fellow Wardens, come to me with it and a full list of equipment and supplies needed."

"We need cash to make contacts with local groups, Find out if the sherrif has any friends or enemies also" Liam quirks his eyebrow in irritation "You haven't answered my question on communications to HQ we might need to run names through your database"

I listen casually to my fellow warden, he was quite the loud lot she thought, but in her field of work that was almost everyone. "Friends and enemies will be easy to find, pretty much anyone selling the same stuff as him in this area will be an enemy of his, and pretty much every criminal gang that likes the stuff with be a friend. The villagers will also be easy to find out. Chances are, they rely on him for economy."

"Communications will be via long range radios, relayed from you to our helicopter back to us. Near instant and available 24/7, as long as the weather holds. Backup will be a sat phone. Our database is piggybacking off the Saudis network so we have all their known names and contacts on file."

Liam nods at the woman "Yes we could get basic information from the villagers but more in depth info would require field work. The gangs would probably be a good place to learn more about the compound" Liam looks off thoughtfully "We could also enlist help from any insurgents from the village if we find a resistance movement or a gang who have basic morals"

" COMMANDER" Liam shouts standing from his seat "What is the status of our op budget and of any possible safe house, I don't know how you take this op so lightly but frankly I don't care" Liam takes his seat and sighs "Our live are at stake here and any information or assets that we can take into account now would increases our chances of success" "and of our survival" Liam say quietly

"Sit you're ass down. The budget is whatever the damn hell you need. We haven't got any safe houses in the area. You are all the best in your fields, some of the best warriors this world has. I expect you to figure out how to tackle this operation, and what you need to do it. No, we don't have the resources other more established organisations would have, nor the infrastructure. We are new, but we will do this. If you wanted easy you came to the wrong place." The commander snaps back sternly, staring at the man.

Liam crosses his arms and stares the commander in the eye "I'm already sitting" he thinks to himself

Alain hummed, pensive and a little amused. This Liam character was a real upstart - must be new then. "Improvisation is always a good plan, rookie." He said offhandedly with a shrug. "I dare say you're making the operation too complicated than is necessary."

He gestured to the map. "If we use the northern forest as cover and enter through the docks, we could stealth the shit out of this." He raised two fingers and made clicking noises to two separate directions. "Then we split. Some to secure the loot, some to eliminate the target."

He paused and added as a taunting afterthought. "We're all capable of being quiet and stealthy here, oui?"

Liam looks shocked "What the six of us going against 200+ soldiers and thats just an estimation in a compound miles long to look for someone we barely know any information about or how he actually looks like" " Yeah we could totally just stealth the shit this" Liam says dryly "And to top it off some of the members in this team have no skills in stealth or weaponry Yeah" Liam throws his hand up "Lets just Stealth the shitout of this"
