"Perhaps that is one thing humans and flowers have in common. Some people are even just as lovely as flowers,"
Guy said, appearing behind Lyn and Kokkoro. After he'd gathered his new weapons -- not quite the same sword he was familiar with back home, but it should be able to work just as well all the same -- and listening to the mysterious voice's guidance, the blonde young man made his way toward Hilo Rao on a complete whim, before laying eyes upon two other people who looked just as lost as he did, if not on the outside then internally. "And just as people, I'm sure the flowers would enjoy a peaceful tune," he continued, gazing over at Kokkoro with an open smile, before clearing his throat.

"My apologies. I didn't expect to bump into anyone else here, but it's good to find some company to venture with. My name is Guy. Guy Cecil. A fortuitous happenstance to stumble upon you two, given what I can assume to be our shared experiences," he said in a friendly manner to the girls, giving a slight wave.

"I understand how you feel, Miss. Saplings or full blooms, flowers are fragile yet lovely."

Kokkoro turns to the woman.

"My name is Kokkoro, I am an elf. I believe you are Magda? You need not worry about your flowers around me, fufufu. If you wish for us to be gentle to them, I will be their friend."

Kokkoro looks around at the flowers.

"Lady Magda, will it be alright for me to sing a little tune for the flowers? I occasionally do that to my own plants."

Kokkoro then turns to Lyn.

"I apologise for not noticing you earlier. It appears that you have wound up here, much like me. Pleased to meet you as well, Lady Lyn."

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Kokkoro." Lyn smiled to Kokkoro, taking a look around her surroundings and then back to her. "From a glance, this place doesn't seem too different from my home of Sacae... Open plains with flowers around. Although I don't remember a Volcano..."

Even her immortal will felt threaten -- she felt weaker and slower. Enough perhaps to hold her own against humans, but nothing more besides that. Her muscled armor, as glorious as ever, even felt slightly dim in its capabilities. Frowning, the heroine shook her head after the teleportation, armed with this Knight's Sword and Radiant Shield.

"You, lizardkin!" she cried out dramatically in the foul marshes of the North, hellbent on getting to the Daka Tuss Shrine. "I am Diana Themyscira, daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons! I have crushed a mad God in my hands, and as protector of humanity I demand you to step aside! I, and my new compatriots with me, wish to have no quarrel with you."

Upon stating that last statement, Wonder Woman briefly looked behind her, realizing nobody decided to initially follow a six-foot Greek heroine clad in classical muscle armor and running across the plains of Hyrule like a madman.

"...Perhaps just me, then."

For a moment, a tinge of worry entered into Jin's soul as he worried if the shift was natural or if it was a trap of some kind. Yet he calmed himself with the thought that, if the voice had wanted his death, it wouldn't have waited for him to use the tablet. It would have struck while he was asleep, not taken its time like this. Thus, he simply closed his eyes and accepted the teleportation, awaiting its results...

Underneath the shade of his straw hat, his eyes opened once again as the soothing sound of a waterfall's rushing current assaulted his mind. It seemed he was still alive, standing before one of the shrines the voice mentioned... and now surrounded by others. His dominant hand rested near the grip of his new blade, ready in case they were hostile, but for now, he simply took in their appearances. All of them... well, to be polite, seemed like rather strange beings. However, one of them, a woman with hair of a soft red shade at least seemed to dress in a similar fashion to the gaijin who had begun appearing in Japan, and another with strange aquatic blue seemed to be some sort of priestess - comforting sights despite their odd hair colors.

"You are the others the voice speak to then?" He didn't expect any of them in particular to answer; only hoping to gauge their reactions and see if they were sensible, "If so, you may call me Jin. It seems we are fated to travel together, our blades as one."

Should Magda give the green light to sing to her flowers, Kokkoro would do just that in a little hum.

"If you believe that the flowers will enjoy a little tune, Master Guy, I suppose I shall.

Day One

“Reawakening”

---

It comes for you without warning. You’re perhaps out with friends, or home alone, possibly in the middle of a fight, or even asleep. It doesn’t care. It still comes to you, no matter what you’re doing. And the second it arrives, you’re helpless to it.

It starts with mild annoyance. You remember something you dislike, and it puts you into a bad mood. A smell that makes you nauseous, an animal that you find obnoxious, a food that didn’t taste good…it popped into your head and wouldn’t leave. That doesn’t seem odd at all, everyone gets intrusive thoughts from time to time. But then, it starts to expand and fester. Other things come to mind-people who rubbed you the wrong way, a bad experience you’ve been unable to move on from, a nightmare that still haunts you to this day. Your heart beats faster. Your breath gets heavier. You feel more than annoyed now; you may feel sad, ashamed, frightened, angry, or some other negative emotion. But whatever you feel, it’s strong. It won’t go away. But you don’t care. You can’t! Your feelings have taken you over, pushing all rational thought aside.

And then...then it gets worse. You remember something that you hate, more than anything in the World. What is it? What do you hate? Do you have an arch nemesis that drives you to the brink of madness? Does the injustice and cruelty of the world make you sick to your stomach? Everyone hates something, no matter how good a person they are. There is always hatred to be exploited and shaped into a lethal weapon, one that can turn the most well-intentioned into a complete monster. And that is it: hatred found you, and it came for you, and you were now at its complete mercy. Hatred fills your mind, your body, your soul. Hatred for this one thing grows into hatred for many things, then hatred for everything...and then it becomes nothing but pure hatred. You can’t hate anything in particular now, because all you can do it hate. Hate indiscriminately, hate irrationally, no other emotion exists but hatred. All you want to do is destroy what you hate. Maybe you lash out at someone nearby, or try to destroy the room you’re in, or toss violently in your sleep. Whatever it is you do, though, it doesn’t last long. In a matter of seconds, your vision goes black, and you lose consciousness. All that hatred is far too much for you to handle.

To an outsider, they see something you do not. A toxic vortex of black and pink sludge spirals around you like a tornado, trapping you into an orb and closing in on itself. It takes less than half a minute for this to happen, and then...you’re gone.

---

Knock, knock.

The door opens, and she smiles at her visitor. “Good morning! How are you today?”

She’s so sunny and bright, it’s impossible to tell how she really feels, but he has a keen eye. The bags under her eyes are visible underneath the makeup. He knows she probably isn’t really all that happy. How could she be? She’s probably nervous, afraid that everything will go wrong. Considering the situation they’re in, though...that doesn’t surprise him. Hell, he’s a little nervous, too. But he’s better at hiding it.

“Mornin’. Sleep well?” He knows the truth, and he knows she’s going to lie.

She nods, smile not leaving her face. “Uh-huh! All rested up for the big day!”

He still can’t believe what an amazing liar she is. Smiling in the face of everything going wrong, that’s an art form she’s perfected better than anyone, even the people he knew. And considering the people he knew, that said something. But considering who she was, it made sense that she would be good at that.

“I’d ask you if you slept well, but...you know.”

He nods, giving her a small smile to help her feel at ease. “Yeah. I know. But enough chit chat.” He steps to the side, as if to escort her outside. “You ready?”

“...no.”

Eh? “Oh. Well, uh…” Shit, that threw him off. She usually wasn’t honest like that, even alone. “I mean…” He rubs the back of his neck. Comfort was NOT his strong suit. “If you feel, I dunno, weird about all this, I, uh, am here and, uh-"

“Oh! No no, you misunderstand, dear.” She blushes in embarrassment, and he gets a bit flustered. He’s not attracted to her at all in that way...but damn, she’s beautiful. “I’m not going to meet them.”

“What? Why?”

Her smile falters ever so slightly, and she shifts her weight awkwardly, fiddling with the hem of her dress. “I...I had a dream, last night. There’s something I need to do...alone.”

He raises his eyebrows, but says nothing. He gets it. She has to be vague, or he’ll listen in and ruin everything. His spies are everywhere, as persistent as flies and every bit as obnoxious. “...Sure thing. You sure you’ll be fine on your own?”

She smiles, a genuine one, and that alone reassures him before her words do. “We both know I’ve handled far worse,” she replies.

He nods. “‘Kay, then. Take care. ....and, uh, stay safe, too, yeah? Last thing we need is you dying on us.”

She giggles. That’s fine by him; he doesn’t want her to know he’s being serious. “I’ll be fine. I promise! Keep everybody safe for me until I get back, okay?”

“Yeah.” He takes a deep breath, though he doesn’t need it. Turning his heel, he heads off, down the road to his destination. He doesn’t know where she’s going, but he hopes she stays safe. To lose her now, after everything they’d worked for...it could ruin jeopardize it all. But he put his concern out of his mind for now. There was something far greater on his mind.

Something that was happening right this second.

Hey…

…

Can you hear me?

……………..

Hello? Please, I need you to hear me.

…………………………..

Wake up. Please, wake up. We don’t have much time.

...huh?

You open your eyes, and see nothing but blue. Your eyes adjust within the next few seconds, though, and you realize you’re staring up at a square ceiling, with blue lights shining down on you.

Ddd1unMUQAATw3g

You’re not exhausted or groggy; in fact, it feels as though you’ve just woken up from a refreshing night of sleep.

Good, you’re awake. I was getting a little worried there… What is this…? There’s a voice in your head, talking to you as if it’s your conscience. You can’t make out anything discernable about it; it feels otherworldly. Divine, even. And try as you may (if you try at all that is), you can’t talk with it. It seems this little conversation is one-sided. Go ahead and get up...but try not to get up too fast.

It’s not like you can just lay here forever, right? You sit up, but as you do, you feel a dull pain somewhere in your body. Perhaps on your shoulder, your neck, your back...possibly even in multiple places at once. But that pain, wherever it is, vanishes in an instant, and touching or inspecting the area reveals no wounds or scars. In fact, you feel energized! I mean, you did just wake up from a nap, right?

...right?

But wait...you’re not in your bed. Where are you? Well, a quick scan on your surroundings reveals that you’re sitting on a square made of some sort of beige marble. Surrounding the square are four blue walls of some sort of...you’re not sure. Energy, maybe? It’s somewhat see-through, though, so you can see you’re in some sort of larger room...alone.

zelda-breath-of-the-wild-schreine-1.jpg

Don’t be afraid to touch that energy wall. The voice that’s been talking to you pops into your head again, as if knowing what you may be thinking. It’s harmless, and honestly? It's getting in your way.

Maybe you hesitate, or maybe you eagerly touch the wall. No matter when or how you do it, the second your fingertip touches the wall, it breaks away all around you, becoming floating shards of energy that fly outwards before vanishing into thin air.

MmU1Nzg2NjRlNSMvYUQxenJydUJsV1ozUHVFWWUzcmY2Wmxja1VRPS9maXQtaW4vNzYweDAvZmlsdGVyczpub191cHNjYWxlKCk6cXVhbGl0eSg4MCk6bm9fdXBzY2FsZSgpOmZvcm1hdChqcGVnKS9odHRwOi8vaW1hZ2VzLm1pYy5jb20vb3pzanNzZXljejE4MzRxdHE5bDFjdnFwYnRudHhtejFtejVqb2Nsa3RmZnF5d2FidjN4OGNoZGZkZ2tqbjFlaS5naWY.gif

Now you can get a better look at this place you’re in.

BotW_Korsh_O%27hu_Shrine_Interior.jpg

It’s a rather large room, surrounded by a pool of clear water on both sides, with marble walls adorned with glowing blue constellations. Down the steps in front of you is a platform with a treasure chest, and even further down is a strange cylinder.

Don’t worry about that cylinder for now. All it’ll do is take you outside, and some of you might not want to do that.

Wait...some of you? Weird...you’re completely alone in this room! Could it be this voice is communicating with more people than just you? God, this is all so confusing... Look, just focus on that treasure chest. It has everything you need, and once you open it, I’ll let you know what to do next. Just make sure you hurry...we have a lot of work to do.

Well...it's not like you have any more options here. Might as well humor this voice of yours...whoever it is.

Agent 47
47 woke up and was met with blue lights. The ICA Agent wasn't a very talkative individual, yet, his mind raced through the possibilities of where he was. Observing every bit of his surroundings to the last detail that he deemed relevant to what he needed to get out. He stood up slowly as his eyes adjusted to the light. Noticing a dull pain at the back of his head, he moves his hand there. It was only met by the usual barcode on his bald head. Then there was that voice again, that voice in his head. He couldn't precisely identify who it was.
The hitman stood up and walked neutrally towards the barrier, his expression showing almost no signs of emotions besides a neutral tone. Yet, he was on his guard. He moved a hand towards the barrier, the barrier shattered on touch. It gave him more room to walk and to investigate. Agent 47 moved further into the larger hall, alone. He already noted that he was unarmed. His eyes quickly scanning his surroundings. There was water in the room, but where it came from was unknown to him. He walked towards the chest after hearing the voice again. Taking a careful look at it to be certain it wasn't a trap. After deeming it safe to open, 47 opens the chest and looks at the contents inside.

General Grievous
The Kaleesh General opened his eyes and was greeted by blue lights. He listened to the voice and tried to speak to it. But whoever was speaking to him seemed to either not hearing him or ignored him. He stood up and walked towards the barrier. As he touched it, it simply shattered. No effort needed. Grievous heard the voice again. He walked towards the chest and opened it after observing it carefully. He looked inside the chest to see what its contents were.

Opening the chests, everyone would find a set of weapons inside, which varied from person to person. You would also find a strange kite type object, as well as an odd rectangular item. It was made of the same metal you could see around the room, but incredibly lightweight. Those familiar with technology would recognize it as some sort of smart tablet.

Good! You guys listened. Thanks. If you all ran off unarmed...we'd have serious issues here. Okay, let me give you a quick rundown of everything in here. First of all, weapons. Self-explanatory, use them to fight enemies. We have a LOT of them here. But don't worry! Chances are you won't meet that many of them...maybe. Probably.

...let's, uh, move on.

BotW_Paraglider_Icon.png

That kite? It's known as a Paraglider. Super easy to use, and super useful around here. Just jump off a large height, hold onto that baby, and WHOOSH! you'll land safe and sound, with no broken bones...granted you don't let go, of course.

BotW_Sheikah_Slate_Icon.png

And finally, that tablet is what we call a Sheikah Slate. It's a powerful piece of ancient Sheikah technology. You can use it to travel anywhere with a blue marker, or to take pictures. You can also use runes on it...though you guys can only use Remote Bombs. Sorry!

Okay, now look at the screen on your Sheikah Slate. Turn it on, and you should be on the Map page. Sure enough, pressing a button on the slate reveals a huge map.

Zelda_Breath_of_the_Wild_all_shrines_map_Champions_Ballad_DLC.0.jpg

This is Hyrule, the kingdom you've been pulled into from your homes. We want to get you guys back home as soon as we can, but it's a little tricky to keep everyone together unless you're, well, together. So! We have a meeting place set up for all of you in Kakariko Village, to the West of your map. Usually, there are two shrines right there, but...

On the map, you notice that the two shrines right at Kakariko Village, Ta'Loh Naeg and Lakna Rokee, are orange instead of blue. ...they're currently unavailable. But that's okay! You can travel to any of the four shrines North, South, East, or West of Kakariko, and get there before sundown. Then, you can all speak to the village elder, Impa, and she can tell you all more. I have to go soon, but I can give you some tips on where to go:

North is the Daka Tuss Shrine. It's up on the border of Lanayru and Necluda, located in the marshes there. Not too bad, there's really only a small climb to worry about. There may also be Lizalfos hanging around, so be careful.

South is Ha Dahamar. That one's probably the best place to go if you want an easy time. There's a little stable there, and a road straight up to Kakariko Village. There's also someone waiting for you there-he was in a shrine, too, but woke up a bit earlier due to his, uh...physique.

East is Dow Na'Eh. That one's located behind a waterfall, in a cave. You'll peobably use your Paraglider there, since the Lanayru Promenade flooded a few years ago. But be warned, a few monsters like to set up camp over there.

And finally, West is Hila Rao. The roughest part is starting out, since you'll meet Magda, and...uh...yeah. Try not to upset her, and then it's a nice and easy uphill trek to Kakariko. And like I said, you'll meet up with Impa this evening, and go from there.

Okay, I think that's everything. Tap on the shrine you want to go to, then you'll be transported there, no problem. Good luck, everyone. I wish I could do more for you...

And, just like that, the voice is gone.

(Please bold your choice!)

Both 47 and Grievous took the contents out of the chest. Both of them managed to use the stone slate and noticed the map. Putting their weapons where they fit. Both went to the North.

Anyone heading to the Daka Tuss Shrine would find themselves on a small island in the middle of some marshland. The land you were on was bare, save for a few small trees, and your Sheikah Slate pointed you in the direction of a nearby waterfall. Like the voice mentioned, you could see strange lizard-like creatures stalking about. Could these be the Lizalfos?
A look of concern soon dawned on Wonder Woman's face.

Not so much for the wide arrange of vagabonds, heroes, villains and commonfolk she found herself surrounded by. When you have fought a God and seen otherworldly elements roaming Earth you tend to build a resistance to these sort of experiences. "...Perhaps just me, then."
Both Grievous and 47 founds themselves in a swampland and a woman sprinting forwards. Grievous was the first one to go after her, while 47 seemed to somewhat take his time. "Not entirely, woman." the Kaleesh cyborg answered to Wonder Woman. Her armor seemed to be somewhat primitive compared to that of the droid army of the CIS and the clone army of the Republic. Regardless, she seemed to be one of the people here. Only one of the few. Though, he had the slight suspicion that this woman was a Jedi.

Agent 47 arrived not all too short afterwards in what seemed to be an expensive suit. He came to note that he didn't had his usual equipment with him. The use of a blade was a bit unusual for him. The woman he noticed seemed to be somewhat of Greek origins as well as wearing very outdated armor, but he couldn't identify the cyborg. He didn't seem to be from Earth at all. And while he was able to work on his own, there was something that said to him in a way to stick with a group.

"Well then, should we encounter any sort of danger, I'll be sure to count on you. Please take good care of me!" Guy said eagerly with a small wink toward Lyn, holding up two fingers as though to make a small peace sign, before lowering his hand just as quickly. Of course, in all honesty, he didn't anticipate to need to be carried around, but of course, like so long ago, it was nice to have allies beside you. There was little doubt that the girl before him was likely at least some sort of skilled with weapons, and more than that, who knew what the little elf girl here was capable of?

One could only hope she was more pleasant than Anise, at least.

If nothing else, her voice was, at least.

As everyone began selecting shrines, you would begin to float in the air, body fading as you vanished. Only seconds later, you would arrive in your location, all items with you as you did so. You'd feel fine though...maybe a bit tingly.

Azel blinked and took a moment to make sure everything was as it should be, and luckily it was. He turned to assess those with him. An odd bunch it seemed, but if they were all stuck here together then hopefully they could all get home.

"Yes, it seems so. I am Azel, Azel Halgal." Azel responded to Jin.

"Compared to where I live, the scenery is most similiar. Then again, the lands of Astrum have many different sights - greenery, beaches and even snowy mountain caps, just to name a few. Landsol - the area I currently reside in - is mostly greenery surrounding a large town."

Kokkoro then turns to Guy.

"Good to meet you as well, Master Guy. Perhaps if we are to move forward, moving forward in a well-balanced group is most ideal."

Should Magda give the green light to sing to her flowers, Kokkoro would do just that in a little hum.

"If you believe that the flowers will enjoy a little tune, Master Guy, I suppose I shall.

A simple nod was paid Yuuki's way as well, accepting his acknowledgement. An individual of few words was just as welcomed as one of endless prose; if Jin was honest, it was a refreshing change from past companions even if he did care for them. As the other man spoke, he listened respectfully before nodding and taking a look around the cave as well. Besides the strange temple they had arrived at, the only thing that caught his eye as unusual were the rocks that seemed larger than simple debris, as if they covered something of value...

Recalling the voice's words, the ronin pulled out the strange device called a Sheikah Slate once again and flicked through the options. He was beginning to get the hang of it, and now, he hunted for a specific option in it, the bombs that had been mentioned by the voice. Once he found it and figured out how to summon one, he would place it by the large rocks and move a short distance away to be safe before blowing them to see what laid underneath, "If you all would be so kind to stay back for safety, please do so."

SHOVEL KNIGHT and THE DRIFTER
- PROLOGUE -

“Strugglers”

There is no greater force that casts a wayward soul outwards than determination. To feel that there is purpose within your steps, knowing that each trial will bring one closer to what they seek. You could say that sparks more passion out of an aspiring adventure than just the prospect of treasure and exploration alone.

To some, this may create an image of young adventurers still in their prime, rising from the still once more to face down a cruel and terrible fate that has fallen upon him and those he loves. But he moves on, like an old and trusty shovel, digging deeper into the flesh of the Earth to save their heart - to save her.

Or, maybe this determination takes on the form of a lone and grim drifter, stumbling in and out phases of pain and conflict seeking a cure to all that ails them. But, to that end, there may be no rest in sight. Each battle tears away at their weary soul, their legs buckle and bend beneath the weight of the world on their shoulders. Relief will only come when they’re cured, or when they close their eyes for good.

That was a pretty verbose analogy.

But, it’s true. You two have work to do.

92e88bcb59cea5da423d278300958ef7.png

The blistering summer heat did nothing to halt the knight’s trek down the dusty path across the Plains of Passage, the ground beneath him shuddering with each deft step and rustle of his bright-blue armor. The sun was shining overhead, giving the brightly-colored plains their well-deserved nourishment, but it also cast a shadow of that small, hopeful traveler waddling down the plains with a cerulean Shovel Blade hoisted over his pauldron.

The towering, sickly-green structure that was once Plague Knight's Expladotorium began to crumble and shrink into the horizon as Shovel Knight made distance. The shovelrous warrior halted, turning to face the grotesque structure with great satisfaction.

f903ccb5a9a23d2376a0537d270424f7.png

Three down, five to go. Hah, you may be a scientist, Plague Knight, but you’re no. . .” Shovel Knight boasted to himself, rubbing his backside. It was almost completely singed by alchemical fire. It's still smoking, actually. “. . .warrior. Tch, I should've payed more heed to dodging!” It’s been three days since the blue burrower had come out of his long retirement. The Order of No Quarter may choke the land of its resources and threaten the welfare of its people, but none of their atrocities were enough to dismay the hopeful knight from his mission - to breach that blackened citadel that loomed over the horizon, cursing the lands with it’s wretched presence;

The Tower of Fate.

The home of the Enchantress, and the ultimate destination of the weary journey. With the first three members of the Order vanquished, there was far more challenges to be had, but not an ounce of of the knight’s body questioned his purpose. He was determined to end a plague that had been brought unto himself, the land and it’s innocent people, even if it meant he’d have to burrow all the way to the very core of the Earth. All the motivation he needed was summed up in a simple;

I must keep going.

By the code of Shovelry, it will be done. But, to that end, he'd need the tools and weapons to do so, and those luxuries come at a price of gold.

A small twinkle in a pile of dirt nearby caught the knight's attention, prompting him to draw forth the righteous spade. Unless his vision betrayed him, he thought he'd just seen the twinkle of some valuable gems embedded within the earth. "Phew, this should be enough to afford another one of those relics. Finally! Chester's prices are pretty ridiculous. . ."

With his goal reinstated, Shovel Knight ran forward and brought the shovel down into the pile of dirt, furiously digging away. Curiously, no gems spewed forth from the pile as the knight dug away. "O, curse you, dirt pile! I need that Alchemy Coin!" Shovel Knight cursed the inanimate pile of soil, furiously driving his shovel deep into the Earth to root forth the gems.

CLUNK!

"W-woah!" Shovel Knight shuttered from the impact of the spade hitting something metal. He swiftly retreated from the pile, expecting an explosion or some other horrific machine to lurch forth from the soil. Fortunately, that wasn't the case. Shovel Knight cautiously approached, peering into the hole.

4c230598b257ff3baebfcee509fe6518.png

Within the small hole that Shovel Knight had burrowed was a small, metallic object embedded within the dirt. From where the knight looked down, it was shaped like an even-sided diamond, with a large handle protruding from its center. Thin neon lights ran along its sides and outlined its centerpiece.

"What. . .is this?" Shovel Knight questioned to himself, placing the shovel blade on the ground and leaning forward to get a better look at the mysterious object. It looked quite clean for being completely buried in soil - in fact, based on how fresh the metal looked, it appears that it hasn't been there too long. It was of no machination or make that the adventurer was familiar with, either.

b5664003b5660264ef958a7bf6f3149c.png

Hrm. . .perhaps Chester would be interested in this contraption - it must fetch some kind of price with him. I'll need as much gold as I can get for food and equipment, after all. . .

Shovel Knight rubbed his helmet in wonderment, before reaching his hand down and gripping the handle in the diamond's center. Overestimating the amount of force needed to open the capsule, Shovel Knight yanked upwards and sent himself flopping onto his singed backside like a Troupple fish, the capsule itself easily sliding open with a soft hiss. Cool mist escaped the clean innards of the machine, revealing an absolutely incandescent gem encased within a small glass chamber. It hums with a bright neon light, shaped into a perfect diamond much like it's container.

Illuminant, beautifully carved. It was the product of something far beyond the scope of any crafter within the Valley. Shovel Knight scrambled up to his feet to look upon the encased gem.

That. . .that must be worth thousands in gold alone.

. . .Shield Knight would want something like that as a gift.

Yes. . .she would. Perhaps I could. . .

An uncontrollable impulse pushed the knight forward as he reached a hand out into the small opening within the glass.

SHWING!

"--Huh?!"

The knight's head spun at the sound of hardlight slicing the air. Guided by reflex, he swept back away from the glistening module, which promptly vanished from it's container as the extended machine was sliced in two by an unseen assailant. Faded after-images of some figure hung in the air with neon colors, tracking the movement of the attacker. The after-images vanished and appeared again, drifting towards the dazed knight at violent speeds. A glistening blue sword was clearly seen gripped in the hands of the after-images, raised upwards in preparation for a downward slash.

Shovel Knight was smaller and quicker, however. The knight rolled to the side of the slash, swinging his shovel upwards in a parrying strike, which collided with the blade and sent it careening away cleaving the adventurer's head off his shoulders.

The knight stood as tall as he could, raising his shovel up and daringly pointing it towards the challenger, who now stood in front of the destroyed machine with his back facing his target.

2e4f2ca4333c462ae4c643d4771792b9.png

"Halt! You won't be getting in another free strike like that, stranger! Show yourself!"

". . ."

The stranger turned.

0eabf1b21d276c9d71670cd8641358ee.png

A much taller figure than Shovel Knight, wrapped in worn cloaks and tattered wear of the wasteland. Pieces of lost technology decorated his belt and gauntlets, including the brilliant sword clutched in his hand that glistened like it was made of pure light, and a small handgun holstered on his belt. The entirety of the stranger's body was hidden by it's cobbled outfit, save for the pair of black eyes on sickly blue skin that peered out from between his helmet and scarf.

5174988d8ed8289e219d233eeae1e882.png

"If you're with the Order, you'll find I'm not in the mood for another fight, but I'm not going to back down from one either. Step aside!"

The stranger spoke no words, looking at the shattered Module container with contempt.

"Was that machine yours?" Shovel Knight sternly questioned, motioning to the now-broken machine.

The stranger shook his head.

"Why did you attack me, then? Do you need the gem more than I do?" Shovel Knight pondered, lowering his blade slightly and tilting his head. Nothing about this fellow looked very friendly, but more peculiarly, none of him looked very familiar. Much like the machine burrowed beneath the dirt, this stranger was not from anywhere that the well-traveled adventurer was familiar with.

He doesn't look like he belongs here, and judging by his weak stance, he's not exactly up for a battle.

The stranger began his approach without any other gestures, stopping in front of the machine and taking a knee to inspect the damage, planting his blade into the dirt. He was grim and solemn, eyes sunken and cursed from some kind of dire mistake. Without any provocation from Shovel Knight, who stood nearby and watched the stranger work, he clutched his chest and keeled over.

cough, cough, cough

0c14b8bc2ea4f14b6554ea5f0059b995.png

A hoarse coughing escaped the strangers lips, droplets of bright red blood spewing out from behind his scarf and staining the green grass. The stranger's coughing fit lasted for a few agonizing seconds, as he held his chest and shuddered, gasping for a few breaths of air after the fit. The stranger nonchalantly lifted his scarf back over his face and continued inspecting the machine.

Shovel Knight, on the other hand, quickly approached with a concerned waddle. "Did I wound you? I didn't know that the shovel was able to. . .there's a village with a doctor and an inn not too far from here, if you need me to--"

RRRRRRUMMBLE!

A wealth of bright light spilled forth from beneath the machine, buckling the surrounding Earth and causing it to shatter under the weight of what felt like an earthquake. The stranger easily lost his balance, stumbling into the machine and gripping on to it, eyes visibly widening with shock. Shovel Knight seemed to react just as well, leaping away from the cracking Earth but failing to escape before it began to drain down like a sink-hole.

Shovel Knight looked back to witness the stranger being completely consumed by the bright light, vanishing beneath the tide of rippling air save for a single hand that reached out for nothing. The little hero hesitated, stepping away from the ominous glow and lifting his head upwards to witness the Tower of Fate looking back at him from the imposing horizon.

". . .I. . ."

- S A V E H I M -

There is a curse to goodness.

Shovel Knight broke into a fill sprint, leaping across the shards of earth and bounding directly into the pillar of light, reaching out to clasp the stranger's vanishing hand. As much as he tried to yank the traveler out from the encroaching light, he found his senses dulling beneath the brightness. Ears ringing, eyes blinded by the glow, Shovel Knight took the wrong step and fell unto the pillar of light.

The light captured the two of them and quickly faded back into the depths.

They were gone.

As everyone began selecting shrines, you would begin to float in the air, body fading as you vanished. Only seconds later, you would arrive in your location, all items with you as you did so. You'd feel fine though...maybe a bit tingly.

-Nadeshiko & Ellie Prologue-
"Camping Trip Gone Wrong ~ Explosive Annoyance"

It was spring season at last. After a hectic Christmas break and with school starting up in a week, there was no way she was going back to school without trying out a solo run by herself. Nadeshiko Kagamihara simply followed the advice from her friend Shimarin, got her camping gear prepped, and went to the camping spot where she first met her.

With a few wrong turns here and there while on her bicycle, she finally arrived at her destination just as it was getting dark. Thankfully it wasn't a particularly popular spot to camp, being able to pay for the night at the check-in office. Switching on her lamp as she settled by the lakeshore, Nadeshiko went to work on setting up her tent and her cooking essentials. Maybe before she went and slept for the night, she would make herself beef stew with the hot pot gear she had. A huge step up from the first instant noodles she had at this spot with Rin.

With all that mind as she finished up setting up her camping spot, she looked over to see the camping area's landmark over in the horizon.

42d563175184464728a8fe5828846c69.jpg

❝ Wow... it really does look pretty at night. ❞ She mumbled in awe. She's seen it before, but she couldn't ignore how nice the view was from her spot. Fishing around for her phone in her bag, she opens the camera app to take a photo of Mount Fuji, and hurries to send it to the chatroom that she and her high school friends were on.

That's when it hit her.

She knew that she wanted to try camping solo for once but... how come she disliked it all of a sudden? Maybe she's gotten so used to camping with her friend so much, that she felt like they should be here right now. More than anything, she wanted them to be here with her, enjoying this experience together. Then it hit her again. She couldn't understand why, but she hated them for not being here. Furthermore, she somehow felt hatred towards Rin for even helping her get set up for a solo camping run.

Why? Why was she even thinking like this? A part of her knew it was wrong to think like that, but another part wanted to justify it. In all of the self-confusion, she passed out on her camping chair.

-----
This annoyed her. This annoyed Ellie, otherwise known as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, so much. It was something she had to do, but it annoyed her. Most likely because from what she heard from Colossus, that dumbass Deadpool got himself in an extremely bad spot again, and that they had to clean up the mess that he definitely created for himself.

So here she was, getting suited up and ready to essentially babysit this grown man before he creates even more trouble. As if to further prove the point, she heard her phone go off. Some incoherent messages from the man of the hour. Mostly consisting of "I TOTALLY got this under control" and "i don't need help, even if it's just the two of you in that mansion!"

❝ Ugh... ❞ Even after all that trouble with Ajax, she couldn't help but find this trait of his completely annoying. The fact that it's always Deadpool's mess that she and Colossus had to clean up, she hated it so much. She couldn't even tell what it was that he was trying to do this time by himself, but she figured that it was something he shouldn't be messing with. Something that they had to solve for him.

It's a miracle that they don't have him at the mansion 24/7, because Ellie wasn't even sure what she'll do if he was around so much. But she had to fix it up again, like always. Even then, her lingering annoyance for the masked mercenary only grew to hatred. She figured that it was normal feeling, but it wouldn't go away even if she knew that she had a mission to deal with.

All so much of it overtook her train of thought, and then she was out like a light.

-----
Time passes. The adjustment to this sudden change, it was different for both of them when they awakened in different spots that were highly similar. Nadeshiko was so awestruck by where she woke up in that she almost didn't want to leave, while Ellie felt annoyed that she was thrown somewhere else without her knowledge. At some point, both decided on their separate destinations, Nadeshiko going West, and Ellie going North.

❝ Omigod! These are really nice flowers! ❞ The pinkette found this spot to be a really nice spot to start off with in this strange journey that she was going to take with other people apparently. She was going to try and take a photo of the flowers, but noticed that her phone was not there. Only the slate and the apparent weapons she was given.

❝ Miss Flower Lady! Can I know your secret to making these flowers? I always wanted to make myself a garden, or maybe take flowers along with me for trips, and show them off to my friends, and... and ❞ If somebody didn't say anything else, it looked like she was going to talk all day about flowers.

Well, from the looks of it, no one seemed to be around when she decided to go north. However, that was soon proven wrong once she heard... someone about to engage in a fight with those... lizard things?

The lone Drifter stirred to a partially wakeful state, still feeling droplets of blood dripping from his mouth. His sunken black eyes opened to a view of a bright blue sky staring back, the beating heat of the sun pushing him to get up off the scorching grass beneath his back. Drifter gripped a clutch of grass and slowly heaved himself up, holding his head with the other hand and looking around.

Faint images of a marshy landscape filtered into his vision, but that wasn't enough to shake off the intense headache that breached the fortifications of his already-fragile mind. Echoes of a female voice appeared in and out at every corner of the wanderer's crumbling psyche, disturbed and distorted by a horrific plague.

sigh.

The Drifter released another cough, shaking his head and fully rising to his feet. Everything may have come at once, but now it made sense.

Sort of. It never does.

The Drifter reached into his cloak to withdraw a Sheikah slate that seemed to have been placed there. It was his first time seeing this device, but somehow he already knew what he was doing with it. Accessing the map with ease, the Drifter scanned the displayed landscape and noted that he ended up north of Kakariko village.

His eyes drifted past the slate, noting a lone Knight's Broadsword laying at his feet. His hands flew to his belt buckles, feeling the absence of his true weapons. The Drifter shook his head and knelt down, gripping its handle and raising it up to his face. He gave the blade the once-over - it was crude and not what he was used to, but a drifter knows not the meaning of pickiness.

Without a word spoken, the vagabond stumbled forward to join the gaggle of people confronting the lizard-looking creature. The Drifter looked at the armored woman and the others bizarrely, making no other moves but simply staring at them and occasionally glancing at the lizard creature that stood across the marsh.

Akane Owari Prologue
H U N G E R

"You have no idea how hungry I am today, Teruteru."

Akane barged into the kitchen. She helped herself to a plate of whatever the Super High School Level Cook, Teruteru Hanamura, was making, regardless of whether or not it was ready or made for her. Within seconds, the plate would be clean of food. She shoveled food into her mouth as fast as she could, eager to satisfy her nigh bottomless appetite. Despite just being fed, Akane's stomach continued to growl audibly.

View attachment 2809
"Delicious as always! Got any seconds for me?"

Regardless, Akane would attempt to take another helping of food and send it down her gullet.

Suddenly, the Super High School Level Gymnast's face turned sour. She looked as if she was about to return the food she just ate to the nearest trash bin. Her stomach was in pain, but no longer from hunger. Something was eating her up inside.

"Hey, was there something funny in that dish? I'm not feeling too good."

The nausea continued to build up and her upbeat demeanor faded.

"Hey, Teruteru, I dunno if it's just me, but I've been thinking a lot about Junko Enoshima. What she did to us, all those years taken away. Thinkin' about it... It makes me wanna punch her lights out if she wasn't already dead. I can't put a word on how I feel. Maybe everyone else feels the same way. I think I feel.."

Hatred. The hatred boiled up inside of her until she was ready to explode. Then, suddenly, her vision went dark.

Akane woke up groaning and holding her head. What exactly had happened? The last thing she remembered was eating a meal that Terteru had generously provided, but now she was... wherever she was.

"This isn't the first time I've woken up in a strange place," Akane thought to herself, "but I sure hope this place has a lot fewer talking bears."

Despite the warnings, she quickly stood up and looked around the room.
Don’t be afraid to touch that energy wall. The voice that’s been talking to you pops into your head again, as if knowing what you may be thinking. It’s harmless, and honestly? It's getting in your way.

By the time the voice had finished, Akane had already delivered a powerful kick to the energy wall, which was more than enough to cause it to shatter.

After freeing herself from the barrier, Akane inspected the chest. Inside, she found the powerful Stone Smasher weapon, a bow with Fire Arrows, as well as the Paraglider and the Shiekah Slate.

The Shiekah Slate reminded her of the electronic handbooks that her and her classmates had during a certain event. She glared at it suspiciously, but the mysterious voice said it was fine, so she held onto it.

"A small climb? Like rock climbing? Hell yeah! Let's do it! What exactly is a Lizalfos though?"

Akane missed the fact that she couldn't talk back to the mysterious voice, but after a minute of not hearing a reply, she decided to just move on forward.

She tapped on the shrine to the North, Daka Tuss.

What did concern the heroine, however, was in all of her adrenaline to tackle this challenge of the Gods, she soon realized how little equipment and powers she wielded. Her Bracelets of Submission and Lasso of Hestia were gone, treasures and heirlooms of the Divine Family she originated from.

Both 47 and Grievous took the contents out of the chest. Both of them managed to use the stone slate and noticed the map. Putting their weapons where they fit. Both went to the North.

"Ohhhh, so THOSE are Lizalfos. Not sure they look too friendly."

After noticing the people come, 47 looks towards them. Motioning them to stop. They were not targets and may not be entirely hostile. Regardless, the hitman didn't say a word, he didn't need to. His expression betrayed nothing, it was near-perfectly neutral.

Magda seemed to physically relax as she became certain the group meant no harm. Though a bit confused by Kokkoro's request, she did get a bit snappy at Nadeshiko. "No! Flowers are living things, child. To pull them from the ground is to starve them!"

If you glance at the map, you'll see your destination lies behind the shrine. How to get there, though...

Silque found this to be a peaceful area. A few people milled about the stable, including one young albino gentleman in unusual clothing talking to another fellow. The Lizalfos made a noise akin to squawking as they took notice of Diana. Right away, as they slithered towards her and her growing number of compatriots, they were on the attack. They didn't seem to care at all for Diana's speech, and started in on the fight right away.

One had a spear, the other a boomerang and shield, the third a bow and Shock Arrows. As the one with a boomerang immediately launched an attack on Diana, the one with a spear was launched a good few feet away by Akane's Stone Smasher. The third kept his distance, shooting an arrow at The Drifter, then another at the rest of the group!

Newcomers surrounded her, some more eager than others, some looking more machine and contraption than man. Generals, commoners, vagabonds and heroes -- all in one place. Loosely united in their pursuit of a mutual escape, however vain that might be. Giving a young human a side-eye, Diana looked a bit flabbergasted. "Uh, yes, I appreciate the help but I believe your shirt is...!" the demigoddess tried to remark, before narrowly attempting to dodge a boomerang.

Breaking into a full-sprint, Diana glanced behind her, barking out loudly over the commotion. "Do not endanger yourselves if you feel frighten! And before you ask, the name is Princess Diana of Themyscira! Protector of Mankind!" Princess Diana triumphantly declared, smacking the bipedal lizard with her broadsword before finishing with a quick bash of her radiant shield. While not as agile and fierce underneath her normal state, the Wonder Woman lived to her name of both bravery and prowess in combat.

Grievous drew his sword and completely ignored the shield as he charged at the one attacking him. Attacking viciously at the opponent with the blade. It was unfurtunate that he did not have his lightsabers. They woukd make the job so much easier.

"You can call me Tobias Rieper." Agent 47 said to Diana, using the name he used quite some time as a cover. But no one would have to know that. His tone was calm and relaxed, despite the situation they were in. Perhaps showing a high degree in controling his emotions.

The Separatist Generak said nothing as he kept fighting.
