Akashic Arcana Campus Expedition

It didn't matter whether Takeshi had made an actual wall of fire or it was one of his illusions. Wu was immune to both so he crashed through the wall with no fear appearing on the other side and slashing Takeshi since he'd failed to move out of the way.

"First hit goes to me." He said, standing in front of his roommate, left hand outstretched and using his flames to heal the wound he'd given Takeshi. "You gotta learn how to dodge. Those orbs cant do everything for you."

"They're a great offense but that's not why I used my illusion." Takeshi claimed.
"The entire fight so far I've been using the orbs to absorb some of your mana little at a time, it's the depletion technique. I'm not sure if you noticed or not but that's why your mana has drained significantly." He began to explain to Wu before he shot into the air.
"Although you jumped through the fire wall, illusion or not you just dove straight into the same electricity used for depletion. Now let's ask ourselves who got the first hit." He smiled as he gave Wu some of his mana back. "Thanks for the heal"

He raised an eyebrow at Takeshi, sheathing his sword and folding his arms as he looked up at his friend. "I got the first hit. If I wasn't so kind as to stop at one strike or heal the wound I gave you, it wouldn't matter how much mana you sapped away from me. You'd be on the ground, bleeding out from external injuries. Your tricks are neat, Takeshi, and against someone who is more mana dependent, you might have done better, but even without mana I can still hurt you."

He walked to the edge of the barrier and indicated to Cora to drop it. "That was two times that I'd won this duel only to hold back and give you a fair chance. I think we can call this duel in my favor." He said, slight disappointment in his voice.

"Yeah you're probably right, next time though. " He replied. "I'm sure if the both of us were going all out this would have turned out differently. "
Takeshi landed beside Wu and just looked at him for a few seconds. He was thinking about the fight and thought to himself how he never thinks before he makes his next move, he always jumped at the first opportunity to make an attack.
"You know Wu we've know each other for some time now, you can call me Kyo. Growing up that's what all my friends used to call me." He talked as he stuck his hand out to shake his.
The remaining orbs dissolved besides one. It floated between the two men as they were talking and began to replenish the mana used during the fight.
"I do have one question though, I've been trying to master an attack that could wipe out the entire arena if used properly. Any advice on how to master it with out destroying anything?" He asked Wu.

Gabriel grinned while he watched the fight, appreciating the prowess shown. When the fight concluded, with Wu being the winner, he was excited, going up against one of them would be a challenge, especially against Wu, but Takeshi would be a bit easier, as he too was a ranged fighter. "Good fight you two," he congratulated, before asking "So who am I going to go against? I mean I assume that's still the plan." He looked between the two wondering who would take the offer. He really wanted to test his skill, growing up no one was really qualified to fight him, so facing a real fighter would be interesting.

Cora let her hand drop as the two fighters walked towards her, canceling the magic. The floating disks shattered into tiny fragments that fell glittering like snow around them, lighting on hair and shoulders and ground for a moment before winking out of existance. She couldn't help the small smile that spread over her face as she watched it happen. Her magic was so volatile and such a nuisance most of the time, that she often forgott how beautiful magic could be.

She hung back a little as Gabriel talked to the other boys. She didn't really want to fight, although she knew it was the best way to get rid of the exess magic in her system. She watched Takeshi especially, wondering about what he had said to Wu about his final attack. A depletion technique he had called it. Was he like her? Or did the spell only take magic from others without giving it back to the caster? He sounded as though the whole thing was planned and controlled, perhaps he could give her some tipps about her own power if they were similar enough.

Wu shook Kyo's hand, an amused smirk on his face. "So you're trying to wipe out an arena... but not destroy anything? Sounds like you're trying to have your cake and eat it too, Kyo. At any rate, I'm not the guy to talk too. I'm all close range, what you need is a long range specialist." He said, patting Kyo on the shoulder before turning to Gabriel. "I think Kyo's the fresher of us two, having sapped up a lot of my mana so why don't you duel him? Besides, me and Cora still have a tour to complete, right? Unless you've seen enough for today." He said, indicating for her to join them. He didn't want her to feel lonely by standing in the back.

Gabriel grinned, "fine by me, I have no issue with that." He said, knowing that this would work out better, he would accept this challenge over the other, as he was more suited to deal with Takeshi anyway.
He turned to Takeshi and gave him a smile, "You up for it? I know you did just finish one fight after all" he didn't want to fight an already tired opponent after all. "We can take a breather if you need too."

"I'd like to watch the fight, if thats okay with you." Cora said as she stepped up to stand next to her guide. She wanted to find out more about Takeshis magic and watching him fight again seemed the best way to accompish that. "And Takeshi said he brought food, it would be rude to turn down such an invitation, wouldn't it."

She turned to the taller boy, "I think I can help you if you're feeling a bit run down. You have magic based on electricity right? I have a bit of that mana left I can boost you with. It shouldn't unfortunately give you too much, but could even things out a little." She hoped Gabriel wouldn't mind, she didn't know if she could keep boosts on two moving targets, so playing completely fair was out of the question.

Wu nodded to Cora, a bit disappointed as he'd been searching for an opportunity to converse in private with her again, but he never let that show on his face. "Fair enough. I'm going to go through a few Tai chi techniques to help me get some mana back, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on the fight. Let me know if any of you need anything." He said, before moving a bit away from the group. His sword sheathed, he entered a contemplative stance and began his routine.

"You know I actually have a technique I call Replenish that allows me to give myself or others stolen mana. We have a few things in common Cora." Takeshi said with a grin on his face. He began to walk over to the lunch bag he brought beside them, he stopped and turned to Gabriel. Not only was he looking at his physique but he sensed something similar.
"You must be from the NAA, my necklace helps me sence some magic. Have you learned to fly yet?". Takeshi began to get excited because he wanted to go up against someone who could fly to test his ability.
" On a side note I hope you like sushi, I didn't make it but in had time to pick some up on my way from a friend."

Gabriel smiled embarrassed, "No I can't fly yet sadly. I haven't figured it out yet." He said, in truth he hadn't ever tried to use his flight spell. "And sushi works for me. You wanna eat now or after our little fight?" He said little as he knew the more experienced fighter would surely win fairly quickly.
