Normally, Kayn felt at ease in the dark. It was his armor. However, he felt vulnerable in that void-like prison, sounds assaulting his mind. Only, this vulnerability disappeared once he discovered that he was summoned into a tournament.

A large-scale arena? Full of champions? This was precisely what he'd been looking for, a playground on which to test his skills. He had a strong feeling that this tournament would be the one to trigger his Shadow Assassin transformation. The mere possibility of gaining the power to surpass even Zed himself... he couldn't wait to get in.

While Kayn was indeed thrown off by the unfamiliar and Zaun-like surroundings, he couldn't help but chuckle a bit now that he was actually in the game. "This'll be interesting," he said, glancing at his enemies with a cocky grin. Meanwhile, Rhaast was practically shaking in Kayn's hands, and his large eye darted around, as if salivating in anticipation. "Ohh... there are so many strong opponents here, Kayn! Drive me into their flesh!" the Darkin bellowed, his voice unnatural. Kayn looked down at the weapon. "Patience, Rhaast. Do you not see that machine charging toward us? We could get seriously hurt," the ninja said sarcastically. He could easily Shadow Step through the walls to avoid it. Taking full advantage of this fact, he targeted one of the Champions.

He began running toward the station, though it wasn't a run of fear, but rather a pursuit of intent. Fleeing won't save you, Kayn thought to himself as he rapidly approached IG-88. He didn't feel that killing a robot would improve his skills much, but money was money, and Kayn wasn't one to pass up a vulnerable back.

Trails of darkness enveloped his legs as he seemingly danced along the shadows created by the light. By then, Rhaast noticed what his plan was. "A robot? What do you think I am, Kayn? I am a weapon, not some tool! TURN AROUND!" Rhaast pouted as a vein became visible on Kayn's head. "Will you just shut up for one second?!"

Once he got in range, he reeled back the blade and quickly swiped upward, a burst of energy lashing out at IG-88. It would cut into him and surround him in dark energies, slowing his movement. Following up, Kayn jumped into the air and swung downward, intending to cut deep into the robot's back and throw him at the oncoming train.

"I prefer the sound of flesh being torn, but oh well... this will have to do."

Successful in his attack or not, Kayn would step into the wall for a moment and let the train safely pass him.

One Champion was down. Forty Nine remained.

Trundling over IG-88's corpse had slowed down the train by a few miles per hour, buying Uzume, Seto and Victor an extra microsecond or two. They reached the station with heartbeats to spare. They felt the train cut through the air behind them.

"Hmm. Reminds me of the city of Planeptune, my nation. Towering structures. Filled with people who dared seal me away. "Me" is also here, thinking she can even begin to stop me. Hmhmm~ Well, looks like I have enough dimension to destroy in my wake."

Spoke the words of one Kurome Ankokuboshi. Her words were hollow and menacing to say the least, she really didn't have a care in the world. How she ended up in this situation was beyond her belief but she only had one purpose in mind; to do what she does best. Manipulation, Corruption and Destruction.

"So eager to waste your lives away. This tournament of grandeur. If you want to die, you know where to find me."

Kurome exclaimed as she walked towards the staircase, her guard up at all times.

"So, how does the story of the wolf brothers end?"

Sean Diaz felt like his head was splitting in two. He was being assaulted with information at all sides. He felt so unbelievably cold. He had no idea how to even start comprehending what was going on. He felt like was falling into an endless, dark abyss.

"..."

Sean's eyes shot open and he stumbled backward on his feet. He slipped and fell on to his ass, letting out a grunt. His wide-eyed stare took in the skyline surrounding him and those who had joined him on the rooftop. His body shivered as a sense of overwhelming dread overtook him. He reached up to tug at the collar around his neck. "What the fuck--" he stammered, unable to quell his shaking.

"What the hell is going on?!" he asked out loud to no one in particular. What kind of crazy fucking hallucination was this? What kind of strange fucking video game had he dreamed up?

"Where am I?!"
"If what I recall is true," Yashamaru said, turning to Sean," We're in some place called Planet Prudence for some sick game run by a bastard named Sorc Tormo. We have one week to make forty million credits each, and killing one of us earns you two million."

He crossed his arms, looking at those gathered on this rooftop. "I'm sure we can all do the math," he said. "If there are fifty of us, like he said, and you get two million a head, then you'd need to kill twenty people to get out of here alive, meaning only two people would have a chance if we go that route. But we have better chances the more of us that survive...and I have an idea on how to do that."

He started for the edge of the roof, looking around at their surroundings. "Back home, I'm a thief," he said. "I know how to take money, and I know how to make it. And I know that where there's money...there's people willing to pay you to do work for them." He turned back to the others. "If you'd like to kill like that girl who went down the stairs, be my guest. I'll get out of here another way, and you're welcome to join me." And by the end of this week, I'll have Tormo's head, he mentally added to himself. But it was important these people know he meant them no harm; they were all prisoners here.

"If it's a way out we're looking for, we could easily steal a car and head towards the sunset. Or we could hop on a train. The challenge will come from running away without getting blown to smithereens..."

Gen tugged on the ends of his moustache and paced the rooftop.

"Well, if we can agree that killing each other is not the best way forward... I can see a bank from up here. A casino or two, too. If it's money we're after, we might as well take it from those who already have enough of it. It's impossible for us to make 40 million through legal means. We don't have a choice but to bend the rules a little."

The Devil of Hong Kong stepped away from the ledge. His eyes thinned into razors.

The jostling of the sergeant's armor forecasted his presence to the two swordsmen. Markus emerged around the corner, blade in tow, and approached the pair of murderers. He stopped just a few feet between them.

"Oi. Far be it from me to get in the way of two fightin' men," the mercenary mused with a furrowed brow. "But you're gonna take it somewhere away from all these people first, understand?"

Kruber lifted the decorated zweihander off his shoulder and brought to bear in front of his chest, wrapping his other hand around the handle. He stared the two strangers down with conviction, still unsure of where he was but convinced that he had to keep the peace long enough for him to formulate a plan.

Sam shrugged.
"Fair play," He smirked. "I mean, there's no point in turning all these..." His eyes danced across the growing crowd of 'amateur hunters'. "Lovely people into chopped sirloin. If we're going to fight, I'm going to want some extra leg room." He released he hilt of his sword and let it slide back into its scabbard. He walked towards the crowd and watched them park nervously.

"See you around, Stick. I'll get around to your bounty eventually. I'll look forward to it--" In a flash, Sam was gone. He mechanical limbs carried him through the crowd in the blink of an eye. He vanished into the wider city.

Trudgen was not so easily deterred. He closed the distance between the two men in a handful of steps. Kruber could have felt Ren's breath up his cheek, the Knight not been wearing a mask.

He writhed his hands around the hilt of his cleaver.

"Greater men than you have tried to stay my hand. Greater men had died in the process. The Shadow permits me to do as I see fit. To do what I like, when I like it. I won't have some--"

A bowl of pudding struck the back of the Knight's helmet. It didn't phase him much at first. He simply stared, unflinching.

"They're asking for it." He raised his cleaver and waited for the crowd to close in. "I won't be mocked by these people."

@Atomic Knight @Takumi @Crunch @Gummi Bunnies
"They...um..." Oh dear, she didn't know the expression, either. But luckily there was a new distraction, the young boy. Marianne couldn't just leave (despite desperately wanting to), that would be rude. "Yes, we might be." Wait, what was she saying? Children needed hope... "B-But!...um...if we work together..." Oh Goddess, she couldn't finish that. She wasn't going to be seeing the end of this week, anyway.

Daniel's gaze snapped toward Ouka and he let out a shuddering breath. "You'll... help me...?" As he said this, the floating debris slowly dropped back down, finally clattering once they hit the tables or floor.

Just hearing someone offer to help him grounded Daniel for the moment and his immediate panic subsided slightly. He still felt a horrible feeling in his stomach and his neck felt weird with the collar around it. At least this boy looked... normal. More normal than all the faces that had flashed across Daniel's mind moments ago.

"Are we in trouble?" he asked, not sure how to really word how he was feeling.

@Yun Lee @Takumi @Gummi Bunnies @Crunch @Sark
"Stop that." Ouka called, turning to address Daniel.

"Whoever Sean is, he's not here. You can look for him, and I'll help you look, but whatever you're doing right now might put a target on your back." Namae's tone lacked any emotion, but he didn't flinch at whatever ability Daniel waa giving off in his panic. It was like magic, but not.

'I...envy him. He can feel and show his emotions with ease. He's alive.' Ouka thought, unaware that he was, in a sense, jealous of a child.

Whether Daniel panicked more from his words or calmed down, didn't matter too much to Ouka in the end.

"I think there's a saying about like minds...I don't remember what it was, though." He replied, tilting his head slightly.

The crowd was thinner upstairs, but there were still plenty of eyes following the Champions at all times. The civilians were eager to keep their distance from their targets for the most part. Some turned and made their way towards the emergency exits and elevators.

A series of clothes stores here selling long coats, cloaks and jackets. They'd do wonders for concealing your identity. If you were quick, you could probably grab some clothes, but them on and reach the elevator at the end of the strip before any good Samaritans could stop you. Alternatively, you could always stop and pay for your goods. However, most of the stores had one way in and one way out. Lingering inside would be a great way to get trapped inside.

Alternatively, you could forget about disguises, head to the elevator and hit the streets, or explore the mall more in search of food. District B is large. Its hard to know when you might get another shot at gathering resources.

Though he wore his beaklike mask, Yashamaru couldn't help but smile. "Steal from Tormo himself? I like the way you think...but unfortunately I doubt it would end well. But a casino...if the world works here like it does in Japan...all sorts of lowlifes are drawn to those places. That's my first stop. Are any of you interested in joining me?" The samurai was used to flying solo...but in a situation like this, allies could be useful.

"Yes!" Kayn shouted victoriously as he watched the automaton get absolutely dumpstered by the train. He continued phasing through the wall and finally emerged at the station, tendrils of blue shadows disappearing from his body. His smile widened as the money showed up on his collar. "See, that wasn't so bad," he quipped to Rhaast. "Yeah. Whatever."

Suddenly, Kayn snapped out of his ego when Star Lord was eliminated. That was when he first noticed that something was off about this tournament. "What? Civilians can partake in this, too?" he said, losing his composure slightly. He sighed, his smirk returning. "Well, if they do, then I suppose they accept death." The clerk hardly had enough time to brag another word as Rhaast pierced his brain. The corpse fell to the floor immediately, a pool of blood leaking from its cranium. The Darkin purred in satisfaction, but Kayn remained stoic. He stood defiantly in front of the brick-wielding commoners.

"Let this be a lesson to all of you. Do not involve yourself in our affairs. I'd hate to waste my time killing you."

"Why spare them? Just kill them all! It's so liberating!" Rhaast whined, but his wielder ignored him. "Ugh. Boring."

As Kayn scanned the room, his heart skipped a beat. There was a fearful boy, no older than 15, with the same collar that he had. His brows furrowed.

"I don't want to kill people!" Seto said.

For a moment, Kayn was back in Ionia at the Epool River. A storm surged as he was rushed out of a boat by his commander. “Nice to meetcha, Eight Hearts,” Narancia says, “Like I said, I ain’t sayin’ my name until everyone here’s on board with this alliance,”

Narancia turns his attention to everyone else, “If ya still on the fence, just to letcha know I’ve lived in the slums before. Not these ones, but ya get the jist. Thing is, bein’ in the slums without someone watchin’ ya back’s hard. I’d assume ‘specially so ‘cause of the number ‘bove ya head. Let me tell ya, I ain’t the brightest of the bunch but goin’ out in the slums all alone is a terrible idea. Workin’ with each other’s prolly the best way we can all go home, even if it ain’t for long,”

"Did you have the same thought?" Ouka asked, glancing at Marianne over his shoulder when he heard someone follow him.

"Some of those people are thinking about attacking us, and those two men...they're too busy sizing each other up to notice." He spoke before looking forward as he walked. So far, he didn't sense any hostility from the blue haired girl.

"There's no point in staying in an area with so many hostile people." He continued. They weren't magicians as far as he could tell--except something about Marianne interested him. He wasn't sure what it was, exactly anyway.

Chise kept her distance, though glanced to Eight Hearts and Narancia.

"I'm all for an alliance, but I don't know if we can convince those two so easily." She motioned to Juri and Ventress.

"Well, no one said we wouldn't kill anyone," Eight Hearts replied looking over to Juri and Ventress. He had no qualms for killing, not really, but in a situation like this, it was probably for the best to restrain themselves for the time being. "And by that I mean we are in an unusual situation where we are both hunter and prey. So logically if we stick together that will be a deterrent for someone to just jump us. Or at least gives us more of a fighting chance, don't you all agree?"

Seeing about two or three deaths in the span of a few seconds caused Seto to become shaky and nervous. A civilian killing a man without a second thought had shaken him to the core. He felt his heart stopped for a moment, before beating rapidly. His mouth became dry and it was hard to swallow. He spent all this time trying to find human‘s to connect with...and now everyone wanted to kill him! What sick fate was this?

“N-No...” he muttered as he put his crossbow on his back, and pulled out a katana. He shook his head and hurriedly rushed off, before Kayn, or some random civilian decided he lived a long enough life. He was leaving the subway and heading to the outside world. He didn’t know where he’d end up, but it had to be better than this place, and if anyone tried to stop him...that’s why he had the sword.

Chase was used to being underestimated. He understood the logic of the man grabbing him and pointing the gun at his head. He thought he was some small weak play. It was too bad that he was wrong. Upon the gun getting closer to him, he activated his magnetism and would send the gun (pointed upwards so he don’t shoot himself) into the air and then land it in his right hand. “You really shouldn’t judge people based on appearances.”

“ I think that logic does work for now. At best, we need to kill twenty people, but also, we have to remember, we are more valuable together. Theses slums breed all sorts of people. Two million could go a lot for them. We need to be on guard to not die. ”

Uzume just stood and watched as IG-88 went down, using the time bought by his corpse to escape the train. Then Starlord roared and died due to a brick and train collision, followed by a Officer Worker's screams of delight.

"Always need to stay on the move. I'd of thought you'd of learnt that by now. Guess you weren't as cool as me, huh?"

Uzume mourned only slightly as Seto decided to pull a runner. Seeing him run away, Uzume felt both sympathetic and disgusted. Sure, killing isn't easy but at the same time, simply running away from your fate is a sign of cowardice, especially since in Uzume's case, she's handled far worse than this.

"Well, if you all want a challenge, come find me."

Uzume stated as she booked for a staircase; aiming to locate the Compendium Hotel.

Are any of you interested in joining me?" "Well, no one said we wouldn't kill anyone," Eight Hearts replied looking over to Juri and Ventress.

Before Kurome opened a door towards the building's staircase, she overheard Gen mention something about a bank or a casino. She simply turned her head and muttered.

'So that's where the exits are? If any of the people that just left went out there to try and ambush us they'll be surprised that at least I would fight back the moment they tried. "Hm, I'll be in one of the clothes stores for a moment." He spoke, before glancing up at Marianne's hair.

"I don't know if you want a disguise to hide your hair or not, but it stands out." He commented, before heading into one of the stores to buy a cloak for himself.

Despite appearing calm and relaxed, he was actually alert and ready to defend himself at a moment's notice.

He had almost forgotten that, although not all Champions were selfish killers, quite a few of them were. "He's going for that kid isn't he..."

"See what happens when you hesitate? Set me free, Kayn, let me show you how it's done," Rhaast said softly, his voice echoing in Kayn's mind. Again, the Darkin's words were ignored. As much as the prodigy wanted to immediately head back into the action to save Seto, he would not sacrifice his life for it.

Instead, the assassin used the Blade of Millenia as a walking stick to quickly get to the nearest wall, shadow tendrils helping him along. By basking in the pure darkness of a solid wall, he could use his magic to heal his wounds (to an extent). "Retreat!?" Rhaast yelled. "Do not question me, or my motives," Kayn finally snapped back as he was mere seconds away from entering the wall. "You wouldn't need to recover like this if you just let me in, you know." Kayn felt the corruption spread a little bit further onto his torso.

Assaulted both physically and mentally, all he could focus on was getting inside the wall in order to recover his senses. Thus, what he didn't notice was that he had been getting dangerously close to Saltzpyre. The Darkin scythe's large eye stared at the Witch Hunter as they passed each other.

"These are the strong? Pathetic," the demon muttered to himself.

❝ Oh no no no, this can't be happening... ❞ Rena muttered under her breath, trying to find a hiding spot at this subway. It was already stressful for the schoolgirl to get off the train tracks as is. Just as her heartbeat was getting abnormally rapid from all the current stressors of her unfortunate situation, she tightened her grip on the hatchet she had with her.

I'm going to die. I'm going to die. I'm going to die.

She locked her eyes on the scene before her. People died in front of her. People could be killed in front of her. Her thoughts changed.

We're going to die. We're going to die. We're going to die.

Letting herself get blown in the wind that was her instincts, Rena broke out to a sprint to get to Seto, forcefully grabbing his arm.

❝ Ah! We... we need to go! We need to go now! ❞ The world was spinning for her. She probably sounded like she had no awareness of the situation she recklessly put herself in. Or maybe she's already lost the common sense of what danger was. Her heartbeat worsens every second, her breath shaky and unsteady.

____ going to die. ____ going to die. ____ going to die.

Disgusting. All of this was. This was supposed to be a simple trip to search for a way to save his own world. Popola and Devola were sure that this would work, but something brought him here instead. Nier sighs. Even with his newfound humanity, it's being put on the line once again. There's no telling what would happen to him if he were to die with this body, if there would be a way for his spirit to be contained in a replacement Replicant body in time.

Tch, alright, all powerful Shadowlord, what's your course of action here? Kill all these civilians to make sure you can survive this or something? Or do you have a heart and help protect those that need it?

❝ ... you know exactly what I'm doing, Replicant. Or I can't look at Yonah in the eye again... ❞ Nier casually responds to the voice in his head. Ignoring the crowds of onlookers that were sizing him up, the Gestalt runs to where he saw the small grouping of Champions head off to: the second floor of this mall. How would conversation with other people go after centuries of being alive and alone?

❝ Ah. Hello. ... I mean no harm. ❞ He awkwardly says as he approaches them, his hands raised and away from his swords.

Lucas or Shadow 1-8 as he was called was used to danger, but not in this way. He and Echo was supposed to do a mission together and somehow he woke up on top of a skyscraper. He was a spy, a trained assassin. This time he wore a silver collar and stared at the others.

Though he was here to gather information about the situation they were in, he heard what seemed like..a samurai and a .. kid talking about a death match they were in and they were all worth something in cash...for some damn money...

His O.W.L followed behind him, awaiting his orders. He was from Vektan city but that didn't mean he was out of his elements, quite yet.

Shadow turned, his futuristic gun nearby "Explain what's going on. I might be able to help."

Victor had no time to react before the game began to take its toll on the players. The Witch Hunter found himself slinked away in a far corner of the station, observing the events unfold before his watchful eye. People, all adorned in bizarre foreign attire and wielding technology so far beyond even Dwarven and Skaven design that Saltzpyre had a difficult time understanding what they did, coming and going and dying with little time to process the situation. If there was anything Victor understood thus far, it that he was out of his element.

At least, until the very tip of his spine began to tingle. A telltale chill ran along the Witch Hunter's back, eliciting a furrowed brow as he turned his head towards the direction of one soul caught in the crosshairs of some armed man - a bounty hunter, by the looks of it.

The thing that the hunter was aiming at was indeed a man; a foul mockery of a man, the entire right side of his body twisted beyond recognition by a tall and sinister scythe. As the Witch Hunter's eye caught a glimpse at the weapon, the chill along his back grew intense and fervent, heating his righteous blood to the boiling point. By the luck of Ranald, Sigmar, or some other deity watching the Witch Hunter's works, he found the source of that sickly, malefic taste of heresy on the air.

The word was already on Victor's tongue. "A daemon...!"

As I suspected, my abduction was the work of heretics. That scythe exudes a corrupting air like none other... I am no servant of Sigmar if I do not destroy it. So be it, then!

Tentative fingers touched the device fastened around Saltzpyre's throat once he noticed the bounty hunter lift a tablet to his neck. So he was not the only one chained to this damnable device. There are other champions roped into this 'game,' and by his luck, one of them was a heretic like none other. A daemon or otherwise, the scythe that boy wields is something to be destroyed.

The moment that the bounty hunter retreated, black boots began to squeak against concrete. Though Kayn himself hadn't noticed the Witch Hunter (or perhaps he did, and was more focused on retreating), Rhaast certainly did.

"HALT!"

Saltzpyre emerged around the corner of the station, a gloved hand unfastening the steel pistol on his hip and twirling it to an armed position. The soft clicking noise alluded to a spinning barrel.

"BY THE WILL OF SIGMAR, YOU SHALL GIVE ME THAT SCYTHE, NOW!"

BANGBANGBANG!

A bang, and a flash of black powder. A volley of bullets sailed towards the Shadow Assassin's exposed leg. Whether the abjuring shots would hit their mark or not, the Witch Hunter continued his approach, withdrawing a sword from his hip with a free hand.

Markus did not budge from his position, instead carefully watching at the first swordsman retreated from the area. That was one man down, but the other wasn't going to leave without a fight. Kruber shifted his body to the side, placing himself between Trudgen's path and any other civilians in the area. The man's broad, bearded face remained statuesque despite the encroaching threat of a cleaver slicing through his heart.

He's faced much worse than some tosser with a big sword. The soldier leveled the Imperial zweihander in his grip, lifting it's wide blade upward into a combat-ready position in front of his torso.

"So, are gonna start fightin', or are you going to talk some more? I've better things to do."

Sean - District A/The Skyscraper

Sean held up his hands in a surrendering manner. "Look," he said, managing some level of calm, "I think I, uh, seriously know the least about what is going on here." A whole other planet... and all these strange people. Sean felt numb. He couldn't possibly take all this in. Daniel's power had been weird enough. All this was just, well, complete fantasy.

"I just want to go home."

Daniel - District B/The Mall

"H-Hey, wait..." Daniel called out ineffectually toward Ouka as they made their way for the clothing store. Daniel wasn't sure what to do with all these people around looking at him so weirdly. He wasn't an idiot, he knew how bad this was.

"Stop," he said, taking a few steps toward Trudgen and Markus. "Why are you fighting? Aren't we all...?" He pointed at the collar around his neck and then pointed at Markus'. However, Daniel's voice trailed off as his gaze focused on the sword in Markus' possession. "Woah. That's so, so cool. You seriously look like you're from a movie!"
