Hanzo and his ambush group had been creeping up behind Christian. When they neared he stopped the group and waited. He soon saw his chance. "Attack!" Hanzo shouted out loud. The students swarmed out from their hiding spots looking like a tiny army. The air rang loud with their battle cry.

He drew the symbol for the One with the Earth spell. Finishing the symbol he slid under the earth. This spell allowed him to move under the surface of the earth as freely as he could above but also increased his speed by half. Soon he was coming close to Christian. Once he was close he drew the symbol for the land spike while still underground. The ground rumbled and a large spike protruded from the ground that was large enough to be seen above the trees. If it connected it would knock him into the air. If not then he would have to come up and fight hand to hand.

"Nerones, exaudi orationem meam; mihi virtutem influendi excursus fac voluntatem meam ut cordis maneo, certa clara mihi propositum!"

Christian said; his voice echoing loudly over the arena; followed by the sound of a tree splitting in two, a bright light soon dissipating as it released its energy into the wood.

"Wow..." Christian brough out before noticing how pillars of water began to rise from the river; six in total; their highest point flailing about untill three of them found Ruby, Hanzo and Adebowale. The pillars came down on top of them; bringing with foliage from the river and small fishes. The streams of water left by the pillars increased their currents; grabbing the students their anckles and dragging them towards the source. Sissing and hissing erupted from Ruby, echoing omthrough the woods. The Guardian, controlled by Adebowale began to shimmer and dull in intensity; soon disappearing as Adebowale himself ran out of mana and was mercilessly dragged towards the open river.

Then, the unsuspected happened; a spike made of earth errupted from under Christian, and pushed him into the air; his arms flailing as his flight path described a almost perfect arch. Before he would land on the harsh, rocky grpund; he managed to chant a last incantation, before feeling how his mana reserves were close to being depleted.

"Nerones, dona mihi praesidium"

And right at that moment, a wave of water rushed underneath him, absorbing his fall.

Meanwhile, his previously cast spell was causing havoc to ensue; the three most promising students were being pulled into the river; the water's current to strong to crawl out. The other remaining students were simply being plucked from the land, pulled into the river and kept down. Christian looked at it; smiling a smile that seemed genuin and rather happy.

He had made sure to bring out tactical thinking, observation, appreciation and guts, along with the correct usage of magic, in all of the first-year students that attended his exam. And he felt happy; happy that atleast three of the students excelled in everything.

Right at the moment that Ruby, Hanzo and Adebowale were being pulled into the river, he stopped the spell; causing remaining pillars to fall down and currents to shift; causing the students to raise towards the water's surface.

Christian then decided it was time to walk down towards them; showing himself without tricks or surprises, to the students.

As he arrived in front of them; panting slightly and chuckling as he looked at them, he spoke;

"Congratulations, students! All of you have made it into the Academy. Ranking of your combat skills will be done soon. Extra points for courage or impressing me, will be taken into said ranking. But for now, lets go out to the Academy, and show the other's the school's newest additions!" He then flexed; his big biceps showing; true evidence of his dedication to his task as Disciplinary Committee Captain. The sides of his chest were sticking out from uder his sleeveless hoody; the visible part being all that comes after the nipple, outwards. A thin layer of black stubble covered his chest; showing his maturity. His jaw was flexed; further enhancing his bright white smile, which in turn made his stubble-covered jawline look divine. His blue eyes had joined his mouth in the genuin smile; a playfull - perhaps even flirty - shimmering visible in those blue portals that lead to his soul.

Now, looking at the students as they reacted to the exam's result, he thought; 'I need a drink... a strong one, preferably...'

The battle cries that carried on the wind signified that the ambush had started... If it could even be called that with all the screaming. "Something docent feel right." She blurted out as blood trickled out of her small wound. Sure the plan went accordingly even if she had to pull her punches as to not hurt anyone else. But things went too smooth. ".....Wait." She and Ade were standing on top a large archway with a river at the bottom.... She facepalmed as the realization came too late, a large pillar of magically charged water snuffed out her flames and began dragging her along with Ade, Hanzo and anything else caught in its pull. 'One win for the king... Jerkass.'

The moment the spell stopped was the moment too late. Ruby was soaked to the bone, her dress seemed to drip off water like she was a god damned faucet, the blood from her wound mixed with some of the black ruining the symmetrical colors of her dress, not to mention her panties felt so soaked she was surprised she wasn't blushing cherry from the fear of what that might imply, she had to keep hold of her chest just so her boobs wouldn't pop out and make this more R rated than it already was. Her now crimson hair seemed the only thing that somehow wasn't too affected by the waves, in fact, it along with her porcelain-like skin seemed to shine in the moonlight like she was a majestic goddess; IF you could ignore the look of frustration and pure rage on her face. Twisting out water from the skirt part of her dress, "Anyone else alive, or do I need to cremate someone?"

Christian made his way down, painting and chuckling. Seems like the test and her punishment was over.

Ruby was still shaking due to how cold the water was, listening to Christians Speech. "Newest addition? Are you forgetting something?" Her tone was as hard as the rock that scratched her arm. Is this chucklehead seriously going to sit there and say this shit to her face? Again her anger died down when she gazed at him again, not because of his biceps, or even the chest... But because of his genuine smile and the look in his eyes. Suddenly she felt her face start to heat up and her heart starting to pound again, it had been so long since she has seen someone around her smile like that. Turning to Ade and Hanzo. "You did good.... And if you tell anyone I said that to you, I'll deny it!" Still holding her chest she made her way to the Exit. Leaving behind small trickles of blood from her wound as she proceeded.

Before Ade could even process what was going on, he felt the water sweep him off his feet and pull him down into the river. He tried to get his guardian to come for him, but with the sudden panic of being close to suffocating, he became reckless with his mana, and before the guardian could even move, Ade was empty.

He was coughing up water when they could finally resurface, and felt like he could marry the ground. He wasn't much of a swimmer, as anyone could imagine.
He looked up as Christian made his way towards them, congratulating the three of them for finishing this trial. Ade tried to send him a smile, say thank you, or even just feel grateful, but it was hard when all of his clothes were weighed down from being soaked and as he tried to move, it gathered dust and ground, and became all muddy.

He looked towards at Ruby as she threw a compliment towards them and croaked back a quick. "You were a good leader" before coughing again. He needed a shower, a warm bed and a good night's rest, but as he made his way towards the exit, he could feel a grin plastered all over his face.

They may not have won over Christian, but they just finished their first exam with a success.

Hanzo hadn't expected for his attack to be the last one. After he hit Christian he came up just in time to end up entangled in the current. He looked up to Christian as he fell back down to the ground just to be caught in a wave. He started to draw the symbol for the earth wall just as the current stopped. He looked around in confusion. Why did the current stop?

Christian was walking towards them. He was smiling tiredly. He spoke up saying that everyone left had passed. In his head he was glad that it was over. He wasn't as tired as the main group was but he was still tired. His clothing was soaked but that didn't bother him, this wasn't the first time he had to wear wet clothes.

He thanked Ruby as she told them that they had done good. The way she said it though he guessed that she didn't give out compliments often. He then walked up to Christian and started up a conversation with him. He thought that Christian and him would be good friends later.

Christian witnessed how both Ruby and Adebowale walked off. He smiled happily; glad the exam was over. He didn't look forward to having to rank them, thou; the process being rather boring.

At the sight of Hanzo walking towards him, trying to start a conversation, he quickly raised a hand and said; "Hello there, i'm sorry, but i'm afraid i'll have a lot of work to do before i can relax-." Which actually was true, so he continued; "So... i should get going, and so should you!-" He pointed at Hanzo as he said that and followed up with; "After all, you passed the exam; so go have some fun!" He then laughed and turned around; walking towards the arena's exit.
