They didn't have much time left. But she needed more time to charge. The concept of simple complexity was there in her mind, and she was able to melt her spell down and pour it into the moldings her mind had crafted. But that was only one. She needed to do it two more times.

She didn't have much time. Viola could see that, watching as Viktoriya freed Xena from the sand, alleviating any fear she had of her attack getting out of hand. But now that both of her opponents were on the battlefield again, things were going to get more difficult.

Xena proved this by literally disappearing.

Crap. Where did she go? Can she teleport? Did she go back in time? With magic, it could've been anything. She needed to get out of there.

Viola began letting herself fall, no longer using her flight ability to keep herself in the air, but help keep the wind and weather from affecting her too much. Her first instinct was to look towards her blind spot: above. She saw Xena. Too close, reaching out for her with electrified hands.

She boosted, channeling the energy up into the air, forcing her fall towards the ground to accelerate rapidly. Viola needed to get to the ground and soon. Her flight skill may be able to keep her away until the end of the fight, but it would only be running. She needed to pass this.

Steel against steel. Viktoriya was facing Artoria, her little sister in combat for the first time, and overall, she was thrilled and proud of her sister at such a young age to put up a good fight like this! Her massive arm-blade met Artoria's Caliburn in combat. The two swords resonated a metallic clash every time their blades met. They were fast, at some points, faster than what normal eyes could see. Their movements fluid, showing martial prowess as fiery sparks were flying all around them from these repeated sparrings.

She felt it, the tip of Artoria's blade scratching her armored form's helmet. Caliburn drew a deep gorge into her helmet that the shell cracked, revealing Viktoriya's right eye and some of her dark hair exploded out from the crack. At the same time, Vikki's blade scratched into Artoria's armor, scratching it wickedly as a couple of the magical steel was coming off. It wasn't deep enough to harm the girl's flesh, however.

Faster, she had to move faster. But it was as if Artoria knew all of her attacks a few steps ahead of her. Could she have mastered Premeditation? If so, then it makes sense how Artoria could predict her moves. She grinned wickedly.

Viktoriya's back exploded in a splash of blood, as several ebony blades shot out from behind her. They resembled spider legs, with the tips appearing more like spears. She started to ruthlessly assault Artoria, her blade working in conjunction with the rapid legs that were sending out a flurry of stabs towards Artoria at lethal speed. She was impressed, however, as Artoria performed a swift diagonal crescent slash from her blade, Caliburn slicing through every single one of the blades she had created from behind her back. The morsels of what was left of the spider legs slowly retracted themselves back into the flesh of her back.

"Too slow..." She whispered as Viktoriya performed a swift foot-technique by bringing her body instantly behind Artoria after she committed to taking out her spider blades. Vikki swiftly allowed her blade to descend, slashing up Artoria's back in a vertical line, leaving a spray of blood in the air, before coating the ground in the little Princess' blood.

"Don't give up now-... NGH!" Her sister bounced back instantly, she wasn't even frazzled by the injury as Artoria busted out with intense velocity. It was Mana Burst, and with the added force and speed, she needed to guard this. Viktoriya's left arm quickly broke into a mass of tendrils before it re-assembled itself into a black-shield. To Vikki's surprise, the sword, Caliburn, shattered her guard and went straight through the shield. The blade even went as far as to pierce through her armor and dived right into her right side. She could feel how it pierced her kidney, causing her to cough up blood inside her helmet.

Both of her arms turned back to normal, and Viktoriya looked limb just for a moment. Artoria could feel that she was holding up Vikki's weight with her sword inside her sister's right side. Vikki weakly raised her arm towards Artoria, seemingly to be on the verge of dying.

"Just kidding!" - She said with a grin and suddenly she moved her right fist up towards Artoria's visor. She gathered a huge amount of Mana within her right hand, before suddenly releasing it all on a flick of her middle finger. The flick, or rather, forehead poke, was now powered by the same amount of a full-body Mana Burst. The concentrated strike was intended to smash Artoria's visor into pieces, and at the same time, sending Artoria flying a massive distance back. The added force to Viktoriya's poke had the same force of a car running at you with 80 mph.

Masego:

The man flew higher and higher, passing the two girls who were currently falling from the sky. He needed a huge amount of height to pull this off, and it would probably consume almost all of his remaining mana. By the time he'd reached a height he deemed suitable, Artoria's blade had just cut through Viktoriya's shield. The time to strike was now.

He positioned himself just above the president's head, then shifted back to his hulking elephant form. With his wings now retracted back into his body, he entered free fall. His increased mass helped him accelerate, becoming a living meteor of sorts, rocketing towards Vikki with his left arm cocked back for a punch. "Move, Little Knight!" He screamed at Artoria, hoping the girl could move out of the way before he came crashing down on the president's location with a massive meteor punch.

Xena:

The other person currently in freefall, Xena, had a scowl on her face as her prey managed to notice her just in time to boost away. Luckily for the secretary, they were both heading for the same place. Her shocking grasp still sparking forth, attempting to wrap Viola in it's paralyzing embrace, she committed fully to the freefall, planning to use the first year's body to cushion her own fall. This was an all or nothing move. If she missed, she'd be teleported out to avoid a deadly fall and Viktoriya would be left on her own. She prayed to Raijin that her aim was true.

Artoria's back burned with pain, but she fought through it. Hers and Vikki's blades were meeting furiously, sparks flying and sand scattering with each impact. The longer they fought, the more the Princess was able to unleash her power without fear. After all, this was her sister she was fighting. She didn't want to accidentally do too much damage. Though Vikki was so tough that it was becoming apparent that was a complete non-risk.

At least, until one of her strikes went completely through Viktoriya's guard. She got instantly alarmed when the President went limp, and Artoria could swear her own heart stopped, the expression on her face pure horror. But it was a trick! A powerful strike of unforeseen strength struck against her forehead, blasting her visor into pieces and sending her sprawling across the dunes. She let out a pained yell as she flew, then tumbled through the sand, skidding to a stop. There was a welt in the middle of her forehead now, and it hurt. A lot. "That's fighting dirty!" Artoria fought back the tears, and scrambled back to her feet.. before falling over again from the absolute daze she was in. She could swear she saw two Vikkis. Once again, she slowly but surely got to her feet, far away from where Mago's impact zone would be.

Viola hadn't fully grasped how Xena had gotten into the air the way that she had, but she knew one thing the moment her free fall plan worked: her opponent couldn't do that move while in the air.

Not worried about her appearing out of nowhere again, Viola kicked into flight mode and flew towards the ground instead. The distance closed was quick, just a matter of seconds, gaining her more time and distance between her relentless opponent. At the last moment, before she'd collide with the ground, she changed her course in a smooth arc, flying along side the ground. Leaving behind a smaller version of her Wind Poof spell, to catch Xena if she continued to fall and to keep her busy for a few seconds longer.

She pushed her boost further once she was flying along the ground, pushing her speed upwards to about 100MPH (160 KMH). After a few seconds of this, she slowed herself down and reoriented herself so she could get a visual of the battle field.

Then, she focused on her gathered spell. It was almost ready.

"Sorry Ahren! In love and war, everything counts!" She yelled back towards her recovering little sister, and before she could resume their battle, her attention was taken to the skies as Masego was dropping in with his final attack. "That idiot!" She practically yelled. There were still students around them, wounded, and barely on their legs. If that attack hits, not even the referees could safely teleport all of the students at once.

Viktoriya dispelled her armored form, it shattered and her form was entirely human. She was still coated in blood, but she was entirely human at this point. She needed to focus all of her mana on this one last move.

The President raised her right hand above her head as she began to focus all of her remaining mana into her greatest defensive move, which was a thing she could only do once, because of all the mana she had used. Slowly, as her mana began to focus, her voice started to feel hollow, almost omnipotent. She chanted: "My body is my shield... steel is my blood... Neither death nor life shall pass... So I pray... AEGIS!"

A large shape of a flower's seed appeared in the form of bright purple energy. Within a moment, this energy flourished into a mighty flower of mana that covered a large amount of area in the skies. Viktoriya's casting arm was swirling with a beautiful stream of purple energy that kept her greatest barrier spell, Aegis, afloat. With the amount of Mana she poured into it from her Homunculus body, this shield was a Class-A ability. Blood began to trickle down from her nostrils. Her tear ducts busted from the pressure of the mana being released into this spell, that she began to cry blood.

As Masego crashed into the shield with his fist, it was like hitting a completely solid surface. The following explosion was so loud, that the following shockwave was visible to the naked eye. A powerful ring of white energy exploded outwards from Masego's fist as it made contact with the many floating camera drones. For a moment, the screen for the spectators went dark, and it took a 2 seconds before uplink could be re-established to the people outside.

The Light of Aegis was so powerful, that the ground underneath this shield was lighted up with purple rays, and it almost seemed like a divine act, due to the flower's shape of a cross. The many students who were still recovering could only look at this large defensive spell in awe. For a moment, Masego was stopped by the Aegis spell, and his attack seems to have made the shield crack just on the surface.

That was the end of the Aegis spell, however, as Viktoriya ran out of mana to sustain it. The shield shattered and Masego would be free-falling towards the ground. Vikki's casting arm was completely fried, burnt. It didn't regenerate due to the fact she no longer had any mana in her body. The leylines within her right arm were completely burnt, leaving a nasty looking 3rd degree burn marks, as if someone had whipped her arm with electricial cords.

"X-Xena... I need a hand. I am in no condition to continue." She only muttered, hoping Xena could hear her. The Examination was going to end, as a loud horn echoed throughout. A large message in the skies lighted out with green text. "STAGE CLEAR"

"That idiot.... they may have passed, but I am taking this off his score for not minding his surroundings...."

Masego:

"YES!!! Destroy them Masego! Let the sand turn red from their blood!!"
Masego's eyes widened as he brought his fist down. Shaka had been silent for nearly the whole battle, but he realized that the lust for destruction had only grown more intense as the battle raged on. Shaka had been influencing him subtly, growing more and more until Mago's desperation to win this fight led him to this destructive act.

His body couldn't stop, he was committed, he closed his eyes and braced for the end of all these brave souls. Then impact, it was too early, but his arm impacted, he briefly opened his eyes and all he saw was purple. He felt the bones in his arm starting to shatter and let out a cry of anguish, and when the shield finally broke, Masego fell, hitting the ground back first. He managed to briefly see the message 'Stage Clear' before he felt his consciousness fading. "I'm...so...sorry." He managed to gasp out, tears rolling down his face before he finally went limp, his body reverted to its normal state.

Xena:

Her target was fast, having moved out of the way in time, just as Xena had feared. She braced herself for the teleport spell, but was greeted with gentle winds cushioning her fall. It took her a minute to realize that the flying girl had saved her, but by then, her focus was on the giant explosion of force that had just taken place.

When it was over, Xena saw the boy with the hulking form, unconscious with tears rolling down his face, and Viktoriya crying blood, her hand horribly burned. "VIKKI!!" She cried out in horror, rushing to her side and wrapping her in a tight embrace. "YOU IDIOT!! What were you thinking?! There had to have been another way to stop that fool that didn't involve nearly killing yourself!!" She sobbed into the President's shoulder, while simultaneously, wrapping the shoulder over her back, helping her partner through to the medical wing. "That's twice in as many days that you've scared the shit out of me, Romanov. Try shit like this again and I swear you'll kill me from a fucking heart attack!"

Artoria placed her left hand on her forehead, using her healing magic to get rid of the painful welt. Twisting around to heal her back was out of the question, she'd need another mage to do that for her. She was about to repair her visor, but then realized just how much power Mago was putting into his attack. Her eyes widened, and she yelled "STOOOOP!" She ran forward, hoping to keep him from most likely killing a bunch of the students along with Vikki. However, when she felt a huge surge of magic emanate from her sister, her pace slowed, staring in awe at the result of her spell casting. "Whoa.."

When Vikki didn't regenerate, Artoria felt her heart drop like a brick. Once again, she sprinted full speed to get to her, calling for her repeatedly. "Vikki!" Despite Xena trying to hurry her away to the medical wing, the young knight caught up thanks to her enhanced speed. "Wait, miss! I can heal her, please hold her still." If Xena listened, Artoria would remove her armored mitts, allowing easier flow of mana from her hands onto Viktoriya's heavily damaged body. She would use every ounce of mana she had left if necessary. If not, Artoria would not stop pestering her until she did.. or Xena otherwise forcefully shut her down.

Viola was awed by the display of sheer brute power both Masego and Viktoriya displayed with then two of their attacks collided together. In comparison, her fight seemed to be lower tier, not even within the same class as those two. Is was humbling to say the least, but motivational at the same time.

When the signs showed that the fight was over and she realized just how little people were left on her team, she let out a long sigh and plopped onto the ground and laid on her back, arms and legs splayed out as if she were making sand angels. She let her growing mana disperse, draining her Astana even further. Her spell would've taken nearly all of her stamina and it would've made one giant mess. It was a relief that she didn't have to do it.

Staring up at the sun, Viola groaned. After all that excitement, her body coming down from the action high... she remembered she was in a desert.

"Uuuuuugh. It's too hot in here. How the heck am I suppose to get out?"

Everything was a haze to her. Mana-Stasis was a serious condition for a mage, as in a way, Mana was also a part of their life-force. Her pain was amplified and she could no longer block it out. She caught some of the things Xena yelled at her as she moved in to support her. She could only smile with her eyes shut. Blood was visible in clear streams of red, originating from her tear ducts. It ran down to her chin. "I couldn't be helped Xena... the students had to be protected. He did well. I am letting those who witnessed this pass, even against my rule of only letting four people go. And I fear, if we do not take in the boy, he will only cause damage to himself and those around him."

However, when Artoria arrived on the scene, she could feel the warm touch from her sister. The healing was surging through her body. Her closed mana channels were being filled with mana at a steady pace. However, as Artoria was sending her own healing magic and mana inside Vikki, she would be met by a feeling of void. An abyss that needed to be filled. Her magic only touched the surface of the storage of mana, which Vikki usually had within her homunculus body.

Vikki however, could now move her arm, as her body was recovering itself at a more slower state. In any case, Artoria's mana didn't replenish her, but it broke the Mana-Stasis, allowing Vikki's body to slowly regain its mana.

Gently, she moved her hand to stop Artoria, she regained her vision as well and her scars were steadily healing. "Thank you Ahren... but any more and you will just hurt yourself." She smiled proudly towards Artoria, while still holding on to Xena for support. She moved in two fingers towards Artoria's forehead, only to poke the girl at her usual spot, this time, a warm touch and she avoided the bruise on her forehead.

"Sorry, you had to witness my homunculus body like this... we'll talk later, I promise but what is the moping face for? Cheer, shout, yell. You won. Due to the actions of the three of you, many of these first years were allowed to enter our Academy." She smiled even brighter as she looked around towards the students who were confused. Didn't they realize they had won?

A large gate appeared out of nowhere in the middle of all this fighting. It opened up, and outside, they could just skim the inside of Arcadia Academy. They made it. All they had to do, was walk through it.
