Side Story Cyberpunk: Time and Money Sign-Ups

Im-im-impossible!!
Violet Natasha Time and Money
The Year is 2023. The Corporate boot is placed firmly upon the neck of the common man. From their ivory towers, the elite seek to expand their imperium. Soon, they will control every aspect of your lives. Between the autocracy above and the anarchy bellow, Cyberpunk thrives. Cyberpunk is resistance. Cyberpunk is resilience. Cyberpunk is survival.
Welcome to the Dark Future---
View attachment 11565
/Premise/
In an alternate future not unlike our present, the human race has slipped under the thumb of a variety of all-powerful, independent corporations. Humanity's governments have either collapsed or fallen to the wayside. In the wake of a great war, the survivors of Night-City have been left to fend for themselves. Either you find your place in the city's criminal underworld, or you die. It's as simple as that. If you stop growing, you die. Burn as bright as you can for as long as you can.

You'll take the role of a citizen of Night City. You'll be running jobs, gigs, shows, whatever it takes to keep your head above the water. The choices you make will change your lives- and the city itself- forever.

Unlike my previous games, this game will involved you making OCs! If you're struggling to make a 'cyberpunk' OC, feel free to create a modern day 'criminal' or 'corporate' themed character, and we can sci-fi them up later.

/Mechanics/
This game is based on the TTRPGs Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyberpunk RED by Mike Pondsmith and R. Talsorian Games, and with additional content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Cyberpunk: 2077. In other words, I'll be using a bunch of big o' RPG textbooks and secret dice-rolls to influence the game. But you don't have to worry about any of that. You'll just have to worry about the narrative, and keeping your character alive. Death is commonplace in Night City. One misstep could spell disaster.

/Rules/
1) All STC rules apply.

2) No God-modding or Meta-Gaming etc. Certain aspects of the game will be determined by Dice I will be rolling behind the scene. So if I make a ruling, my word is final. You don't need to know anything about the Cyberpunk TTRPGS etc. to have a good time here. Knowing about them won't give you an advantage.

3) Be respectful to all participants OOC. In the event of any disputes, my world will be final again.

4) Keep all OOC content in this thread. Keep all IC content here.

Character Name:

Violet Natasha
Character Occupation:
Solo (Mercenary) - Techie (Gadget Expert) - Nomad (Smuggler)
Character Background:
Before the events of the game, Violet was a solo Mercenary, preferring to work alone whenever she took a job. Equipped with Cybernetics to aid her, she was often a first pick for situations that normal humans couldn't deal with, such as fast reflexes against incoming enemies, as well as infiltration missions. She was rebellious at a young age after receiving her augmentations, her family often having arguments with her until they eventually hired a merc to kill their own daughter. However she survived the encounter and paid them back in kind.
Character Goals:
Personal Survival and Welfare. Night City was a dangerous place and Violet did anything to get by; often by taking Mercenary jobs that others wouldn't have the heart for.
Character Gear:
View attachment 11621View attachment 11622
( Plasma Rifle - Violet carries two of these and opts to duel wield them in combat, but is capable of using one on it's own. Fires volatile rounds of Plasma from the central part of the weapon, which has a high chance of burning human skin or frying electronics. With a port on the back for recharges, the rifles operate on electronic power which Violet can charge with ports on the cybernetic aspects of her body. )

( Spider Drones - Violet carries up to four of these at any time due to their compact frame before release. Violet throws a disc out towards the floor which unfolds into a mobile four-legged drone. The drone actively seeks out hostiles with high mobility and once within range, initiates a 3 second self-destruction sequence which, once the time expires, releases a small fragmentation explosion. When the drone initiates it's destruction, it lights up a bright red. )
Character Cybernetics:
Personal Cloaking Device - Has two functionalities; allows her to turn briefly invisible for a period of time | acts as Camouflage when used against the wall of any terrain texture.

Character Name:
Genji "Fujin" Seiryu
Character Occupation:
Netrunner/Fixer
Character Background:
Before Fujin and Raijin there were Genji and Takeru Momobami, the two sons of Hiro Momobami, founder of the Momobami Consulting. They were responsible for cleaning up the reputations of their clients and smear their enemies. Because of this, they had dirt on just about every corpo and Hiro knew how to leverage it. Family, friends, subordinates, he made sure that everyone was well taken care of, including his sons. Genji and Takeru received the best education that money could buy and the latest gadgets so long as they were within good standing. He wanted nothing more than to raise two worthy successors and had no issue pitting them against each other to receive better results. Unfortunately, the two were inseparable with Genji being the planner and Takeru the executor of whatever schemes they came up with. Sometimes they would be harmless pranks but other times, his family would have to throw their weight around to ensure that the brothers' reputations wouldn't be tarnished. As capable as they were, they didn't care for school (far preferring to LARP as street kids) and Genji barely scraped by in class. In retrospect, it was likely his way of guaranteeing Takeru had a good future but that didn't matter because his brother's grades were hardly better. By adulthood both were ready to move on, but found their accounts frozen. It was "shape up or get cut out" and both of them decided (arrogantly) to go.

Thinking life would be easy, the two dove into the world of edgerunning before subsequently having their teeth kicked in. They might have had sold honed from childhood training but it was nothing compared to the school of hard knocks. It took several years of trial and error before they managed to make a name for themselves as a fixers (specifically a net runner and mercenary). He was Fujin, the man who could netrun faster than the wind) and Takeru became Raijin, a merc as wild as a thunder storm. As far as Night City was concerned, they the best duo, bar none and the bane of NCPD's existence.

But then his brother had to go and start a family.

Though Genji doesn't remember all the details, he does remember attending the wedding, being set up with Takeru's brother-in-law, and the birth of his nephew. He remembers lying through his teeth about their dad being a great person up until his untimely death and agreeing that it would be better for everyone if Saeko never knew about the two of them being edgerunners. The last thing he would remember about Takeru was his severed arm. It was just supposed to be one more job. One little hit on Michiko Arasaka would have them set for life. But they should have known that the Arasakas were untouchable. Even with years of experience and the best chrome money could buy them, the fight ended with Genji's face plastered on the news next to his dead brother.

Character Goals:
He wants to find out who framed him for the murder of his brother.
Character Gear:
HJSH-18 Masamune (modified): A modified automatic targeting system allows the weapon to target up to five targets simultaneously, though with decreased accuracy. He can hot swap bullets for chemical or incendiary rounds.
HJKE-11 Yukimura: A compact pistol with smart targeting and a counter that displays the remaining number of bullets in a magazine.
Rebreather (modified): decorated to look like an oni from the bottom down, this mask allows him to recycle/filter air and disguise his voice.
Flash Grenades: Self-explanatory
Smoke Grenades: Self-explanatory

Character Cybernetics:
Biotech Σ Mk.2 (jailbroken):A popular cyberdeck among netrunners whose equipment relies on speedy RAM recovery. On that front, the augmented Biotech coprocessors easily get the job done. Aside from the usual quality of life upgrades that come with installing an OS, it allows him to bypass the defenses of most systems. Not to mention the quickhacks...

Self-ICE: A natural companion to his cyber deck, it keeps him from getting quick hacked too easily.

Kiroshi Optics Mk.2: The Kiroshi Optics allow scanning of the environment, as well as display information about citizens of Night City. The scanner has 5 zoom levels; 1 by default, 3, 4, 6 and 8, which is displayed on the left side of the user interface

Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi: This is an altered Mantis Blade that once belonged to his brother. Aside from being extremely sharp and light, it has the ability to deliver electric shocks.

Great sign-ups so far, guys! I've added you both to the cast list!

Character Name:

Mikael "Mika" Cross

Character Occupation:

Solo (Mercenary)/Netrunner (Hacker)

Character Background:

Mikael never knew his dad, the man having died before he was born, and lost his mom at the age of nine to a robbery gone wrong. He was then raised by a family friend until he could find his own place.

For a time he did a couple of small gigs for cash, finding a few "friends" He could shack up with for a time. After staying with them for a few months, he found the cheapest place he could find to call his own after a bit of a falling out until he could find his footing and work his way up into getting better paying gigs.

Character Goals:

"Doesn't almost everyone ever dream of living better than they already do? I'm not talkin' 'bout fancy cars, women–or men–and shit loads of money, that type o' thing–though it's a nice thought. Nah I'm talking 'bout being able to live everyday life not having to fucking fight to survive every. waking. moment. Laugh all ya want, but there's some truth to it."

Mika mainly just wants to survive and live life. Maybe even living a better life than what he's currently got going for him. Money's nice too.

Character Gear:

Unity: Mikael's "default" firearm. His ol' reliable unity is a familiar weight be it at his side or in his hands.

Malorian Overture: his "backup". He doesn't use it as much as his Unity, and it's a backup for a reason after all. If he doesn't have his unity and he needs to pop someone, this is his go to.

Punknife: if the fists or a gun just won't cut it, his Punknife is handy for self defense or as a makeshift tool. Not only that, but it works well in situations that don't require too much noise and are more up close and personal.

Character Cybernetics:

Gorilla arms: he likes to punch hard, and gorilla arms gives him just the right oomph in doing so.

Kiroshi Optics MK.1:
