Akashic Arcana Day 3: The Reunion

Eren sighed, thinking as he looked down. "He only wants the chip... alright then." He nodded a bit. "I'll go with you on one condition." He looked her in the eyes, his own eyes cold and dead. "No restraints. No shackles. I will not return a prisoner." He crossed his arms, awaiting her response. He knew that if she refused his conditions, then it would lead to conflict. but for his own reasons... he knew he had to be free of restraints.

"Fine. But I keep you in front of me at all times." She exclaimed, agreeing to his terms and calling for a transport. "Let's head outside. We've got a transport on the way to pick us up." She then looked around to see that several people were looking at them.

"Relax everyone. Everything is under control here, no harm being done. Resume your regular schedules."

he nodded, walking slowly towards the front to let her keep up. his stride made him have to slow his pace, as with his height, he had a long stride.
As they approached the transport, 2 soldiers awaited them holding black handguns. Eren glared at them as he stepped inside. One of them looked at arachne. "Why is he not in restraints? This is a hazard to all 3 of us, you know!"

"Would you rather he break out of them and start causing bloodshed?" She responded cruelly towards the soldier. "He is a special case and he insisted on not having any restraints. I have the situation under control, Soldier. You just carry about your business and take us back to the Confederate Capital."

He sighed, looking back. "Fine... but you're staying back there with him. I don't trust any of this, and I don't trust him." He got in the armored transport, the two men taking the front seats which were blocked from the back by a thick metal grate. the gate to the front was locked with a heavy chain, the lock on the front side as they took off, heading out towards the exit of the academy and the train that would take them back to the confederacy.

Eren sat quietly, thinking as the transport drove. He didn't move, you could barely tell he was even breathing. But his mind was at work. He was thinking, keeping his eyes forward.

Anastasiya stayed silent as well, standing against one of the side-doors of the transport as she looked out towards the world through the windows. She occasionally looked back towards Eren just to check on him then continued watching out. The way she stood and kept held of her sniper rifle, she looked like she was expecting trouble.

"(I'm expecting trouble. With a transport of this design, someone who hates the confederacy must think we're carrying important cargo...)" She thought to herself.

Eren looked up, his eyes widen as one of the tires blew out. He stayed silent as the 2 men up front pull over, frustrated.
"I'll change it." One man says. They both exit, the other one shrugging. "I'll help with that." Eren looked a bit annoyed at the man's blatant fear of him, but stayed still, waiting for the transport to continue before yelling and a few gunshots left blood stains on the window she looked out, blocking her view as 4 men aim at the transport, moving towards it slowly.

"What the..." Anastasyia walked over to a central ladder on the transport and poked out the top lid to reveal four men aiming at the transport. She quickly pulled out her Sniper and sniped one in the head before dropping down and informing Eren of the situation.

"We're under attack. Stay put and let me pick them off."

The second she fired, the others fired back, the man falling to the ground. The others rushed to the transport, using it as cover from her position. Eren nodded a bit, clearly not intimidated by the men as they slowly circled the car, a rumbling as one got on top of the roof. Another got in front behind the hood, firing into the car and breaking the windshield, but the bullets being stopped by the metal grate before the man got back down, unseen behind the hood.

"They're everywhere... Hmm." She exclaimed, thinking up a plan. She immediately jumped up the main ladder and grabbed the man's head and brought it down onto the metal of the transport a few times before standing up fully and chucking him off. She got back down and took cover behind one of the seats, ready for when they make it past the front.

As Eren thought, he narrowed his eyes. Something wan't right. 4 men, one of them shot down as she came up and took out another. One up top, 3 around the sides... one of them was killed. But as he listened, one in front, 2 on the sides, and one behind the car... what happened?
Eren looked back at the back windshield was broken, the man aiming his gun into the car. A black scale covered up a wound on his forehead. His skin was grey and had small embers within it glowing. Eren's eyes widened as he saw his own work... but in another.
"Arachne, get down now!" as she went down he pulled her to the floor just before the car was sprayed down by bullet fire.

"What?!" She exclaimed as she was pulled down. "What was the meaning of that? I had the situation up top under control." She explained as she reloaded her Sniper Rifle with a new bullet. She then noticed the same wound that Eren was wide-eyed at.

"Who are these guys? Normally a shot from my sniper, especially to the head would knock them out if not kill them. How is he still..."

He shook his head. "These guys aren't normal... they're under control by some sort of IED. But how...?" He thought for a minute before an idea came to mind. As the other man stood and jumped back up on top of the truck, eren spoke.

"Vernis' ko mne"

The two men she had shot lost the darkness and glow in their skin, falling limp as the other two panicked.
"Shit, HE'S in there?!"
"we getta go, move!"
The men both ran into the dense forest, out of sight. Eren slowly got up and looked at the two bodies.
"God... how did anyone figure out..." He sighed, sitting back down, his head in his hands. "It may not be as sophisticated as the IED... but someone has the same power as me. But... who does he work for, then?" He looked back at the bodies, seeing they stayed limp and lifeless. "And why did they attack a confederate transport? Could they be an enemy?"

She immediately went up the ladder and watched them run off. Then dropped down and confronted Eren. "You have a lot of explaining to do right now. For one, who exactly were those men? Two, as soon as you spoke those words, they retreated and ran in fear of you despite appearing to have the same powers as you. Something is incredibly fishy about all of this, and I want answers."

Eren shook his head a bit. "I'll be honest... I'm not sure. They used the same power as I had, but I had it in my knowledge only one other person could use that power... and he works for nobody but Romanov."
He looked up at her, his eyes widened. "He couldn't have sent them..." He stood up, getting out of the truck and looking out at the forest. "Romanov... if you can hear me, you tell me now. Was this your doing?"

"I couldn't have witnesses, now could I?"

Another transport pulled up, 2 more soldiers stepping out of the front and going to work, picking up the bodies of the soldiers as they opened the door, a man in a black suit stepping out. "Miss Arachne, Mister Kuron... your true transport has arrived." Eren looked down, before stepping down to the ground, furious. "What was the point of all this?"

He chuckled, looking at them. "Well, emperor Romanov insisted we made sure your IED was intact and functioning. So why force you to use your power when putting you in the situation that you needed it ensured you put it to use?"

Eren got in the man's face, the soldiers bringing up their guns. "Who... used my necromancy? Who was it that used my power?"
"Please, mr. Kuron, did you honestly think that your abilities were unique to you? Although you have the IED, its abilities still went to another, though it was only one other that we put it into."
"WHO?!"
The soldiers aimed their guns, Eren sighed and stepped back as the man smiled. "In due time, mr. Kuron. But first, we need to get you both back to Moscow, now don't we? Ms. Arachne, please escort our esteemed guest into the transport. There should be no more incidents after this, I assure you."

"While I don't entirely agree with setting us up, I will admit that it yielded results. However, something just tells me that our Emperor was testing me as well, but I'll question him about that myself." She replied to the Soldier as she began to escort Eren into the new transport. "Let me guess. We're going to start heading on our way, and another batch of your soldiers are going to ambush us and put us in a combat scenario?"

The man chuckled, stepping inside. "I assure you nothing of the sort is going to happen. I'm here to prove it, being one of the emperor's lower advisors." As they stepped in, the man sat beside eren, thinking. "So, how did you get here is my question. You got from Northern Mongolia all the way down to Japan, to PACT. You had to get through all of the federation, and we secured the border towns so there was no way for you to get help from PACT or the union. So how?"
Eren looked at him for a second, before turning his head forward once again. "A good Samaritan. Someone who knew how things were for people fleeing from your clutches. He wanted to help relations between the federation and PACT, so he helped me get to shanghai. From there, I boarded a boat headed for PACT, and I was there."
The man nodded, thinking. "Hmm... good Samaritan, huh? Interesting." He nodded, sitting back in his seat.

As he continued asking Eren for information, he either answered or ignored the question if he didn't want to answer. For the moment, nothing was forced. But as they traveled into Asia's mainland, and into the Chinese federation, there was an ominous feeling over everyone as the transport made its way towards Russia, towards the Confederacy.

Arachne just stood in the middle, holding onto a latch on the inside ceiling of the transport and watched what appeared to be a interrogation. She always expected trouble and her figure always represented that she was battle-worn. "This had better not be a trap." She stated fiercely. "I've had quite enough of deception. For one, I'd like to know why the Emperor could not trust his most valuable huntress with most of what's gone on."
