Ame Damnee Desert of Pain

Alexandar felt Aeri's arm sling over his shoulders with a sigh. He was irritated, annoyed and wanted nothing more to be back home in Abaddon. Instead he was out here with Aeriseth and the rest of the puny group that followed, following after the flames of the fucking devil and the first signs of a sandstorm were showing up. He knew he could withstand it but he was not game for sand to be everywhere once it passed by. And Aeriseth wanted to act her usual self on top of everything. Or at least trying to. He watched her out of the corner of this eye. "Why bother with me? You know I know you better than anyone else so why?" he questioned.

Lla looked at Eddie, grateful for his help from the wrath of the desert. She really wished that she had kept her shoes on instead of kicking them at Mina, for no matter how calloused and scarred her feet were, she could still feel the sand tickling her toes with each step. She shook the thoughts with a light shrug as she felt the winds pick up. "A sandstorm?"

Mina - Desert of Pain
"A sandstorm?" Mina looked up when Lila spoke, not realizing that the phenomenon she was seeing was actually the result of an impending storm. Mina glanced around, before freezing in her steps when she turned the other direction.

Maybe "impending" isn't the right word...

From behind the group, a dark cloud had risen up, spanning the horizon for miles and miles. Although "cloud" would have been an understatement; a wall would perhaps be a more accurate description. At least, if walls could move at hundreds of miles an hour, that is. Mina coughed. "That's uh... That's a lot of sand," she said weakly.

Eddie Toorn - Desert of Pain

Eddie smirked a bit at Mina's grasp of the obvious. "Yep, it sure is. Cover up if you can! Visibility is about to get very low so stay close to each other!" He called out, he knew the Envoys wouldn't really care, it was more for the benefit of the girls around him. He pulled Lila in close so he could form a protective shell around the two with his wings. He made a little opening that was just large enough for him to see out of with one eye.

"Stay close to me until it passes, ok darling?" He asked Lila. "Hopefully it should be over soon, but I don't want you getting lost out here, that'd be a damn shame." Despite all the stressful situations he'd been witness too, he still managed to crack a joke, smiling at Lila as they continued forward in their feathered shell.

The sandstorm, a dangerous natural disaster that kissed the desert from time to time. It was the deserts natural defense against unwelcome visitors. The winds began to scream as the sand danced within its gusts. The sandstorm picked up both velocity and strength in a mere manner of minutes as it rained down upon the group trekking through The Desert of Pain. Within the howling wind and sand, it was almost as if the shrill shrieks of the lives the desert has claimed before could be heard. It wouldn't be long before visibility completely disappeared and everything was caked in sand.

lAlexander- Desert, Oblitus
Alexander looked up only to see the sandstorm was heading right for them, instantly jumping for Aeriseth wrapping his wings around himself and Aeriseth, feeling the sand bit at his exposed skin as the rough winds blew the sand over the group. "Fuck." he cursed as he looked at Aeriseth, his arms wrapped around her in protection. "Are you okay?"

Lila Nender-Desert, Oblitus
Lila looked on in fear as a huge sandstorm came for them, she shifted closer to Eddie as she shielded her face from the sand that made it passed Eddie's wings. As it grew closer and the sand danced more dangerously as it cut into her skin. Her fear only grew as it got worse, her mind frantically searching for ways to get out of this before they became buried in the sand. In her fear, she didn't notice a dim glow coming from the sword but she saw as a pale blue barrier formed around her and Eddie, cutting of the harsh winds from them. "What the hell?" she asked as she placed her hand on the barrier which hummed under touch. "Where did this come from?" As she asked this, her brain clicked as she scrambled to put the sword of her back, looking at the dim glow around it. "Oh, huh." She responded, astounded that a sword could do that.

Mina - Desert of Pain
Mina tried to stay close to the rest of the group as they still trekked forward through the storm, though the wind buffeted her small frame this way and that. Between the stinging sand and her narrowed eyes, it wasn't long before the others slipped out of sight; the dark shapes of their bodies disappearing in the whirlwind of sand. Oh no. No no no no no... Mina tried to move faster, hoping maybe they had just gotten ahead of her and she was panicking over nothing. It's fine, don't worry... They're just a few feet ahead- Her thoughts were cut off by her own muffled scream as she suddenly felt the ground disappear from underneath her. Mina tumbled down a sand dune until she lost track of which way was up and which way was down. The sand scraped her skin like millions of tiny knives, and when her body finally came to rest at the bottom of the dune, she'd inhaled so much sand it might as well have been air. Mina huddled there, unmoving as she listened to the scream of the wind around her; the cries of those who had once suffered a similar fate. Her mother would not have been pleased for the words that were running through her mind at that moment.

Eddie Toorn - Desert of Pain

His wings weren't doing a good enough job of protecting them, more and more gaps started forming in his makeshift barrier as the sand cut into his back and his wings. He didn't know how much longer he could hold out, but luckily he didn't have too. All of a sudden, a pale blue barrier had formed around them and protected them from the raging sands. As he glanced to Lila's glowing sword, he couldn't help but raise an amused eyebrow. "Huh. Well what do ya know? That's a pretty useful sword you got there. Try and keep that one close, ok? For both our sakes." He said as he retracted her wings and moved forward with Lila, running to catch up with the shadows of the envoys in the distance.

Aeriseth
Desert of Pain

Aeriseth grinned as Alex wrapped his arms around her as a means for protection, her succubus nature inserting perverted thoughts about the embrace into her head. "Are you OK?" he asked, genuinely concerned. "Oh my, Alex..." Aeriseth responded, noticing that they were now very close. She hooked an arm around his shoulders and neck, pulling him closer into the protective embrace. "If I'm not mistaken, but I do believe you're trying to flirt with me, Alex. You know you can just come out and say it, darling... I want you too," she teased.

Chandra Eclav
Desert of Pain

As the sandstorm intensified Chandra blocked her face with both of her arms, trying her best to move forward against the harsh winds. The sand was hitting her skin with such force it was leaving marks, even drawing blood in some places. It wasn't the first time she had been caught in a sandstorm and normally she just bunkered down and waited it out. This time she couldn't do that, she had to keep up or else she would be left behind and to Chandra, it was more exciting to follow the group than to wander the desert alone. She sighed heavily, slowly taking her steps while keeping her face covered. Time was the only thing on her side now.

Alexander-Desert, Oblitus
Alexander could only glare at Aeriseth as she turned his worry into perversion, removing his hold almost instantly but kept his wings out, mimicking Eddie's earlier action with Aeriseth. "Let's keep going. If we keep going straight ahead, we'll stay on track!" he said, stopping long enough for the others to catch up. He wasn't that heartless to leave people stranded in a sandstorm.

Lila Nender-Desert, Oblitus
Lila smiled at Eddie, nodding in agreement. "You're right. I wonder what else this little toy can do." she said, admiring the sword before putting it away. "It just seems convenient that more trouble would happen." She said, staring at almost nothing but sand and the silhouettes of the Envoy and Chandra not too far off. She didn't see a fourth silhouette and rose an eyebrow. "And we're missing one." she turned her gaze around while she kept walking, trying to see if she could see anything but it was all sand. "Yeah, definitely missing one."

Eddie Toorn - Desert of Pain

Eddie looked behind him as Lila pointed out that they were missing someone. "Looks like it. We have to keep moving though, we go back for them we'll just wind up lost ourselves." It may have been cold, but Eddie knew that right now, the most important people they needed to focus on were themselves, and keeping with the group. "If they're lucky, a caravan might pass through and find them. If they're not... well they knew the risks when they signed up." He said as he increased their pace to try and catch up to the silhouettes. Thanks to the shield the two of them were able to catch up to the others in no time. "Any chance that they could enter this bubble so we don't lose anyone else?" He asked Lila.

Lila Nender- Desert, Oblitus
"I can try."
she said, as she pulled the sword out once more and looked at it, not knowing where to begin on make the barrier bigger. After a quick moment, she settled on focusing slowly on the sword, willing the barrier to move and cover the others. Opening her eyes, she saw the barrier didn't budge a bit and it frustrated her, her face puffing out in irritation. Trying once more, she focused all of her attention on the barrier. It took a long while but it finally started to move slowly but surely, pulling Chandra and the Envoys under it's protection. Opening her eyes, she saw that this time was successful spotting everyone. Giving a light cheer, she sheathed her sword with a smile. She was really liking this new toy.

Eddie Toorn - Desert of Pain

After beginning to give up hope on Lila learning to use the sword, the shield around them began to expand, bringing Chandra and both Envoys under its protection. Eddie let out an impressed whistle. "Well what do you know? That sword might be as fun to have around as you are darling." He said giving her a cheeky butt slap in gratitude. "Looks like we lost the dancer along the way. Shame really, she was quite a talent. We should keep moving, the Median Oasis shouldn't be far off." He said as he continued walking forward.

Mina - Desert of Pain
Hours later, Mina's eyes flickered open only to see that the sandstorm had passed. The bad news? Apparently the desert thought she was dead, because it had so kindly buried her waist deep in sand. Mina's body was racked by spasms as she coughed violently in a vain effort to get the sand out of her throat, but without water, all it did was make it hurt more. When she finally managed to stop coughing, she sat up straight. "Great," she hissed through her teeth.

Mina attempted to drag herself out of the sand, but all she managed to do was pile more sand up around herself. She cursed before trying to dig herself out, shoving the sand out of the way with her hands only to see half of it drift back into the hole again. Eventually, she managed to loosen the sand enough that she could finally drag herself back onto the surface of the desert. Mina flopped down onto the sand, letting it burn her back as she looked up at the sky. The dancer shielded her eyes from the sun before her body started to shake. The shaking turned into a burst of hysterical laughter, that didn't let up for another five minutes at least. "I'm alive!" she wheezed as she grabbed a handful of sand and tossed it away from herself. As the laughing subsided her expression turned to a grimace. "Ahaha... I'm so dead."
