Fiery Battle [1x1]

The Eager Rper
Evagren Forest. A large territory that belonged to all sorts of wildlife: deer, wolves, bears, birds, wildcats, and a few others that made the forest dangerous. But that didn't stop the King from sending his knights in the large wooded territory. On patrol and on guard, armored soldiers traveled on horseback to make sure that their kingdom is safe from any threat.

The greatest of those threats was none other than the mighty Dragon. With great powerful wings and fierce attitudes, the draconian species has caused a great deal of trouble over the last several decades . Only recently have the Kingdoms made a solution to their problem. Create a great brigade of knights to protect their homes.

Janine was one of those knights. A rather rare occurrence for a woman to be a knight. But she somehow made it. As she rode on her horse among the other Knights, she kept a sharp eye on her surroundings - there was always a chance to be ambushed by anything here.

"Remember what we're out here for! That beast can be anywhere in this forest. It would be easy to say that it couldn't gave gotten far, but that would be a lie. Those beasts are resilient. Keep an eye out for any signs!" The head sargent commanded to the troupe.

"Yes Sir!" The rest of the knights responded. Janine nodded and looked around as they traversed across the rocky terrain. Hunting for a wounded dragon was just as dangerous as hunting a healthy one - they both were vicious and dangerous when cornered. Janine couldn't help but to wonder why the beast tried to steal the cattle from the farmlands. Surely there was enough prey for a dragon out here, right?

INTO THE WOODS

In the woods of Evagreen, a young wood elf was gathering materials to her potions. The potioneer lady came from a family of nomadic elves that were great with plants and animals, probably because of being wood-elves, so she was quickly and skillful to find and recognize useful plants from poisonous ones. Lothroniel was humming while she carefully harvested some roots from a tree nearby the stony roads, as usual she was having a conversation with the huge oak-like tree while she gathered the roots, making sure the tree remained healthy after she collect what she needed. "I'm almost done, dearie, just a couple roots more and I'll be able to have enough to brew potions for a month." she cheerfully said as she finished collecting it and walked from the tree to a nearby shrub, she shuffled around it to try to find what she was looking for. With ease, she found what she was looking for, a couple of stones that easily turned into dust so she carefully took the stones in her hands and poured the powder into a small glass vial that she had attached to her belt.

Lothroniel was always on the road so all her belongings were attached to her, a huge leather backpack on her back had tons of pockets on it and a green and raggedy blanket rolled up on the top. He clothes were all in earthy tones - from light shades of beige to dark shades of green - all she wore was a dress, some boots, a green cape with a hood and a necklace around her neck that was a family treasure. The belt around her waist had tons of small pockets and vials attached to it. He long and brown hair was a mess but she never cared about how she looked like, even though most men tended to flirt with her.

After gathering the stones, she decided to also harvest the berries on the bush which usually were a great ingredient for revitalizing potions. She wasn't aware of that but with her shuffling the bush, it made it jiggle and make noises, which could grab the attention of travellers on the road and lead them to believe that there might be an animal hidden there.

In the shadows of the forest a few hundred feet away from the foraging elf, stood a brown and green dragon of moderate size - a little under three humans long and two humans high from the shoulder. It growled softly to itself, turning to its side to examine the bleeding wound that's inflicted its leg.

The beast licked the wound for a moment before sitting on its haunches and turning its attention to a moving figure in the distance. This figure had been there for a good minute, and it still had yet to move to a new place. Perhaps it was the best chance to attack?

The dragon growled and shook its head - the wound inflicted on it was hindering to say the least. After a long moment to think, the beast got up on its feet and slowly stalked the elf.
Creeping around bushes and trees, the beast drew closer to the unsuspecting female, hoping to get an easier meal.

HUSTLE IN THE WIND

Lothroniel finished gathering anything she could get from around that bush and then straightened her back, letting out a loud sigh as she attached the vials now filled with ingredients for her potions to her belt. She heard some hustle and furrowed her eyebrows before turning around to find the dragon staring at her with its fiery eyes and closening to her. The wooden elf tilted her head, she wasn't afraid of any creatures and more often" than not had a better time talking to animals than any human or elf. "Are you going to attack me?" she searched the answer in the beast's eyes and then continued with her wondering "For what? Hunger or fear?" she tilted her head to the other side and took a step closer to the monumental creature in front of her "No, it's not fear." she analyzed the beast, scanning the dragon as she spoke "At least not completely... it's more towards rage but mostly... hunger?" she shook her head "No, that doesn't make sense. A big dragon like you could grab a bear with easy with your claws while flying... you wouldn't simply attack a scrawny elf like me." her forest green eyes continued to scan the creature "You're hurt, you can't fly. That's why you're hiding on the forest." she was more observant than people gave her credit. Lothroniel took another step close to the dragon and softly said without making any sudden motions "I can heal you, I have things that can make the pain go away. I can help you but you can't attack me when I get close to you if you want me to help you, understood?" she scanned the beasts eyes to try to check if it was fine with it.

The dragon poised itself to attack the elf, teeth ready to snap at what would be it's first meal. But before it could make a move, the smaller being turned around and ending up seeing it.

The beast froze and rose up, suddenly wary of what the other creature would do to it.

But then, a most curious thing happened. The elf began to talk to it. The dragon tilted its head in utter confusion and bewilderment - when did anyone that looked like a human just began to talk to their kind?

Maybe it was a trap. Maybe the whole thing was something to let its guard down, and make it easier to attack. But the longer the stranger spoke, the more the dragon hesitated. All it wanted was to stay alive and get better..... But the pain that plauged its body prevented anything positive to happen.

The dragon took a few short steps backwards from the elf. Could they be trusted? Could the beast really be healed? A part of the dragon didn't want to trust this strange being, but another part just wanted to get rid of the pain in its leg.

After much consideration, the dragon took a look at their injury and growled softly. Maybe it could get away quicker. With a nervous huff, the dragon approached the elf with much caution. It sat down and eyed the young female with their wary eyes, watching the elf's every move.

HEALING

Lothroniel cautiously moved closer to the dragon that was now plopped in front of her. She saw no signs of trickery or that it intended to attack her so she leaned closer to inspect the wound on its leg. He hummed softly as her eyes focused on it and her eyebrows furrowed "Looks bad but I have something that will help, although it might not be completely healed on the first application of the potion... we might need to take our time with that wound." she trailed her long fingertips over the vials of her belt and picked up one that had a purplish liquid inside, she popped the cork off and warned the dragon "It might sting a little but after that you'll feel better. Since the cut it big we'll need to reapply it later on." she took a deep breath and was now holding the open vial on top of the wound, she slowly poured the liquid on it and stopped when the vial had only half of its contents still inside. "It's not a natural wound... you were attacked... are you hiding?" she looked up into its eyes to try to find an answer to her question.

The dragon flicked its tail as it watched the elf study the wound. A huff came out of its mouth as the elf spoke again, head nodding in understanding as the female prepared to pour something on its leg.

When the purple substance was shown, the dragon lowered its head a little and blinked, wondering how that little bit of stuff was going to help. When it was poured on the wound, the dragon felt the sting that was warned about, and growled with a shake of its head.

It hurt, and the dragon didn't like feeling the pain on its leg again. Eventually the pain subsided a little, and when the elf asked her question, the dragon looked up at the sky. It wanted to fly away so much, but it couldn't at the moment. Hunting for food on human territory was obviously not a good idea.

The dragon snorted and looked to the elf with a grumbling sigh, almost as if it was embarrassed to be in the situation. Hiding from the humans was a lot harder than others had suggested.

UNEXPECTED ALLIANCE

The elf looked up at the dragon once the wound was already starting to be healed by the potion she poured on its leg. "You can't fly." she simply said and followed the gaze of the beast to the blue sky that creeped through the tops of the trees. "You're hiding in the forest because you can't fly... but, I can't understand it... your wings seems to be proper. The wound is in your leg... unless... something elses is preventing you from flying. But what could it be?" she pondered to herself but allowed the dragon to hear her rumbling about its problems. "Hmmm." she hummed softly as she looked around, a small noise started to emerge from the distance, footsteps, human ones. "They're chasing you, that's why you can't fly. It would make you an easy target, wouldn't it?" she scanned around and soon saw a mountain not so far away "Come, you need to hide before they track you down here."

The dragon looked over to the elf as it felt the leg begin to heal up. It sighed before wincing with a small growl. Suddenly, sounds in the distance presented itself -- horses and human voices coming from the trees. The humans were still following it? And they managed to come in this direction? If the dragon didn't leave, it would surely die from the humans.

The dragon snorted with worry as it looked around for a place to hide. But the smaller elf suggested for the dragon to follow her. The dragon hesitated; how much was it going to put faith in this stranger?

The right wing slowly ached, making the dragon turn to it with a worried growl. The reason of its hindered flight was then shown: the thin indents surrounding the wing showed that ropes were embedded around the wing. The dragon was forced to be grounded, as the wing was forcefully folded when the ropes tied around it.

The dragon got on its feet and began to walk, but then, horses began to burst out of the treeline. Knights swarmed the clearing, startling the dragon into falling into the ground with a large thud.
